As per special request, some pics from my tour of the calabar carnival some years back

Our women are beautiful and can be more so with better skincare (not toning oo).. i dislike that ish

Some quality ladies... i hear the quality blew out in more recent versions

But no more time... responsibilities and all

smiley
Dantedasz: Please post more EYE candy I beg. It will at least lighten up this dreary thread.
In my own opinion girls at yhe annual Calabar festival will give these South American broads a run for their money. Any one ever heard of Calabar fattening rooms where girls are taught to be girls and proper wives to their husbands? They arr taught the rudiments of cooking and how to give pleasure to their husbands. grin

damiso: Abeg make una go open another thread for una eyecandy tongue Mr pickabeau and co were you not supposed to be watching the beautiful game tongue

Hi lorretta I just thought to comment to add my two cents.I read the article and even if did not read I think I have shared on these boards that I studied Femininsm from the academic view point(my final year degree project was on feminism in Islam) and I wrote and researched my project myself(too stingy to pay 50k to get someone to write it for me lol grin) so i studied it and know the reasons for the advent of the movement. So yeah your article makes valid points but I just want to digress a bit.

I think I read somewhere you said one of the things that made you embrace the feminist ideology was that you were denied a position you were more qualified for simply because you were a girl. That is not on but I will share my own experiences which is similar to that of a lot of girls I know and as such why I don't think not nececesarily wanting to be called a feminist in any way means you believe women should be shackled.

I grew up around very very strong women in positions of authority. My paternal grandmother was not western educated Infact she sold pepper in her local market(you know those big time pepper traders that had to go the north) and gradually became the iyaloja(I think its called head of market in English) of her neck of the woods and male local government chairmen had to defer to her.My mum is from ijebu and I am not lying when I say ALOT of the women from her side of the family are extremely strong women(there is even an unfair stereotype that ijebu women jazz their husbands grin) women who were never treated inferior both at home and in the workplace. My mum rose to management level of a govt parastatal and at the time of her leaving the MD was female, they had female executive directors and a lot of women around me were just doing as well as the men.My primary school proprietress was female and was in a position of authority over the headmaster who was male.My secondary school principal was female with a male vice so I had examples of females in authority around me and as such was not even an issue of women always being beneath men.

As I have shared on here I was also lucky to have a father who helped myself and my sister believe in ourselves,My brother is the only boy and he was never treated like he was better than us, my mum would send him to go grind pepper and my dad would tell me to go put on the generator so it was never a gender issue in our household but who was available at the time.My brother used to grumble though that none of his friends were sent to grind pepper when there girls or house help in the house(was apparently picking it up in their houses grin) but that was his business cos my parents never listened grin. My grandmother was the first child of her father and had equal inheritance as her brothers. My mum even though from a polygamous background had as much say in what happened as her brothers and in short decisions were not made without her input. My grandmother resisted being married off to my grandfathers brother after his death and nobody did anything to her.

I was head of literary and debating society in primary /secondary school,my deputy was a boy.I was also part of the quiz team and sometimes led us to quiz competitions. We had head boy and head girl and they were both as influential as the other(went to mixed secondary school).Male and female prefects were the same.I led teams (as long as I was the more capable person) and so maybe I was lucky and shielded a bit from that patriarchal construct of males being ahead of females growing up but it truly was never an issue for me. I was just taught to be the best I could be,run my own race, not let anybody try to bruise my self esteem, believe in myself and not feel entitled.I believe those ideals are what is best we teach our children(both genders)and not try to teach the girl child that you might to have always fight for respect and the boy child you are inherently better.I have one of each gender and I hope We are able to impart those values into them.

coogar: what iron clad protection?
do condoms not leak? what other choice does a man have if his condom leaks? feminism have long held that women should not be punished for being sëxually active by taking away their options when an accidental pregnancy occurs. why then do our policies now aim to punish and shame men for their sexuäl promïscuity?
You miss my point.. condoms are almost always foolproof... yes there are instances of mistakes... yes.. but not common

