I hope Nigerians and tribes in Nigeria will learn from this.

Also, I think the GREENWHITE COALITION should also reach out to other media form, that would be more informative and better in publicizing. I mean the television and the Newspaper.

Nebeuwa: You silly people. The United States is kind to its allies.

Countries that have benefited from the United States largesse include:

-South Korea (After Korean War)
-Japan (After WWII)
-Western Europe (After WWII)

Wouldn't you want to be like these nations instead of nations that have chosen the path of enemy? Choose wisely. The United States doesn't forget countries that are allied with them.
Sorry for bothering you. I'll like it if you can also list any African country or middle East countries that have benefited from US
US don't help people they're not going to benefit from. It might seem they help a country without any hidden interest in the short term, but in the long run it's reverse. Let's be wise bro

dasparrow: Well said. The problem is that most Nigerians won't listen until it is too late. In addition to that, the western countries are going down the drain so gone are the days when as Nigerians we can say, well we can always migrate to oyibo land and start a new life. The western nations are tighthening their borders and anti-immigrant sentiments continue to get worse in these countries. Yet, our people will use their hand to destroy the only homeland we've got by inviting in america to help them turn their country into a perpetual wasteland.

I have suggested times without number that we Nigerians must find a way to solve our own problems. If we cannot successfully do that, we should enlist the help of our fellow west african brothers and sisters. If that fails, we should enlist the help of other black African nations. Going to the western imperialists should never be an option for us but will Nigerians listen? By the time they relaize that america and europe does not and has never meant well for them, it will be too late. Nigerians will become wanderers with no place to call 'home' anymore, dispised and rejected by nations from around the world. Mark my words.
You part of the few Nigerians that are literate in this matter, good suggestion from you bro.

spyder880: Better than being recognized as a BIG laughing stork.
Of course, it's by far better. But I think it's better we find a solution to it ourselves and breaking up should be the last option. And if at all we're breaking up, I think it would be better we do that ourselves rather than inviting internation bodies. Invitation of the US would be the worst solution that can ever happen. I don't think you know much about those countries invaded by the US before and after the invasion.

shymmex: Why do they even care?

Are we as Nigerians/Africans not tired of people who don't care about us proffering solutions for our problems?

Why do we always have to be spoon-fed by the devil? And we wonder why they show those starving children on TV, and why we're stuck in the medieval age..

African problems need African solutions - Somalia is an example of US intervention gone wrong in Africa...
My bro it's funny to me with the comments some ignorant people are giving here on NL. The best thing that the US can give you is what will be beneficial to them in the long run.
Here are the list of some countries that the US has intervened and their situation got worsen
-Libya
-Iraq
-vietnam
-Somalia
Etc. We all remember how strong and developed Iraq was before the invasion of the US. But it heat me hard when some people ignorantly pray for the intervention of the US in my beloved country. I'm not saying the situation presently is favorable, but we should come together and reason, identify our problems and find possible solutions to them. But the illiteracy in the North and the disunity between the Southern regions pose a great barrier.

One thing is certain if the break up eventually happen, the recognition of each formed republic(from the broken Nigeria)in Africa not to talk of the world would not be different from the ones countries like Mozambique, Namibia etc has. But lot of us are ignorant of this.
I pray we realize this before it's too late cry

Politics › Ogun Population Will Explode In 2013- Says NPC Boss by PaulJohn1(op): 10:10am On Jul 10, 2012
Ogun State might not be able to accommodate the teeming number of people living in and migrating to the state by 2013

Ogun State might not be able to cope with its population by 2013, if government does not prepare logistics to work out the growing population, the National Population Commission (NPC) has said.

According to the NPC, the population in Ogun state is fast increasing and can be attributed to the influx of people from neighbouring states into its territory.

The NPC’s Federal Commissioner, Seyi Aderinokun-Olusanya , who spoke at a press conference in commemoration of the 2012 World Population Day, said it is imperative for the state government to start preparing its budget to meet up the challenges associated with population growth, in the interest of the citizens and residents.

The Commissioner explained that statistics show that many workers in the neigbouring states now reside in Ogun State. She held that the migration has reached an alarming stage and should be a source of concern to the state government.

“Every survey indicates that Ogun State population will be bloated, hence the need for government to start projecting for the future. Ogun State population is exploding,” Ms. Aderinokum-Olusanya said.

She said that the commission would give out regular statistics to help the state make its projection, adding that the state government should endeavor to collaborate with the commission.

The  NPC boss disclosed that of the 1,724 persons who died in 2011, 1,164 comprised of males and 560 were females.

In the same vein, on the birth record of the same year, 55,113 males were born while 53,844 females were given birth to.  She however, noted that people are reluctant to release birth records because of ignorance.

The commission, according to Ms. Aderinokun-Okunsanya, has 105 birth/death registration centres across the state and is spread all over the twenty local government areas.

9ja voice: Igbo Yoruba unity a way out:
why can't igbo's and yoruba's unite, the only union that will destroy hausa/fulani's plots on us.
Blames blames blames, igbo blame yoruba and yoruba blame igbo but none of this blames is worthy of stoping unity and free ourself from slavery.
Can Igbos or Yoruba alone be free without colaborating with another, it is almost impossible therefore we need each other.
Why can't we work and agree since we both desired to be free,
a)igbo's want to apply all option no matter the price, naturaly that is the way igbos are.
b)yorubas want a kind of protest measures and news paper agitation alone do the job, naturaly that is a typical yoruba man.
Note: Igbo's blv where words fail something else can work While Yoruba's blv if words fail just wait and talk next time and talk & talk.
looking at the kind of people hausa/fulani's are the question should be which option is better: ans it yourself
But the major issue here is untill we come together.
My bro you are very right, we all want freedom, and the only way that seem realistic is the unity of Igbo and Yoruba. But the way things are, non of the two tribes wants to lay low of coming to agreement. The Ego thing that has been hindering us is still there.
The trust is not there and none of the tribes want to risk been outsmarted by the other.

