Davidylan. You don't like black Americans in general. You've established that. Now why are you trying to force your opinions/perceptions down a black American's throat? Just leave her be. |
Now I realize what it is. Both sides described the other with such extreme words of condemnation as to make their displeasure come across as almost farcical. This Peter T. Jenkins character may not be aware of what his subordinates are doing or he may just not give a damn - in which case they need to fire him. |
This guy just doesn't have his facts right. Doesn't Cross River 'produce' cocoa in significant amounts? So why is he mentioning cocoa? Or is Cross River suddenly Yoruba? Cocoa and rubber are the largest non-oil exports from Nigeria and the production is spread out across different ethnicites and political regions. Anyway, the agricultural sector is nowhere near where it should be so it's a waste of time trying to argue about who contributes the most to it. I can't be bothered to dissect his rant but I should point out that anybody actually claiming that the non-Western, non-Eastern, non-Northern states can't or don't produce anything other than oil is a fool. |
afam4eva: I think the minorities are having it better than the majority groups.Think again. |
RIP |
Interesting thread. |
2mch: See the person wey dey escape reality dey talk about ham and sham dey call my comment hogwash. You better get out of fairyland and face the issues. 12 tribes of isreal ko, apruka africa ni.lmao |
How can he have any house of his choice in Abuja? What does that really mean? That if it's a ridiculously expensive house, the Rivers state government will still have to pay for it? If these reports are true then Amaechi is a scoundrel and a thief. |
RIP to everyone on that plane. |
It's funny how people can't seem to agree on whether GEJ is politically challenged and politically incompetent or whether he's a student of Machiavelli. Anyway, virtually everything this el-rufai clown has been saying sounds dumb to me and this case is not an exception. |
Is there any way to watch it online? I want to see Theroux's 'interpretation'. |
Hmmm . . . |
Tpia, what did your 'real' Bini friends tell you Binis in general think of Yorubas? And how old were they at the time? And what is it that the Bini in particular do that makes it seem like there's no other ethnic group that they 'like'? And do any other Nigerian groups behave similarly? I'm just asking for my own enlightenment. |
Something about this story is hilarious but I can't put my finger on just what it is exactly. |
Nigeria never ceases to amaze me. Imagine Christopher Ogbunnaya coming out to say Southerners will determine ANPP's leader. This Shinkafi guy is on another planet. |
Watches will be totally obsolete within the next 15 years. |
Dede1: Some political minnows will smile at Decree 8 for a simple matter of idiosyncrasy and totally forgot that eastern regional Revenue Collection Edict 11 of 1967 challenged the sincerity of such foolish decree. Talking about 13% or even 50% derivation policy in today’s Nigeria is a mockery of political vision. It was apparent lack of political wisdom that led the southerners to join force against the Ndigbo and Biafrans in 1967 war of identity. That edict = 100% derivation. But honestly, why limit it to regions? Why not go down to the LGA/council level? If a particular region wants to be able to do whatever it wants without agreeing with others, wants to contribute nothing to any other regions or to the upkeep of any national institutions financially, and wants its own standing army independent of the other regions, what exactly is the point of being in the same country or giving the impression that being in the same country is even tolerable in the first place? My view of decree 8 is that it was a good enough compromise at the time and that when tempers and emotions had cooled down and the soldiers weren't calling the shots, an arrangement more agreeable to certain groups could have been worked out. I never said all groups had to see it as ideal - it probably wasn't - but it should have been clear that it was a reasonable enough compromise to start with. |
He's just making it worse for himself. |
Was this the source of the story? : http://eagleyereportconnect..com/2012/05/well-not-allow-what-happened-to-abiola.html I haven't seen the quote in a more reputable source yet. |
Just saw the 'change email' feature on my profile. Never mind @ Seun. Problem resolved. |
^^^^ Is 'South south' suddenly synonymous with Ijaw or are you as dumb as Asari Dokubo? Or do you see Ibibios, Efiks, Urhobos and others blabbering on idiotically like Dokubo? In fact, what evidence is there that many other Ijaws share the views of this man, who may in fact have serious mental problems? And only 13% derivation is hardly doing anyone a favor. There was a time when it was 50%. Focus on Dokubo and how what he said relates to your group instead of trying to construct a narrative that has no correspondence with reality. Most people and groups in Nigeria are just opportunists although nobody wants to admit it. |
ndu_chucks: I heard about this years ago, Asari supposedly suffered from mental disorder was kept in chains in an assylum in Port Harcourt.Alright, now we're getting somewhere. Anyone know the specific condition? |
careytommy: Nobody should take him seriously. What most people don't know is that Asari has a history of insanity. He was once locked in asylum for this way back in 1981 so I'm not surprised at his outburst. If you don't mind, please elaborate further on the part of your post in bold. |
@ Seun, how can I change the email account that's associated with this user name (PhysicsQED), delete it and replace it with another one? I don't want this particular email account being spammed by NL email stuff. The updated topic notifications are too much already and this member emailing stuff is going to make it worse. |
