D Quran is not a re-write of d bible so not all prophets mentioned in the bible reappear in d quran.
Nobody has claimed that the Qur'an was a re-write of the Bible. If anything at all, I have said that the claims in the Qur'an where Muhammad purported to have believed in ALL the prophets of the Bible are FALSE! The one thing that this thread is dealing with is the assertion that the Qur'an came to "correct" the Biblical scriptures, rather than actually coming to "confirm" them! That was why I carefully took the time to enunciate the meaning of "confirm" on the first page of this thread before requesting severally that babs787 (or any learned Muslim for that matter) should offer me the verse for the assertion of the Qur'an claiming to have come to "correct" the Biblical scriptures!

So far, that request has proven more than an embarrassment to our Muslim propagandists; and all we have read from them are the verses from the Qur'an that buttress my point that the Qur'an purports to have come to CONFIRM the Biblical scriptures - the very same Biblical scriptures that Muhammad handled in his day! What the Muslim propagandist should tell us is WHEN exactly did they disappear from existence for them to have claimed they were LOST?

I just simply want to know why Muslims are never consistent in their claims.

My dear @Nigeria,

I'm sure that davidylan has responded eruditely to your post. However, although I commend the calmness of your persuasions, I should like to add a few things as well to help contextualize our discussion in this thread. Rather than my usual line-by-line response, allow me to just refer to the salient points (so I don't run the risk of repeating davidylan's fine points).
THE MESSAGE IS BELIEVE N WORSHIP 0NE (1) GOD
Even so, is that what the Qur'an came to "correct" - or rather "confirm"?

The one reason why I opened this thread was to request babs787 to proffer a single verse for his assertion that the Qur'an came to "correct" the Biblical scriptures. If there was any verse for that idea, I am still requesting Muslims to kindly post that verse so that we can move on from there! So far, the verses already posted are yet only validating what I have said until I lost count:

The Qur'an came to CONFIRM the Biblical scriptures!

Not in one instance does the Qur'an remotely give the idea that it came to "correct" the scriptures of the Jews and Christians!
scrolls of moses n psalms were not reviewed in quran it was mentioned that they both were given scriptures,so personally i don't know where they r right now.
UNTIL Muslims find those scrolls and the Psalms, it will continue to be a futile argument on their part to castigate the Biblical scriptures.

The easiest thing for most Muslims today is to argue that nobody knows where those same scriptures are. My singular solution to that misconception is that they should realize the Qur'an was referring to the very same Biblical scriptures in Muhammad's day that he said he believed in and reverred!

Sunan AbuDawud, Book 38, Num. 4434:
. . They placed a cushion for the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him)
who sat on it and said: Bring the Torah. It was then brought. He then
withdrew the cushion from beneath him and placed the Torah on it saying:
I believed in thee and in Him Who revealed thee!

The one question I have been asking is this: what Torah did Muhammad claim that he believed in?

That was the same Torah that was in the possession of the Jews during Muhammad's time - and if Muslims are going to be honest, they will find that the same Torah has remained with the Jews until this very day! It was never LOST; and not even babs787 has been able to find the verse(s) where he claimed that the Qur'an stated that it was LOST!

Further, it would interest you to know that the same thing applies to the Zabur (the Psalms of David),  the Injil (the Gospels) and the other Biblical scriptures - none of them was LOST; and those who say that the Qur'an was stating that it (the Torah) was LOST are only lying through their yellow teeth - and they know it!

That was why I titled this thread in a very simple way: WHERE does the Qr'an say so?  If they cannot find those verses for their assertions that "the Qur'an stated" it so, then no volume of story-telling will atone for the fallacy of that statement!

Lol. . . and what do Muslims use - Muhammad and the BLACK STONE that they bow down to and pretend it fell from heaven for Adam and Abraham to build the Kaa'ba with? grin

Where did 'Allah' command Muhammad to venerate the BLACK STONE, when his own companion clearly said that the idolatry was merely a show off to pagans? cheesy

olabowale:
Same darn end product, association with God. The difference is only in name.
Yep, Islam associates Muhammad with 'Allah' - the difference is in your game!

