Christians do not play the frantic games that Muslims applaud themselves over. If you have been on the Forum long enough, you'd have noticed that this is a recycled topic that has been thrashed already. Why would anyone be interested in wasting precious time repeating the same issue over and over again? cool

Besides, isn't amusing that Muslims cannot even agree among themselves on their arguments? here is a sample of two Muslims saying DIRECTLY opposite statements:

Pilgrim.1,

Truly many of these discussions are a waste of time. A long time ago on another forum I butted heads (ideologically, of course) with a rather pompous Muslim apologist who claimed to be a Bible scholar and expert.
They are full of such empty claims. grin

longman83:
Being unable to respond qualitatively to my rejoinders, he resorted to ad hominem tactics, repeatedly ridiculing my 'rudimentary knowledge', and eventually stormed off in a rage.
That's why I refuse to fall prey to that gimmick - Muslims are well known for that an have championed it as their first-aid when they have nothing tangible to offer in a discussion.

longman83:
Later I discovered, while reading some of Ahmed Deedat's booklets, that this guy simply plagiarised Deedat's work and presented them as evidence of his own intellectual superiority! Can you imagine grin?
I can well imagine! grin Even babs787 here has tried pulling that one with me several times and found out to his embarrassment that such gimmicks do not work in a public Forum - especially when he assumes that other discussants would not have known what he was up to.

ask yourselves one question, What will Jesus do?
Please tell us what Jesus would do.

It has become the norm today for people to make recommedations - and yet not follow them through. Christianity is not a matter of living in compromise - it brings home divine truth to the heart and challenges the addressee to make an informed response.

That is why these issues are being discussed in as a fair a manner as can be managed. It is not as simplistic a matter as saying that some are headstrong and will not change their minds on anything (I once made that assertion as a Muslim. . . but today, I thak God that I'm a Christian). . . nor is it just mere talk about "prayer, fasting, the word". If the Word is prayerfully enunciated and people have made up their minds to be deliberately blind to God's WORD, where does that leave us - in the middle road of continued compromise?

The Bible 'did not say much' about soul travelling because it is not a handbook for eckists. When you assume that the Bible 'did not say much', perhaps you have a few verses in mind that remotely say a few things about soul travelling. Could you share them with us? smiley

However, there are so many religions that are only after 'a fairly good life' and nothing more. If that is what you had assumed about the Bible, please spend some more time prayerfully seeking an understanding of its revelations, and you will come to see the huge difference there is.

Hi @ dragnet,

dragnet:
pilgrim1 . . . .and why is it that christians "enjoy" wearing d cr0sS . . . .
Not all Christians "enjoy" wearing the Cross; and there's nothing in the Bible against wearing symbols of the Cross as long as it does not translate into a religious rite of idolatry. Most Christians who wear symbols of the cross do so for a number of reasons - mostly to identify them as Christians, especially in an environment that is hostile to Christianity.

dragnet:
Thinking of what it stands 4. . .i.e they love sh0wing the "so-called" crucificati0n (which never happnd) but thats wht GOD (s.w.t) made the pagans believe. .as statd above by mukina2
I'm sorry to burst your bubble. The Bible clearly demonstrates the FACT of the Crucifixion in two ways:

(a) Biblical prophecies in the OT

(b) Biblical fuilfillment in the NT

If it never happened as is claimed in the Qur'an, what has 'Allah' said about the OT scriptures referring to the FACT in PROPHESY? Does 'Allah' give prophecies and hope that mankind never expects them to be fulfilled? What did 'Allah' make you believe about the same OT scriptures which he claimed he sent down and confirmed - particularly the Psalms of David (Sura 4 v 163 and 5 v 44)?!?

The tales in the Qur'an are merely Muhammad's denials of Biblical prophecies - and you cannot use Quraish denials to affirm that 'Allah' made the pagans believe anything! That was why I asked mukina2 those questions, and am still waiting for her answers.

Cheers.

