Lol!

In 2022, before the PDP primaries, we matched the streets of Nigeria asking PDP to give us Peter Obi and leave the rest to us. But they said Obi cannot win election that it must be Atiku.

And so Obi left PDP and took us with him.

By the end of the election in 2023, their almighty Atiku running on the platform of the almighty PDP was only 800k votes above Peter Obi (by INEC’s announcement). And so, Tinubu was announced as president.

Now, as 2027 is approaching, we are telling whoever cares to listen to make Peter Obi the candidate of the coalition but the fools think Jonathan is better. Okay na!

Make una kukuma prepare for Tinubu’s 8 years.

PoliticsProtest Erupts At Lagos APC Stakeholders Meeting. by Penguin2(op): 12:00pm On Apr 15, 2025
The Obasa fracas may have broken Lagos APC beyond repair.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting in Ojokoro LCDA, Lagos State, ended in chaos on Monday over alleged imposition of a chairmanship candidate.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting began peacefully at 7, Ijaoye Street, at 4:00 p.m. before aggrieved members stormed the venue in protest.

Protesters chanted “Ole!” (thief), “We can’t take it”, and accused Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, of imposing a candidate from Agege on Ojokoro residents.

Other chants included ‘Who knows Sanusi?’, ‘Obasa can’t control us from Agege’, and ‘We won’t allow a stranger rule us here’.

Speaking after the disruption, one of the protesters, Mr Olusegun Akinoso-Olawaye said the meeting aimed to ratify an imposed candidate with no ties to the council.

He stressed that a chairmanship aspirant must reside in Ojokoro, have worked for the party and actively participated in council politics.

He warned that imposing an outsider with no electoral history in Ojokoro would have negative consequences.

“We are here to reject imposition. All aspirants deserve a fair contest to prove their political relevance,” Akinoso-Olawaye said.

He noted there are at least 18 aspirants for the chairmanship, all of whom had supporters present at the protest.

Mrs Bola Ojetayo, another protest leader, lamented that party leaders often prioritise personal interests over the will of the people.

She said the protest aimed to prevent installation of an unfamiliar figure as the next council chairman.

“We must not sell our seat to outsiders. A stranger cannot come and lead us in our own home.

“Leaders can’t sit elsewhere and decide for us. Someone in Agege shouldn’t determine Ojokoro’s leadership,” Ojetayo said.

In response, Mr James Owolabi, a former House of Representatives member.and APC stalwart in Ojokoro, urged protesters to remain peaceful and avoid violence.

Owolabi, who represented Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency, acknowledged the concerns and affirmed their right to protest within the party.

“You have a voice in the party. Express yourselves peacefully without violence,” Owolabi advised.

Other APC leaders present included Mr Jelili Oseni, council chairman, and Ipoola Omisore, a former Lagos Assembly member.

Also in attendance were Alh. Amosu Aminu, Chief Oriyomi Olaogun, and Mr Akindele Aremu, among others.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has scheduled the local government elections for July 12.

Politics“Go And Learn Governance From Otti.” Jonathan To Governors by Penguin2(op):
Isn’t it instructive that it’s the only Labour Governor that is being used as a yardstick for others?
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigerian governors and leaders who aspire to excel in leadership to visit Abia State and learn from the achievements of Governor Alex Otti.

Jonathan’s remarks came less than 24 hours after former President Olusegun Obasanjo praised Governor Otti for his efforts, following the commissioning of a 46.3-kilometer reconstructed road in the state

Speaking during the 80s Reunion Dinner and Award Ceremony of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Alumni Association held in Umuahia, Jonathan—represented by Ambassador Godknows Igali—described Governor Otti as a model of purposeful and result-driven leadership.

The former President, who was in Seoul, South Korea, receiving the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize, lauded Governor Otti’s development-focused governance, noting that his accomplishments in less than two years in office demonstrate clear preparedness and vision.

“The presence of Alex Otti in Abia State shows intentionality in leadership. He came prepared. Before now, when people heard ‘Aba made,’ they would laugh. But today, people are proudly embracing it,” Jonathan said through his representative.

“Governance in Nigeria should take a cue from what is happening in Abia State—the intentionality of leadership that is focused on delivering real change. Nigerian leaders should emulate Governor Otti’s example.”

Jonathan also commended the UNIPORT alumni for their significant contributions to Nigeria’s political and socio-economic development. He highlighted that the institution is the only one in Nigeria to have produced six state governors and a Vice President who became President.

In his response, Governor Alex Otti thanked the UNIPORT 80s Alumni for selecting Umuahia as the venue for their reunion, 12 years after their first gathering in Port Harcourt, during the tenure of fellow alumnus Chibuike Amaechi as Governor of Rivers State.

Governor Otti encouraged his fellow alumni to consider public service, emphasizing that the political space provides greater opportunities to make a lasting impact.

“The political space allows you to positively impact the broader society, often in ways that surpass what’s possible in the corporate world,” he said.

He revealed that his administration is currently renovating 200 primary health centers and 221 schools across the state’s 184 wards. He added that the state’s annual budget allocates 20% to education and 15% to health, a combined 35% investment in human capital development, which he described as “non-negotiable.”

As part of the reunion activities, attendees toured several ongoing infrastructural projects under Governor Otti’s administration.

The Vice-Chancellor of UNIPORT, Prof. Owunari Georgewill, praised the Governor for his developmental strides and appealed for further support from Otti and other alumni, citing accommodation as a major challenge facing the institution’s over 40,000 students and 5,000 staff.

