Politics › Re: I'm Impressed By The Current Igbo Political Strategy, If We Lose We Lose by Penguin2: 4:08pm On May 18, 2022
RightToReject:
The part that caught my attention is where you mentioned the usual laughable phrase of Igbos being called "naive" politically by most ignorant and wannabe wise political commentators from different parts of the country, especially those on this platform. Don't tell me that you do take people with such myopic thought seriously.

For the record, the Igbos have never been politically naive. That they aren't well-represented in the executive arm of the current dispensation doesn't automatically make them so.

This dispensation - not republic - aside, they have always gotten fair share of their place in the Nigeria political equation; they were more visible in the first republic government than any other zone from the South; the same as in the second republic; in the third republic when pushed, after the IBB government banned political exposed people like Nzeribe, Iwuanyawu, Ekwueme from emerging the presidential candidates of their respective and prospective parties which made it possible for political neophytes like MKO Abiola and Tofa to later enter the race to grab the SDP and NRC tickets in the 1993 presidential election, they scuttled it via Nzeribe's ABN.

Of course, at the inception of this fourth republic, in fact until the present dispensation in this fourth republic, they have been active players.

So, when ignorant and mischievous people say the Igbos don't know how to play national politics, I laugh hard at their foolishness.

The inability of an Igboman of the South East geopolitical zone to emerge the president of Nigeria yet isn't because of political naivety or lack of wherewithal of any form from politicians from the zone, but because of feeble-mindedness and small-mindedness in general of the majority of the voters from other zones, which is traceable to a fundamental issue.
Perfectly mirrored.

Politics › Re: What Judgement Did The Supreme Court Give On The VAT Issue On May 6? by Penguin2: 2:01pm On May 18, 2022
Parachoko:
The Federal Government want VAT to be on the exclusive list, but the bill failed.

34. A Bill for an Act to Alter Part I of the Second Schedule to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 to include Value Added Tax on the Exclusive Legislative List; and for Related Matters.

Yes - 41
No – 44
Abstain – 0
Total: 85

The Bill failed to Pass!

VAT is not presently on the exclusive list, so I see the FG losing the case.

I wander when State Assemblies will start working on the bills because there will likely be a timeline for them to work on it.
Thank you for reproducing the the voting result.

FG wanted to surreptitiously bundle VAT into the Exclusive List in the new constitutional amendment but the bill failed to pass.

With VAT not being in the Exclusive List right now and in the upcoming constitutional amendment, there’s no way the Supreme Court will rule in favour of the FG except they want to manufacture the laws by themselves.

Southern unity was going to happen with Jonathan but Tinubu’s greed, stupidity, inordinate ambition and foolishness threw a spanner in the wheel of what was going to be the best chance for the South to stand as one.

I’m happy he would be getting nothing out of it.

Atiku's case is dead on all fronts.

The Incorporated Trustees of the Civil Society Observatory for Constitutional and Legal Compliance have no locus standi to institute the case.

On the merits of the case: The case is neither pre-election because it was filed out of time nor post-election because they didn't go to the tribunal.

They may be fined for even bringing up the case.

Politics › Re: Atiku: I Won In 2019 But Robbed Of My Mandate By APC by Penguin2: 4:07am On May 18, 2022
Throwback:
That Atiku won in Igboland whose numbers are inconsequential, does not mean he won all over Nigeria.

Atiku is the first presidential candidate of a major party that will lose his own polling unit right inside his ancestral village.

That shame will always remain with him.

What about those who stood by Atiku in the North?

Baba Galadima only recorded 2 or 3 votes for PDP in his polling unit. No wonder the old man staged his own kidnap to avoid the humiliation that was to come, only to come out of hiding days before the election when it became obvious his "kidnap" will not add an extra vote to PDP on election day.

Bukola Saraki was roundly defeated in Kwara, such that he lost his own Senatorial election, while PDP did not win a single Local Government in Kwara.

I repeat, that Igboland majorly voted Atiku with inconsequential numbers, does not translate to a national victory of majority votes.
Lol!

Funny lots

Who won in Southsouth states? Oh! I forgot they are Igbo states too.

By what margin did APC win in Southwest? Or Southwest is also Igbo region abi?

True.

Atiku won the 2019 elections fair and square.

But APC stuffed ballot boxes with ballots in Borno and Yobe.

And that was how war torn Borno and Yobe had more voter turnout than Lagos state and other peaceful states.

But Supreme Court will rule on Atiku’s case on 25th of this month, same day it will rule on the VAT case. Fergie001 what do you think about Atiku’s case in the Supreme Court?

Recall the crux of the case is that Buhari lied to INEC that his certificates are with the ‘Military Board’. Now plaintiffs are contending that there’s no such organ known to our constitution and therefore Buhari’s victory should be annulled.

See your reasoning

A good leader needs to be in touch with reality on the ground and not what his aides are saying; aides that might lie to him.

Now, how best do you connect with reality except being on ground? Going to meet and speak with the people affected so that they themselves will tell you where the shoe is pinching them.

Politics › Re: Atiku Abubakar Versus Ahmed Lawan - What Is Your Prediction by Penguin2: 1:53am On May 18, 2022
abobote:
Stupid comparsim, Ahmed Lawan that will step down for Tinubu before primaries
Una dey like deceive unaself sha.

Op, an election between Atiku and Lawan would be landslide victory for Atiku.

You know why?

Because only the north will vote for Lawan. And that northern votes will likely be split into three if Atiku, Lawan and Kwankwaso are on the ballots.

With the splitting of northern votes, Kwankwaso is likely to take Kano and get some fraction of votes in other states in the Northwest.

Atiku will win the Northeast with Adamawa, Taraba, Bauchi as PDP states, he add some votes from other non-PDP states to take the region.

Atiku will win the north central with the herdsmen menace in that region, I don’t see them voting APC again.

In the south, with Tinubu and Southwest feeling betrayed, Southwest might cast protest votes against APC in favor of Atiku or Kwankwaso, whoever Tinubu decides to go into alliance with. That’s if he doesn’t defect to SDP and be on the ballot himself.

Where the Southeast and Southsouth stand is already obvious and I see no need overstating the obvious. Even as I feel Lawan might likely choose Orji Uzor Kalu as running mate, I can assure you it won’t change anything as to where Igbos would vote.

You would understand better when you remember that Buhari ran twice with Igbo sons as running mate but we no send am.

We even voted against Ojukwu.

I’m telling you these things just so you realize that even an Igbo running mate won’t change where Igbos will vote.

The only thing that might tilt Igbos towards APC is if an Igbo man is the flagbearer and PDP gives Atiku their ticket.

Lastly, I wish to let you know that 2023 elections will be decided in the south.

Buhari is an Army man, Fela said Na Army Arrangement, they know the implications of trying that nonsense, no political party will field a Muslim Muslim Ticket.

And no Muslim candidate from the South as President, & Christian from the North as Vice President can win any general election in Nigeria.

Jagaban has billions of Naira to waste, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has no chance, the odds are against him.
This is the reality they are always scared of accepting.

How can Muslims take what’s meant for the north because there are majority Muslims in the north…

Then a Muslim will also take what’s meant for the south where Christians are majority.

So Amaechi will only get the votes of delegates from Rivers while other Southsouth states will vote Osinbajo. Chai!

Some people are too stupid to exit with humans abeg.
