There's a cancer in APC that destroys the thinking faculty of those who join it. You can't tell me otherwise.
So all this argument to justify why presidency should not be microzoned to the Southeast Abi? No problem.
If your argument is valid that we don't need to zone the presidency, then it is a valid venture for the North to retain it. Let it not come to South at all.

plaindealer: When was the last time Tinubu it no Tinubu made the SE politically relevant in any shape or form?
Is Tinubu the beginning and the end of life, survival, political relevance and success in the SE?
Instead of sitting on your hands plotting, forming hatred, bitterness and anger against one man who is not even responsible for anything in your life or region, shouldn't you be looking around your own borders to groom and support viable and credible presidential hopefuls with influence and acceptance inside and outside your borders?
Must you even prove my point for me? Obsessing over one-man and playing spoilers shows how dire and precarious your situation is, you have zero power, zero political strategies, zero political influence even within the party that you support, you have zero political leaders with power and stature to direct any political influence and rewards to the SE, all you have remains lame talk, tribalism, bigotry, hopeless political sentiments and emotions and obsession over one man, Tinubu, this is how hopeless your situation is.
Very sad. You are really pained that we are going to play spoiler against Tinubu's chances. Lol. You ain't seen nothing yet. You can accuse the Igbos of anything but one thing you can't accuse us of is issuing empty threats. If we say we will do something, we will do it; in unison. And if you think Tinubu can do without Igbos, let's wait and watch. Awolowo thought he can do without Igbos, it ended in shame for him. Abiola thought he can do without Igbos, it ended in shame for him. Tinubu is toeing same line and it will end in shame for him. Mark this somewhere! The only Yoruba who ever succeeded in becoming president was Olusegun Obasanjo and he did so with Igbo support. Tell Tinubu to try his luck. Shalom! |

bobowaja: I don't owe you any explanation as Tinubu is a Yoruba leader and accountable to Yoruba alone till he gets to the presidential seat where he will be accountable to all. But for educational sake, I will lecture you. Be my guest.
1. He provided free healthcare services including free ante-natal care for women, free eye treatments and free glasses, popularly called 'JIGI BOLA'.
2. He pioneered the Bus Rapid Transit System and LAGBUS
3. He established the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA)
4. He improved Lagos state revenue from several millions to billions.
5. He created more LGAs against the fg wishes to facilitate dividends of democracy at grassroots level.
6. His leadership funded Lagos state budgets without fg interventions. He looked inward.
7. He has penchant for human development. His footsoldiers are everywhere as evidence for this.
8. His progressive template is still working for Lagos till tomorrow.
Lemme watch you shift goal post again and spew nonsense as usual It's pathetic you are mentioning creation of LASTMA, LCDAs, distribution of eye glasses, etc as Tinubu's laudable projects. Very petty things. Sam Egwu who was governor of Ebonyi when Tinubu was governor of Lagos also created over 64 LCDAs in Ebonyi. I guess we should also dash him the presidency since that is your yardstick. When people are mentioning spectacular, laudable and legacy projects executed by a governor, shame no catch you to mention those trash. No mention of Roads or bridges to help ease traffic. No mention of Housing Units. No mention of Hospital built. No mention of schools built. I now see why you are supporting Tinubu. Because you have terribly low standard of choice of a leader. So at the end of the day it will still be a loss for Nigeria whichever way between the two Great picture! Now, that's when you look at their choice of VP who might be their likely successor. And again, are you trying to tell me that between Tinubu and Atiku, that Tinubu is a lesser evil? |

garfield1: One of the problems why pdp is losing ground is because they are fielding unpopular candidates while apc does the opposite in the ss.this is rampant in crs.even though the apc candidates might lose but their popular votes rub off on the president.in cross river, only hon dansuki, esien ayi and jarigbe can boast of winning elections without rigging while the rest depended heavily on rigging.apc fielded grasrooted people like prince otu, effiong ekarika, hon egbona, victor mature, egbe jabengo, koko dan and jude ogbeche.only alex won but while others won, buhari had useful votes in their constituencies.pdp is planning to field an unpopular senator gershom for governor....
In bayelsa, diri is not popular yet pdp imposed him ahead of the popular alaibe.apc simply fielded Lyon who is much loved and he won easily...
Governor ayade has lost out totally in crs pdp.he has no reason not to defect esp now that he has openly attacked wike verbally.he will likely defect next year close to the primaries not now unless pdo intervenes miraculously and cedes the senate ticket or guber ticket to him which I dont see happening.the people of ss are well educated and enlightened and people are now showing interests in elections, rigging is becoming more difficult In all, I think it's a good thing that we are getting more intelligent, democratically. Let's see how things pan out. Happy Sunday to you, Garfield1 But I would love to have you under the umbrella. |

