SalamRushdie:
Just look at the kind of plan Wike and Tinubu are pursuing, without Obi Tinubu can't win and without Obi Atiku also can't win
I think Obi will only listen and give whatever they are saying a thought after their November Convention in Ibadan.

If another Wike lackey emerges as Chairman or Secretary or anything consequential in the party, trust me Obi will not be foolish into walk into an unhidden trap.

But one thing is simple, there’s nothing wrong with Obi going back to PDP especially with the party’s rooted nationwide structure.

All it will take for PDP to come back to life is for Obi to go back into the platform.

Lol!

I like as Obi is playing ping pong with the heads of Tinubu, APC and their supporters.

This minute Obi is at Ojota.

Next minute Obi is at VI.

Another minute he’s at Ajah.

Before they say Godwin Emefiele, he’s at Festac.

Now, they are confused on where to wait for him.

And that’s how they will be confused until 2027.

Una go learn strategy.
PoliticsGovernors Adeleke And Sanwolu Hosting Yoruba Falcon Players (Throwback Photos)) by Penguin2(op): 10:53am On Jul 30, 2025
News made front page here on Nairaland of how VDM called out Governor Hope Uzodimma for hosting only Igbo players out of the Falcons squad.

But here are pictures of Govs Adeleke and Sanwolu of Osun and Lagos respectively, hosting only Yoruba players of the Falcon squad.

VDM never made a video to call them out. But because Uzodimma did same thing, VDM turned on his ring light and started cursing Uzodimma. And the question is to what end? What was VDM’s aim doing that video? What did he hope to achieve?

Why are the rules always applied differently when Igbos are involved?

PoliticsRe: Ignore Apc's Mischievous Plot, We Didn't Suspend El-rufai - SDP by Penguin2: 9:16am On Jul 30, 2025
When I saw the suspension/expulsion, I actually laughed because I knew immediately that it was APC supporters trying to make themselves feel good.

Like the proverbial drowning man that can clinch even to straws to stay afloat, APC and their supporters have seen they have no path to victory in 2027 and they have resorted to stupid and shallow propaganda.

Because historically, every suspension from a party that we have witnessed in this country has happened from the Ward Level, not national.

Before Oshiomole was taken out as APC National Chairman, he was suspended from his ward.

Before Uche Secondus was taken out as PDP National Chairman, he was suspended from his ward.

Before Iyiorcha Ayu was taken out as PDP National Chairman, he was suspended from his ward.

But APC supporters believed Elrufai was suspended by an inexistent National Working Committee of SDP.

But no matter what APC does, Tinubu will be smoked out of Aso Rock in 2027.
Foreign AffairsRe: Melania Likes Putin - Trump Says (Photos, Video) by Penguin2: 9:06am On Jul 30, 2025
It’s not new.

A lot of women are known to like bullies, terrible and dangerous men. It intrigues them.

And even when those men beat them, or they are constantly running from danger due to their association with those men, they still stick around them even the more.

It’s same way most women will dump a man who takes it easy on them during sex and follow the one that destroys their vagina with hard pounding until they even have to go to hospital to recover.

The female psychology was designed differently by God, and instead of complaining about it, just understand it and work with it.

See what I dislike most about his character.
The people closest to him are not telling him how it is.
See how you have explained it, the people he listens to, don't tell him the political reality. I hope I am wrong at the end of the day.
Why leave Otti hanging?
Can't you see Otti has been quiet for a while because he can't understand. The day he defects now, he will be harassed but can you see the confusion. At least, carry your only Governor along, NO.
He could have carried Otti along, but the big question is can he trust Otti?

Imagine he tells Otti his moves, how are we sure those secrets will be safe with him?

I can even tell you authoritatively that even the closest persons to Obi don’t even know where Obi truly stands right now and the deal he already cut with Atiku and the coalition, and that’s because of moles. A lot of people loitering around Obi are moles planted around him to collect information and feed back to whoever sent them.

So, trust me, the more Obi keeps his lips sealed, the best for his strategy and game.

If anything, you will agree with me that Obi rarely miscalculates.

I know you may think he was wrong to run in 2023 but if he hadn’t done what he did in 2023, he wouldn’t be on a lot of the negotiating tables he’s on today.

