To be fair though, in most cases, the question is usually innocent.

I think there are more appropriate expressions you can use e.g 'Did you sleep well?' 'Hope you had a good night rest'.

Other posters and followers of the thread are unable to chip in just because a group of people have decided to take the conversation to a different direction, one which the majority are either not interested in or comfortable with. So the rest of us all just keep quiet, wondering when the discussion will end so we can go on as usual.

No group of persons should dictate the flow of conversation and interactions on any thread.
