Christianity Etc › Re: The Sin In Garden Of Eden Was SEX And Not Fruit, Satan Had Sex With Eve PROOF by peggywebbs(f): 1:56pm On Jan 07, 2020 |
Please stop misleading people. If you don't understand the scriptures ask God for interpretation. The sin of Adam and Eve was disobedience. The tree of life is very real and is a literal tree. Stop trying to create an imaginative theory. The serpent was real and the fruit was real. It was not even called apple in the bible, I wonder what is wrong with Christians these days, reading the bible upside down. Ask God for mercy. ALAGOGO007: Mainstream Christianity has taught us since we were a child Eve’s sin in the Garden was her eating an apple. Yet, the word apple is not found in the entire book of Genesis. This apple teaching is another tradition of man which makes void the Word of God. Deception in the church should come as no surprise to us. Satan has had a firm grip on the church since times of old and it has only gotten worse.
The truth we are about to discover has been locked away from us, however we can unlock this mystery with the Key of David through the help of Christ.
The book of Genesis documents two specific trees in the Garden of Eden, these are not literal trees (Genesis 2:9). We have the “Tree of Life” which almost every Christian recognizes as Jesus Christ. Then we have the tree of knowledge of good and evil which very few Christians have any understanding of. Common sense tells us trees have no thought process, they cannot be good nor evil. This tree is symbolic of an entity, that entity is Satan himself, he knew good and evil as he was created good, but became evil by sinning in the first earth age (Ezekiel 28, Isaiah 14). This is the same tree Adam and Eve were commanded not to eat of (Genesis 2:17). The account of Adam and Eve is in fact a parable, it is also a euphemism substituting a mild, indirect, or vague term for one considered harsh, blunt, or offensive, (which is probably why people started using the word apple instead of telling their children what really happened).
Let this be no great mystery to you, the serpent is Satan himself. He plays many roles in God’s Word. Revelation 12:9 documents he is the serpent “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
Just as people do not literally put forth fruit, neither do serpents speak. This is symbolic for Satan, be not deceived!
THE HIDDEN TRUTH Genesis 3:2-3
2 “And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.”
This word “touch” is Strong’s 5060 and it means, “to lie with a woman.” When you “lie with a woman” it means you have sex. The serpent is Satan as we documented and he is going to sexually seduce Eve. Why? Because Eve is the bloodline which Christ the Savior of the world would come through. This would be Satan’s first attempt at polluting the bloodline so Christ could not be born into the world.
Trees cannot make one wise or dumb, they have no knowledge to give. This is merely a parable, a figure of speech. The word “pleasant” is Strong’s word 8378 and it also means “lusting.” Ezekiel 28:12-13 documents, Satan is “perfect in beauty,” very pleasant to the eye and he “hast been in Eden the garden of God.” Satan is the serpent, Satan is the tree of knowledge of good and evil and Satan literally seduced Eve into intercourse in the Garden of Eden.
CAIN AND ABEL WERE TWINS “Knew” is yet another euphemism. Adam and Eve had sexual intercourse, the subject is she conceived. Eve had stated she received a child from the Lord, those where her words, God did not say that.
Genesis 4:2
2 “And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.”
“Again” is Strong’s word 3254 and it means to “continue.” She continued in labor, and gave birth to Abel. Cain, Satan’s son and Abel, Adam’s son were fraternal twins, they were brought forth from the same labor. We will document that further from God’s Word. Check with your medical doctor, fraternal twins can come from two different fathers in one pregnancy, this is called “superfecundation“.
Notice, Cain and Abel reached the age of maturity at the same time by their sequential offerings, documenting they were in fact, fraternal twins. The word “serpent” is Strong’s word 3789 in Greek and it means “especially Satan.” The word “beguiled” is Strong’s word 1818 in Greek and it means “to seduce wholly” when you wholly seduce a woman it means you had sex with her. The serpent, Satan wholly seduced Eve thereby removing her virginity and impregnating her. |

It doesn't. When you ask, you get even measures beyond what you expect. It's the same way with our earthly parents. When you ask for things, if they are good for you, your parents will get it for you. If they think you don't need it now, they will hold on until the right time but eventually you will get what you asked for. If you go by the literal interpretation, I hope you know a lot of people would have died by now. Let's look at the prayers of some funny people, all my enemies die die die by fire. Now who is your enemy, the person who stopped your promotion because of their relationship with your boss, the person who envies you. Now when a Christian prays they should die, will God kill the enemies literally by fire? No. Now, that prayer wasn't answered, is that a good thing? Yes. Because someone wanted to use God to commit murder. Another example 500,000 people are in line for a job. 100,000 are Christians praying, 100,000 are Muslims praying, another sector probably aethiest scientifically prepared for the job. The slot to be filled 1 lucky person. Now what makes you think you deserve the job better than others, because you asked God for it? Breaking news, others asked God for it. It's only logical that one person gets that job. You will get a job which you have prayed to God for but it may not be what you are looking at but even something better. There are a lot of reasons people don't know their prayers are answered, it is because they are focused on a need so much that they don't realise that there are other ways that need will be met. God doesn't operate like men, he doesn't think like us, so you should not expect to know what to expect until it happens. You may not even know your prayers are answered because your mind is fixed on a certain thing. AntiChristian: But this actually goes against Matthew 7:7 Ask and you shall be given, seek and you shall find... |

