Knowing what is expected of a real man is not the same thing as knowing their minds.
It means there's a way a man is designed to behave and a way the society expects him to behave as well.
So we ladies build our imaginations and expectations around that.

By jungle I don't mean he needs to behave like a columbus monkey or a lone buffalo in the mara.
It means a man that smells battle,knows when to fight,whom to fight and how to fight.
(Ok again am not talking physical here. Intellectual fight is a fight as well)
A man that is both soft and rough.He knows how to balance the 2 very well.Not a coward or men pleaser.

Now read what the op above you wrote. I do not have to be a man to know how a real man should be.
I dont mean I understand their minds no.If anything men are the most confusing creatures ever made.
Its the same way a man would know how the ideal woman should be like. Ok it really depends because people have weird desires.

A man is supposed to have some 'jungle characteristics' ,natural,protective,smart,strong and real.
He should not be tooo perfect or Mr. Nice to everybody.No no.Some roughness make a real man.

Let me give you a practical example.
If as a girl I grow up in a very abusive family,eg seeing my dad beat the hell out of my mum everyday,
And then I see the same happening to the other members of my family ie men mistreating the ladies.
What happens is that my mind adjusts and I start seeing women as objects to be abused and humiliated.
Chances of me dating an abusive partner are very high cz I will try holding on to the abusive relationship since I grew up seeing other females in my family getting subjected to that. Now that may not be the case always but in most.
My question to you therefore is 'did the male in my family set up a good standard? Of course No.
So how does it affect me now? It affects me because I will never tolerate an abusive partner since I grew up exposed to the low one set by my family and I would not want a continuation.
So if I meet a guy that insults and abuses me I will tell him,'Be a real man cz real men don't beat women'! or real men dont treat women like trash. How do I know?

1.Its against Bible as a believer ie
2.Its against the law.The society condemns it.

To summarise it all

If I was exposed to such low standards then my idea of a 'real man' may be the 'abuser' or the 'perfect gentleman'
But if I was exposed to good normal standards then my idea of a real man would definatley not be the abuser but the gentleman.


Now that did not come from a movie or romantic novel.Its part of that experience and exposure ur talking about.

^^ How do you know the right standard? C, it depends on what you are exposed to.
And it can only be 3 things.Good, Bad or Both.
Standards vary but there's what we know as good ,right and normal and we know whats craze/extreme and evil.
In other words,what I regard as normal and right by standards may not appeal to somebody else.( _{he must be crazy then}) 
I think its better you set a high standard for me and then we strike a balance.Just don't go low in terms of character ie.

First killz I don't read romance novels.Well never have cz I don't leave in fantasy world.My interests are crazy.
Second when I say I have seen what real men do, c'mmon. What makes you think am referring to people that date us or movie stars?
We have brothers,Fathers,Uncles,Cousins,Friends who are all male and we learn a few things from them.
Before I meet the male out there,I have met other males in my family from whom av learnt a thing or two on what is expected of a 'real man'
Now that also depends on the kind of men around you.Cz If you are sorrounded by male who set up a good normal standard then you definately want to meet a man who does not fall below the already set standard you got exposed to.
Now listen,we are not talking 'material here' But CHARACTER!

But its cz we have seen what 'real men' do and so when we meet 'sissys' they make us sick and they irritate.

I dont want a man who talks,thinks and acts like I do, no way! I want to feel the woman and him the man.There's must be a difference.

Some may manipulate as somebody said up there but others just want the man to stop acting like a woman and be a man.

Look here.First their stories are weird.The plot itself makes me sick.
The stories revolve around family and pretty weird stuff. Like I don't know this father who separates with his wife and she later gives birth to a son in a far land.The Father remarries,gets a daughter and somewhere a long the daughter and son meet!! They date without knowing they are siblings and then comes time to introduce guy to parents and the shock.Its sickening! That not interesting at all.Or is it supposed to be a suprise?
And funny thing I think av watched almost 6 with the same plot.They are all the same!!
Now the most irritating is when they start acting emotional!
C'mmon.If its time to cry somebody WAILS! and wails for hours nonstop,rolling on the floor tearing clothes whats all that.
cry properly dont wail like a mad woman.Its just a movie!
Worst scene.Why and why for heavens sake must they show us vommit!! if smbody is vommiting they make us hear the sounds and the vommit and it takes forever to show the scene.I switch off.
If its blood they make it look, I dont know like what! u will think somebdoy was mauled by a hyena.
Come to prayers!! jeez.I pray but c'mmon its a movie so all these tongues speaking 4 hours non end and casting demons gets into my nerves! Its just annoying and they pray till dawn.Before you know they say 'And Afrocinema continous shortly' and what have you seen so far? vommit,blood,insane prayers,cursing,fighting,overeating. ok am sory but they need to polish those things. I dont watch but I get disappointed everytime I try watching.
Last but not least.The BACKGROUND MUSIC!! Damn.it gets too loud you can hardly hear the actors. and they choose bad bad music.
The songs don't even suit the movie.
Okay now I shut up.I wont watch so I dont see faults.
