alj harem: This is what I don't like about you Lagos Ijebus. Una don start again
Onirus are not Ijebus, Lekki, Ajah and Badagry are exclusively not Ijebu You did not conquer. It was magomago of which Ijaws are doing now that you use to have those places
Badagry is only Ogu and Awori
The only Ijebu areas I know are Ikorodu, Epe/Ajah axis. NOT LEKKI. But it does not matter anyway, who cares if it is Awori, Ogu or ijebu or even ekiti. We are all Yorubas and that is what matters. Shymmexx, that is the koko alj harem: LOL well it just prove that you know nothing about the coastal people of the western Nigeria
1. The Eguns are Yorubas 2. The coastal part of Western Nigeria stating from Badagry to Warri are occupied by the following Egun (Badagry- Makoko, -Islands outsaid lagos), Awori (Badagry - Epe - Islands outside lagos), Ijebu ( Ikorodu - Epe), Ilaje ( Makoko - edge of delta state), Itsekiri ( Avocados to Warri)
Now with this setting, you can see it is very very very extremely difficult to PIN POINT WHICH IS IJAWLAND because each clan is end to end setting and inter-crossing each other in a beautiful display called Yoruba.
That is how I asked earlier how Toru-Ebe state would be formed. It is for this reason Ilajes fought Ijaws, Also Itsekiri
Why are they going to take what is not theirs and call it Ijawland. Even gelegele is Yorubiod word and NOT IJAW.
If you ask likes of Killayut to talk, he would say Apapa means groundnut, Kirikiri etc all of which have yoruba meaning
Ok What is Sabo in Yoruba, Nothing but should be annex that to Hausas because Sabo means new in Hausa.
Another one is Oyingbo which means an Igbo person in Igbo language does it mean it has no meaning in Yoruba so it is Igboland ?
NO
Lagos is peculiar and no group that is not of Yoruba origin can lay claim to it. Most Aworis are not even pure, they are either mixed with hausa, bini, etc and I am one of them and I am telling you the reality on ground.
I don't want you to waste your time with the western Nigeria land tussle, politics or power grab issue becasue you would be very surprise at the outcome.
It is a very complex situation in a very delicate balance that should not be tampered with. How many times have you even seen Itskiris who are in distant Delta shout about them not being yoruba or them being part of the Niger-delta republic. I tell you Nigeria can comprehend what is going on unless of course you are a COASTAL Yoruba person and can know Awolowo's plans. Yes Awolowo because he united us. ^^ Alhaji all these na story. Anyone that can't trace his history/origin back to Ile-Ife(city of 201 gods) is an outcast. Fixed |
Politics › Nigeria Is The New Center For Pirate Attacks In The World by PaulJohn1(op): 10:49pm On Jan 04, 2013 |
Published: Jan. 4, 2013 at 2:34 PM PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Nigeria has emerged as a new center for piracy, with the number of attacks steadily increasing despite the government's naval assets, authorities say.
In December 2012 alone, gunmen attacked three commercial vessels within six days, ransacking the ships and taking a total of nine crew members hostage, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
In 2012, there were 27 attacks off Nigeria's coast, said the International maritime Bureau. In 2011, there were 10 incidents of piracy and in 2010, 19.
Comparison can be made to Somalia, on the other side of the continent. But piracy dropped by two-thirds in Somalia last year, and Nigeria has, for Africa, impressive naval resources: warships, a frigate, a number of surveillance drones and 200 naval troops trained by the U.S. navy, as well as a 378-foot Coast Guard cutter.
However, the country has been stymied in the use of those resources. The naval troops are pulling duty land-side, helping to fight terrorists in the desert north. Much of the rest of the equipment has been idled in various states of disrepair or a lack of funding sucked away by corruption.
Shipping lines that hire Nigerian sailors complain they are not adequately trained. And there is the immensity of the task -- Nigeria sits along the 2,100-mile-long coast of the Gulf of Guinea, and pirates have attacked as far as four countries and 400 miles away. http://www.upi.com/Top_News/World-News/2013/01/04/Nigeria-seen-as-new-center-of-piracy/UPI-43551357328091/?spt=hs&or=tn |