So, Obi rarely miscalculates. Let’s calm down and follow things at his pace.

Listen for the records, the agreement amongst them was to contest a transparent Primary. if Obi feels he will be cheated out, the PDP is there or LP, he can leave afterall he has his fundamental rights and is well so qualified to contest.

Primaries are a democratic process. Obi superintended the Primaries that produced Obiano. Obi superintended the Primaries that produced the late Dora. Obi played a big role that gave Ozigbo the PDP ticket. So in his own turn, he doesn't want Primaries. Why didn't he say Obiano's supporters were the ordinary Nigerians? Why did he midwife the APGA Primaries that disqualified Soludo, just to produce Obiano? He would have allowed ordinary Anambarians decide between Obiano & Soludo nah.

Our electoral system does not respect independent candidature hence he must go through a Party. Buhari, Tinubu, Atiku all went through Primaries.
Nobody needs to be emotional about it, Tinubu isn't doing too bad afterall.
It’s not too late to admit that you are sympathetic to Tinubu’s presidency o.

Chai, Penguin 2.... No polling booth dey SM oooo.

It's sponsored to make sure Atiku does not see the ballot, but those who know politics understand it's an exercise in futility. Tinubu will return to Aso Rock easily because of Atiku & Obi running separately.

I don't dispute Obi and have never.
I just feel he doesn't seem to be open about his political position, he has always been like this since he was Governor. Many who support him today, do not know his politics when he was Governor, he was sneaky about his politics, neither here nor there, especially some of the things he today criticises and he still continues and you applaud him.

Today he is supporting Nenadi Usman and a day after tomorrow, he is sponsoring candidates for Abure to affirm. The Anambra Guber and Anambra South Candidates came from the imprimatur of Obi. He practically handed those names to Abure. They have been his friends and nominees even when he was Governor. Infact the Anambra South Candidate after winning the Primary publicly thanked Obi for supporting him, in front of Julius Abure.

Where does that leave Otti? Abure conducted Primaries and he pushed his friends to get the ticket and is campaigning for them. Do you know the character of the person he is fronting for Anambra South? Many who support him today do not know,
In APGA, as Governor that was how he threw Victor Umeh under the bus, conducted a National Convention & backed Okwu who won, then turned around, reconciled with Umeh, then ditched Okwu without the man knowing.

I hate this one leg here and another there. That is why Otti has technically distanced himself from him. The same thing he is doing today. He should take a stand!

Now, if Obi won the 2023 election, he won't need a coalition today. He ought to have PU agents, even Tinubu will claim his votes were suppressed in Anambra. He should remain in the ADC and fight it out, win or lose, that's my humble suggestion he must not compulsorily take, afterall who am I?
See, this is not blind support, but what you see as weakness in Obi, I actually see as strength.

Except for the instance of Okwu and Umeh which is not good if that’s how it really happened. But at the end of the day, Obi is still human.

Now, about not being decisive with his position, I would actually consider it a strength because it makes it difficult for his enemies to know what he’s truly up to next.

Take the present instance of the coalition for instance, if Obi comes openly and resigns from LP, joins the ADC and declares he’s only with the coalition whether head or tail. What do you think will happen?

You will agree with me that it will make it easy for Tinubu and his men to now fully deploy to ADC and plot how to stop him.

But with his current game, no matter how frustrating you find it, it makes it difficult for his enemies to really know where to wait for him and how to stop him.

So, trust me, what you complained of him is strategy, not weakness.

I’m like that too.

The SE has failed so far to get to the presidency because the north detest them and would not allow anyone from that region come close to power. Tinubu is bent on changing that come 2031 should the north field a northern candidate in 2027. All agreements would be broken, pbat would ensure David Imahi or Soludo or Kalu takes the presidency after his tenure. The presidency of Nigeria needs someone with a Federal experience or an astute big shot politician which Obi does not have. Obi should have accepted the ministerial slot given to him two years ago by pbat as such would have boosted his credentials and make 2031 a South East only affair. Politics is a highly strategic game and you need others to support you to win. Don’t create enemies for your candidate by insulting your opponent in every way possible.