Ask and I will REMIND you of the FACT that Muhammad associated himself with 'Allah' in many instances. He even went so far as to place himself above the commandments of 'Allah'. No pun intended - just come and rascally DENY the facts, and pilgrim.1 will bless your New Year with hard facts from your Qur'an and Hadiths! Trust me! grin

olabowale:
: Afterall, the Protestants copied their Bible from you. They only eliminated few Books, because of what, no one knows.
Are you still looking for your lost nose-ring? grin I asked you to simply give me the names of the 24,000 prophets and keep the remaining 100,000 out of a total of 124,000 prophets in Islam! Have you even attempted that assignment at all? And how come with all your noise, we do not find ANY book of those prophets to read in the Qur'an other than Muhammad's tales?

olabowale:
Th Catholic has the original Christianity, the protestant mold it to something else, courtesy of King James, who wanted to get devorce and was refused.
Lol. . . so the "original" Christianity that the Catholics had was the confirmation of the fact that Muhamamd derived his ideas about MARY being worshipped from them and pretended he was receiving revelations from 'Allah', abi? Hahahaha-hehehe!! grin I am very sorry for you. Please rest your heart and understand that Muhammad closed his eyes to FACTS and told a tale that had no bearing in the Bible. You may accuse from now till Jannah that the Bible is corrupt and all that; no worries. The one thing I ask is that you find me where ANY Christian WORSHIPPED Mary in the Bible!

olabowale:
: They would not do that. They are Protestants, protesting the Catholics.
That's true - Protestants do not worship MARY; and Muhammad's claim that "original" Christianity did so is a false claim. cool

olabowale:
Tell em. They don't know.
The claim that we do not know is what we are asking Muslims to reveal to us. WHERE did Muhammad get his false assertions from about MARY-worship in "original" Christianity?

olabowale:
While the Protestant was started with Martin Luther and King James.
No worries - at least those same men did NOT worship MARY, just as no Christian in the Bible ever did so! grin

Please in all honesty, let me have where I started it. I wont deny the fact that I insulted your parent and I owe you no apology for saying that because you caused it. You can't just be insulting people here just because we are on net.

Let me have any thread where I first abused or insulted you.
If you cannot deny the FACT that you insulted my parents, what is the hypocrisy you're trumping up to "have the thread" where you actually did so?

People have said all sorts of things about me - and in Catholic threads, for example, I have borne them all gracefully without seeking to trade insults at anybody's parents.

My response to olabowale was to point out the FACT that the Muslim observation that people should not insult the parents of fellow discussants is HYPOCRITIC at best! And you have just confirmed it with your words in bold (not that I sought an apology from you - but just so that olabowale can now see that Muslims really have no heart to be sincere in their call for peaceful means).

One thing is clear, though: my parents read your insults that very day, and my dad called me immediately and said that WHATEVER I do or say, I should remember he never brought me up to insult anybody's PARENTS! I assured him that I had no intention of trading insults to your parents even before he called me. . . and he also wanted you to know that he forgave EVERYTHING!

Whatever discussions I hold with people, I have not gone so far as to castigate or insult anybody's parents. You can please keep your apologies (because you had none), and be assured that nothing you say or do will make me insult your parents. cheesy

Enjoy.

Are you happy that it is growing?
You don't really have to force yourself to say anything - especially when you often come back with senseless statements these days.

As a former Muslim, the one thing we faced was the fact that Christianity was growing inspite of the threats that Christians faced from Muslims in the Islamic world. In as much as in other countries, Muslims are NOT discriminated against and given the freedom to practise their religion, the same can not be said about Muslims allowing Christians to freely practise their faith - even though some of Christians are citizens of their own countries in the Muslim blocs!

But when I became a Christian, I was happy to know that the Muslim propaganda had finally fallen off; and contrary to what we were made to believe, Christianity actually IS growing!

babs787:
Common, don't tell me that you don't read your bible at all because if you have been doing that, Jesus told you that wide is the road that leads to destruction and many will be following it while narrow is the road that leads to eternal life and few will be
Thank you for reminding me - I read my Bible daily, and I am well familiar with the verse and know it by heart! The one thing that we can be thankful to see is that the wide road to destruction in Islam is confirmed in Jesus' words; and those who truly find salvation to eternal life find that it is indeed a 'narrow door'.

Alhamdulullah. Whatever the age of Seyida Aisha was when she became our mother, we are grateful for it. Through her, many hadith came to light. In this I have found great joy. Through Muhammad I have been able to know that I can remarry. To an older woman, a widow, a younger woman, etc and i do not have to marry just one, if I have all the acutremens to handle the situations.

