Cc: Mr Vitalis BKay Penguin2 PaChukwudi Actually right now, APC has no choice but to pick its presidential candidate either from the Southeast or the Southsouth if it tends retaining power in 2023. If it goes back to the north, defeat. If it goes southwest, defeat. But they are free to dare. |

omoharry: Exactly my thought . The SE cannot expect the presidential ticket to fall on thier lap, just like that na! I am from the SS but I believe the Igbos are not serious in clinching that position yet..Just look at the last PDP convention , only the Northerners had flyers and posters every where to indicate Thier interest but Peter Obi posters were no where to be found . No region will go out of thier way to fight & support another region, knowing that every is region selfish and self centered, and only looking out for Thier own .
You cannot complain that other region are not giving the SE a chance when you guys have not been able to launch any meaningful & massive campaign in support of one credible candidate from the SE. These other region can manage to look your way after various lobbying and convincing for them to see reason why your region should be given a chance. And at this junction , the SE must be able to bring forth a credible candidate that other regions can reckon with & reconsider for the sake of equity (especially now that Nigerians are looking for a viable person go lead us out of this hell hole that we have all found ourselves). Then the SE leaders can travel even further, across board to mend fences with old foes in other regions and create new allies as well; so as so as to lobby their support for your candidate.
All I have been seeing from the SE is thier desire to clinch the presidential seat, which is executed by only talking , issuing threat here and there and telling Nigerians why the Igbo must be given the Number one seat but there is no concrete plan and any meaningful task on ground to achieve that . No consultation among themselves on who they should present for that position. No traveling across the nook &cranny of Nigeria to consult, lobby to sell Thier candidate.
The only thing we have been seeing from Thier Governors are ass-licking and betrayal of Thier own people with the hope that they will be favoured to clinch the presidential seat. No Igbo wants to come out because should an Igbo man get the PDP ticket, it is you the Yoruba that kill his candidacy with propaganda with your media arsenal. You will make sure to remind northerners that a vote for an Igbo man is a vote for Nnamdi Kanu and that he will divide Nigeria. We know you. We have seen through you. And besides, who said power must be about contestations? Why can’t Nigeria develop its brand of democracy where zoning is constitutionally entrenched? It will reduce apprehensions, bickering, violence and tensions that come with this struggle for power as we presently have it. No region of this country is in lack of people with capacity. Or is there? It is people like you who enjoy violence and spilling of blood that are against zoning so that power will be contested in the brutish old ways which brings about rancour and bitterness. Why must it be so? |

slivertongue: Let me say it again. APC will zone her ticket to the South &PDP's will likely be won by a Northern candidate. The North careless about party but care much about individuals. Most Northern PDP members worked against PDP for the benefit of Buhari. Buhari's atrocious & divisive governance style which most Northern APC politicians have copied has pitched the electorates against the party. Many of the big wigs are out to destroy the party with impunity. They know a hurricane is about to sweep through Nigeria's political landscape thus the stage managed crisis. The new INEC technology will drastically reduce the so called '12million votes'. Most Southerners don't know that APC is dying in the North. Most households in the North ain't only battling with extreme poverty foisted on Nigeians especially the North by Buhari's myopic & failed leadership but are victims of terror in their home states & communities. Seriously Northerners wants APC out, APC has not shown much commitments in carrying all shades of interest along. Obj &Gej did well for Nigeria so the concern now is not about tribe, religion or region but competence. Most Northerners are either quiet or playing along with APC but even the APC here know dooms day awaits them. Succinctly captured! But zombies keep living in foolery. They believe Tinubu, their personal lord and savior, or Osinbajo, his boy boy, would defeat a northern candidate by landslide in 2023 because a certain Abiola did it in 1993. |
Politics › What Next Now For Anambra Politicians That Defected To APC? by Penguin2(op): 8:32am On Nov 07, 2021 |
As we expect the final results of the Anambra governorship election, let’s take some time to reflect on some pre-election events.
Prominent among those are the supposed ‘high profile’ defections of some APGA and PDP elected members culminating in the defection of the Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke.
When these defections were happening, those of us who know the Igbo man in general and the Anambra political terrain in particular, knew that these defections were of no consequence but those who play politics differently in their regions didn’t understand it.
But I guess everything is clearer now. That Ndigbo are not a people that follow big name. Even Nnamdi Kanu, any day we see he has derailed we will leave him with speed of light. So nobody can guarantee you the loyalty of the Igbo man. You have to earn it!
So, now that the election is as good as over, we need to know what next for the ill fated politicians who defected to APC?
The House of Assembly members who defected, are they gonna return to APGA and say what?
Chukwuma Umeoji who I learnt is a House of Rep member, does he hope to recontest that same position in APC or he will accept his fate and disappear from Anambra politics?
Stella Oduah that defected from PDP, is she going to hope to retain his senatorial seat in APC? Something that almighty Ngige couldn’t do simply because he was in APC.
And the deputy governor, I suppose he has reached the zenith of his career in the state politics and would be hoping that APC win re-election in the centre in 2023 so he can get some compensation, if at all.
So, Ndi Anambra, what is the most likely fate that would befall the defectors? Are some of them popular enough to retain their seats in APC or this is the end of their political career in Anambra politics? |

