richmond500: INEC actually transmitted the results to the IREV portal few hours after the glitch so that IREV sentiments should die a natural death abeg.
INEC never said there will be online collation and this is where the problem lies
And you trust their transmission after a “glitch”?
And why did IREV say Peter Obi won Rivers State but INEC announced Rivers for Tinubu?
Do you think Nigerians will standby and watch a repeat of that in 2027?
When Tinubu supporters talk sometimes I wonder if they have no sense of immediate history or they have lied to themselves until they started believing the lies.
The reason why Tinubu is president today is because INEC said they experienced a technical glitch that made them unable to transmit results to IREV from across Nigeria. In so doing Nigerians were blindsided and then through whatever means, INEC came up with 8 million votes for Tinubu.
Look at what happened in Rivers State. It has come to be infamously known as the “Rivers Template.”
So, in essence, things like “technical glitch” and “Rivers Template” are how Tinubu came to power; whether you you accept it or not doesn’t change this fact.
Now, my question is, will INEC tell us they had a technical glitch again in 2027 and resort to manual collation and conjuring up of numbers for whoever they want?
Will men Amaechi and co, state and watch Wike repeat the Rivers Template either in Rivers or anywhere in Nigeria in 2027?
Do Tinubu supporters think that Nigerians will stand and be told to “go to court” again should INEC choose to be funny again?
AMINDA: Nobody is giving anybody anything. Every region should do their political permutations and choose what pleases it. Southsouth are already positioning as a region to Vice a Northerner in 2031 and then presidency in 2039. They will mostly support Tinubu because of what's in it for them in the future, not even now. Power will still return North whether in 2027 or inevitably in 2031. The North as a region is strategically positioned to benefit from either scenarios because all their eggs are not in one basket. Do whatever pleases you or your region but nobody will surrender the ADC ticket to Obi without participating in the primaries. A section of the North (with potentially the largest voting bloc) has extended a handshake across the Niger to the Southeast like was done with the Southwest in 2015. Obi can either sink or swim with the future of his region. Soludo gave him a hint in 2023 but he didn't take it.
If una like, make power no come to Igbo man in 100, are we going to be the worst off in Nigeria? No!
So, go and tell your Atiku to rest and support Obi or let the heavens fall.
descarado: Yoruba have been there as president. Have you been there? We have more than 300 ethnic groups in nigeria. Igbo is among the 3 major group. Clamour for an igbo man to enter there goes beyond the presidency. Its about healing and integration, acceptance and trust. It will not come easily based on igbo history but a step is taken and an olive branch has been extended. That is what an average igbo man is looking at. That is what igbo elders are looking at including obi.
You coming online with that mentality that it's either our way or the highway is nonsense. You come with that emotional outbursts, it will never ever be your way and nothing will happen. Highest, more agitation for Biafra. Clamp down and the cycle continues. Obi is the best bet for igbo and you may never know why people like obasanjo is pushing him to enter aso rock. It is for national reconciliation. Let me tell you, if obi mistakenly become president 2027, igbo will do worst than what the yorubas are doing. The military will be forced to take over. Igbo people should be prepared for the presidency. Obi is good but what about his people.
They will justify why they are doing what they are doing. You know your people. You behave the same manner in this forum. You should also know what happened before the biafran war. The north problem is never obi but actions of igbo people if he takes the mantle of national leadership. They will chase obi out of office with their chest beating and grabbing by all means as they will say they have never eaten national cake since ekwueme time. So they should start from the vp slot.
Also, obidients are not only igbo. People that fought and supported obi are not only igbo. It will do you well to listen to their voices and don’t intimidate them.
I know a yoruba guy that have fought his people here cos of his support for obi several times. Lost some of his friends. Do not be insensitive and mock people like him. He and others are happy to let obi enter there even as vp as long as tinubu is out. Be guarded in your utterances.
Hey, I dont live in nigeria and I am telling you the mind of many obi supporters. We see beyond today. We are looking at nigeria of tomorrow where fairness is promoted according to our constitution or are you not tired of what nigeria has become because of division which favours few? Diaspora are the people who promoted marketed obi before you guys came in with our resources. This same Diaspora are telling you guys to allow nigeria heal through obi. What do igbo people actually want from the center that they don't have? A average igbo man want to integrate freely anywhere in nigeria and do his thing without looking at his back or disenfranchised cos he is an igbo. You know nothing at all. In all good indices, igbo is always first. So obi going there is about bringing all to the table for peace talk which he is very good in. Igbo need that more than any other thing. So my friend, that is the most important thing. The rest will follow naturally
This is what you guys are not seeing. Beyond your nose.
Hey, it may interest you to know i have been privileged to be in the same room with an ex military personnel who fought for nigeria during the nigerian biafran wars and retired as general. Will not tell you his country of origin but nigeria is held together by that country. Intense debate ensured. Moment of truth.