Should a man be responsible for his child... hell yes
That is what a man does

But i am not interested in a long debate on the merits and demerits of feminism vs paternity now
That is why i advocate for protection or avoidance of sex
Family › Re: Boys Night Out Discussions by pickabeau1: 12:14pm On Jul 05, 2014
well I like to think I'm honest. So honestly I understand religion to be man's quest to understand God.like I told you before,I'm christain because I was born christain. I may disagree with the principles and teachings of other religions(and I do)but in the depth of my heart,I've never seen other religions as inferior. I don't have the if-you-don't-believe-in-jesus-you're-going-to-hell mindset.
You see I'm aware people once believed in and worshipped Zeus who is a myth today but very real as of then. It is also possible that 3000yrs from now, Jehovah and Allah will be myths taught in schools as the gods of ancient people and then they might laugh at our funny beliefs and wonder how human beings could have reasoned the way we did.
what does that say about religion? It just shows that religion is dynamic and as long as the human race exists,we will not rest in our quest to discover and truly explain God. It is not counter-intuitive
cococandy
This post got me thinking and i did not want to discuss it on the atheism thread

I will like to ask you some questions

- What is religion to you

- Do you believe in Adamic nature and that man is doomed from birth

coogar: it's one of the biggest frauds perpetrated by feminism in the 21st century. women don't demand child support when they go to spërm banks, why should men who have clearly stated they don't want a child be forced to pay child support for 18 years?
No, they shouldn't. Whoever chose to have the baby should be responsible for its upkeep. Why even wait for an abortion, there are all sorts of birth control techniques available to man. As early as day1, the need for an abortion should be ruled out.
While you have some merits... men too should ensure the have iron clad protection

Too many kids born out of wedlock

Abortion is not childs play

Birth control has hormonal impacts on women

Oh boy,..... see thesis

I was wondering why the focus on owerri myself

In my opinion she is still naive and immature.. she needs to mature a bit
Too much parental involvement

DailyNews: Very sad story!

But then, this has nothing to do with him being an Owerri indigene...I see u @op and others pointing at “Owerri guys are cheats, etc” making a very big mistake here by believing that he left u or cheated because he comes from Owerri, big FALLACY!

How many guys here that come from other tribes, race or region can come out boldly n say they haven't cheated or haven't broken a lady's heart before? I'm not from Owerri but I have friends from all tribes n even foreigners too who are so promiscuous and see women only as se.x objects needed for intimate satisfaction alone just because they're financially loaded. Unfortunately that's how most financially buoyant guys see women except that special one they've formed a long bond with; pls forgive my being blunt.

D sad truth is; d more money a man acquires in life, d more women he attracts and d higher his chances of cheating n keeping many intimate partners, except he is exceptionally close to God. So ladies, as ur partner grow financially, pls upgrade yourself too (in terms of beauty, trend...being more present for him, building more bond via shared hobbies/interest, having constant communication with him, etc).

Tribe has little or nothing to do with a guy cheating or breaking a lady's heart...even d men saying Owerri guys cheat, bla bla bla are also cheating on their wives or girlfriends, sohuh

I would rather blame his profession; most male bankers are unrepentant cheats and ladies are the cause of their cheating habit, how?

Ladies easily fall for these bank guys thinking since they work in a bank, they must be financially loaded to throw money at them.

I have some good number of banker friends and I know what I'm talking about. I have one now who has introduced me to different super-pretty ladies including Chinese ladies he said he would dash me if I want any; meaning he controls lots of women.

To them, women are nothing but people's currency they count n dispense on daily basis.

Cheating has evolved beyond tribe in our time...every tribe or race now cheat. In today world, profession and environment make people more prone to cheating than the tribe or race they come from.