Hadith when translated from its original Arabic form, we see that it has a mistranslations, sometimes. However, the soundness of any hadith depends on how many narrations and the people in the chain of each narrations. Finally there is no set of years that every human is to reach puberty. I remember those situations in the 60s and the early 70s, when supposedly young women get pregnant. We reckon with the birth age only, not considering the mental age or the fact that there may be a phenomenon in the equation of each of the person.

I asked Nwando to do a very simple task, she had since disappeared. Leaving immatured minds to go about in a blind rage. As if that will profit a disbeliever. All disbelievers will enter Hellfire, without any exception. Period!

I will be waiting for you Mrs. Nwando, to attempt to explain the conditions of Aisha. We know an authentic hadith, when we read it and put everything in their perspectives. We know the personality of Prophet Muhammad. This is why we have been asking the like of Nwando to step to the plate of truth. There could have been anybody in the chain of narrators who is considered to be a hypocrite or just plainly wrong in the statement made. But regardless, we are greatly educated by her youth relatively to the prophet maturity.
All this long stories. . . HOW have you answered the simple question instead of foaming in the mouth? Where's Wordsmith? He needs to send for your prescriptions of anti-depressants quick! grin

Again, I repeat:

The Quran indeed came to confirm what was sent earlier and that is the more you tends to read similar accounts from both books. The Quran to confirm that God gave early prophets revelation and you can as well find that in the Quran.
This is simply saying the very thing I have said every single time! The Qur'an came to CONFIRM the Biblical scriptures and not to "correct" them.

Since you asserted that it came to "correct" rather than confirm them, please simply be a man and provide the verse(s) where 'Allah' said the Qur'an came to CORRECT the Biblical scriptures!

Instead of the long stories (which actually dribble round to buttress MY POINT), why are you finding it forever difficult to find the VERSE that uses the word "correct"?!? You have only come round to validate my point by saying that "The Quran indeed came to confirm what was sent earlier". . . rather than correct them! tongue

In other words, you have only defeated your bloviates, proven yourself even far more dubious than your previous adventures, and ended up agreeing that the Qur'an did not come to "correct" the biblical scriptures! grin

babs787:
Now if we say that Quran came to comfirm the early revelation, this is what it means:

Quran 2 v 99: and indeed we have sent down to you manifest Ayat (these verses of the Quran which inform in detail about the news of the Jews and their secret intentions etc and none disbelieve in them but those who rebel against Allah's command.
Lol. . . sounding even more desperate! grin Abeg look again at your "explanation" for the meaning of the Qur'an coming to "confirm" early REVELATION! Instead of finding a verse for what you asserted, you diverted into something else!

Is "the news of the Jews and their secret intentions etc" the same thing as the Biblical scriptures of "Torah and Injil"? Do you see how further confused your cover-up adventures are?

That is why every single time you offer such bloviates, I simply cross them out and ask the same question:

Find me the verse where 'Allah' said the Qur'an came to "correct" the Biblical SCRIPTURES!

You have searched in vain and yet found that 'Allah' never said so! The topic of this thread is: "Babs787, Where Did The Qur'an Say So?" Just where did the Qur'an say that it came to "correct" the Biblical scriptures, hmm??!?

Keep entertaining us - because as many times as you come with your stories, I will simply cross them out and ask the same thing UNTIL you find me the verses I requested! No juju you bring here will do you any good! grin

Unlike the three heads of god idea of the Christains, which is riddled with holes like Swiss Cheese.
My dear, please be notified - it is not only Muslims who can say unpalatable things about other people's convictions. Be warned once again. Because when I begin to expose the many things straight out of Muhammad's mouth, I hope you will not be in need of anti-depressants.

Secondly:

olabowale:
The two east is accompanied by the two west, in many Quranic verses. Duh! A person who has honesty will speak the truth. Not half truth.
Having said all you did, WHERE did you seek to enuciate the matter of TWO Easts and TWO Wests? You merely accused me of not showing 'honesty' - and I should assume that the Qur'an never mentioned "TWO easts"? This is not in reference to other measurements of locations - that was a direct reply to your assumption of CARDINAL locations!! You do not have more than 4 "cardinal" locations - and when you have TWO Easts and TWO Wests, that amounts to 4 already! Where then do you place the North and the South among the cardinals - for that would make 6 "cardinal" locations!

Dear olabowale, I think your tantrums should cease, please. I often sound out enough warning before I answer people. Where they fail to take my warnings on board, they have never been able to pick themselves up from the dust afterwards.