Half of what I said here is what he echoed. I was all over the place like you. Guy know nigerian tribes and what they are capable of more than I know my tribe. Igbo people are not ready for presidency. After the election,he rang me up. I told you so. They cannot withstand the shock. They will be slowly guided into it. And this is the phase we are in. Take this to the bank. The rest of our discussion, I will not tell you.
See, I understand your point.
Unfortunately you don’t understand mine.
And saying Igbos would want to grab everything if Obi should become president is you being dishonest. First of all, who will give them that chance? Does Obi look like he’s going to tolerate Igbos doing rubbish just because he’s president?
Do you really think Igbos of this generation are brainless chaps that have learned nothing from history?
There’s nothing absolutely wrong with Peter Obi being president in 2027 and Igbos don’t need to be slowly guided or eased into the presidency. We won’t go hysterical and we won’t grab the national cake all to ourselves.
I will repeat what I’ve stated before…. If the north is sincere about defeating Tinubu, then let them support Peter Obi. But if their aim is to grab power with the help of Peter Obi’s large followership, then let Tinubu continue, and let the presidency not come to Igbos in 100 years.
Vice Presidency is useless to southeast and Ndigbo in general.
You see threads like this are the kinds I avoid on Nairaland because I don’t have time for trash but because I will not watch while history is being rewritten, that’s why I’m going to respond.
And I’m doing this for the sake of the innocent minds who may have been too young in 2011 to know what played.
In 2011, after Tinubu supported Jonathan for the presidency, Jonathan and PDP zoned the speakership of the House of Representatives to Southwest.
Now, Jonathan did not only zone it to Southwest, they also zeroed it to Mulikat Adeola, a woman from Oyo state.
However, for reasons best known to Tinubu and his men, he kicked against that choice.
Do you know what he did? He directed about 30 ACN House of Rep members who were mostly from Southwest, to throw their weight behind Aminu Tambuwal, northerner from Northwest, to defeat Jonathan’s candidate who is from Southwest.
On the day of the inauguration of the House, the entire North threw their weight behind Tambuwal. With the ACN Reps from Southwest and others from East, Tambuwal won and Mulikat lost.
But today you people like this guy who opened this thread trying to rewrite history by blatantly telling lies to the world.
It has never been about the good of Southwest for Tinubu but about what will serve his purpose.
descarado: You are spewing gibberish. Highly disappointed. If igbo miss the opportunity of entering aso rock in 2027, you will never smell it again in 30 yrs coming. The only chance you guys get is through obi even if he is deputising. Once that door close. It will take miracle to open again. Realignment will happen again and you guys will start crying marginalisation up and down. An avenue is wide open for you and you are playing emotional sentiment with it. As if tinubu and co care about you igbo. You dont know anything about national politics. Stop talking please and allow sensible igbo people do the permutation and for first time since the end of civil war, an igbo man is projected to enter aso rock and fellow igbo is yapping nonsens. You well so? No matter how popular you think obi is, without the north, he is going nowhere. North has reached out to igbo. Do you know the realignment happening? Do you know what it took them?
It will bury the pains of the biafran civil war. No more dot. For the first time, igbos will belong and be part of nigeria. Don't spoil this golden opportunity for igbo people.
So ashamed of you and your likes saying south this or south that. Did you know that Datti betrayed Obi even though he was his running mate? That's how little you know about national politics.
Not shouting obidients up and down. Even if after south rule and north take over. When it's south turn, you think yoruba will support igbo.
You and fergie fall my hand. Anyway, you are one out of so may so your opinion doesn't matter.
Put obi as a presidential candidate and he will never win even if in ADC. He can only deputise and we will support him 100%. North is gonna test and see if it's worth the gamble. Obi is the sacrificial lamb. He has already acknowledged that. He do well,he will be projected for the presidency. Its people like you that's making him hesitate from coming out with full chest. If you cant support him, pls supporttinubu. Simple. No wonder it's said igbo people play politics of emotions.
What did Yoruba benefit from Osinbajo entering Aso Rock?
And what are the Kanuris, and the Northeast in extension, gaining from Shettima entering Aso Rock?
You see you are accusing us of playing emotional politics but it’s you who lack foresight despite having a lot of historical examples you can learn from.
Everyone thought Buhari would anoint Osinbajo as successor but how did it end?
Are you not seeing what is happening to Shettima? Him not running with Tinubu in 2027 is almost signed, sealed and delivered.
What am I saying? I’m trying to make you see how powerless, useless and helpless Vice Presidents usually are.
If we are to go by your thinking, what is the guarantee that Atiku and his men will handover to Obi even after 8 years?
What is the Southeast likely to gain from Obi’s vice presidency?