From my honest personal experience, people in the underlisted professions cheat or have higher affinity to cheat:
1. Banking industry (female n male)
2. Oil & Gas Industry (mostly the male)
3. Showbiz/entertainment/movie industries (male n female)
4. Lecturing (majority of male lecturers are cheats; take it or leave it)
5. Medical sector (90% or more of male doctors are promiscuous, and large number of nurses are flirts)
6. Politics (once your lover/husband joins politics, just count your blessings)
7. Clothing/Fashion (guys into women fashion can hardly be trusted and ladies are to blame)
8. Hospitality industry (if your sweetheart works in a hotel, be ready to entertain any news)
9. Transportation (all pilots are promiscuous, most male drivers don't keep one woman...all air hostess are flirts, and most cabin crews are funny)
10. Sports (most sportsmen are cheats)

Does it mean that people in those professions shouldn't be loved or married? Nope...it only requires extra caution, effort and understanding to have a successful relationship/marriage with them.

I remember few years ago when my dad gradually joined politics while my mom condemned the move...the old man refused to listen to his lovely wife grin and gradually he became strong n was even nominated as our LGA PDP party chairman candidates, my mom saw that d heat was getting hotter she joined him n started following him to every party meeting (since both of them are retired)...she knew d danger n worked to stop it...

Same way, when my eldest brother wanted to contest for House of Rep, the wife fought against it...used every tool she had to discourage him because she know how tough it was for her @present talkless of when he becomes a political icon.

That's how most women u envy their relationship/marriage keep/protect their partners...they don't sit n wait for nature or God to do the whole work for them, so learn to protect your man next time.

When your boyfriend started making d plans to rent a house in a higher institution environment as a working class guy when he's not a student, u ought to have discouraged him by all subtle means...when he moved in there, u ought to have increased your presence to forewarn other prying eyes n desperate chicks that someone has been there and is still there.

If u like relax when u find an Anambra guy cos they are automatically good and reliable boyfriend/husband n watch out.

Some of my Anambra (Ogidi, Nnewi, Obosi and Anam) friends have numerous girlfriends aside their known partners just becos they are financially buoyant.

A frnd of one of my elder bro bought a lady Toyota Venza and took another lady along with him to his business trip to Berlin last year and he is married with kids and also from Anambra. Ask runs girls, Anambra men pay highest...with due respect to my good friends from Anambra, u guys remain my best alwayssmiley

If I go further here, many of u may quit your relationship....so let me stop here...just want to help u guys when making your choices.

People's profession and financial status go along way in shaping their attitude towards sex, romance and love. I know a good number of people from each of d professions I mentioned above and I also speak from experience. Some professions expose people to cheating while some give no room for cheating except the person is a habitual cheat.

Lastly, poster you didn't even help matters; like a poster rightfully said, u didn't protect your relationship so well. When this evil was nurturing, you did nothing to stop it until it developed. Pls when u enter your next relationship/marriage, put more effort to protect it so that u won't end up entering and leaving your partners for other ladies.

So like others advised, move on...don't pester him but subtly let him know that he hurt you and that you're moving on with your life. Also remind him that he failed after people warned you and u ignored them and gave him your heart with trust. Tell him that for every action in life, there is a reaction and don't just accept him if he comes back to his senses.

*if u must accept him back (that's if u are still single when he comes back to his demented senses), sweat him and give him hard conditions which he must meet:

1. Pack out from school environment
2. No intimacy till you guys finally define the relationship's true direction

If he agrees and meets up with the conditions, give him a narrow second chance while putting on a telescope, goodluck and happy weekend.

hmmm... tough q... but abortion while it can really be convenient and can clear a lot of issues is not as easy as it sounds
It causes untold trauma and can be damaging to the womb

Use protection to avoid problem or better still have sex within a committed relationship or wait till marriage

I am new to the section, but I don't see the double standards or problems in the OP. Point them out?

So you admit the " cherry-pickers" are "pseudo" and not true to generally accepted idea on what feminism is, right?

Why are NL men so up in arms about equality like its such a terrible thing for their counterparts to gain a footing in our African societies, and thereby improve our condition as a whole? Yesterday an 11 year old girl made FP for being raped by a grown monster 3 times her age. Last week, it was a women who killed her way out of a forced marriage to an abuser. Who is really causing the messes?

I hope by eye candy, you don't mean me and expect me to upload. Nor do I hope you expect me to go searching for eye candy women to post for your benefit. I'm positive you're capable smiley Onnila has beauty threads, this isn't one of them smiley

I welcome discourse wink