@trumpeter,

trumpeter:
Some(particularly Muslims), out of sheer misconception of biblical revelation, have placed BABA (CHRIST) side by side with other Prophets including the Prophet of Islam.
Actually, it is not "out of sheer misconception" of Biblical revelation that Muslims have placed Christ side-by-side with Muhammad. The real issue surrounding such an adventure is simple: Muhammad is NOT in the Bible - and this huge embarrassment is causing Muslims worldwide to deliberately castigate the same Jesus Christ whom they hypocritically claim to 'love' and 'respect'. Since they cannot demonstrate that Muhammad's claims in the Qur'an are Biblically authentic, it should not surprise anyone why Muslims have turned round to deride the same Bible that they once delightfully quoted . . . until the bubble went burst! grin

Whenever it helps their duplicity, then they play the convenience game of quoting the Bible as reference to accredit Muhammad's false prophecies and career. When the truth is demonstrated that Muhammad is nowehere prophesied as a prophet among the Biblical prophets, it upsets the Muslim world so badly on just one point - it proves without question that Muhammad was a false prophet who claimed to have been "inspired" in precisely the same way AS God inspired the Biblical prophets (Qur'an 4 v 163)!

It does not really matter whether you take the time to share Biblical truth with Muslims here - they have made up their minds to be NOT interested at all, because Muhammad clearly was a false prophet by Biblical standards. That is the bitter truth they do not want to hear.

Lol. . . initially, I had wanted to not make comments or vehemently debate Catholics the first quarter of this year. But please allow me just this while.

We may not categorically say that Catholics are 'not anything close to Christians' - that would be an overstatement. There are many Catholics who do not tend to follow the doctrines espoused by the Vatican (and some of them I personally know and in contact by email have been such a challenge to my faith as a Christian - we should be thankful for that!).

On the other hand, there are tomes of evidence in Catholic archives that demonstrate clearly the FACT that Catholicism is predicated on MARIOLATRY (the worship of MARY), and not merely on the worship of 'saints'. In worse case scenarios, a few of the Popes have openly stated that Catholicism their worship is towards MARY much more than about Christ. But we cannot use the heresies of those few Popes as standard arguments for all Catholics today - since we know (or speaking for myself, I know) that a majority of Catholics who are aware of these things do NOT espouse such doctrines - even though they do not deny the FACT that those popes actually stated such!

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against
the wiles of the devil.

Spiritual warfare is a reality and part of the Christian experience. It is not an option for any Christian, because the enemy does not wait for any invitation before seeking to launch his missiles against those who have embraced the love of God in Jesus Christ.

Our weapons are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Cor. 10:4). When the Bible asks us to put on "the whole armour of God", two things come to mind:

~ God has indeed provided more than enough for us

~ It is our responsibility to claim the victory that Christ won for us.

Whatever form the enemy presents his wiles, we are made more than conquerors through Him that loved us (Romans 8:37).

@olabowale,

olabowale:
As to the Qur'an talking about Jesus being sinless or not, I can not quote you a verse and this is why I asked you to provide the Qur'anic verse. Indeed, all Prophets are sinless, if you look at it, because, if any sin, from them, he is forgiven by Allah, as the prophet supplicates his Creator for forgiveness. Infact, the reason they sin, if at all, is to to teach believers of the fact that God accepts the repentance of His creations. Jesus was not an exception and you need to bring out your verse or verses from the Qur'an, since you could not proof it from the Bible. By the way what sin did John the son of Zachariah commit? What sin did his father Zachariah commit? In Islam Jesus and John were in the same heaven, the second even as seen by Muhammad in his night journey to heavens.
I suspect the reason why olabowale would intone that he could not quote a verse in the Qur'an for Jesus being sinless is because he pretends to know his Qur'an, and failing to demonstrate what little he might know, he hopes that no one would check out his bloviates. grin

Dear olabowale was trying to quickly doodle us here by his mixed-up ideas. Here are the points he tried to establish:

~ he could not tell from the Qur'an that Jesus was sinless

~ he therefore asks Tayo-D to do his homework for him grin

~ he says that the prophets sin ('they sin') - Jesus was not an exception

~ he is persuaded that there is no Biblical proof for Jesus' sinlessness

The conclusion from olabowale's submission is that he is neither here nor there - trying to say to opposite things at the same time: that Jesus was not an exception among those who sinned; while on the other hand, he could not tell if Jesus actually sinned!

There are just two questions highlighted in olabowale's quote above:

#1. Does The Qur'an Teach that Jesus Was SINLESS or not?

#2. Does The Qur'an Teach that All Prophets Are SINLESS?

