Politics › Re: Ndigbo: What Projects Have Our Federal Representatives Brought To Igboland? by PaulJohn1: 5:45pm On Jun 01, 2012
@ OP I'm not Igbo, but I'll tell you that this present government (people we think are representing us)are there for their own interest, just few of them are willing to cater for their people. It's not only the Igbo that're experiencing this, but everyone group in this country.

Imagine me voting for a corrupt person, all because he's from my tribe, at last I'll be the one that it's gonna pain most, because I expected him to be a benefit to my tribe.

We're all gonna progress when we speak in one voice and put a credible and non bias man as our leader.

Let me hint you
During OBJ time
-He stop funding Lagos just because he wants to show superiority to Tinubu he has, and making a state of 10million citizen(estim. Then) go through hell.

GEJ now
-How has him being the president better the lives of Ijaw people, and save them from their creek?
Yar'Adua even did better by listening to the MEND and doing something for them.

Bro. Until we shun tribalism and vote for a competent leader, we're all gonna remain stagnant.

Politics › Re: Osun People Are Losing Confidence In Aregbe by PaulJohn1: 8:33pm On May 27, 2012
maasoap: I'm not saying he won't deliver but why the delay? At least, I expect the issue of water scarcity to have been solved by now. But it is like we have to wait longer. Some people are even saying that he wants to accumulate enough money for all projects to begin at once, but how is that possible? Last raining season, he told us to wait till dry season for public works to begin. But no works during dry season. Some commissioners of his have been repeating the same thing this year.
@maasoap, it's as if you understand a bit. But what's the total income of Osun that you want the governor to start all projects at a goal. Presently, the guy is working on road, no part of the state is not experiencing transformation in this sector, you can bear me witness if you stay there or you were there of recent. The education sector is as well improving, building new schools and renovating old ones, he brought down the high tuition fee of the state university founded by the former gov.

So bro,Lets appreciate the guy. It's a step at a time.
Politics › Re: What If There Is No Oil In Nigeria ? by PaulJohn1: 7:51pm On May 27, 2012
alj harem: You can say that again, wink Egbon
Bro, it's the fact.
Okay, Why has Dubai(UAE), Saudi Arabia been flourishing? It's this same oil they have, but with better management and gov.
We really need to sit tight and get things done, not this chop make I chop our gov. does.
Politics › Re: Osun People Are Losing Confidence In Aregbe by PaulJohn1: 7:35pm On May 27, 2012
alj harem: My brother Osun citizens are complaining but they are not talking. Aregbesola has not done anything he said in his campaign and I am sure you are aware of that.

By now there should be a train network being built from Osun to Lagos by now.

It seems like other ACN governors are sleeping apart from Oshomiole and Fashola
My bro. I don't have the time to be listing what Aregbe is doing. I will only debate with anyone who has been to Osun of recent and is not yet convinced.

We all know how this PDP guys play their games, don't conclude on what you read in papers. Seeing is believing.
Beaf: ^
The OP is a grassroots ACN member.
My man Beaf, I'm not a politician and might never be one, weather the OP is a grass roots ACN member or not, that doesn't justify his right up. Hell with all this part thing, all we need is a competent leader.
Politics › Re: What If There Is No Oil In Nigeria ? by PaulJohn1: 7:13pm On May 27, 2012
If there is no oil in Nigeria

-S/South would have been MEND free
They would have been living in happiness without much pressure from FG.

-S/West wouldn't have been so lazy to forget about their Cocoa farming.

-S/East wouldn't have too lousy to forget about their palm oil.

-North would have been free from Boko Haram
They might have been more civilized than they presently are.

Finally, Corruption would have been in it's minimum level and no region would have been too dependent on S/South for Oil money.

NB: Oil is a blessing to us and not course, but we're been led by the wrong leaders and blindfolded by tribalism.
Politics › Re: A Top Nigerian Cardiolosgist Has Been Named Among Top Cardiologist In New York. by PaulJohn1: 6:39pm On May 27, 2012
gerald28: My dear people of nigeria, i thought they say they nigeria is made up of 260 tribes, so why is it that this igbo and Yoruba people are more successful in their area of endeavor, whatever they put their hands in succeeds. What is an Ijaw man doing? what is Berom dong? what is Itshekiri doing/ what is Uhrobo doing? what are the remianing 258 tribs doing that they allow these group of people dominate in everything both outside and within the country. My heart bleeds for this country, is it that other tribes, mine inclusive are not capable intellectually. If it is not Yoruba today it is Igbo tomorrow, if it is not Igbo tomorrow is is youruba. Are they the only people that are educatedhuhhuh What could be the reason for this ugly trend, yes ugly trend, how can a country of 260 tribes be so unproductive that it is only two tribes are making waves in and outside the country. We must look inward and see where our problem lies. This is not something to keep quiet about, we must adopt an austerity measure to nudge the rest of the tribes into productivity and usefulness for to good of humanity.
Now, imagine how it'll look like if these two groups(Igbo, Yoruba) are united, how progressive they would have been. SMH
Politics › Re: Osun People Are Losing Confidence In Aregbe by PaulJohn1: 6:12pm On May 27, 2012
@OP Have you of recent been to Osun and the people there said as you've claimed, Or you're just assuming?