No I don't have carry over prayers. You see unlike most Christians looking for a genie, I move on. One way doesn't work, I take it, it was not God's will and I try something else. You do realise that when people pray to get an opportunity, there are a hundred other people who are vying for the same thing. If it was meant to be, you would get it. I have had experience where I prayed for something and didn't get it. I blamed God, cried, cursed and typically stopped going to church. I was disappointed but after I had even forgotten about it, something better came along the way. I had to take everything back, the good thing had come at the time of my disappointment but I did not get the news at the time. I made a promise that day never to be angry with God for the things I did not get but instead be grateful for the things I had and the things I was yet to receive. When you experience God , you will forget all this thread you keep opening countering the bible. You even read the bible more than me and for that I admire you. I read the bible mostly only on Sundays but I experience God everyday. He is here in my heart and nothing else matters. AntiChristian: I'm very sure you have a carry over lists of unheard prayers from years back...
Even Jesus and Paul's prayers were not answered. So why do you think yours will? |

TESTIMONY OF A BROTHER WHO DIED AT A FELLOWSHIP CAMP GROUND BUT LATER SENT BACK BY JESUS WITH A MESSAGE.
I got a message today that not only greatly shook me to my vert foundation, but also COMPELLED me,to re-examine my life HERE,in the light of ETERNITY!I plead with you to kindly go through. It might turn out to be the greatest favour you'll ever do yourself here! ⌛⌛⌛⌛
AN ACCOUNT OF MY TRIP TO HEAVEN WITH JESUS: THE URGENT MESSAGE FROM THE MASTERBy the special grace of God, I came across the gospel of Jesus Christ some years back. While confessing my sins on my knees in prayers, pleading for forgiveness with faith in the BLOOD of Jesus Christ, Jesus showed me mercy and saved my soul (I became born again). I pressed forward in prayers; He sanctified my soul and later baptized me with the Holy Ghost and fire.
On Thursday, July 30, 2015, I heard an audible voice that said to me, “You will embark on a journey from which you might either return or not.” This happened right in the Tabernacle while I was praying on my knees, just immediately after the Faith Clinic by my District Superintendent (DS) during the Worker’s Conference that preceded the recently concluded annual camp meeting of The Apostolic Faith Church at Faith City, Igbesa, Ogun State, Nigeria.
Thereafter, I began to have some strange feelings of sickness in my body that made people to ask what happened to me. In faith, I replied, “All is well.” At 12:02am on Sunday, August 2, 2015 as I was sleeping in the dormitory where I was lodged, an unseen hand woke me up and I heard the same audible voice again, this time telling me to go to the tabernacle to pray. At this time, I was so sick and feeling as though my head was spilt into two.
Owing to this, I started whispering some prayers as I lay down. After much reluctance on my part, I heard the same voice again saying, “Go to the Tabernacle and I will heal you.” In obedience, I managed to get up and went to the tabernacle. On getting there, I wrote a prayer request asking God for healing. I had no strength to kneel down again but could only manage to lie down at the altar to pray. I beckoned to a nearby usher to get me any minister of God around to pray for me. At that point, it seemed the end had come.
I remembered the usher came back alone, knelt down beside me and started praying for me. (It was after the whole incident, the usher later narrated to me he did that at the bidding of the minister he saw and that on his way back to me he heard the audible voice of Jesus that I sustained satanic arrows attack). As he was praying for me I realized my strength was reducing and my voice going down gradually as I was answering “Amen” till I could not utter anymore word. That was all I remembered while I was here.
Then I discovered I (my spirit) was moved out of my body; and as my spirit stood up, I saw my body lying down flat on the floor with shot arrows before my body. As I turned away from my body, I saw the Lord Jesus standing beside me, full of glory and was wearing a glowing face, so glowing that I could not look at His face. He told me to look into the darkness at western part of the tabernacle (West Pavilion side). I saw some people inside the darkness shooting arrows to my body that was lying on the floor (then I realized the sickness was as a result of the attack).
I then anxiously asked Him who those firing these arrows were, but He told me I did not have to know them. In a twinkling of an eye, we were out of the tabernacle and in a very different atmosphere; the place was filled with glory: beautiful houses, awesome scenery, more than words could express. I immediately knew we were in Heaven.
Jesus then took me to a very beautiful house that I can not describe with words. That was the second time He would take me to that particular house. (The first incident was on an earlier account when He took me to Heaven). There I saw people that wore white garment like myself moving toward the other side of Heaven together with me.
Then I came to a river in front of me, and as I tried to cross over, I could not while others that were wearing same white garment did freely. The more I tried to, the more difficult it became and Jesus was looking at me. That prompted me to request Jesus to let me cross over. But He said in His response that “those that crossed over can not come back to the earth”. I then started pleading with Him to let me cross the river so that I would not come back to earth in order to escape the pains and struggles I was going through on earth.
Then, the Lord Jesus told me He would not allow my corpse to be taken back home from camp meeting so that my demise may not drive people away from Him. At this time, I did not remember I have a wife, children or any earthly possessions. When Jesus would not permit me in spite of my persistent pleading to let me cross over, I reminded Him of my sufferings on earth. That was when Jesus then told me He permitted everything to happen to me. (Things have been so rough for me generally from my childhood and that continued even after I met Christ; from one battle to the other).
