Governor Bello Matawalle has received 52 political groups into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gusau, Zamfara state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser, Public Enlightenment, Media, and Communications to the governor, Mr Zailani Bappa.


According to the statement, the defectors came from different political groups including the Women Frontier for Matawalle.

The Frontier group was led by Hadiza Rufa’i-Imam who said members would henceforth work for the success of the APC in the state.

She presented different women groups from Daza and Tamburawa villages in Bungudu Local Government Area of the state to the governor.

She said the women, who were card-carrying members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had defected to the APC.
