The signed result papers at the polling units is what really matters. The IREV is just for update purpose to keep everyone updated in real time but it doesn't change the results at the polling units.

Just imagine that in 2015, Rivers alone gave Jona 1.5 million votes, a number that we all know was fake. In 2023, the number of votes for all the candidates did not reach 1.5 million.
BVAS has made the Nigerian election more realistic than ever before.

PDP and other parties were writing election numbers prior to BVAS, now it's more realistic, even though there are still other ways everyone try to cheat.
Any party that claims they never tried to cheat is a lying MOFO.

I have witnessed many elections in Nigeria, and the 2023 election is the best so far by a long shot.

The North is not a monolith. Tafawa Balewa's party had the largest number of votes, but they were far from being the majority. They needed to form a coalition with another party to run the government.

By the way, Obafemi Awolowo approached Azikiwe and asked for a coalition. Both parties, combined with some other Northern minority parties would have been enough to form a coalition. Azikiwe would have been prime minister and Awolowo wanted to be minister of finance.

Would you blame Azikiwe?

How do you expect him to form Government with a man that betrayed him and used tribalism to get his NCNC members to defect to AG and prevent Azikiwe from becoming Premier Western Region that his party, NCNC, won the majority in the House?

We need to go back to Regionalism with regions controlling resources. This can happen even with a presidential system. All we need is just the law that will enable it.

What I hate is that some of these men are old enough to know why Parliamentary System of Government was dumped for Presidential System.

The ethnic and religious configuration of Nigeria does not support parliamentary system of government because the north for instance can come together and perpetuate themselves in power by continually voting a pro-North party to gain majority in the National Assembly.

That was what happened in the first republic before Independence even.

Before then Azikiwe’s NCNC and Awolowo’s AG were the only major political parties.

But in the build up to independence, Ahmadu Bello registered NPC as a political party and used tribal sentiments to get northerners to vote the party in the 1959 pre-independence election.

That was how NPC (Northern Political Congress) won majority at the National Assembly and had to produce the Prime Minister in Tafawa Balewa. Making Nigeria to miss out on the refined leadership of men like Azikiwe or Awolowo as Head of Government.

And if the 1966 coup which truncated democracy hadn’t happened, the North would have continued to vote their party and hold on to power for as long as God knows.

Bring back Parliamentary System and you face similar scenario all over again.

If there’s anything we need from the past, it’s regionalism.

They should die this parliamentary bulcrap.

It will drastically reduce the bandwagon effect that comes with a party winning the presidency.

With the current structure, once the president is declared, the governorship election is always formalities most of the time; with the party of the president-elect having obvious upper hand.

Just imagine Presidential, Vice Presidential, Governorship, etc, elections were organized at once in 2023, LP would have won about 11 governorship seats and over 30 senatorial seats.

But I can swear to you that Tinubu and his hordes of fools will not allow this see the light of the day.