That's because Peter Obi has showed that he will not contest in any Primary.
He will either step down or leave the coalition, the reason why he has refused to leave LP. If he is not given the ticket on a platter, he will leave.
See, you need to understand that Obi is not afraid of primaries. What he seems not to be ready for is the kind of primaries that go on in Nigeria political parties where aspirants buy delegates with as high as 30k dollars per delegate. Is that what you want Obi to get involved in? Because Obi can’t throw money around like that.

If the primaries were about talking to the delegates and marketing your manifesto to them, then by all means Obi would be willing to get involved.

What do you mean Southern Party?

Everywhere is a land mine. APC is seriously banking on Atiku to destroy the coalition and not allow Obi but my 6th sense sees ADC has already agreed behind closed doors before they made thing public. All they are doing currently are just to confuse APC and make appear that they have not agreed on anything but still in discussion.

If you notice, APC is making more move than ADC. It’s intentional. The goal is to watch APC make more than 80% moves before they declare their. And it’s working.

Since that coalition, I have seen APC make more frantic moves than they would have made if Obi and Atiku were in different parties.

This means they are shit scared.

Forget their noise on nairaland. This is the only place they appear to have voice. They can’t make those useless comments on Twitter anymore.

When was the last time you heard from Jerry Gana? Why now? Jerry Gana is telling you they want to bring Obi back but he never said anything about Wike. Do you understand what that means?

To give you an idea of their desperation, don’t be surprised to see them exhume Yaradua to come convince Obi to come back. The reason is they deeper need Obi in a separate place without Northern backing so that they can strike.

Pay attention to their actions than their words. It will reveal more than any news you will ever know.

Makinde was supposed to remain in PDP to work for Tinubu but coalition has forced him to abort that plan but previously, just some weeks before he coalition, Makinde boastfully declared he is more qualified to vier for the highest office (president) in the land. After coalition, Makinde switch to “because your house is on fire does not mean you should abandon it” but he was quiet 🤫 while Wike was moving made. And they are now calling Obi to come back.

I saw Remi Tinubu wishing super falcons success and laughed 😂. Husband said they should release allowances for the falcons. The desperation to look good is laughable. Even Seyi Tinubu governorship plan is on pause right now. All because of coalition. If only most of you will pay attention to actions than words, you see the picture clearer.

Bros, allow them do what they want to do. ADC has made only one move. APC have done 20.

Relax 😌
True to your moniker, you drew a lot of insights here.

Like you, I also believe the coalition already has an agreement on who will be candidate and running mate but that decision is probably known only to a very few people which is why even we the supporters of different candidates are bickering online while they would probably be laughing at us inside.

One thing I believe is that Tinubu is very much beatable.

Let me educate you . IREV is not electronic voting it's just a place where election results from the polling units are snapped ad uploaded by the inec officers in charge of each polling units . It's not electronic voting that you can tamper with. The same results on the field is what is uploaded manually on IREV then it's calculated . IREV is actually nothing it's the same results from the field . So IREV shutting down is never to reduce or increase a candidates votes . As at today all the results uploaded on IREV tallies with all the results uploaded from all the polling units . So stop taking about IREV it's just a way to also have a system to refer to asides the once in the field it's like a electronic Storage ..
You are talking about results being uploaded on IREV 9 months after the election?

How are you going to convince me that it’s the right figures that are being uploaded?

They are afraid of that combination.

Asides Kwankwaso, no Northerner carries the votes like Atiku. Many will even argue Kwankwaso is just a Kano man. In the South, everyone knows Obi's strength. So you see, they want them to divide their votes or one person should step down. So LP/PDP are on the same page, they have the same assignment.

Like I told my good friend Penguin2, Obi should continue to lobby because Amaechi is lobbying to become a potential VP or President, why not?
But with or without the coalition, no Southerner can defeat Tinubu.
Amaechi is lobbying?

Lemme ask you something, let’s presume that Atiku gets the ticket, will you take him seriously if he picks Amaechi instead of Obi?

What will be the data supporting the choice of Amaechi as running mate?

Ask yourself since the coalition, why they have suddenly turned to Obi.

You watched the video right?
When the presenter asked him, that Atiku said he will step down if it is zoned to the South East, what did he respond? He said it should be left to the South to slug it out and you thought Obi will still outwit Wike?

A Professor Gana who negotiated with APC in his home State so that his son will be in the House of Reps?

