bashr8: show u the proof of accomodation in yoruba states of osun , ondo , ekiti and ogun. outside lagos that is federal capital .@bashr8 u're very wrong by saying it's only Lagos that is accommodating among the yoruba states. Have you ever been to Osun state before? Go there and know what up yourself. There are lots of Igbo guys living there that may never think of going back to their home town to reside. Lots of Fulanis/Hausa that have their bread and butter there. The once(Igbo) we even live together don't even bother going home for Christmas, except for may be burial of family ceremony. Please go there and see yourself and stop saying what you're not sure of. |
this is a useless thread, who cares on a nigeria website. People dont give a shiit about this..
@Musiwa I expected better comment from you. Why is the thread useless? Just because she's not from your side. Please let's appreciate what's good. Congrats to the madam sha. |
bla bla bla bla. . . .Do they need to broadcast the idea to the whole world ? Osama was smart enough to know that CIA was using the satellite for him, he once worked with them so he knew how the CIA operate, but there was no way to hide from them.
Shut up your mouth toddler. Did American government inform Pakistani government before they surreptitiously entered their country and killed Osama ? Does CIA issue drone alert before attacking militants in Afghanistan ? Mschew only in Nigeria folks think with their an-us.nonsense
@bluetooth you think Osama himself didn't know that the CIA is using satellite to trace his movement? Of course he does, because there is no way you can run from it. If our security are diligent enough they will get these guys(BH), it just a matter of time. |
I have also been thinking the moderator should do that, but thing post is not childs play |
I'm out of words now. But I'm appealing to everyone us to please pray for Nigeria. There is nothing too big for GOD. So unfortunate a religion like this exist in this world of ours. |

GOD bless Lagos. Eko o ni baje o. O baje ti |
Thanks beaf man, I think it's time we start praticing true federalism in this country of ours. Then, states will look inward and find out what they've got. |
Seriously?! Ogun, lagos and ondo has petroleum. It's now I believe 9ja is blessed. |
The record to beat all records: 68-goal. Lionel Messi is the greatest goalscorer the game has ever seen The Argentine hit two penalties and added a cool third to complete his hat-trick in the 4-1 win over Malaga on Wednesday, and became Europe's all-time topscorer in a sole season. It was Lionel Messi's saddest week. Defeat to Real Madrid in the Clasico at Camp Nou saw Barcelona relinquish La Liga and there was further personal pain as the Argentine missed a penalty and saw his side lose out to Chelsea in the Champions League semi-finals. There were tears of tristesse, there was sorrow and there was suffering. And two days later, Messi was left inconsolable as Pep Guardiola announced his decision to leave the Catalan club this summer. Leo's life had looked so perfect. Now, on the football field at least, it was falling apart. Two goals in the 7-0 rout of Rayo on Sunday barely brought a smile back to Barca - or to Messi - but as the Camp Nou crowd celebrated their coach on Wednesday, there was some cheer for their prized player as well. EUROPE'S TOP 10 GREATEST GOALSCORING SEASONS PLAYERCLUBGOALSSEASON Lionel Messi (Argentina)Barcelona68+2011-12 Gerd Muller (West Germany) Bayern Munich 67 1972-73 Ferenc Deak (Hungary) Szentlorinc 66 1945-46 Gyula Zsengeller (Hungary) Ujpest 65 1938-39 Dixie Dean (England) Everton 63 1927-28 Jimmy McGrory (Scotland) Celtic 62 1927-28 Refik Resmja (Albania) Partizani Tirana 59 1950-51 Jimmy McGrory (Scotland) Celtic 59 1926-27 Fred Roberts (Ireland) Glentoran 59 1930-31 Ferenc Deak (Hungary) Ferencvarosi 59 1948-49 Messi's hat-trick in the 4-1 win over Malaga will not stop Madrid from winning La Liga, but it did bring another accolade to the Argentine: he is now the highest-ever scorer in a European campaign with 68 goals this term (including a record 46 in the Primera Division, and an all-time high of 14 in the Champions League). When Leo struck 53 in 2010-11 to tie with Cristiano Ronaldo on goals scored last season, he was still only 23. "I have yet to reach my peak," he claimed. Such a statement must have represented a petrifying prospect for rival defences. How many goals would he hit in the coming campaigns? The sky, it seems, is the limit for the brilliant Ballon d'Or winner of the last three years. Having surpassed his high from 2010-11 and reached 60 strikes in early April, Gerd Muller's all-time mark of 67 looked set to be smashed sooner or later. Ferenc Deak (Hungary) Ferencvarosi 59 1948-49 And now it has been. Having failed to net in either of the games against Chelsea and also in the Clasico at home to Madrid, Messi has hit five in his last two appearances to rewrite the record books once more and move to within two goals of 70 for the season, with a possible three further fixtures yet to play. And while he was unable to inspire his side in the decisive dates recently, the Argentine has been instrumental this term as Barca have added the Spanish Supercopa, the Uefa Super Cup and the Club World Cup to their trophy collection, with the possibility of a Copa del Rey to come in what will be Guardiola's last match as coach. So as the Camp Nou lamented the loss of the two top titles and the dignified departure of their best-ever boss, there remain reasons to be optimistic, starting with their Mr Messi. He's going nowhere. And that's surely the best news of all for Barcelona. Everyone else, meanwhile, should just sit back and enjoy this wonderful player and his amazing achievement: Messi is the greatest goalscorer the game has ever seen - and this record may never, ever be broken. http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2012/05/02/3073549/the-record-to-beat-all-records-68-goal-lionel-messi-is-the |

