RomanceRe: Why Are Nigerians/Africans So Confused?! by pendo89(f): 11:13pm On Aug 13, 2011
the traditional wedding is for the two families, or communities, while the church wedding is for the couple themselves and members of their denomination.

traditional wedding is also called engagement party. It's where the brideprice, traditional requirements etc, are presented.

and it fulfils the cultural requirements of african, or maybe nigerian, weddings.
Thank you Tpia

I am learning a lot here. You mean to say that in nigeria people conduct 2 weddings before they are considered man and wife?
What about dowry negotiations? are they done before the traditional wedding or are they part of the traditional wedding?
What happens if you skip the traditional wedding then pay dowry and proceed with the white/church wedding or better still settle for the traditional one once and for all?
RomanceRe: A Question For The Nigerian Women by pendo89(f): 10:36pm On Aug 13, 2011
^^ LOL if only I knew what Eba is. I thought it was a local nigerian brew or is it?? You are very funny. grin

Sexkillz.you guys are narrowing it down to Eba.So its elimination we are doing here.
If you consume Vitamin A in excess your skin and eyes are likely to change colour.Confirm with any Doc.
Whatever the yellow in Eba is,supplement or nutrient 'I thought it could have the same effect'.
But am laughing cz 190 is exagerrating.I am yet to see a yellow gal.

RomanceRe: A Question For The Nigerian Women by pendo89(f): 10:21pm On Aug 13, 2011
OK since you are determined to know
sexkillz:
There are Two types of Eba! White and Yellow!
If the yellow in Eba is nutrients or supplements then my guess is, if taken in excess it could result in yellowing of the eyes just the same way vitamin A does.
Smoking is another cause but ur analysis of 'ALL' women makes me assume that the yellow nutrient could be the cause.

still funny though
RomanceRe: A Question For The Nigerian Women by pendo89(f): 10:01pm On Aug 13, 2011

I think its in your mind now. Those r just rare cases I mentioned but it seems like ALL have yellow grin grin

RomanceRe: A Question For The Nigerian Women by pendo89(f): 9:13pm On Aug 13, 2011
190 you are funny. grin I dnt c yellow.
Food colour has no direct effect on eye or skin colour.
Yellowing of the skin or eyes is mostly as a result of jaundice and there are several underlying factors.
In that age group you mentioned I can only think of Anaemia or Cirrhosis which I highly doubt cz it takes many years of excessive alcohol abuse to cause liver damage.
Just assume its Anaemia due to menstruation/poor eating habits cz tht age is key or you are seeing things.

claremont:
Absolutely agree with this point, rather than the drivel been written by others. If we say a relationship means equal rights and responsibilities, that also translates to an equal amount of foolishness and wisdom to be expressed by both parties.
cool

RomanceRe: Paying Dowries For Black Women In 2011 by pendo89(f): 1:34pm On Aug 13, 2011
Dowry is godly and a sign of appreciation. It should not be equated or reduced to barter trade.
Some greedy parents can use their daughters as a get rich quick scheme and lose out on the true meaning of dowry.
I don't think its wise to do away with dowry but the parents ought to be careful enough not to exert too much pressure through excessive and unnecessary demands.
If the parents consider the groom as part of the family then allow him to spend more on building a good foundation for his own family rather than enriching the girl's family.
The parents have settled while the new couple is just starting.Give them all the support to start off well at least.
RomanceRe: Romance Section Love Zone by pendo89(f): 11:54am On Aug 13, 2011
My love is broad and not limited to anybody in particular.
I feel at home in foreign territory.Enough reason for me to love everybody.

Each of you posesses something unique/hilarious/intelligent/irritating/crazy/annoying that makes this section interesting, lively and full of variety.
There are some characters who show face once in a bluemoon but when they do, they leave a lasting impression.

So my love to all ye nigerians/non-nigerians on nl.You all rock . kiss kiss
