I’m only speaking to the courage and willpower he has shown to make tough but necessary decisions for the long term benefit of the entire country.

All these things you said now are the necessary first shocks and reaction of the economy to the changes. Overtime, all these things will start to stabilize never to be so shocked again by anything.

Remember fuel was 1,200 at a time. But see what is happening now. Local supply and competition has brought the price way below 1k. Once more refineries come onboard and more competition, the price will go even further down.

These things are gradual. But any lasting gain and success always comes gradually.

You need to understand that I’m not defending Tinubu.

He has done a lot things wrong. I’m not even his supporter. I’m a Peter Obi man till forever.

I’m just speaking to the courage and act of removing the fuel subsidy. What he has done since the removal is totally out of the consideration of this piece. And we all know that they have not gone about redistributing the gains adequately. Instead, they have embarked on profligacies and wasteful spending.

Today I see one Obidient who is objective and didn't allow ethnic interest to cloud his memory.

Some of us who support Tinubu still criticize some of his actions but we do so with sincerity of heart and not because our candidate lost an election.

Personally I expect Tinubu administration to have put a mechanism in place to monitor the spending of increased revenue to the state. Many of these governors simply pay salaries and the use the balance to buy dollar, that's the reason why naira has not appreciated despite the fact that Nigeria no longer buy imported fuel with scarce dollar.

The second area am not pleased with the administration is the continual attempt to tolerate the inefficiency of the disco, I expect the government to have revoked license of many of the discos who have performed abysmally to serve as a deterrent to other, Nigerians should not be made to suffer inefficiency of a private company.

I don't agree on subsidy removal though. It was the theft that made it balloon. They should have tackled that. Or wait a bit for local refining to come on stream. Or take measures to protect the most vulnerable. And much of the gains made from it have been seriously undermined by inflation.

If we start looking for excuse, we will find one thousand and more excuses as to why subsidy should have been retained for a little while more or removed in phases, but e good as go like this make we suffer the suffer once and for all and never go through this route forever.

FUEL SUBSIDY: “Fuel Subsidy is gone” was part of the last phrases he uttered on his Inauguration Day and since that day till date, Nigeria has not remained the same. Fuel price ballooned to the roof and with it the cost of transport and essentials rose astronomically almost beyond the reach of an average Nigerian. But was he wrong? No.

In a country where fuel useage cut across on production line and businesses the essence of "fuel sibsidy" can not be undermined relative to ease of business operations.

FIY, fuel subsidy is the only benefit that touches every Nigeria, and from a holistic view the gains outweigh the negativity attached if transparently implemented

Since we have stopped Fuel subsidy what have changed and what have we gained infrastructure wise, as you and i aware " borrowing" still on the rise.

There was no deception.

Fuel subsidy had become unsustainable and truly had to go.

And about the gains, you need to understand that this is an action that will yield long term effect though it’s painful in the interim. So, 2 years is not enough to ask for the gains, infrastructurally.

But even then, there has been some immediate gains as states now have more money at their disposal to achieve more. We can question how many of them are using the funds judiciously but you need to understand that the current crop of kleptomaniacs will not remain in power forever.

Some day, the people that will use the money well will come.