The Lord Jesus went further to quote Revelation 13:7, “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindred, and tongues, and nations.” To my joy, He also added Revelation 12:11, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” After realizing the seriousness of His stand not to let me over, I asked for the Late Rev. Soyinka, the second Africa Overseer of The Apostolic Faith Church. He replied, “That is my true servant and in here (Heaven) with me”. I further asked of our third Africa Overseer, the Late Rev. Paul Akazue.
He told me he is equally with Him in Heaven, but having sustained injury, He had to take him early in order for His work not to suffer. In another twinkling of an eye, we were back in the Tabernacle on the campground and the Lord took me to different lodging centers for campers. Our first place of visit was the lodging place of my DS where we met him praying on his knees in the night (this gladdened my heart). We left there for the lodging dormitory upstairs, above the “Information Centre” where I was lodged with other ministers.
We met people sleeping physically, but many, according to Jesus, were more deeply asleep spiritually. Jesus pointed to my pastor who was physically sleeping but not asleep spiritually and said; “he is mine”. We thereafter found ourselves (Jesus and I) back in the Tabernacle. Meanwhile, we never walked to any of those places we went to, the movement was at the speed of thought. There were people praying very fervently in the Tabernacle but the Lord Jesus said something very sad. He said people were not ready for His coming.
I was surprised at that and now asked about those people that were praying. In His response, He said MANY OF THEM ARE INSIDE THE HOUSE AND CRYING TO HIM FOR RESCUE WHILE THEY ARE DENYING HIM ACCESS TO DO THE RESCUE BY LOCKING THE DOOR OF THE ROOM WHILE HE (JESUS) IS WAITING OUTSIDE TO DELIVER THEM BUT COULD NOT ENTER SINCE THE DOOR IS LOCKED.
Jesus also added that people today are particular about "all these things" that He promised would be added effortlessly if they would seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness. (Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”).He went further to say many had their names initially written in the Book of Life but because of the cares and pursuits of the things of this world, they forget to prepare for His coming, and their names are removed from the Book of Life.
They do not remember HOME again but are rather praying for earthly things, "all these things", while forgetting to continually “seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness”. Interestingly, He said He still have few who are renewing and retaining their names in the Book of Life daily by washing in His blood. He now added that all things are set in Heaven for His coming but only few are ready; just like a drop of water in a bowl.
Jesus then specifically said He is sending me back to the world for a particular purpose: to tell people that HIS COMING IS VERY, VERY IMMINENT AND AS A MATTER OF FACT LESS THAN ‘1 HOUR’. He also gave me a particular message for my wife (that was the moment I remembered I was married and had children). I then replied Jesus that how would that be, since I am not a pastor, neither an overseer nor a man of many words? The Lord Jesus replied and said He would back me up whenever and wherever I am to give the testimony. Jesus added that there would be three categories of people that would listen to my testimony.
The first would hear the word and spread it, the second group will hear and amend their ways and He will save them, the third group will disregard the warning and perish. Jesus Christ was greeting and congratulating me but I did not answer since I was not happy just because He wanted me to come back. Having noticed that in me, HE said, “I will be with you.”At last Jesus asked me to return to my body that was lying on the floor on the altar in the Tabernacle. As I was reluctant, He instructed me the second time and I entered. That was when I woke up and started crying.
I was still seeing Jesus Christ standing as I stood up physically and I noticed the headache and the whole sickness had disappeared. Jesus Christ later vanished from my sight while I was sharing the testimony with the same usher that prayed with me. I traveled back home to Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria that very Sunday.
I was surprised to later hear that my DS said in his sermon that very day that Jesus told him the name of many have been removed from the Book of Life but promised to deliver them if they would repent and pray. It was also mentioned in his subsequent words of admonition during the campmeeting that many are half-dead spiritually and pursuing material things in their prayers. This confirms the spirit of God to be one.
IT COULD HAPPEN IN A MOMENT FROM NOW. If you haven’t given your life to Christ, or already derailed in your focus, there is no better time than NOW to make amend and right the wrongs! Please pray and make a decision today. Which of the three groups you want to belong? I plead with you to please be part of those that will amend their ways and also partake in sharing the message. |

Yeah Jesus ain't a genie. I'm still surprised why you still carried Jesus matter into 2020. I see you want to know him. You can simply ask and he will reveal himself to you. After all he says ask and you shall receive. AntiChristian: Jesus says a lot about prayer, and he makes big claims for it.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you (Matthew 7:7).
Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours (Mark 11:24).
He who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do (John 14:12).
Apologists say that Jesus isn’t like a genie, but they need to reread their Bibles. Jesus really does say, “Ask, and ye shall receive”—it’s in John 16:24.
He says it without caveats. That promise has been tested uncountably many times, often by desperate people, but if Jesus answers, it’s indistinguishable from chance.