The event also featured the presentation of Excellence & Service to Humanity Awards to distinguished alumni.

Notable dignitaries in attendance included Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, former Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State, and Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), among others.

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.

PoliticsRe: Security Check Points In The East. My Experience. by Penguin2:
Rich4god:
The next day, we continued our journey from Umuahia to Enugu via Enugu Port Harcourt expressway. This is a very major road, so anyone who thinks am lying can come and refute me. On this road also, especially from Umuahia to Okigwe and before you enter Enugu, there are check point in less than every 2 kilometres along the express. Though most of them didn't make it mandatory for us to settle them, but the delay tactics they employ is already showing, "settle us so you can go" vibes. This is too bad. Also they don't even check anything serious, and for the fact that security men come under attack from UGM, they aren't even alert to thwat such an attack. No wonder UGM usually succeed when they attack check points, cos those men even the soldiers aren't cautious and alert at all. And to make the matter worse, the check points on this road are mostly situated on the hilly side or valley side of the road. This is a disaster waiting to happen, as trailers use that road very well, meaning that when they are stoped at a hilly check point, due to the load they carry, their brake can easily fail, then they start moving backwards, crushing all the cars at their back. Or when they are coming down the slope approaching a check point at the valley, they can still fail break and crush all the cars holding up on the check points. What's our govt thinking. Those check points are a threat to life of the citizens plying that road.

The Enugu side of the road don't have numerous check points like that of Umuahia to Okigwe.

Now from Enugu to Nsk through Ugwuobo Nike to Opi junction, check points there are plenty and they keep collecting money from motorists tactically. The tiring thing is that two days before we pass there, thee was a kidnapping incident along the road, 3 days later, there was another kidnapping incident. Now what's the essence of those check points if they cant even stop criminals from kidnapping people.

Politicians from the East especially those at those national assembly should do well to address this issue of excess check points along the eastern roads, as to me personally, they are not doing anything there to help combat insecurities along those road that they are manning.
The East is under siege.

Our region is more militarized than Northeast.

The war ended in 1970 but they are still fighting us.

Then they wonder why we are angry.

They wonder why Nnamdi Kanu has followers.

They wonder why Simon Ekpa has followers.

It’s because the people are frustrated and angry, and would always fall for anything that suggests a path to freedom.

PoliticsGbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Bags Traditional Title In Badagry. by Penguin2(op): 6:07pm On Apr 13, 2025
What message are Lagos indigenes sending?

Because every political watcher would agree that before now, no traditional ruler in Lagos would dare openly bestow a title on an opposition figure.

The Labour Party governorship candidate in the 2023 governorship election in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, was on Saturday installed as Obalefun-Agbaye of Obatala Worshippers Worldwide in Badagry.

The title was conferred on Mr Rhodes-Vivour by a group of traditional religion worshippers (Obatala worshippers), led by Oba Adedokun Ayinla, the Alase Oosa Agbaye Worldwide.

Obatala is one of the revered deities in Yoruba land, depicted as a wise and compassionate god by followers.

Speaking during the installation in Ikoga area of Badagry, Mr Ayinla said leaders of traditional religion worshippers in Yorubaland agreed to confer the title on the politician.

According to him, the Akran of Badagry, Menu Toyi 1, gave his permission to confer Mr Rhodes-Vivour with the title with a crown and staff of office.

Mr Ayinla, however, said Obalefun Agbaye only made Mr Rhodes-Vivour a leader among Obatala worshippers and that he could only wear his crown during religious activities and ceremonies.

He noted, “But listen carefully, if you are a religious leader or a chief, you should know that the traditional ruler of the town is superior to you. He is the custodian of our customs and traditions. You have no power or right to put on your crown and staff of office to meet him in his palace and see him. It is wrong.

“This is just a crown among traditional worshippers. Some of us have many crowns, but we only wear them during religious activities or when we celebrate traditional festivals. This is just a traditional religious crown and must be used on occasion like this or during religious festivals.”

Mr Ayinla and other religious leaders prayed for Rhodes-Vivour after which they handed him the staff of office.

The excited Labour Party chieftain thereafter danced round the venue of the installation to the admiration of religious leaders and other Obatala worshipers present.

Speaking, Mr Rhodes-Vivour thanked the religious leaders and other worshippers for the title, promising to live up to expectations.

The former governorship candidate was accompanied to the installation ceremony by his father, wife, friends and some Labour Party members.

Again revisionist!
Some act "smart", forgetting that others can see through thier schemes.
Zik started tribalism for his personal interest, not for igbo cause even!
Read history!
Contest for western premier was in 1950s, so tribalism didnt start then!
Egbe omo odua was formed in 1945 by students in the uk. (Awo was secretary, while Adeyemo Alakija was president). Zik wrote from Nigeria condemning it's formation (calling them imperial stooges and jingoists), forgetting that IFU (Igbo Fed. Union and ibibio Fed union) were already formed since 1938 and 1926 respectively. I know this coz I read the rebuttal campus article.
Zik then inaugurated the Yoruba Fed. Union in 1948 (exposing his tribalism) to weaken Egbe omo odua. That singular move unfortunately helped to rally support for the latter just like the current yoruba consciousness. The beef was so evident that ibos and yorubas bought all machetes in the Lagos market prepping for fight that year.
With this historical background, how do you blame Awo for tribalism during premiership election in the 1950s,considering Zik made the statement below in 1949:
If Zik was as terrible as you are trying to paint here, why did Westerners (Yorubas) vote for his party and not Awolowo’s party?
