Christianity Etc › Re: 14 + 1 Religious Lies.... by pickabeau1: 1:44pm On Jul 22, 2014
My dear i am not upset and i wonder what you mean by using the bible to justify wrath
Scriptures canbe taken out of context granted however I believe they are sound and consistent

Is the issue about 40000 denominations?

I agree Christ has been relegated

Can we do a discourse of your list..one by one...

MizMyColi: These lies are told us in different shades. You might not be able to relate, because you may've decided to discover God for yourself. I know only 2 Nigerians at the moment who have left Instutional Christianity. Its not an easy journey. Talking about searching scriptures for oneself, personally, I've not read a bible in about 6 months - is the bible bad? No! what's bad is how we read it, for even the bible affirms that the letters killeth but the spirit gives life.

We use the bible to justify our wrath and we've taken so many scriptures out of context. People search the scriptures to find life in Jesus instead of searching Jesus to find life in the scriptures There are over 40,000 Christian denominations today world over and isn't it irking to know that they all find justification for their belief in the same scriptures?

How does that fulfill or espouse Jesus' ideal of "that they may all be one"?

We have put Christianity over Christ and Religion over Spirituality.

Beau, you might wanna go thru the list again, that you've not been told doesn't mean it isn't happening. Heck some of us might even be afraid to admit so for fear of losing our religious comfort zones and security wink

That Said -

I do not hate Church neither do I not hate Christianity [methinks its a good place to start]. These are my views and is not intended to upset anyone. If you are, please know that I'm sorry. smiley

A life of giving? smiley

Let your right hand not know what the left hand is doing

Rev.Chris spoke extensively on this very issue in one of his sermons. According to him ” working in line with God’s will and direction for my life has made me buy more expensive cars and wear more expensive clothes than most of my colleagues”.

He jokingly told the church on one of such Sundays that he spends over two hundred and fifty thousand naira each Sunday buying gifts for people.

Recently, he added a Rolls Royce Phantom, 2014 edition to the fleet in his garagewhich cost him a whooping sum of N80m. That was to be a personal gift to celebrate his 27 years on the pulpit and 30 years as a born again Christian.

Why are you insisting that he is not a nigerian? He was just born there, except from that he is nigerian.
He was birthed by Nigerians who have settled in that country
after his parents die.. he has no link

Nigeria is one country in the sahara desert where they dont wear cloths.thats all he knows

it's not about what really happened but what can be proven. if he can back his claims that the culprit had mental issues in the past, then there's no case to be answered.

that's america for you - the land of the free.
ok.. noted... lets see how the case pans out

Kinkybraids: Well these are great characteristics and im not disputing them but all I'm saying is that many Nigerian men who date SA women arent thinking long term or marriage as he knows he will go back home at some point to take a Nigerian wife. I strongly believe that if a South African girl dates a Nigerian man she should know its just for fun or to experiment but it mostly likely wont lead to marriage especially if he isnt based in SA. Im just being realistic...it saves a lot of heartache

Also the Stereo types about South African women (which are not true in all cases) dont really give SA women points in the marriege department when it comes to Nigerian men... or other foreign men
At the bolded..You see the harmful effects of stereotypes yet indulge in some of your own undecided
I know of people married to Southies and having good marriages.. ive met a couple and they are caring and warm

your denial won't change his status quo. his name gave him away. no AA or white american bears the name okonkwo. this man is from nigeria(thoroughbred). where he was born means shyte in the grand scheme of things.
It doesnt dude and you know
Its not a denial.. its the plain fact.. hes american

How do you know he has mental illness.. the lawyer is claiming!

naija-american ko, naija-new york ni. look at his face & his nose and tell me you don't see this kinda face everyday in oyingbo market.