I agree with you 100% but it is unfortunate that the majority of Christians are blind followers. They are willing to believe whatever their pastor feeds them with. When I read these so called prophecies, I just laugh because it is all clear that they follow the news and are up to date on political issues. God will continue to help us expose these fraudulent con men. ALAGOGO007: One of the recent trends among Nigerian pastor once its the new year is releasing prophecy list for the year, although most of the prophecies don't eventually come to pass.We have seen instances where some renowned so called men of GOD made some warnings about impending dangers and some new breakouts of deadly diseases which never saw the light of the day.
As if that is not enough, right now we have a crowd of them, just as you would think its a competition. Everyone now claims to have a message from the same God. If most of the messages or prophecies are the same , we might be compelled to believing they are true. But different messages from GOD to the same nation and individuals who could possibly be lying, GOD? No! The Bible said in Hebrew 6:18 “That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie…” In 2 Corinthians 13:1 the bible says... This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. Now, what happened when we don't have the same prophecies from two to three witness, who then is the liar?
If God cannot lie, who lied? It means the prophets lied for their prophecies not coming to pass or probably it was never a prophecy, just a prediction. Deuteronomy 18:22 said: “When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”
This is my conclusion beware of these so called business men calling themselves servants of God, if you are confused about any issue of life pick your bible and meditate or rather just talk to him directly and stop been a slave of the cross. |

There is nothing like yearly prophecies. God does not work with our calendar. He gives prophets supernatural knowledge when he desires. It is the same reason why most of all these pastors prophecies never come to pass. They are not speaking from God but to capture the minds of their followers.
Even ordinary Christians and non religious people receive revelations on future events but all that does not happen at the end of the year but instead on the will of God.
The fact that all these people write 30 or more ridiculous prophecies shows how much they follow the news and happenings around the world. |

Some people may want to conspire against you and likely some people are planning to commit fraud or do something illegal. Pray to God to guide you on the decisions you make at work. Here is what I will tell you. Keep going to your church. It is not that God doesn't grant your prayers. It is you gaining patience. In Nigeria, we believe in sharp sharp. Here's what I learnt about life. We want things that we really don't need and sometimes we want them at the wrong times. God has a plan for everyone here on earth. Have you noticed that sometimes an idea comes to your mind when you want to do things? Well that's God's way of nudging you towards the right direction. Every successful person on earth has been in your position at one point in their life. Will things get better? Will all the prayers and dedication you have put in serving God pay? Yes and Yes. Don't let anyone lure you into occultic churches. Keep your faith and continue to serve God. Things change. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, they too are trying to figure things out for themselves. Just continue, try new opportunities and ask God for direction. There are things that God is doing in your life today, if you can appreciate every good thing in your life this moment. In fact I will advice you to write out all the good things so far and you will see his work in just the little things you experience everyday. Don't give up hope because that means you are losing hope also in yourself. Keep on working hard and you will get the reward. Please and please again God loves you always. Daniel058: Just don't understand if God answer prayer for real.. whenever I pray , I feel like am truly communicating with With God, and like he's listening to my prayers but at the end ,I see no results.....
I have read so many things about God like how he loves us , that he's a merciful God how he sends us guiding angels to protect and How Jesus died to set us Free. And that by the mentioned of Jesus name , every knee must bow. I have tried all my life to live a decent life style.
But at the moment , I can't tell if God answers prayers,am doubting if he exists at all or we are being deceived with folk tales.
Am just confused..

Heaven and earth shall pass away but the word of God will forever remain. The bible is not just a book, it is a giant collection of writings based on the things God said to the people of the past. All of it still applies today, we are living our own story. The government or any individual may change the words but the truth will not be hidden. Even non Christians hear the word of God in their sleep. I have learnt in life that humans are stubborn but everybody in this earth receives the gentle calling from our creator. Christmas is not a pagan holiday. The spirit of Christmas is a commemoration of the birth of Jesus birth. It has been celebrated so for centuries past and has become part of our history.
The fact that Christians turned a pagan holiday to worship God does not make it in anyway associated with pagan worship. it's simple, turn a bad situation to a good one.
Anyway, the spirit of Christmas imbibes love, joy, giving and celebration, we spend most of the year in stress and doing plenty work. What makes it wrong to pick one month in the 12 calendar month to celebrate our own holiday as Christians.
Fanatics will keep coming up with exaggerated reasons not to be happy. Well today is the day that I celebrate the good news of Christ coming to the earth and for giving us hope for salvation. I was born with the knowledge of a Christian Christmas, I never knew of any pagan worship. You went to the past and got answers from the past, it doesn't change the fact that the future is different.
Change is constant, so please accept the old new culture of the Christian Christmas holiday.

