Palace and Newcastle are the only teams to have played city well this season.
Newcastle bawo? The same Newcastle that parked the bus for pretty much the whole game and only tried to sneak in an equalizer in the last few minutes of the game. City hit the bar like 3 times in that game and the possession count was unreal, something like 80-20. So Abeg comot Newcastle for that list. Soton and Everton both did better against City. Palace are trying sha but we both know how this will end.

What is this FPL?
Do they pay money?

please explain for me
A good number of your fellow Chelsea fans play this game so I'm a bit surprised you are not familiar with the game. FPL is the official fantasy football game for the Premier league. You get a budget of 100 million pounds to build a team of 15 players and you earn points based on the real life performances of these players, i.e goals, assists, clean sheets, YCs and RCs.

And no, they don't pay money grin but there are prizes up for grabs on a weekly and monthly basis. Then there is the big one at the end of the season. It's free, by the way. There are also special money leagues where you pay a certain amount to compete for more money.

You can check out https://fantasy.premierleague.com if you are interested in playing.

Airmark, you now have my full permission to tear down Morata. Dude just ruined my FPL this week. 5 goals and not even one assist from the fraud. And I was this close to captaining Willian who loves playing against Stoke.

Abeg just send me the necessary paperwork, I'm officially joining the Anti-Morata movement.

did chelsea have any competitor for the title last season, things like this happen all the time although man city this season are on steriods, but dont count of them or chelsea oe united to completely dominate like in italy, spain, france, etc thats why the epl is a bit different,of course it is overhype,we have more fans,so more talkative
Chelsea did encounter a few bumps on their way to winning the title last season. There were losses to Liverpool and Arsenal . Conte had to come up with something special to turn things around. In City's case, it's just been a stroll in the park, save for a few nervy games. They've been fantastic but the other top sides have failed to push them all the way. None of them even managed to pick up a point in their matches against City.

United actually dominated under Ferguson. 3 league titles in a row. 5 in his last 7 years in charge. If this season is anything to go by, Pep might be creating his own dynasty very soon.

Finally, thank you for agreeing the league is a bit overhyped grin.

Is there any pundit, by mistake or even as a joke rated Arsenal a title contender.

See stupid logic some people are throwing around eh.

Top 6 statement is for teams fighting for top 4 this past 2 seasons shocked, the way this new Dayo's acc is turning the bgegiri and amala is purely classic
Maybe you need to look beyond your beef or hatred for the club. I repeat, Arsenal are contenders. Do you want to me to post links where several top managers including Mourinho claimed there are 6 teams challenging for the title. Google is your friend.

And by the way, i'm not Dayo or Raum-whatever. You might not want to make that mistake again.

are you a barca fan?
Nah. I support Bayern Munich. I guess most Barça fans on this forum have strong anti-EPL views. Not necessarily hating on the league, but I think it's a bit over hyped. It's interesting seeing how things have turned out this season.

When last did arsenal even put up any reasonable challenge for the title? When last did they win it? How much was the tangible amount spent that made you to mention them?
Arsenal have consistently being among the top sides in the league so why should they not be labelled as 'contenders'? or is this not the same league where we keep hearing how any of the top 6 teams are good enough to win the title. At the start of every season, when pundits and bookmakers draw up a list of favorites for the title, you hardly see them leave out Arsenal. Whether they can actually win the league is another matter but Arsenal are definitely contenders or if you like pretenders. They might not have won the league in recent years but you can't totally rule them out.

how 75m Wey Liverpool just agree to spend on player Wey never even be Liverpool player yet affect 15 point gap, I honestly don't understand
I was only trying to point out the outrageous spending by these teams. Chelsea and Arsenal both broke their transfer records during the summer. Man Utd bought Lukaku for 75 million pounds. Despite all the money spent, these teams are struggling to mount a decent title challenge. It's really embarassing seeing City run away with the league in this manner. So much for "the best league in the world".
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by pkasso(m): 11:36pm On Dec 28, 2017
Can anyone remind me how competitive the EPL is said to be, again? City are 15pts clear at the top and we are only halfway through the season. The points difference between 1st and 2nd is the biggest in all of the major European leagues. Even the Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga have lesser gaps. All in a season where most teams splashed the cash and smashed transfer records at will. Liverpool just bought a CB for 75mil. You would expect more, but instead all we are witnessing is a one-horse race. The league might as well be over by March.

I repeat, Harry Kane is the best striker in the world. If it wasn't for the injury lay off of five weeks, he would have scored more.

Honestly it was a painful something
That's what you get for putting all your eggs in one basket. Clean sheets are just too fragile. Imagine spending the better part of a game hoping a player on your team earns a clean sheet and then towards the end of the game his team concedes. I for one have learned to ignore that part of the game. If it happens, fine. Last week alone, I lost CS points totalling 16 pts due to Mee and Kolasinac missing 2 consecutive games where the teams kept CS. In both cases the players that came off the bench in their place ended up with 0. That's like 24pts pre-bonus. You don't want to know how frustrating that was.

So I've got two players in the Everton-Swansea game currently going on. Fabianski and Calvert-Lewin. One is a GK, the other is a striker, on opposing sides. The ultimate FPL selection dilemma. I can't have a clean sheet and a goal from both players as one obviously cancels out the other and in a worst case scenario i could still end up with nothing from both players. Tough, right?

But then, Fabianski saves a PK from Rooney and Calvert-Lewin tucks home the rebound . Talk about eating your cake and having it grin. I just crossed one task off my FPl achievement list tonight grin.

This has to be the worst GW in a very long time. These managers are conspiring to ruin our FPL season. Took out Mahrez for a -4 just to be able to afford Hazard and now Conte decides there's no better time to bench him. Salah on the bench also. Man's struggling to put out a complete 11. 50pts would be a miracle this week.

Well, scrappy game yesterday. Jupp clearly underrated Anderletch with the lineup he threw out. Nobody stood out, well except for Ulreich. Guy has been very impressive the past few weeks. He was the only reason we won the game. Those clangers are now a distant memory. PSG are not messing around and are leading favourites for this year's CL. If we beat them, great but I'm not harboring any expectations for that game. I definitely don't see us beating them 4-nil.

Thiago out, Robben out. The injuries just keep on piling. Thiago's injury opens up a spot in midfield. I personally would like to see Rudy get more minutes. With all the chaotic, rumble and tumble play of Vidal and Tolisso, I think we could use his calming influence . He doesn't take too much risks and is intelligent enough to control proceedings in the middle of the park.

These Warriors fans though. They sha won't take their L in peace grin. My word, that was one hell of a show from the boys. Everyone came to the party. No blown leads. If only we could play like this every night. Russ was clearly fired up for this one. I felt a bit sorry for KD though, even with everything the dude still has a place in my heart. The fans have every right to boo though, and it's going to take time before that wound heals.

I'm fed up, man. I didn't even bother staying up for the Pelicans game as i was still pissed off about the Spurs disaster and good thing i did. Another game, same old failings. Donovan is fvcking inept. Melo is not cut out for that PF role. Adams is back but not at his best. Russ and his triple-doubles won't change anything for me. I've already accepted our L against the Warriors. Make dem just make the playoffs.
