agbameta: Definitely not some kabukabu repainted village airport...Amen, Ase... Osun A Dara. |
Earlier than I thought. Model and more about the airport here; https://www.nairaland.com/1454755/model-mko-abiola-international-airport

Contractor promises completion of new airport in Osun State by May 2014 WorldStage Newsonline-- Aeronautical Engineering and Technical Services company handling the contruction of MKO Abiola International Airport, Ido Osun, in Osun State has assured that the project will be completed by May 2014. According to the company's Project Supervisor, Engr. Abubakar Abuyaro, the airport's 3.5 kilometers runway when completed will be the longest in the country. Addressing Governor Rauf Aregbesola and his entourage on a visit to the site in Ido-Osun, he said it would beat the Muritala Mohammed International Airport and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja with 3 kilometre and Abuja 2.8 kilometre and 2.8 respectively. Aregbesola, who was conducted round the airport by the Project Supervisor, inspected the runway for aircraft which is under construction and other facilities at the airport. Abuyaro said that largest part of the work on the airport is on the runway, which progress has been slowed down by this year incessant heavy rain. According to Abuyaro, that majority of the excavation work that needed to be done could not be carried out during the rainy season in order to ensure a quality job. "Fifty per cent of the earth work on the runway, which is the most important part of the job, has been achieved. Rainy season is gradually going to an end. As soon as rainfall subsides, work will definitely go at a high speed in the airport, which after completion, is going to be one of the best airports in the country," he said. Abuyaro, who explained that a solid base is needed for the 3.5 kilometres runway, which he said will be the longest in the country, disclosed that all the hydraulic structures, which form the drainages and culverts for the runway, are being constructed now in other to speed up the job. He stated further that the form work for the precast drainages are already on ground and casting work is going on everyday so as to speed up job when the rai rain stops. Engr. Abuyaro noted that when completed, the airport will be one of the best and one with the longest runway in the country, saying that the length of the runway of an airport determines the aircraft the airport can accommodate. He said that the MKO International Airport is being built to accommodate the Boeing 737 aircraft series. Governor Aregbesola, who commended the company for its diligence to work, also inspected the East By-Pass Road to ensure that they contractors do quality job and delivered on agreed date. The project being handled by a Turkish company, Slava Yeditepe, is to complete the circle of rings around the state capital and ensure no traffic bottlenecks are created as the state capital witnesses rapid developments. http://worldstagegroup.com/index.php?active=news&newscid=11831&catid=27 |
Snapping the same road from different angles won't help your case mate. Are those things propping up that bridge pillars or sticks?
And what's the point in doing that? To impress you? Lol. |
...As the 2015 election approaches and Mr. Jonathan tries to invite the sympathy of Nigerians in his favor, we challenge him to prove— including in a court of law—that these reports have been “entirely fictional, malicious, hate-driven and scurrilous distortion of the facts.”Okay, just like that of being shoeless he used in 2011. |
@oga payless, why always go off topic with your comparism?! |
Things just keep getting worse for this country with sentiment, nepotism, tribalism, religion intolerance entering every sector. Same thing that has left us at this present backward stage. |
Hope he won't be repeating the same for #Osun2014. ![]() |
This is a good one from the FG if truly it'll be constructed. And I wish they reconstruct that of Ibadan-Ife-Ilesha right lane, that lane needs urgent attention. Abagworo: That road has been hell for some years now. It would have been a short cut from Benin to Ibadan crossing many towns in Southwest. Many! How?! I think it passes through just four major towns/cities: Akure, Ilesha, Ile-Ife and Ibadan. But it will connect more if Aregbe actually complete the dualization of Osogbo-gbogan junction road that links Ibadan-Ife express, because it will link Ede and Iwo. Making it to connect 7 towns/cities. |