God hasn't turned his back on you. Don't let any evil deceive you that he has. The fact that you realise that you have backslided shows that God is talking to you to return to him. You know what to do. As our saviour Jesus said, " return and sin no more". The way to seek God's face is the same way we do with our earthly father. Do what is right, obey his commandments, love your neighbour and acknowledge him. God cares even for sinners and hopes that we all return to him. Vintax: Brethren i want to know what you think about this,God once told me what he want to use me to do in ministry on earth but reminded me that if i mess up he has a back up,i have now backsliden and no more in touch with him,i want to return to him but i fear he may has gone to use his back up,please what should i do now:continue in sin that separates me from him or return to JESUS? |

AntiChristian: And yet again another insinuation about God. Where did you see it in the bible that God was ok with the actions of the daughters of lot. That story only made it clear that even when Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because of sin, man still continued to sin.
Obviously you will blame God for the father that raped his daughter, or for the Thief that killed, or the kidnapping everyday.
God does not pull the trigger, man does. It was so in the days of old and is still the same. Did God whisper in the ears of Lot's daughters. You keep talking about the history of the Israelites. If you concentrate less on hating God and focus more on the history of this people, you might actually see how everyone on earth is connected right from the first man. All you read in the old testament was a generation tree that grew up to the kings of Israel.
From the OT, the Lord is shortsighted! He saved Lot and his daughters from homosexuals only for them to be blessed in incest! . Abeg! Throway that book! |

AntiChristian: The old testament can't be evil because it also contains prayers. If you call the old testament evil, then you refer to the history of Nigeria and all the countries around the world as evil.
There are the good, bad and ugly. Everyone's act will be recorded on earth. Nothing we do is hidden and that is what the old testament tells us.
The old testament is a compilation of books by different authors..what is your concept of evil? Do you expect the writer to lie about the occurrences that happened thousands of years ago
Go straight to the point. Just say the OT is evil and is not a scripture but a history book! |

AntiChristian: What lessons can you derived from this passage of Genesis 38 bearing in mind that 2Tim.3 Verses 16 says
Now you quote a new testament verse for an old testament book. Like I said, the book of Genesis and the other books in the old testament talks about the account of man's history, from the first man to the sons of Abraham. Genesis 38 talks about the history of Judah who was one of the 12 sons of Jacob.
History has no lesson, it is a story that comprises of the good, bad and ugly. You can either accept the truth or keep looking for reasons to avoid seeing the obvious. You can lift up uncomfortable parts of the bible, but you will only show how much you lack wisdom in understanding what history is about.
Is there anything you have learnt from Africa's history, just like we have the wars, independence, military takeovers in our time. The people of old also faced this issues. The writers of these books were like our vanguard today, telling account of incidents that they witnessed in their time.
I don't know what lesson you are looking for in a history of a tribe but God help you.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness |
Christianity Etc › Re: Untold Stories In The Bible (Tell Us Your Lessons In The Comments Section) by peggywebbs(f): 4:40pm On Dec 14, 2019 |
The bible is a collection of books and not just one giant book. There are many authors of ancient books in religion. The Catholic compiled the ones that was relevant while you will find another version that has some extra books.
Still there still so many other writings from people of those times just as we have writers today. People have written books about what is happening in our society today and the future generation will still make references to them.
When you hear some bad stories in the bible, it is enough conviction that Christianity has nothing to hide. The history of man is written undiluted and in its purest form. The bible was not compiled to make readers fall in love with the religion but to know the truth.
The old testament contains history, stories, parables, prayers, testimonies and prophecies. Not every story is meant to leave a lesson but rather they are meant for you to know the history of the people of that time.
We too are living our own story. There are a lot of stories that are very similar to what is happening today in our society and they make our history.
Believing in God means that we understand that we were created to enjoy the earth and for that we are grateful to God.
However, what we make of our lives is entirely up to us. The bible is a moral guide for us to know more about those before us and to know the things of God. Whether you are an aethiest, Christian, Muslim or pagan worshipper, it doesn't change the fact that our history can be traced from the first man. |

AntiChristian: OK, How did this happen?
Good, now you ask. How did God put him to death? There is no account of how he died in the bible, but that verse talks about what the writer knew of the incident or story. It was believed that his death was a punishment from God because he did without leaving an heir
So you mean this verse below is a lie?
No it was not a lie but it goes to show you that the story is about the history of the people of Judah. The culture then was that a man's legacy was his children. When Er died, his brother was asked to marry is wife as it was their custom. Now you see that the whole chapter you read was concerning the tradition and culture of those people.
1. But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death. Gen 38 vs 7
2. But Onan knew that the child would not be his; so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from providing offspring for his brother. What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death
Again, it means Onan died childless. In his bid not to give Tamar children for his brother, he ended up without children before his death. The writer believes he was punished and again based on their culture and believe
also. Gen 38 vs 10 |