LegendHero: Lol trust me in the 2023 election, the voter turnout in the SE won’t be even up to 5%. You are so so so inconsequential in the scheme of things.
Tinubu just need to liaise with the SS leaders by giving them options they can’t resist. They are not hateful beings in the SS, they still think with their brain and even as bad as Buhari was in 2019, they gave him over 30% of the votes, let alone Tinubu/Osinbajo.
Jonathan is just PDP by book, in reality he has long lost hope in the party. By 2023 when Asiwaju/Osinbajo will be on the ballot, Jonathan himself will come out to support them and that’s when you will know Nigeria have left you Ibos behind with your hate filled politics.
The first step we did is to make sure none of your candidates are sellable, even Obi Pandora knew he is helpless which explained why they all dare not flaunt their posters during the last PDP convention. You have been conquered psychologically, fearful to pursue the presidency you so longed for, and relegated to 5th class citizens politically.
As it stands now, even Ijaws get rep pass Ibos. The only place that Tinubu had chance of getting 5 percent of votes cast was in Edo. But did you see how APC candidate was roundly beaten even after Tinubu’s infamous video? Now if his influence couldn’t do Jack in Edo, tell me where else Tinubu stands a chance in Southwest. Tell me that political influencer in Southsouth that will align with Tinubu. Ask yourself, why is SWAGA not campaigning in SS/SE? Because unlike you that is living in denial, they know that there’s nothing here for Tinubu. Their target is north. But I have question for you, what if North doesn’t vote Tinubu or Osinbajo in 2023? Game over abi? It’s payback time for you guys in 2023. Instead we will be alive and watch a Yoruba man become president in 2023, we will rather vote for Buhari’s third term. You should have asked Tinubu to do a video for Andy Uba in Anambra. So that he will be defeated by wider margin. Nonsense and Southwest Presidency! |

About Tinubu's chances in the SS,we saw a glimpse of it during the last Edo elections.
Again #SSnobiSW Lol! I like the realistic instances you gave him. Edo is the only state that Tinubu can possibly garner considerable votes, but Seeing how APC candidate was roundly beaten even after made a video claiming the father of democrats, it’s obvious that Tinubu has been rejected even in Edo. Now tell me which other Southsouth state can he garner votes from? Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom or Delta? I was waiting for Tinubu to do a video for Andy Uba |

Igboid: Nope. The word wickedness doesn't exist in securing ones national interest. That's exactly what the Minorities did to us during Biafra.
Our drive is not wickedness or kindness, but desire to secure our own interests. It's as simple as that. We have no friends, enemies or brothers. We ally with you, even if your the devil once our interests are currently aligned. Who ever is at the receiving end of our actions to secure our interests would have to deal with it like we dealt with ours during the war and post civil war.
The worst thing to happen to us as Igbo people is Christianity. It made our people senseless, soft and sentimental. Incapable of being ruthless enough to do things that must be done.
Moreover the way I see it, most Southern minorities are pro NIGERIA unity and not secessionists. So we would only be helping them maintain their unity with their Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani brothers. I don't see any harm in that, you never can tell, Ndiigbo might just be the Jonah in the Nigeria ship, maybe once we leave, Nigeria can finally become great and the minorities would be better for it too. I understand your point clearly. This thing you are saying is what US does. The United States can cut deal with the devil if it will protect their interest. They have been accused of even arming terrorists so long as it will bolster their interest. So it won’t be bad for Ndigbo to do the same. Cut whatever deal that fosters our interest whether good or bad. |

The North would still have more than enough oil producing territories in SS to hold unto. If we agree that we will not in any way sponsor or help the non Igbo minorities in their attempt to break away from Nigeria once we leave If we accept to even help the North with logistics, including human, material, road and air access to keep the remaining parts of NIGERIA United for atleast another 1 hundred years post Biafra Secession, I think they might just play ball. Omo your proposals are scary. That would be wickedness against the Southsouth minorities na. The only people who deserve such treatment are the Ikwerres. |