Because, it's of recent I went to Osun and I didn't ear any complain about him not working.

I asked one of my family member who lives there how the gov. is doing, the reply was that "the guy is really working but have this extremist thing in him".

I'll love the OP to please give link to his post.

Seun is too stingy to do that. i jammed Nairaland accidentally.
Nairaland General › Re: Nairaland 1 Million Membership by PaulJohn1: 1:35pm On May 21, 2012
Bontee: Those numbers up there are not active members, check around the homepage or at the bottom then you will see the number of active members each day ( Both registered and guest ). One thing i have come to realize is that, nairaland got this huge membership on the
cheap and to imagine that facebook is on a race to one billion members.

Other forums would have been more innovative than nairaland if they could have such large number of members but nairaland is so lacking and just resting on advertising income. New innovation will make more money in the future than nairaland, check dealfish, iroko partners and so many more.

With all due respect nairaland is a sad reflection of nigeria, just big and depending on one source of income like nigeria. Google started with search but see where they are today, iroko partners and dealfish are moving with break taking space while nairalist is going down. Nairaland has the largest free collection of intellectuals of mostly nigerian origin but sadly they could not leverage upon that.

Trust me you really need to dig well and you will see the amount of talent and opportunities embedded here but when the management is solely Nigerian then just expect disappointing incompetence ( in most cases ). The companies that would take over nigerian internet space will be from abroad or will have support from abroad. Iroko partners is now trying to be a company while nairaland still wants to be a one man business and corner all the revenue. It won't last and facebook will not be what it is today if it was still run by mark alone.
I'm very in support of you on this. Seun believes since there's money to feed himself, his family and the moderators, all is well. No need for expansion.
Nairaland General › Re: NAIRALANDERS:: Whats Your Take On The New Attitude Of Mods To Deleting Posts.. by PaulJohn1: 1:25pm On May 21, 2012
I'm won't say I'm in support of the moderators deleting post, but do we guys really think about what we wanna type before doing so at all? Most of gives comments that we can't take from anyone on a normal day, but we dish it out base on the fact that there is visual communication. I don't believe the mods dare delete any post except it's one way or the other unpleasant. Just my own view.
Politics › Re: Uweh: You Need To Visit, Yorubaland by PaulJohn1: 3:16am On May 21, 2012
Andre Uweh: @The O.P
Since when has Bini bronze heads become Yoruba bronze heads?.
Guy you're so funny. Please next time don't jump to conclusion on what you don't know about. I'm sure you've never been to Ife, I think it's better you go there and see your self. You'll get tired of seeing statues like those ones in those pix and the ones that are far more cherrieshable and historical than those ones. More so, do you know anything about the relationship between Ife and Benin kingdom at all? Go and study your history books well. The founder of Benin kingdom was a prince from Ife, so as that of oyo township in Oyo state. To simplify it for you, check out this on your encarta premium 2007 precisely (Nigeria: The Yoruba). Please, don't let's debate on unnecessary things.
Politics › Re: Uweh: You Need To Visit, Yorubaland by PaulJohn1: 2:16am On May 21, 2012
I've been to some of the places in the pix. They're really amazing, like the Erin-Ijesa water fall, water drops from seven mountains. The seventh mountain leads to Ekiti state from Osun state. NB: if you're afraid of height, don't dare climbing those mountains, just stay at stage one. At stage two of the mountain is where a white man was buried, I think he died while doing some research about the water fall. Stage three is worst, not easy to climb as seen in the pix.

...It's a lot of fun when I went there.

I've also been to those statues of over a thousand year, I think they're in Ofa or near Ofa in Kwara state.

....Primary/ secondary school days were lots of fun. Excursion wasn't taken for joke...

Another place I'll like you guys to visit is the zoo at UI in Ibadan, don't have time enlighten you guys, it's better you visit your self, it was fun.

chino24: These are rural states that has little or no need for power.

In an organized clime rural states as this are converted into a huge agricultural land for cultivation of food items.

There are few states in Nigeria that really need this light for there continue industrialization and economic activities.

Viz-a-viz: Lagos, Rivers, Anambra and Kano states.
Guy aw far now. Wetin, u dey vex gan o. States(Ekiti & Ondo) of about 6million people, which is more than the population of countries like Norway, Sweden. Be considerate naa.
Politics › Re: Ondo & Ekiti States In Total Blackout For 7days And Still Counting? by PaulJohn1: 1:13am On May 19, 2012
Babakenny: Both Ondo and Ekiti states are totally shut out of electricity supply for nearly 7 days now. It started on Friday 6th May,2012 up till now and today makes it a week.

What I don't understand is why government is not doing anything to address the situation. I don't know if the problem affect Osogbo too, because that's where the supply comes from to both Ondo and Ekiti States.. This is barbaric and only God knows when this nation will develop from erractic supply of electricity or should I call it no 'electricity at all?'

Give us light oooo so that we can watch the CHELSEA match tomorrow...

Up CHELSEA!!! WE ARE NEW CHAMPION!!!!!
For Oshogbo, light dey constant as usual. Just arrived Osogbo from Lagos, o boy light dey everywhere. Street light wey dey inside bush sef get light. Osogbo too dey waste power, at times dem dey get light for 20 hours in a day. Wish it's like this in Lagos.