@antichristian, please what is your Gospel? That God is bad or Jesus is bad? However, it means you have already admitted his existence which is a good thing.
When you read your bible ask God for wisdom and why do I say so?. Writers of old do not speak the way we understand literally. When you hear a story, always remember that these things happened in real life. When they say someone died because he was evil, you should very well know that evil people are not associated with one heinous act. They continue to do wicked and to those around them. The wages of sin is death.
You can't kill, steal, rape, or commit other wicked form of attrocities and expect to go free. There will be one single act that will finally judge a wicked person. That's where the idea of everyday for the thief one day for the owner.
When you read Shakespeare's sonnets or some ancient writings, it takes a lot of wisdom to decipher the meaning.
God does not kill neither does Jesus. However, there is a law of karma, when you do evil, it will come back to you. Now the question you should ask is who were the children of Judah, what was their character on earth, what made the children evil?
As a logical person, you would know that the second brother who brought out his semen not to get the woman pregnant, hated her. He could not bare to have children with her. He could have set the woman free for her to go her way but chose to suffer her to be childless. In real life, if a man hates the woman he's made marry, he would maltreat her, beat her and her treat her badly but because you chose the limit your mind to a few lines of the bible, you never asked for wisdom....."he knew the child would never be his" simply meaning that he despised her.
Before you keep going about preaching false doctrine on people's religion, please ask questions when you don't understand. |