Give Atiku the ADC ticket and the entire south will unite behind Tinubu and majority of Obi supporters will rather stay home on Election Day than come out to vote Atiku. Or you don’t know that?
See, all this “Obi cannot win Tinubu” is stupid narrative they feed your minds to create inexistent limitations.
If the north is sincere about getting Tinubu out of power, they should give Peter Obi the ticket and support him across the north to do one tenure and hand power back to the north.
When the pictures of Peter Obi serving food at an event center in Owerri surfaced online, there’s nothing his traducers did not say about him.
Some accused him of hypocrisy, and of not being different from everyday Nigerian politician who eats corn on the road and fries Akara just because they are looking for votes.
But is that who Peter Obi is?
Well, the below pictures will answer that question. As can be seen in the pictures, Peter Obi was captured on two different occasions serving food while he was sitting governor.
Those of who support him know that we are supporting a character who has not only been consistent in his way of life, but also has an unimpeachable character unmatched by any politician alive in Nigeria today.
ALTERNATEID: Some of your ADC friends like Aminda and Penguin2 would argue that governors don't matter when it comes to presidential election. As it stands now, who exactly will mobilize for Atiku in states like Akwa Ibom, Delta, Bayelsa, Edo and Cross River in 2027?
In Akwa Ibom for example. there is no opposition party again. Both the APC and PDP structures have now been merged. Something similar will happen in Bayelsa. So, how can anyone defeat APC in those states? As it stands, Atiku won't even get 25% in any southern states except he runs with Peter Obi which is looking unlikely.
Who told you Atiku will be the presidential candidate of the coalition?
And talking about governors’ influence on elections, in 2019, Okowa was a sitting governor and vice presidential running mate to Atiku but did that stop Obi from winning Delta with more than 50% of votes cast?
The man in the North doesn't understand what you are saying, they will also not back Obi or Amaechi. Tinubu wins seamlessly again!
I know they could do that and that’s why sometimes I like what a character like Wike is doing.
All southern politicians should agree that in 2027, it’s either the coalition gives their ticket to a southerner or let Tinubu complete his 8 years. We won’t be the worst off.
fergie001: Datti Yusuf Baba-Ahmed on ChannelsTV this morning
Fergie001 I told you they would barrage Atiku with this kind of rhetorics until he’d have no option than to give way for a southerner.
By the time they are done filling up the entire media space with something like this, Atiku will almost seem like the devil if he insists on contesting.
Goldensword: I said it earlier that he's still working with Peter obi, he will act as a place holder for Peter Obi in labour party as plan B for Peter Obi incase if he fails to get the coalitions presidential ticket.
Please don’t reveal too much to people who think they know politics.
Ibadanfarmroad: chai, see delusion, no wonder ekpa and kanu dey totori una brain.
Datti wants to contest, he doesn't want to bea second fiddle again same way obi didn't want to be a second fiddle in 2023.
If datti secures the ticket from abure which is very likely and obi doesn't get the ADC ticket which is very likely too obi will have no choice than to deputies atiku or datti and look for another party.
Its barely two years to election and a serious presidential candidate is still sitting on the fence as to were to contest, by now we oight to have been counting how many governors, senators, hor members are with obi but no, he's still been played around.
Kukutente23: Delusions Nenadi Usman is the head of a caretaker committee for a birthday party not LP INEC only recognises Abure faction Same Abure was with Wike few weeks back Same Datti was seated while the NEC meeting condemned the NEC meeting Obi attended as illegal. That's short of accusing Obi of committing anti- party LP ya no longer available for Obi Except he wants to walk himself into a trap set to embarrass him
The Presidential running mate to Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has, while fielding questions from journalists, stated that there is no crack between himself and Peter Obi.
He went on further to state that there will never be a crack between both of them. That it is even easier to break the head of the APC than to bring a crack between the both of them.
Hopefully this will put the rest all the speculation of Datti breaking away from Peter Obi and how he was at Julius Abure’s NEC meeting to represent his own interest and declare for the presidency in 2027.
Tinubu’s supporters call him master strategist but it seems he has met his teacher in political strategy.
Now, before the ADC coalition was announced, some forces ensured the crisis in LP festered almost irreconcilably. Peter Obi’s traducers were happy. They accused him of being incapable of solving the problem of Labour Party and queried how he can be trusted to solve the myriads of Nigeria’s problem as he always claims.
After the coalition was announced, some people have taken it upon themselves to swear that Obi will never be the candidate of the coalition; they are certain the ADC ticket is already at Atiku’s living room. At the other hand, Tinubu has already started scheming on how to scuttle the coalition by either infiltrating it or activating sleeper cells within. What are we even saying? Shebi some people are already in court challenging the interim leadership of the coalition.
But here’s where it gets interesting. While Tinubu is trying to scuttle the ADC leadership (coalition), Peter Obi seems to be having two pronged approach towards the resolution of the Labour Party leadership crisis.