Peter Obi did not win 2023 election, leave this thing you are saying. He didn't win NE/NW (13 States), he didn't win 5 SW States, he didn't win 3 NC States, so how did he win? Stop now......

If indeed he wants Tinubu out, his best bet is a coalition, that's not even seal-proof, the odds is not even better than 60%, but let's just say it will rattle the incumbent. No singular person without a coalition can defeat a sitting Nigerian President. Prof is a Wike man.
Great to hear you are for the coalition. Because you seem to have dismissed every move of the opposition.

Now, about 2023, the reason we keep saying Obi won is because there was a 3 horse race with another candidate canceling out the votes of the states you highlighted.

If we are to go by your argument, how did Tinubu win the presidency then? Did he win those states?

Or are you saying the 6.1million INEC recorded for Obi are the votes he scored? When you and I heard tales of how his votes were changed in places like southern Borno because he had no one to protect his votes.

You need to start giving Obi his flowers please.

For those who don’t know, Prof Jerry Gana is one of the group of 38 who formed the PDP with Late Chief Alex Ekwueme.

In this interview he says PDP may adopt Peter Obi as its presidential candidate for 2027 election.

He went on to blame Atiku for not stepping down and supporting Obi in 2023; declaring that “Peter Obi is good.”

The options keep growing larger and larger for Peter Obi.

If not ADC, then Nenadi Usman’s LP.

If not Nenadi Usman’s LP, then Julius Abure’s LP.

If not Julius Abure’s LP, then PDP.

Game on!

PDP in talks with Obi, other southern politicians — Jerry Gana

A founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prof. Jerry Gana, has disclosed that the party is holding discussions with the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and other prominent southern political figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Gana, a former Minister of Information and one of the party’s most respected elders, disclosed this during an interview on African Independent Television on Friday, as he reflected on the internal decisions that shaped the PDP’s past presidential primaries.

Following the report that PDP may zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the South, there had been insinuations that the party was wooing the former Anambra State governor to its camp.

The insinuations intensified last Friday when the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said, “Peter Obi is our product. We want to get him back, indeed, because he is a very, very great capital for any political party.”

When asked to confirm the discussion with Obi on the AIT interview, Gana said, “Yes, why not? He was our member. In fact, if I were the former Vice President, I would have in 2023 said, ‘No, Peter, you were my vice-presidential candidate in 2019. Now, I’ll support you.’ It would have been a strong statement.”

Gana, who is leading one of the party’s consultative delegations, said although formal talks with Obi had not yet occurred, discussions were underway with people close to him.

“I have met people. I have met him (Obi), and I have met people he would refer to, and I have sat with them for hours. We are moving step by step,” he said.

Gana added that Obi was not the only figure being courted, as the PDP was exploring broader options across the southern region.

“We’re not just looking at one person. One, two, three, even more. You know, the South is full of talents,” he said.

The PDP chieftain also revisited the events leading up to the 2023 election, describing how the party rallied around Abubakar despite reservations from some quarters.

“If you ask many of our members, they’ll say we’re a quietly answered prayer, because really, there’s absolutely nothing else we’ve not done to show that we are brothers with Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

“He left in 2014 to go and form the APC with other people. He only came back to us towards the end. He requested for the party’s ticket in 2019. Do you remember who was our candidate? He was still a candidate. He didn’t get it.”

Gana said that in 2023, PDP leaders gave Atiku another opportunity based on his 2019 candidacy.

He also recalled convening a crucial meeting at his home in 2023, which both Atiku and then-Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, attended in an effort to unite the party before the general election.

“To be fair to both of them, they honored me. They came to my small house, and I said, ‘Look, Nigerians expect the PDP to win this election.’ So let’s resolve this matter, so that we win and form government,” Gana said.

According to him, there was an agreement to respect the outcome of the party’s convention. “Sincerely, this thing should have initially gone to the South. But now you’ve won the primaries, you’ve been elected. We’ll respect the will of the people,” he said.

He disclosed that Wike, feeling sidelined after not being chosen as running mate, requested that the chairmanship be ceded to the South.

Gana emphasised that the PDP was focused on rebuilding its internal structure to serve as a credible alternative to the ruling APC, especially amid rising economic hardship.