if he has had cases of mental illness, why isn't he in a hospital? he won't get sent to prison. he would be in a mental hospital for some time & then get released again. the system failed the deceased & mrs okonkwo!
Dude.. this guy looks american..hes even born there.. na americana tongue

oyingbo wetin... this guy is a pure botta pikin men... e no resemble

MrRenaissance: Now imagine my shock when I came back to this thread to see cococandy, whose parents, herself, and her village; babymama1 called USELESS now standing up with her hypocrisy when babymama's privacy was invaded.
This is so true she hates Nigerians
The bigotry of the OP is well known
She despises Nigerians, muslims, any tribe that is not Igbo and all what nots
I wonder why cococandy cant see the forest for the trees focussing on what one poster did to the OP and not what the OP did originally

i remember a post she raised that Nigerians dont use deodorant and stink
She even went as far as saying Nigerians stink thats why the airport is damp and hot(something caused by faulty a/c)

sean123: yea really respect your replies. The funny thing is she seems to have handled herself very well in all this. I just kept losing my cool. Do u believe she manipulated my emotions? The problem with starting over is trusting her. She knows my weaknesses and it seems like she used it against me. Which other posters seem to have picked up on
On the manipulation side,i know too little to say so as you are also culpable as you tried to guilt her also
So at best both of you are guilty in a way

Without trust, forget it

on weaknesses,... no how a woman will not know your weakness except you dont want to settle down with a woman

I agree with you

She has already done well previously showing she has a generous heart

Anything more than that is just famewhoring.. so does she collect the gucci sandals huh

bizngr: Though she might be trying to pass the impression of "How To Treat A Maid" to the millions of Nigerians out there maltreating theirs but I think her constant use of the term "maid" in reference to the said girl is a bit uncool to me considering the local emotions that word evokes amongst Nigerians (blacks). She should remember that the girl will one day grow into a lady and consequently, a wife/mother/grandmother. Displaying her picture with that "maid" tag might not be a good idea in the long-run. It can even lead to some sort of social stigma.

In the western world, it would have mattered less but over here our understanding of that word is different and often misrepresented.

sean123: 1. Yes if i know she is truly interested and not just going with the flow while banging some other guy
The only way to know is to ask her and start again.
You cant know if she is seeing someone else. Trust is important especially in a LDR

2. She is starting NYSC next month then masters after. She wants to go yankee but if things go well can convince her about jand i think
ok.. this is workable but has issues too.. she may prefer to go to yanks

3. Exactly what she asked me when i was still trying her (how will the relationship work). I will probably start speaking to her before i go so when i come to naija we will just talk. She can come to jand for hols and all. I know long distance aint easy but o well. The whole thing seems stretched tho which is why i guess you said leave it. The attraction phizzled out. What i need is how to restart it
1st Bolded is good.. just take it you are starting over
2nd Bolded.. exactly why i said move on...
Romance › Re: .. by pickabeau1: 11:54am On Jul 22, 2014
Hmm,...

No need to rehash what has happened

1. This is what i said.. If you want to kick things again.. Are you ready for a long distance relationship

2. What are her plans? her aspirations? SHe may even be thinking of coming over for studies?

3. After you see her in naijan and if she grees for you.. what next

sean123: Never really denied i had the feelings. She knows that. Her stance was that she did like me at the start cos she thought i was different from the typical naija guy but i was not so she started studying me and we argued, i said she didnt have manners, told her to leave and hung up all in a month. So she cant like me. yes she still calls her friend my name sometimes but i need to change. Things got worse when she went back cos i have handled the situation terribly. Deleted her off my bb and re-added (which she agreed to), i told i loved her and was down (yes not proud) and she told us to start over saying we need to open up more and communicate more. It just did not feel right cos she was calling the shots. So i went on holiday and put up pictures of me with other babes (very immature i know) she has not buzzed since. what do u think of all this? Is it best i leave it the way it is? Can we still be sort things out when i go naija? whats the best step? Most think i should leave it for now and revisit it if i am interested later but i reckon she could forget all about me by then
Romance › Re: .. by pickabeau1: 11:34am On Jul 22, 2014
sean123: You are spot on with the summary. Wish i came on here earlier. I guess i still like her but fear of not knowing what is on her mind drove me nuts. Even after we had arguements when she said she was leaving and i told to go and insulted her she still came over after i apologised. We made out and she was turned on (saying she liked rough sex and how hard i was - ok abit of alcohol was involved) she just stopped half way. The funny thing is i still gave what i bought for her even after she said we could not work (i was advised to cos i told i got it already and not giving her would look immature). All this things have so entered my head. Getting it out has proven very difficult.
So admit to yourself first that you have feelings for her

If you want to pursue those feelings.. that is another issue..

Long Distance Relationship has its own complications