Ilaje44: Alhaji alaya yi yeye must be a linguistical guru for him to have been able to mystify you lot. Much respect young Alhaji. Weiter so!I'm realy interested in this post, but @ilaje 44 I get confused with some of the words u've written in yoruba. I'm from osun state. I believe I should be able to understand everything since all yorubas originated from Ile-Ife(osun). Just confused. Can you please explain, the relationship of the Ilaje's, edo people and urobo to the yorubas. Four years ago, on my way to abuja I got to Ekiti. I was stopped by on the law efforcement agent, and we happen to have someone from Ekiti in our bus. We where questioned about some documents we were not able to produce, then one of us that was from Ekitit started communicating with them in Ekiti, seroisly I couldn't understand anything, not even a word. And we're all yorubas. Can u please explain how, I'm confused. Thanks. |

Nigeria’s population will increase by more than half by 2050, a United Nations’ forecast said on Thursday. The country’s current population is put at 167 million but according to the latest revisions in the study titled ‘World Urbanisation Prospects, released by the UN on Wednesday, Nigeria will see the fastest urban population growth in the next 40 years, with its cities expected to add 200 million people. India’s cities are to add 497 million, increasing the current total population by more than 40 percent; and Indonesia’s cities are set to add 92 million people, about a 38 per cent increase in its total population. According to the forecast, US cities are to add 103 million people, raising the country’s total population by a third, while China is due to boost its total population by a quarter, with an increase of 341 million in its cities. The report said Africa’s urban population would increase from the current 414 million to over 1.2 billion by 2050, while Asia would increase from 1.9 billion to 3.3 billion. It warned however that the unprecedented rise in urban populations would pose new challenges, including shortages of food, jobs, housing, energy, infrastructure and a deterioration of the urban environment. On the positive said, the report said the increase would provide new opportunities to improve education and public services in both Africa and Asia, “as more concentrated populations become easier to reach”. An Assistant secretary-General in the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Mr. Jomo Sundaram, gave two reasons for the rapid growth of urban populations in Africa. He told the International Press Service, “Firstly, Africa has still very high rate of ‘natural’ population growth – both in urban and rural areas. “The population in cities and urban agglomerations increases because there are significantly more births than deaths. “Secondly, Africa’s level of urbanisation has been relatively low, so the continent is now “catching up” with other major regions. “In some parts of Africa, scarcity of available arable and pastoral land is probably contributing to rural-urban migration.” According to the UN, half the world’s seven billion people live in cities at present. http://www.punchng.com/news/nigeria-population-to-hit-367-million-in-2050-un/ |
Yes, I believe nigeria can get better. People complain about the government, we say lot of things about the government been greedy, corrupt and the rest. But i'll like us to ask ourselves this: 'are we going to do what right when we have the power in our hands'. Definately, our leaders we're complaining about would have once been in our position, complaining about the government then. And I believe one day we that are complaining today would be the one managing the country, are we going to do what's really right in our own time? |
Seriously! But this osun state governor is totaly strange compared to other politicians in 9ja. Although he's a strong muslim, he makes life meaninful for everyone in d state. If you visit osun during the christmas period u'll understand better. Christmas was celebrated as if everyone in the state was a christain, of which muslims are likely to be more than christains. And his government is providing free inter-state transport for easter! How sweet wuld it have been, if we Nigerians can learn to love ourselves without tribal war, religious crises and the rest. |
OBJ! Don't like the man, but like his leadership technique. |
sorry o,my broda, let me deviate a bit, u seem to like 9ja as it is united, which i want also, but i am having a problem about ethnic group and marriage, why is it dat an urhobo man is not allowed to marry a yoruba lady, am saying thir becos it is happenin to me rite nw, am lovin a lady 4rm osun state, but the father has specified d same tribe as husband 4 his daughters is dat fair?