bluebarz: I am a Town planner by profession, but have a fair knowledge on architecture since our disciplines are interrelated and inter-studied within the environmental science field. It will also please you to know that you don't have to study architecture in school or be an architect in order to be an architectural model maker, all you need know is the basics and some other few architectural guidelines. Nice models there man. Architecture is more than making beautiful models and having good drafting skills but managing space/void around you and making it function for it identified purpose. If you don't know the basics of architecture which is making functional and acceptable plan, there is nothing to make model of. It's your efficient design that'll give birth to whatever type of model you want to make. Modeling is just an end part of a project given, which is only good for presentation work(I.e. Gives your client better understanding of what you've designed for him). I'm not castigating modeling but it's getting out of use(not in institution), why not go for 3D(CAD) to save your time and reduce your stress. bluebarz: I am a Town planner by profession, but have a fair knowledge on architecture since our disciplines are interrelated and inter-studied within the environmental science field... Yes you're correct but you should have outlined the differences. Town planners I guess deals with planning and organization of an Urban center, Architects business is to follow the plan the town planners have made and designing the contents(buildings/structures,) found in the planned town(by the town planners). Good to have you here though, few environment sciences professionals on this forum. |

Foreign Affairs › Iran Willing To Resume Nuclear Talks With World Powers by PaulJohn1(op): 9:59pm On Jan 03, 2013 |
3/1/2013 Iran is said to be currently in contact with the world powers on possible meeting. A senior Iranian lawmaker said the country was willing to resume nuclear talks with the world powers, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Thursday.
Rapporteur of Iranian Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Hossien Naqavi-Hosseini, said that since Iran considers having a peaceful nuclear program as its right and can back its claim with legal documents, it is willing to negotiate with the UN Security Council to settle the standoff over its nuclear program, according to the report.
However, it seems that the world powers lack the determination to resolve Iran’s nuclear issue, he was quoted as saying. “In the course of the (past) nuclear talks, Iran has had maximum cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the P5+1(referring to the global powers),” Mr. Naqavi-Hosseini said.
He added that Iran “does not see real determination in the P5+1 to resolve the nuclear case.” Iranian officials have said that lifting sanctions is a primary step for the success of Iran’s future nuclear talks with the world powers.
Iran has also reiterated that its right of nuclear enrichment for civilian ends should be recognized by the world powers. Iran and the world powers including the US and the UK have held several rounds of talks over its controversial nuclear program, but no agreement has been reached so far.
Both sides are currently in contacts to prepare the grounds for another round of meeting. Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator said on Wednesday that Tehran welcomes the readiness of the six major world powers to hold constructive talks with the country, according to Press TV.
Saeed Jalili, who is in New Delhi on an official visit, added that “just as Iran feels obligated to act within the framework of the IAEA regulations and in line with the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), it is adamant on asserting its rights within the same framework.”
The U.S. cannot impose its arbitrary “less-rights-and- more-obligations’’ model on the Iranian nation on the nuclear issue, Mr. Jalili was quoted as saying. The West has accused Iran of secretly developing nuclear weapons under the guise of its civilian nuclear program, a charge Tehran has consistently denied.
The five permanent members of the Security Council are the U.S., Britain, France, Russia and China — plus Germany, known as P5+1. http://premiumtimesng.com/news/113693-iran-willing-to-resume-nuclear-talks-with-world-powers.html

Gbawe: Don't mind the shameless mischief-maker. Beaf trained him and others well in the art of weasel-like and ignoble conduct. How can he reconcile the title of his thread with the content? Is Osun the only State mentioned for his thread to be titled as it is? Is there not even a section of the article where the spokesman of Aregbesola states that Osun has complied with paying the minimum wage? The chap is simply as slimy, unprincipled and as slithering as Beaf was. That fool too (Beaf) never stopped obsessing about Aregbesola 24/7 while his own State Governor (Uduaghan) was running his Delta State into the ground without so much as a peep from his cowardly and lying tongue.