gensteejay: How do you separate a house from its foundation?
Yes you can seperate a house from its foundation and I don't mean literally. It's like a child with a proper upbringing who grows up and neglects his training and becomes somebody else. Christian faith is about love. Now, how do you spread love in a world full of hate? You can't blame religion. Our Constitution is there but people still break laws.
A religion, like Islam, was built on violence and spread by the sword. How do you separate violence and terrorism from Islam, when its founder propagated the religion through wars and bloodshed?
I don't know much about islam except the little I've read in their holy book. So I can't speak about the violence and bloodshed.
How do you separate Christianity from the Bible, a book that encourages slavery and colonialism, anger and genocide (as exemplified by Yahweh)?
Like I said the bible is about history and prophecy. When you look at the time of the Israelites it is not different from our world today. Countries and nations fight for power and territory. God did not put the Israelites in slavery. He did not knock at their enemies door and them over. Their actions led them to their situation. They had neglected their God, and the power he would have given them was not given because they did not bother to ask for help. It's the same with our world today, the generation of Israel could have sounded like you questioning the existence of God especially when they heard it's some old generation Abraham telling bedtime stories.
War has been a part of man's survival in a brutal world. God does did not fire any bows and arrows. He did not massacre anybody. The crimes of men should be held according to the hands that commited it. When a person is sentenced to death for murder, does the court kill the devil? At least most people say, its the devil that made them do it. Religion never killed anybody.
The new testament, did the apostles carry a bow and arrow? They were killed by who? The people. The powerful government came after Jesus when he heard a king had been born. He thought someone was coming for his throne and killed every new born. Was that God or religion? So you need to separate the crime from the faith. It is man that holds the weapons.
Only an indoctrinated fellow doesn't recognize the fact the books humans read and the personality of the gods they worship influence their character and personality.
I wake up in the morning, I can decide to have my bath or not. Nobody is stopping me. I have free will. The bible talks about love, the human emotions carry jealousy, envy, greed, gluttony, everything the bible talks against. The words of the bible won't stop anyone from doing anything, you can choose to listen or you can go ahead and sin. The gospel is clear, repent and be saved. I don't see how that influences anyone negatively. The bible says, when someone slaps you turn the left cheek. Tell me when you throw the punch in response where did you get that from? Definitely not the bible. But the law of Israelites, not God? An eye for an eye.
If your god is vindictive like Yahweh, you would adopt the same behavior if you're a strong believer.
God is not vindictive, I see nairalanders cursing God everyday, none of them has been struck by lightning. If God is was really vindictive like you believe, you would not survive opening this thread. Humans are the ones with emotions, they think of revenge. Like I said violence is attributed to man, for power, position, wealth and women not religion unless it is profitable to them.
If your god loves killings and blood like Allah, you would also love violence like core Muslims in the North and Arab countries like Saudi, Qatar, who fund terrorist groups.
God has never killed anyone. He has never shed blood but he protects his people. I don't see God terrorising anybody. I only see human beings terrorising themselves.
Forget Yoruba Muslims; most are not core Muslims. People that really practise the religion as their Prophet did in his lifetime are the northerners and Saudis and co.
Everyone is prone to be an extremist..the only difference is we make different choices..some are killers others are not. It is not God or religion that carries the weapon but man. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Went Into Coma A Christian; Came Out An Atheist. by peggywebbs(f): 1:45pm On Nov 27, 2019 |
The bible is an account of historical events combined with prophecies. My response is based on your topic woke up an athiest. I will agree with you that religion is man-made. The churches and denominations started long after the apostles and the era of Christ. We have corrupted the whole idea of religion. The bible encourages fellowship but because of the wickedness of man ,we added politics, power, greed and other vices to religion. The Christian church is corrupt but the Christian faith remains. I remember reading somewhere in the bible that said, heaven and earth shall pass away but the word of God will be everlasting. Even the gospel bible tells of the time when religion will be corrupt, it talks about greedy pastors. The truth is not everybody that calls themselves a Christian is a Christian. It is a personal commitment. A person can be a rapist, kidnapper, armed robber in secret but be actively envangelising in the church. That is no reason for you to change your faith. Like I said I don't believe in churches I don't carry religion on my head. But I won't accept aitheism either. I believe in God and believe in the gospel of Christ. I don't believe in pastors, churches or members. They are all human and will corrupt religion. Even the boko harams that kill, the real islam followers do not embrace their ideology infact the extremists change the words of their qoran to suit their purpose. When you hear a man kills in the name of religion, it makes him no different from the regular murderer. A crime is a crime, if a murderer starts a mosque or a church, he will kill. If a thief starts a church he will steal, if a rapists starts a church, he will rape his members. All that are crimes accountable to men not religion. gensteejay: Ok. Where in my write-up did I say God doesn't exist?
God has nothing with religions, and all religions are man-made. Anybody with a basic level of intelligence can arrive at this simple conclusion by studying holy books of religions and their histories and then applying logic and intuition to everything. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Went Into Coma A Christian; Came Out An Atheist. by peggywebbs(f): 1:09pm On Nov 27, 2019 |
The idea of Christianity, Religion and God came ions of years ago before our existence. Contrary to what you think, I am not the typical Christian you will find. I was born in a Christian home yes ,but I really did not have time for religion. I believe in logic, I believe in the things I see but something changed. Like I said I'm not a typical Christian, I won't quote bible verses for you and I won't ask any pastor questions. I don't even have a denomination so don't even expect me to invite you to church. I have a personal experience with God and thay alone is enough for me to know he exists. I had questions, I wrote them down, even as a child. I stood at times during meditation asking whether he existed.. sometimes I even blamed him when I had some disappointments. There was even a time I would tease my parents thay I'll change religion. It didn't matter to them thay I refused to go to church or pray or read my Bible. I don't like fasting, I would rather stay all night dancing to a song Beyonce sang than do vigil and that is what I spent majority of my childhood doing. I didn't join any Christian group whether choir or anything.. after Sunday school I graduated home not because I didn't believe in God but more because I was just too lazy to go to church and found other things interesting. I didn't believe in speaking in tongues or miracles, healing or whatever was being preached in church. In fact I would sleep throughout a church service. I remember sermon time was nap time for me. I can tell you that for 18 years I never stepped into a church except for a friend's marriage. I was still a Christian don't get me wrong but I just didn't try. I wasn't interested, life goes on. That's it. But I started having little experiences that made me realize that ok something is here. There was a day in secondary school, I just told myself I'm not going to school, I wasn't sick ,in fact there was a test that day but it was like someone was telling me not to go. So I pulled off my uniform, and went to look for food. Barely three hours later we heard a fire, a tanker had exploded and burnt over 30 vehicles on the way to my school. The bus I usually hurried to meet up to take us to school was completely burnt, students, workers and many people died, I could have been one of them. That was not enough, I still didn't go to church. Another one happened again, I was on my way to go out and I was singing in bathroom. Im sure trying to sound like Beyonce but it doesn't work. I leaned my head on the wall tile and had a movie flash. I saw myself in my street, some men had guns pointed at me so I turned to the opposite direction to run and saw another set of men pointing guns at me, no where to run, I shouted for my mum. I got back and said o need to stop watching action movies. Got dressed and just as I was about to link to the main road from the street. I heard two gun shots, I ran with so much speed I didn't even bother to look back until I was under my bed. That day, a young girl hawking was walking along the road when armed robbers trying to escape were shooting to scare people, they shot the girls head to pieces. That's not all but I could go on and on about how, hearing God saved my life. You could call it intuition but I tell you, it took me 15 years to realise what it was. As I still type, I would rather go for a live show to see cardi b than stay for vigil but I'm a Christian. I don't doubt the existence of God and I don't believe in aliens. I am not brainwashed and I haven't picked my bible up in over a week and probably it was to confirm something I saw on nairaland. You should not base your believe on people's experiences. If you want to know, you have to keep an open mind. You can argue that Christianity is non existent with a phd thesis but that will not change the existence of God. God has been a widely talked subject from ages past...even in every lie there is an element of truth even though partial. gensteejay: It is you who need to do more research about NDE and your religion.
This is a website that contains thousands of NDE stories, detailing the experiences of people that have gone through the phenomenon: https://www.nderf.org/Archives/NDERF_NDEs.html
Now, do your research using this resource (the website) and come back here to tell us how many of those people had a near-death experience and converted to your religion.
I know most of you, Yahweh's slaves, don't have the mental capability to do rigorous research about your religion like OP has done and ask questions about the trash in the Bible, you have been fed with since childhood.
It takes a certain level of intelligence to do real self-evaluation and self-criticism (which I encourage you to do), one which religions forbid.
I wonder why Christians and Muslims can't see that reading the fake and doctored stories in Qur'an and the Bible seriously reduce one's intelligence, since you are not allowed to use the head and reason about what you read critically. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Went Into Coma A Christian; Came Out An Atheist. by peggywebbs(f): 11:52am On Nov 27, 2019 |
It baffles me when I hear people say they were Christians and all I hear is I did this for God, I worked in the church, I asked my pastor ,I did everything I was supposed to do. That sounds like some kind of entitlement. You can't be a Christian because of all this. I'm not a bible quoter but I will take you to the story of the Pharisee who was praying to God and telling him how he was a better man because of his works and then a commoner who was beside him was asking God for his own favour. The truth is Christianity is not really about what you have done, it is about who you are. You felt entitled when you went into coma, you heard people who had these experiences and you felt now that you have been there let me see for myself. God doesn't work that way. I tell people if you're looking for a puppy to dot on you get one but don't expect God to always do what you want. He sees more than you see and most importantly he sees your heart. If you do your research well enough, you will find out that most of the people who had near death experiences and talked about the reality of God were never Christians to begin with. Their experience converted them. That is the point of any miracle or supernatural phenomenon. It is not to make you feel entitled but to bring glory to God. You said you had questions about Christianity and you went to meet your pastor, really? I have questions about my childhood and birth, I don't go to meet my parents because they will definitely give me a biased opinion. If you want to be a lawyer, you don't go to a law firm to ask lawyers questions and automatically become a lawyer, you study, you do your research, you get a degree and that is what knowledge is about. You do the work. You were not committed to knowing what you believed in and readily accepted that all that you have been told was a lie because you did not even have a solid ground in your faith. Even the atheism you are embracing, have you really done the work to know its origin, or what its really about, who started it, what was on the person's mind when he led the new idea of atheism. Any way religion is not by force, you are free to believe in what you want and also not to believe in anything. But ask yourself, if Christians are really not crazy at the end of the day and the whole idea of God and heaven is real, do you want to find yourself discovering that fact on the Christian last day? If Christians are actually crazy and the end of the world is not real, do you really have anything to lose by believing in the existence of a God. It's a win win for me. I embrace Christianity not because of church, title, favour from God or any thing whatsoever. I embrace the religion because it tells me to be good, it's tells me to have hope, faith, to love and to become a better version of myself. I'm not interested in having a near death experience to decide whether I want to believe in God or not. I want God to see me as a wonderful person just the way my neighbours and even strangers perceive me to be. Challenges will come and go. It won't change how I feel because before I even believe in God, I also believe in myself. Anon9876: BEFORE COMA I have a medical condition, and of recent I went into coma. Before this happened, I was a Christian but I was already questioning a lot of things in my head. I was born in a Christian home, joined all the groups I was supposed to join in church when I was a kid back at home and I really studied the Bible. I started questioning a lot of things when I was 13 but the children pastor would always tell me to just believe and not question god. If I’m going to live my life committed to a god, dedicated to a faith, why then would I ‘just believe’ and not ask questions. So I kept going, stopped asking questions and just believed. Continued going to church with my parents, still believed in prayer and all that. Now I am a grown woman and still, a lot of things don’t make sense. Before I went into coma, I was really researching papers written by atheists and watching a lot of videos on atheism and deism. In my mind, I already knew there was no god and even if he existed, he doesn’t care.
My COMA EXPERIENCE. I heard people rushing towards me as I slumped, then there was darkness but I was still hearing faintly- and then, silence. I couldn’t see anything, I didn’t remember shutting my eyes, I didn’t hear anything. I was just there, stuck in a dark place, my brain wasn’t functioning because I was thinking about anything, I was just there. Life stopped. And life only continued when I woke up and saw light. It felt peaceful, felt like I went on a break but I wasn’t even there. It felt like my life was paused and it only continued when I opened my eyes. If it was death, I would have just remained like that. In eternal darkness and silence and ever since I came out of coma, death wasn’t as scary. I think it’s safe to say there’s no afterlife, everything we’ve been told is nothing but pieces of man made stories joined together. Once you are dead, you are dead. Nothing like heaven or hell. You go back to the darkness and silence you were before you were born. There is no god taking you to heaven anywhere, and of course, no hell. I had a near death experience and these are my conclusions. |
