Loving the Abraham Lincoln quote. We have walked 'very fast' for 16 years, let us see what walking slowly would yield! ![]() |
egift:“The man had a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ukrainian authorities to supply arms and ammunition of that amount to the Federal Government. The man told our operatives that even though the full money has been paid, the arms are still left in Ukraine''.......The deal from the onset smack of parties wanting to outsmart each other. |
@excel234, I totally share your view. For many of the IPOB crew any igbo who do not share their views has his or her ancestry questioned forgetting that despite Jesus Christ coming from the Jewish stock did not make all the Jews convert to Christianity as Judaism is still the identity of the Jews and no Jew's identity has been questioned for not embracing Christianity. It is not as if being a Biafran will increase my chances of spending my eternity in Heaven which I strongly believe do exist. One should not ignore the little things he has influence over and can see to its development at the expense of aiming for the 'bigger picture'. If l am in position to train 100 youths in a community in Igboland on innovative farming practices which would see them earning an average of N200,000 monthly, am l less igbo for not screaming BIAFRA? |
Would love to travel around riverine communities. |
When men are forced to multi-task this is what you get! ![]() |
“He is a civilian, a businessman involved in the deal; he is insisting that Nigeria must pay him a particular amount of money before he would give Ukraine the directive to release the arms. He actually facilitated the deal''.........An individual holding a Country to ransom, things really went bad! ![]() |
Didn't know he is being detained by EFCC. |
Jesusbaby6:Okay, l will be on the look out. |
The ingenuity of the mind is valued through making the maximum out of the minimum. These governors are empty minds and the dwindling revenue from oil has really exposed them! Take Ogun State for example, it is Lagos State's neighbour and five times the size of Lagos and only serving as the gateway to Lagos for trailers loaded with farm produce from the North. On a daily basis, Lagos with its over 20 million residents spends billions of Naira on food that are brought in from outside of the state, how much is Ogun state making from the billions Lagosians are spending daily on food? Why should trailers from the North loaded with cabbages, lettuce, cucumber etc pass through Ogun State for onward delivery in Lagos when Ogun state is in a position to grow them and so enjoy the advantage of proximity? One only need to imagine the thousands of youths such vegetable farming would engage, more money circulating within the state while the government is collecting their tax from such enterprise. Truly our governors are close minded! ![]() |
They should do whatever will make them feel safer. |
chigo931:Agriculture is my specialization and l repeat we need no temporary measure in the form of Benin Republic. It is just the will do it, is what is required. Cabbage, lettuce, eggplants, cucumber, carrots etc are all grown and harvested within 90 days. I repeat again, it is the will. |
June 12. |
chigo931:The size of Oyo State alone is 25% of the size of Benin Republic, so why should we be sourcing food from Benin Republic or Cameroun? We the South have stereotyped our minds into the belief that we do not have the capacity to grow to feed ourselves to an extent and the North latched on to this. Oyo State is in a very prime position to reap off from the huge market which Lagos alone offers as over 20 million inhabitants have to eat day in, day out. Imagine the billions Lagosians spend daily on food, Oyo state which l have been using as an example has no business relying on Federal allocation! |
I love this 'witch hunting'! Whoever is not a witch has nothing to fear, since no one can trace any funds to me l feel comfortable whenever a witch hunter passes me by! ![]() |
The concept of vertical sack farming is making farming a possibility irrespective of one's location and space as one who is a tenant in a place like Lagos and as long as he/she has space of 3 square feet within the compound that is enough to set up a big sized vertical sack which one can grow a mix of local curry, coriander, green, spinach, lettuce, spring onions all at the same time and serving the kitchen's need. The picture is what a vertical sack looks like when it is already filled with a mixture of soil and manure, ready for the planting.

mikolo80:Cutix Plc, Nnewi, is a multi-award winning manufacturer of electric and telecom cables; quoted in the Nigerian Stock Exchange founded by Dr. Gilbert Obiajulu Uzodike started out as a cottage industry. mikolo80:Is it Liberians that manufacture shoes in Aba or the industries in Nnewi owned by South Africans? |
Enjoying a conducive environment. |
We still have a long way to go. |
Grim reality. The southerners should also liberate themselves from fully depending on the North for foodstuff. Though over 75% of Nigeria's landmass is in the North but not withstanding, the South can do without some of things grown in the North as they can equally do well in the South. Take for instance the veggies such as cabbage, lettuce, carrot, capsicum etc that has to be transported to Lagos from the North is a sad example of how other neighbouring states to Lagos are losing revenue to the North despite that they have a comparative advantage when it comes to distance! ![]() |

zendy:There are times it is wiser not to think aloud. In response to 'It is not possible to jail anyone in any democratic country for what they say, no matter if the person called for nuclear bomb.' Let me cite you an example, there was this radical Kenyan cleric called Makaburi who openly applauded the Westgate attack of September 2013 on live TV. Kenyan government kept quiet as they were still in the court against Makaburi for inciting and recruiting youths in the Northern and Coastal parts of the Country. Early April 2014, he was gunned down by a man in a fast moving motorcycle. Though the government did give the impression they were investigating his death but deep down everyone knew the government was responsible for the death. His people made noise that he was murdered because he spoke his mind and their were riots which had many of his acolytes roped into custody. Some never returned back home. |

Ladi Kwali (c.1925-1984) was a Nigerian potter. She was born in the village of Kwali in the Gwari region of Northern Nigeria, where pottery was a common occupation among women. She learned to make pottery as a child using the traditional method of coiling. She made large pots for use as water jars and cooking pots from coils of clay, beaten from the inside with a flat wooden paddle. They were decorated with incised geometric and stylised figurative patterns. Following the traditional African method, they were fired in a bonfire of dry vegetation Her pots were noted for their beauty of form and decoration. Several were acquired by the Emir of Abuja, in whose home they were seen by Michael Cardew in 1950. In 1954, she joined Cardew's pottery training centre in Abuja, its only woman potter, where she learned to throw pots on the wheel. She made dishes, bowls and beakers with sgraffito decoration but also continued to produce pots using her traditional hand building and decorating techniques. Most of these were glazed and fired in a high-temperature kiln and therefore represent an interesting hybrid of traditional African with western studio pottery Through Kwali's contact with Cardew, she and her work became known in Europe, Britain and America. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, her work was shown to great acclaim in London at the Berkeley Galleries. She became Nigeria's best-known potter, was awarded a doctorate and was made MBE in 1963. The Abuja Pottery was renamed the Ladi Kwali Pottery and a major street in Abuja is called Ladi Kwali Road. Her picture appears at the back of the Nigerian 20 Naira bill. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladi_Kwali |

alberson:Like l said earlier, Politicians are like weather! ![]() |
This season film is bringing up new characters on a daily basis! ![]() |
alberson:It is rather painful but that is the sad reality. Our politicians are like weather, you have no hold on them. A governor who is screaming dwindling revenue as an excuse will see nothing wrong in misappropriating state funds to maintain his political machinery. Should I have a family member amongst those on scholarship l will rally other family members to see that he or she graduates there before returning as against transferring them to the schools in the state. I know it is not easy but they say where there is will, there is way. |
Some families should start thinking of funding the remaining years some still have over there because once the government stops financing their children there is nothing anyone can do! ![]() |
Sighs... |
cupid0:Sorry for the late response. I don't sell it but know someone in Lagos who will be stocking it within the next 2 weeks. |
With such negative publicity he may likely end up being fired by Cool FM. |