anonimi: Maybe not.So you've descended this low in your reasoning that you couldn't even make any meaningful contribution on issues without mixing your bitter minded politics with everything. Pretend to be grown up sir for once. @topic, too bad for high school youths. |
Its not enough to make statements without adequately backing them up. Plese do the needful if you have the capability. What in your view makes one an "Awoist"?
They are few and simple, but GEJ is not just one. The brain, foresight, smartness... everything. |
A comparism of Awolowo's write-ups while in prison to that of GEJ's in Aso villa is one of the obvious dissimillarities between them. You comparism is like that of gold and wood, Awo being the gold.. ![]() |
Sammypeters: Hello! Eyin padi mi, the real issues is that pdp can be a better opposition but the only problem with that party is that they don't have a good legacy in osun state since the defunct AD lost power in Osun state!!Fact. |
pullyacap: Whoever that wants to challenge Aregbesola to an electoral duel just want to waste his or her hard earned moneyEven if it's waste of money, there should at least be an opposition, not the toothless ones in Osun, again it's not good for the state democracy. Remember it was obvious Fashola would win 2011 election, yet the opposition(Agbaje) in Lagos did something. |
This is one thing I think is not too good for the state, seems there is no one to challenge Aregbe. In Oyo, Ogun, and Ekiti, there are members within the incumbent governor's party anticipating to occupy their position, and even tougher ones in the opposition parties. But in Osun, Aregbe is having it too soft and easy, no strong candidate from the opposition, not to mention one within his party. Though he's doing wonderfully in transforming the state, but there is still need for a strong opposition. |
topazjosh: yea bro,but FG need to approve that which might involve lots of steps, meanwhile odsg need to seriously work on is IGR,I so wish there is seaport already and train service from coastal/southern part of the state to central partI'm not sure the Federal government is stopping any state that wants to build a seaport from building one. If I'm not wrong, Akwa Ibom built hers by herself, and I expect Ondo to do the same. |
I hope they will include 13% derivative to non oil producing states where federal government generate high revenue. States like Lagos should also start getting 13% derivative of the money the federal government earn in her territory apart from the monthly allocation, like it is for the oil producing states. |
Good to see Ondo state moving away from the league of one city(capital) state. Went to Akure few months ago, it looks well organized and beautiful. Kudos to Mimko for the transformation being witnessed in Ondo, but he needs to work more on the state IGR. He needs to start looking beyond the oil money being generated in the state and start to diversify the state's income. Ondo is one of the most resourceful states in the country, with Bitumen, good soil for agriculture, oil and industries. I see no reason why Ondo can't build her own seaport, and tap from one of the things that make Lagos the #1 state in the country. Ondo should be competing with the likes of Ogun and Oyo and not young states like Osun and Ekiti in term of IGR. Nice on @ op Ondo: Ise Loogun ise... Ondo A dara ooo ![]() |
Arysexy: Very sad dat APC decided to play politics with a tragic news like dis. We now know d mindset of some desperate Tinubu slave boys in d likes of Ngige and okorocha. They can go to any extent to grab power.Funny how you believed a balanced report from a newspaper site (the nation) that belongs to Tinubu , whom you have lambasted and his party of being desperate to have played politics with the pathetic tragedy. http://thenationonlineng.net/new/black-saturday-28-feared-dead-anambra-night-vigil-2/ Judge yourself |

iamSi: There's one more thing that needs drastic changes - Our TV/Radio Programs and contentsCorrect. Although I noticed a very good improvement in the studio settings and their presentation of recent, they still truly have to work on their programs and contents. |
An international hotel franchise chain, Best Western Hotels, will soon debut in Osogbo, the capital of the State of Osun.http://www.osundefender.org/?p=123564 |
geeez: I think he's being sarcasticOh, okay. |
SLIDE waxie: This is a lie!Red oyel ba?! |

spade: Na waa oh. With Ibadan airport, Lagos airport and now Osun airport, I just hope planes no go dey 'jam' for air oh.You forgot Akure airport, lol
Go sit down joor! Following your logic and reasoning, the Eastern Seaboard of the USA for dey experience plane crashes every day.
I thought as much |