There is one thing that is certain, no tribe is a saint. But we keep on deceiving ourselves by putting blames on each other and claiming that we are better than ourselves. All these are what have been blindfolding us all from seeing the truth. Not until we reason together and fight our common enemy, we will all remain on the same spot.

The SS region that should be like the paradise of Africa is one of the worst place in the country called "Nigeria". A region that have the riches of the world is been enslaved by some illiterate retarded group of people. But I won't blame them since the tribes(York's and Igloo) that should take the lead are confused and don't know their responsibility.

I'm not in position to blame any of the so called past heroes(Ojukwu and Awo) of the two tribes. We found ourselves enslaved all because Awo want to retaliate the Easterners of the Independence Zik denied him before 1960(this I don't want to turn into any argument, but for us to remember the insane reason why we are still in our predicament). And the same deadly part Tinubu is following presently.

Just to deviate a little from the OPs topic. Looking at the glories these tribes(Igbo and Yoruba) have brought to this country, they are immeasurable compared to those of core North.

Apologies to other Southern tribes I didn't mention, I just have to let the tribes all hope are on to realize the need to wake up from their slumber and nothing more. Let just imagine a nation(SS,SE and SW) free from the captive of the Hausa/Fulani.

One thing I know is close to certainty, ACN will loss at least a state in the West and vice versa in south-south.
What I think the result might be, come next election:
-Osun is certainly ACN continual(PDP is the least part Osun people would ever vote for)
-Oyo is not certain for ACN (Oyo state politics is a term reign by any party)
-Lagos ACN
-Ekiti ACN
-Ogun is not certain
-Bayelsa is not sure for PDP
-Rivers PDP
-Akwa Ibom is aswell not certain for PDP
-Rivers not certain (Depending on ACN candidate)
-Edo is for ACN
-Cross River for PDP
-Ondo is likely to join ACN

Politics › Ogun Police Recovers N3billion Worth Of Property In Four Months by PaulJohn1(op): 9:09am On Jun 23, 2012
The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Okoye Ikemefuna, says that he has tamed the spate of criminal activities in the State.

The Ogun State Police Command says that it recovered property worth N3billion from criminals in the last four months of its operations in the state
and its environs.

The Ogun State Police also said that in that time, the force apprehended 96 suspected armed robbers.

The Commissioner of Police, Okoye Ikemefuna, made this known to newsmen at Eleweran Police Headquarters, Abeokuta. He also released the summary of achievements and statistics of the major crime recorded.

He explained that the summary covers the period between March and June, 2012, adding that the command arrested 18 cultists, 10 kidnappers and 49 murder suspects. He also said that 37 arms and 385 ammunitions were recovered while 198 suspects were charged to court.

The commissioner, who resumed duty in March, admitted that there are many security challenges in Abeokuta, ranging from bank robbery which led to the closure of some banks; to kidnapping; car snatching, and murder cases.

Mr. Ikemefuna said that he has curbed the security challenges.

“The command wishes to state that presently in the state, all these have been drastically reduced to their barest minimum and records on ground can show for it. By and large, the command wishes to state without mincing words that sigh of relief has come upon the state within the last few months I took over,” he said.

He held that residents of Abeokuta helped in sharing information and supporting the police in combating crime, saying “they have accepted the concept of community policing which has assisted us immensely”.

“I wish to encourage them to add more pep in this area and see security as a collective responsibility, as the command will not relent on its effort to make Ogun State as a safe arena for all and sundry,” the commissioner said.

alj harem: My brother, I have told you the truth. It is up to you to accept it or run away from it as usual as I stated earlier. Real life I can say 90 % of Yoruba tribalist here would not even be tribalistic but Nairaland turn them to what they are.

Oh I remember how Syxmexx, Jason, Dayokanu, Ileke idi etc all started compare to now. The sooner you Nairaland Igbos realise that Yorubas have nothing against Igbos and infact we are you only allies the better it is for "southern Nigeria" or Nigeria.

Most of you Igbos are just insecure and paranoid when a yoruba man speaks his language or something but NO YORUBA PERSON WOULD SAY THE SAME ABOUT IGBOS fact !!!

All in all, that is the past. The sooner you see US YORUBAS AS YOUR BROTHERS, SISTERS, COUSINS ETC Just as we see Igbos then the better for everyone else.

All this hate and propaganda against yoruba would only end to your demise. FACT ! Just saying

I would never ever support a Yoruba bigot real life or even on cyber world. I hope Ndigbo nairaland can do the same and stop being hypocritical. Thanks for the talk chyz smiley
My bro you have spoken my mind. I can remember very well the like of 'shymmex' who preached against tribalism when he got to NL 3-4 months ago. But now you can't mention top six tribalist on NL without shymmex on the list, it's a pity. I'm sure the dislike for Igbo here on NL is really not in real life, but I don't know of the vice versa in the East.
I hope tribalist her on NL would be cautious with what they post, because it changes the mind set of younger generation who has never thought of anything of tribalism. I had the same problem at first when I joined NL: I have a very close friend from Imo whom we stay together here in LAG. Suddenly, I started getting cautious with the way I relates with him just because of the right ups here on NL, but was later able to suppress that urge.
I just wish we can all get our head straighten up and do away with all these tribalism thing. The earlier we(Alj harem u inclusive) realise no tribe is a saint the better.