Man, sorry for that situation u find yourself in. It's not like that all over, it's what the parents of the lady wanted. It's different in my own family. My parents are both yorubas, they don't give a damn about where anyone i love came from. All they want is a reasonable person. All these tribal thing in 9ja, i believe it suld be old story. We suld luk forward and face other things. Whish u goodluck bro with ur love. |
What u're saying in short is that improrted cars don't have mechanical fault that leads to accident. Even though i get injured in this bus, as long i'm still alive no problem. God bless 9ja |
This is interesting, i can't wait to see this bus or even enter this bus to pick up from ikorodu to Ketu. All these tata(iseoluwa) buses and all these not Nigerian made BRT buses should be sent out of Lagos. I no won know weather na Ibo or Ijaw do am, all i care about is to spend my money on Nigerian made products. But i think the management of this company suld try and break into Lagos market, ones they achieve that, they suldn't heve problem in W/Africa and the rest of Africa markets. No go think am o, i be original yoruba boy 4rm the souce "Osun state", but all i want is a united progressive Nigeria. GOD BLESS NIGERIA(Hausa, Ibo, Yoruba and other tribes). |
Good day too all nairalanders and the NL owners.lots of arguments and criticism has been on due to the changes or inovation of the new NL(NL2). I've always been an addict to NL for a longtime, most times I visit NL at least five times in a day. Although I don't really give comments b'cause I don't like the way most users insult and exchange words with other users. But I'm now forced to create a topic this time in just to advice NL management concerning this new version of NL. Personally, I don't have any problem with this new version, but majority of the users prefer the former version to this new one. But the way things are going, it's as if the management is turning deaf ears to users. The advice I'll give the management is this: No matter how much you think u're doing the right thing, one the people who u're doing this for are not interested or are complaining on what u're doing to please them, i think it's better u reverse ur act. It might result to what is gonna shuck you. And too all Nairalanders, I like us to please be patient with Seun, it's not too easy as we think it is managing something like this. Users suggesting other users migrating from NL to other informative site, i'll like us to please at least give Seun and his management team some time starting from now to the end of this month, to decide if they still wants to us to visit this site(NL) again, by giving us something befitting to the old Nl and the new one or they'll go back to the former Nl. I believe Seun is a reasonable man to choose between what he prefers and what his people wants. Please, any comments and replies should be frank and positive. Thanks. |
Gud for them |
Due to the revolution going on in Libya where rebels are going against the leadership of Gaddafi, disagreement came into being among African Countries on whether to put the NTC (National Transition Council) into recognition as the Libya's governing council. Most countries in Africa backed South Africa on not recognizing them as the Governing council, while Nigeria and countries like Senegal and Botswana supported the council as the governing council. The questions now are: Which of the countries is right? Which of the countries is not having any interior motive for it's action? Who should have the say? From peoples comments. They said the NTC is a council set up by the U.S. with the motive of securing a guarantee in Libya's oil once the country starts practicing democracy, since the council was been supported by the U.S. in overcoming Gaddafi. Nigeria Government also supported the council as been recognized as the governing council of the country, but Nigeria may also be doing this because the U.S. have its method of convincing the Nigerian Government in her support. Now, looking at the other African Countries going against the council may also have their own intention. These countries going against the NTC are been headed mainly by South Africa. And the reason why South Africa may be in support of Gaddafi is because of the the relationship that was existing when Gaddafi was in power. So, I'm giving out this points for Nairalanders to deliberate on the topic and let us know who is right about the recognition of NTC in Libya. No one can really be trusted. Lastly, nairalanders I'm really confused about the country that has more say in AU, whether it is Nigeria or South Africa. |
Haha! I doubt it. Or Mr. poster u're just wishing it could be holiday |
Yes Mr. poster. Many Nigerians prefer studying abroad. This is the fact that, many Nigerian companies, offices, Administration.etc. prefer employing a person with a foreign certificate to those carrying a certificate obtained in Nigeria, my Dad and I just discussed that this morning. This made my brother fly out the country to run his Masters degree program, and by God's grace I would also do that as soon as I'm through with my degree program. When we Nigerians do not appreciate what we're having, how do u want it to be appreciated abroad. This provided us with no option than to leave the country to obtain a certificate that would provide us job in the Country. |