It is an open secret that Tinubu has always had his eyes on the Nation's highest office. Reason he wanted to deputize Buhari in 2015 to shorten his route to the presidency but for religious sentiments.
Now, as another general election draws nigh, Tinubu and his lieutenants has been clearing the grounds and testing the waters for Tinubu's declaration for the presidency. While his boys are trying to unite the whole of Southwest under Tinubu candidacy, Tinubu himself is doing everything reasonable and unreasonable to warm himself into the heart of northern voters; donating money to victims of Katsina inferno, chairing the 12th Arewa House Lecture and all.
But one thing is conspicuously clear, and that is that neither Tinubu himself nor his lieutenants has made even the remotest of move towards the South East and the South South. And I want to ask why?
My people say, "oku nyu ahuru, ala achuwa ya oso" (literally, when the fowl polutes the air, the grounds chases after it). And by that I mean that Tinubu must be avoiding the SE/SS because of the role he played in the defeat of GEJ, a president they accused of favouring Igbos.
Now, if politics is a game of interest, how would the rest of the country want Igbos to vote for Tinubu, another President that would not be favorably disposed to the Igbos just like Buhari isn't?
Because avoiding the SE/SS in their early campaign clearly indicates where Tinubu is looking to create his allies and if he eventually wins, that would mean another 8 years of an Igbo hating govt.
This is a call on my Igbo brothers and sisters, if they APC ticket goes Southwest, let's not insist on the PDP ticket coming to the East. The North won't vote an Igbo man. Let the presidential ticket go to the North while the VP ticket comes to the East like in 2019. Let the fight be between the North and the West.
If the northerner wins with the PDP with an Igbo man as VP for 8 years, the anti-Igbo sentiments in the North must have been subdued to a very minimal level to create a favorable ground for an Igbo presidency.
This route might be longer, but it's better than having a president that hates Ndigbo for another 8 years.
Penguin is a bird of reason!

garfield1: I am from cross river, people dont hate apc ad you think.they are just used to pdp but are gradually warming up to apc...
Diri is not performing, he is still weak and cannot withstand sylva or Lyon.the people still love Lyon, the apc rigging machinery in bayelsa is still alive... Ikwerres have only 4 lgas.majority of the voters there arw non indigenes.pdp usually take advantage of the large igbo settler population plus igbotic speaking areas like etche, omuma, onelga etc to win election but it is time for the riverine people to rule.they will ally with the ogonis.wike has lost the igbo support due to the massacre in oyigbo, him denying being igbo plus his average performance and in2023,he will concentrate on nation politics which will distract him while apc have settled their issues and are strategizing... Senator Albert almost singlehandedly made udom return and most akwa ibonites see him as the next Governor.udom is not popular and is planning to impose another unpopular candidate.akwa ibom pdp cannot survive his defection. Crs is dicey as you said.pdp with still retain delta but apc will get stronger. In summary, apc might not win governorship in any ss state but they will get stronger and win other seats.whoever flies their ticket will not get below 38%...apc too will get stronger in south east... Once apc retains presidency,it will be easier to win governorship in the ss Now you are giving me some reasonable and appealing analysis. Well, you are from that region so you understand it better so I give it to you. First, you are right about Wike losing Igbo support. He has lost it completely. In fact it's hatred now. Especially his infamous "I am not Igbo" statement. Like you said, if he insists on an Ikwerre candidate, and APC presents someone from the riverine, I see a possible protest vote against Wike. Again, Bayelsa has really been quiet. Diri doesn't seem to be doing anything spectacular that will make Bayelsans enthusiastic to vote him again. So he needs to step up. Then in AKS, Udom should better not play with the sentiments of the people. Denying Alaibe ticket was where PDP started to lose Bayelsa before the Supreme Court judgment. The PDP NWC should make sure they move with they people like they did in Ondo and not repeat the Bayelsa mistake. In CR, do you really think Ayade would defect? |

I'm not happy because democracy is about the number and with what I'm seeing, power is going back to North in 2023 I understand your point. That apathy came first, from the fact that Igbos feel they have no business with Nigeria especially when the Nigerian govt consistently enacted policies that are anti-Igbo. Again, is the fact that most Igbos feel votes don't count. So they are usually of the thinking that no matter how they vote that INEC will still announce who they want, so what's the need in voting. We need reorientation down here. |

I am a fan of rotating power among senatorial districts of both state and federal, but if you know Rivers politics, you know that the majority of Rivers voting strength lies with the Ikwerres which makes the votes of the Riverine Ijaws a kind of insignificant. Make no mistake, I don't want power remaining with the Ikwerres but I know that Wike can't venture into that if he will lose. Lastly, Cross River and Akwa Ibom have this inherent hatred for APC just like their Southeastern brothers. PDP will win AKS irrespective of who gets the ticket.