Please, dear olabowale, with the dramatic dribbling, could you offer simple answers to these two questions so we can then know exactly what games you're espousing here? grin

olabowale:
Just because you call it God inspired does not mean it is God inspired. You make the statement to justify your believing in it.
That is exactly what Muslims should understand about the Qur'an! grin Just because Muhammad claimed to have been inspired, it does not mean that he was actually inspired by God - and his denials of Biblical revelations precisely demonstrate the FACT that he was a false prophet. It does not matter whatever misgivings you may have against the Bible - that very Book demonstrates with simple tests that Muhammad was indeed a false prophet. QED.
Christianity Etc › Re: Pilgrim. 1: Is The Bible 100% Inspired Word Of God? by pilgrim1(f): 8:59am On Jan 05, 2008
I usually take my time not to rush responding to illiterate threads where the instigators assume a scholarship they obviously do not possess. It has become characteristic of Muslim propagandists to frantically demonstrate their low IQ and confusion of face with their vacillating inconsistencies whenever they post on the Forum.

All the Muslim confusion here is predicated on just one premise: Muhammad is NOT in the Bible - and the Muslim attempt to smuggle him into the Biblical scriptures has been thoroughly bleached and walloped! That is why the reader should not be surprised that the same Muslims who have tried to force Muhammad into the Bible are the very same ones who are now turning around to attack it.

WHY?

Because they know deep in their hearts that if Muhammad is NOT in the Bible, then the Qur'an is a huge FRAUD! Certainly, since we have established that FACT, the Qur'an is indeed a FRAUD cleverly woven together by the same Quraish 'prophet' who rooked the dessert Arabs when he accused them of being "the worst in unbelief and hypocrisy, and most fitted to be in ignorance" (Qur'an 9 v 97).

Muslims who have become increasing embarrassed by the exposé of not being able to find Muhammad in the Bible have betaken themselves to an adventure of shamelessly attacking the same Bible they once frantically quoted for Muhammad's career. Worse than this, it would only mean that whoever Allahs so-called "revelations" were a fallacy! For if there was any substance to the so-called Muhammad in the Bible episode, then Muslims would have easily found the verse(s) for that claim and saved themselves these huge embarrassments.

However, truth be told, there's no denying the FACT that not a single verse in the Bible prophesied Muhammad as a prophet! And the dread of that revelation alone is the reason why Muslims have turned round to attack the Bible that they onced quoted. . . thereby hugely controverting and contradicting themselves, aside from their new adventures of LYING for 'Allah'.

In my subsequent rejoinders, we shall examine a few of these controverted lies for 'Allah' that are being endlessly recycled.

Islam › Re: Why Do Muslims Face The East When Praying? by pilgrim1(f): 8:54am On Jan 05, 2008
The KAA'BA [الكعبة]

Let's take a few moments to see what MUSLIMS themselves have variously claimed about the Kaa'ba. We should understand that facing the Kaa'ba is not simply a matter of praying alone - it involves a whole lot of other issues like:

(a) burying the dead

(b) recitation of the Qur'an

(c) announcing the call of prayer

(d) the ritual slaughter of animals. . . etc.

It is pertinent to understand that these references are from Muslims themselves, rather than what others have thought about the subject (although there are a lot of scholarly works revealing the real gist of the Kaa'ba). At the end of the day, the contradictions and controversies between the various claims of its history are testimony to the FACT that Muslims many times have no clue what they argue, nor can they coherently verify the noise they make in those claims.

The Kaa'ba - built by ADAM?

Some Muslims have often assumed that the Kaa'ba was originally built by Adam, and they therefore trace its origin back to the history of the creation of man. A few examples here from the following Muslim sources and weblinks:
Tradition goes that the Kaaba was ordained by Allah to be built in the shape of the House in Heaven called Baitul Ma’amoor. Allah in his infinite Mercy ordained a similar place on earth and Prophet Adam was the first to build this place. The Bible, in the Chapter of Genesis describes its building when God ordained Abraham to erect a Shrine for worship when Abraham was ordered to go to the Southern desert with his wife Hagera and infant son Ismael. The Old Testament describes this building as the Shrine of God at several places, but the one built at Ma’amoor is very much similar to the one at Makka. There is no doubt that it was referring to the stone built house at Makka.

Source: (http://www.al-islam.org/kaaba14/1.htm) from the Muslim website for "Ahlul Bayt Digital Islamic Library Project" of Al-Islam.Org

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Quran commands the Muslims to face the sacred precincts in Makkah during prayer which is a fundamental tenet in slam. The legend of this purely Islamic development of a sacred stone structure dates back to the fall of Hadhrat Adam (alayhis salaam) from Paradise onto earth at Makkah. It has been reported by Al-tabari that Hadhrat Jibraeel (alayhis salaam) flapped his wings to uncover a foundation laid in the seventh fold of the earth. Angels paved this foundation with stones and Hazrat Adam went round this structure following the example of the Angels. Therefore it stands to reason that Allah Ta'ala contemplated and designated the Ka'aba before the creation of the earth. It is said that the Kaaba is a prototype of Baitul Mamoor, a house in the seventh Heaven situated immediately over the Kaaba.

