Crime › Re: How Not Keeping Beard (Clean Shave) Saved Me From Street Robbers In Mile 2 by pixypixs(m): 1:57pm On Oct 07, 2022 |
Anonymoususher: My people I greet una
I almost got robbed at mile 2 bridge on Sunday.
My fiancee came to spend the weekend with me so on Sunday we decided to go out and have some fun. Our plan na say from the eatry she go from there dey go house but she forgot her office key at my place so instead of going home we decided to go back to my place first to pick the keys because she needed it the next day at work.
Na so we take go back house ooo before we know 8pm Don clock. Babe didn't want to sleep over, I couldnt drive because mile 2 is always blocked cos of traffic. Most uber drivers don't even like going there so we had to enter danfo.
Bus dropped us at mile 2 Festac side and we needed to walk up a little so she could get a bus or bike heading towards Wilmer.
It was already 9pm and some guys started approaching us. I saw them and quickly changed my steps, my babe didn't know what was happening, I just asked her to give me her phones. She gave them to me, I placed the big one inside my pocket.
The guys approached n surrounded us and were like bring your phone, my babe was scared but I refused to stop walking.
One raised hands and wanted to hit me while another one wanted to drag my girl's bag.
I just said, if them born una well make una hand touch me, be like una want make this Mile 2 and lagos hot for una. Una wan touch soldier, una die well.
Immediately I pretended like I was making call "I said Nasiru, stand at alert, mile 2 on top bridge second lane"
After pretending to make the calls, I stretched the phone towards them and said if they have mind they should take the phone from me... All these while I was walking and talking.
The guys just said awuuaahhh, no vex abeg just find us something. I said una dey mad, instead of to beg for money una wan use force or threaten, I no dey give una again. One by one they just left the scene.
My babe was already cold, we quietly crossed to the other busy lane, entered a bus and started laughing.
What happened was surprising. I didn't know the guts that came to me.
Normal, I don't keep beards (clean shave) and the way I walk most people mistake me for a military guy cos of my height and mode of walking. Coincidentally I was putting on a black top with a black face cap. So seeing a young guy with clean shave they just felt I was a military guy and decided to avoid me.
Thank God for protection sha Hardened robbers will kill you just at the mention of being a force |

Romance › Re: My Fiancee's Unstable Look Is Threatening Our Relationship. Please Advice Me by pixypixs(m): 10:41am On Oct 07, 2021 |
MaXiK: Good day Nairalanders!!
Please I need your advice. My current girlfriend has all the good characters that perfectly defines a wife material plus she's a scholar and also a virgin (not particularly concerned about this anyway but to evince how disciplined she is) but sometimes she will look attractive to me and other times she will appear unattractive and I won't feel attracted to her at all. To clarify things, this changes has nothing to do with her dress sense neither my beholding senses but real changes in her facial appearance and allurement.
To be frank and sincere, she is just greatly above average in attractiveness but she's not stable in her look, she falls far below average occasionally. Also we're both dark in complexion and I will prefer my children to be lighter than I am, if not fair.
I have been trying to look beyond her look by focusing on other quality attributes she possess but the issue about her irregular look keep on fluctuating my feelings for her.
The crux of it is that I'm in my early thirties I need serious relationship; someone to build future with and finally get married to but here I am with someone that meet up with more than seventy percent of my requirements in my ideal wife but with unstable look that is threatening my feelings for her.
I am concerned about this because of some issues we consider trivial are still crashing marriages these days....
My questions:
How important is look in marriage? Is it me that is making issue out of trivial matters because this lady is receiving a lot of relationship advances from people far better than I am and she's turning them down to maintain her commitment to our relationship? Is there any possibility of stability in her look in the future considering that she's still in school?
Your genuine, mature and constructive advice is highly needed.
I will appreciate ones from those who have experienced what I'm currently going through. Brother I seriously understand your concern and I will be brutally honest with you, those concerns are "concernworthy" Nevertheless, the truth is that you can't have it all, irrespective of what changes her 'looks' . I got married 7 years ago,but I have been in relationship with my wife since 2007, normally I would like to be with a tall and dark skinned lady, but I ended up marrying a lady that is close to bn called short and very light skinned.I can assure you that she's always a soccur even when the going gets though.I am happy my children are happy as well,we all do. There are so many things you need to consider other than looks, marry a wife, a friend and a mother.I can assure you that all those physical features would eventually change with time but all others might not change considering you're helped by God and your homework is done diligently. If you've scored her %70 like someone rightly commented, you've probably hit a goldmine.Your children does not need Agbani Darego, they need a mummy, and you need a nest after the days job has ended. Once again, you can't have it all,it is left to you to choose other attributes you're willing to give up to have a lady with a "permanent beautiful face" if there will be any. |

Family › Re: Is Intelligence Inherited In A Family? by pixypixs(m): 1:05pm On Sep 30, 2019 |
There are more genes of intelligence on the X chromosome than on the Y and this is significant for male children. Intelligence just like any other trait is inherited from the parents. The trait here could actually be the ability to acquire intelligence because environmental factors contribute immensely to intelligence, depends on how you may want to define intelligence.
For instance, if an unintelligent male (XY) crosses a genius female (XX), with each 'donating' one chromosome to their offspring and they have a boy (XY) and a girl (XX). For the boy child (XY), it is certain that the X chromosome is from the mother so he will have more genes of intelligence from the mother. Note, that there are also genes of intelligence on the Y chromosome only significantly lesser than that of the X.
For the girl child (XX), both X chromosomes come from each parent, so she will have theoretically 50:50 share of genes of intelligence from each parent. If she turns out intelligent, it is the mother's X working, if she turns out unintelligent it's the father's full X working, if she's average a hybrid...but the boy would be smarter than his sister in theory.
To test this, look at a family in which the girl child is way smarter than the boy child -with the assumption that they had identical exposure, experiences and desire to learn- You will find that the father is likely to be the more intelligent parent, although even hypothetically, you cannot be close to 70% certainty. But if the boy is way more intelligent than his sister, it is certain that the boy is intelligent because of his mother. The latter is more likely to be observed in real life.
To cut the long story short, If you are an intelligent man don't marry an unintelligent woman for the sake of your unborn male children because they will reason like their mother . The girls will be fine. Also, for a woman that is intelligent, you can sleep rest assured that your children will get equal share of your genes of intelligence even if you decide to marry an ode . If all the children turn out to be unintelligent, don't worry, it's the father's doing . Unintelligent women in contrast, have it real bad compared with unintelligent men for the sake of their children's intelligence.
**Disclaimer: There is a lot of scientific truth here and also a number of assumptions, but it's not this straightforward. The scenarios and suggestions are unverified and solely based on my analysis. Follow or teach at your own risk. Despite all the humour,it is easy to know that you're learned! |