The first is being part of those who enthroned the Nenadi Usman led Interim Leadership.
And secondly, we just saw Datti appear at Abure led leadership’s NEC meeting obviously representing Peter Obi’s interest.
And that’s where Tinubu’s confusion sets in.
Where now does he wait for Peter Obi?
At ADC?
Or in ensuring Nenadi Usman doesn’t get accepted by INEC?
Or ensuring Julius Abure doesn’t accept Obi back into his fold should INEC end up interpreting Supreme Court judgment and end up continuing to recognize Abure?
The big question is how are you sure the LP crisis is not a deliberate manufacturing of Obi and Abure to give the enemies hope?
As it stands now, it seems that whichever way the pendulum swings, Obi is game. Whether ADC, Nenadi Usman or Abure, Obi’s chances remain untouched.
In the end, it seems the ‘master strategist’ will be taught true strategy in 2027.
CodeTemplarr: If successfully created the old allocation of Delta must not exceed new allocation for Anioma and Delta put together ooo. Otherwise expect thw north and West to collude and create 100 states.
Make the north and west come together and create 1,000 states na. Wetin concern us?
Since you lots have zero sense of equity in your veins.
I’ve just confirmed that what you guys have against the East is beyond politics, it’s pure hatred, wickedness and vicious malice.
But las las, Anioma State will be created and all you can do is distant hisses.
The truth is that Anioma State is the most viable, most significant and most consequential of all the claims for state creation especially in Southeast.
Create Anioma and add it to Southeast. All other National Assembly member with any other proposal for creation of state in Southeast should drop it.
About 90 Senators Back Bill For Anioma State Creation in Push for Southeast Equity
Anioma State creation proposal has garnered support from about 90 senators, surpassing the constitutional threshold for state creation.
A major milestone in Nigeria’s quest for equitable state creation and inclusive development is beginning to take shape, as an overwhelming number of senators in the 10th National Assembly have reportedly declared support for the creation of Anioma State proposed to become the sixth state in the Southeast geopolitical zone.
With about 90 Senators, well above the required two-thirds constitutional threshold, reportedly already backing Senate Bill 481, there are indications that the initiative has gained unprecedented national traction.
Leading voices from across party lines, religious and regional affiliations were said to have rallied behind the movement, anchored by Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District.
The bill, formally introduced in the Senate as part of the ongoing constitutional amendment process, sought to promote equity, national cohesion, and federal balance by addressing the historical underrepresentation of the Southeast in Nigeria’s state structure.
Sources listed those publicly endorsing the proposal as including the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele and Senate Leader, Abba Moro.
They also included former governors Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia); and Southeast political heavyweight Victor Umeh.
The proposal was also said to be enjoying the backing of former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel; FCT Senator Ireti Kingibe; former Plateau Governor, Simon Lalong; and Anambra North Senator, Tony Nwoye.
Their unified support underscored the national character of the movement and signalled its strong prospects for legislative and eventual executive approval.
Nwoko, in a letter dated May 27, 2025, urged Senate President Godswill Akpabio and his colleagues to back the bill, citing the urgent need for justice, equity, and inclusive development.
According to political analysts, the Anioma State proposal has now moved from mere agitation to a concrete legislative reality.
Factcheck0001: just like obi got back anambara on track when he ruled the tiny state for 8 years n poverty increased?
Tell us u need Ibo president we will agree but don't tell us obi is d most competent
Before Obi, Anambra was a crime scene.
Crime rate was so high that it overwhelmed law enforcement agents and the previous governor resorted to non-state actors called Bakassi Boys who came and started butchering people in the streets of Onitsha.
Even the motto of the state was “Home for All.”
But Obi came and all that changed. He restored sanity to Anambra State.
Criminals were ran aground.
He changed the motto to “Light of the Nation.”
And from then till today, Anambra has not remained the same.
That’s what Obi will do in Nigeria - restore order.
Like he said, he will put the lunatics who have taken over this asylum called Nigeria back in the cage and ensure only sane people take charge of any facet of governance in Nigeria from the presidency to ward councilors.
But it’s obvious people like you don’t want something like that because you will be at the losing end.
The disputed Labour Party candidate for Surulere state Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Olumide Oworu, was part of those who came out yesterday to participate in the Peter Obi @64 birthday March by the Obidient Movement.
I was surprised to see him because I thought what he did in 2023 was him trying to be opportunistic . But it’s safe to say he has some level of conviction for the course.
Happy birthday to a visionary leader. A true symbol of integrity - Mr. Peter Obi. Your unwavering dedication to good governance, accountability, and a better Nigeria continues to inspire millions, myself included. 🇳🇬✊🏾 #HappyBirthdayPeterObi #LeadershipWithPurpose