The Kaaba with respect to the inhabited parts of the world is like the centre of a circle with respect to the circle itself. All regions face the Kaaba, surrounding it as a circle surrounds its centre; and each region faces a particular part of the Kaaba. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) adopted the Kaaba as a physical focus in prayer as well for other acts of worship such as burial of the dead, recitation of the Qur'an, announcing the call of prayer, the ritual slaughter of animals, etc. Thus, Muslims have been spiritually and physically oriented towards the Kaaba and the holy city of Makkah in their daily lives.

Source: (http://www.jannah.org/hajj/kaaba.html)
Let us understand that official Muslim websites concertedly base their convictions of the history of the Kaa'ba purely on 'tradition' and 'legend'. They have no authentic source for verifying their claims other than the tales that have been circulated for eons among Muslims who have swallowed them by rote and only tend to repeat the same the same thing every single time.

Second, the same 'tradition' and 'legend' postulate the tales that the Kaa'ba is a prototype of "Baitul Mamoor, a house in the seventh Heaven". As far as 'legends' go, there is nothing to authenticate this tale, especially since they do not have any coherent pointers to verifying the historicity of the Adam-connection with the Kaa'ba!

Third, the usual Islamic thing is to cheat gullible readers with some wayo so-called 'science' in Islam. In this case, as is highlighted above, most Muslims claim that the location of the Kaa'ba is the center of the earth where all geographical bearings derive their proximities! Suffice to say here that this is merely another claim by Islamic 'tradition' that has no string of evidence in science. It is merely a tale. grin

Fourth, whether it makes sense of not, this Islamic tales from unquatified 'legend' assumes that Adam was the first to build the Kaa'ba. It should be carefully noted that this is merely a claim by the majority of Muslims - but not every Muslim attributes or traces the history of the Kaa'ba to ADAM. Other Muslim sources trace its history far much later to ABRAHAM - as the following website indicates:

The Holy Qur'an makes it clear that Ibrahim (Abraham)
and his son Ishmael were the true founders of the Kaaba,
together building the holy shrine dedicated to the worship
of the one true God.

Source: (http://www.hajinformation.com/main/j1091.htm)

The very simple question before the Muslim here is this:

Between "tradition/legend" and the Qur'an,
which is to be trusted in the history of the Kaa'ba?

For those Muslims who claim (by 'tradition' and 'legend') that Adam was the first to build the Kaa'ba, they are asking us to jettison the Qur'an as an inferior source for the history of the Kaa'ba. On the other hand, those who claim that the Qur'an traces its history to Abraham and Ishmael as "the true founders" of the Kaa'ba, the 'legends' and 'traditions' are a mere LIE! grin

Question: which is which?

Later, we shall examine (from MUSLIM sources) the idols of the Kaa'ba and which one of them Muhammad retained that Muslims now bow down to.

Is it your dishonesty that made you posted same thing twice grin
Perhaps it is Muslim hypocrisy and dishonesty that make them post the same material in several threads. You should have been worried about your own hypocrisy in posting a question twice in the same thread to the same person before hyperventilating as usual here. See the links:

If you are doing the very same thing that you want to deride in others, then what's the complaining here all about? cheesy

Could you kindly show us who that 'brother' is?

@babs787,

Please stop this childish Islamic games. If you will deal with the OT verses on the crucifixion first, we can move on. It is simply because you find yourself at a crossroad that is why you are buying to dribble round the simple request I offered you.

@dafidixone

What about some verses present in some versions but omitted in some?
What about Khalifa's translation that omits two verses of the Qur'an?

When the Muslim has run out of ideas to cover up the fallacy of Muhammad's claims in the Qur'an, all we see are recycled questions ALL OVER AGAIN! This issue has been dealt with and thrashed once too many times. The poster ought not to be pretending this is something new, as the only thing feeding this Muslim propaganda is simply the FACT that Muhammad has been bleached out of the Bible. Period.

Ok, let us take it one at a time. He will have to learn arabic first. I want you to know that every muslim must know arabic to be able to pray and through that he will be able to pray in another country where he does not understand their language.
@babs787,

So, people must simply have to first learn Arabic in order to be able to PRAY to 'Allah'? And what if they mnever learn Arabic and do not wish to do so at all, but seek to pray to God in their own language?
