And Kanu a saint abi.
Actually yes.

A young man who can use only speech, no army , no guns, no bombs, no suicide bombers, to rattle a system, forcing everyone to reflection, nudging everyone into discussing hitherto tabooed word " Restructuring " , is a born leader, a bona fide Hero, not only for the entire Southeast or Igbos, for all of Nigeria.

That Nnamdi Kanu, A young man commanding NO ARMY, has fired NO Single Shot, thrown No BOMBS, just delivering speeches and marching with a bunch of other angry youths( let me add, his constitutionally guaranteed rights) , is drawing heavy handed armed response from the State is sure proof that he is doing something right, something sooooo overdue.

Obviously, the leeches of this nation are responding in the way they are expected to respond.
But , they are on the wrong side of history, as time would inevitably prove.

ClitRaider:
Are you not aware that in 1979, Igbo has only two states, Anambra and Imo whereas Yoruba has four states.
Today Igbo has five states and Yoruba has six states.

Are you not aware that Igbo has six senators in 1979 whereas Yoruba has twelve senators. Today they have fifteen senators whereas we have eighteen senators. Calculate the percentage increase. Let us ask, who has been marginalized?

They will come to us that those Hausas are bad they are not educated, they are Muslims, they want to Islamise Nigeria, they are this and that yet they will go behind to form an alliance with them.
Strategically they have been reducing our economic potential because they have been able to increase their slots in geometric progression and ours is in arithmetic progression. More slots in Federal appointments whereas ours have continued to reduce.

Are you aware that the land mass that makes up the five Eastern states is not up to old Oyo state yet they have been able to create five states out of it.

The first group of people that started trading in spare parts are Yoruba particularly our people from Ijebu-Ode but they have been muscled out of the business.

The idea of Geo-political Zone was mooted by Ojukwu to favour the Igbo. Now through Jonathan conference they said they are being marginalized because they are the only Geo-political zone with five states. Can you imagine that? From two states. That is what I called strategic thinking. Unfortunately, Yorubas that went to that conference agreed with them foolishly particularly afenifere in the likes of Yinka Odumakin, Sen. Adefuye. What a tragedy. Let's ask them, what did Yorubas that attended the conference brought home? The answer is nothing.

The issue of Biafra being championed by Kanu is not by accident, it is a grand design to negotiate for more. Now it is coming out, South East Development commission. Why don't we ask, to be funded by who? If it is agreed they will continue to reduce our economic potential in the Nigerian state.

But, come to think of it why don't you let Biafra be. They are adding no value to us and I can bet you that nobody will miss them. Remember that they fired the first shot that started Nigerian civil war. Killing Tafawa Balewa, Ahmadu Bello and some notable Yorubas.
Of recent, Chinue Achebe wrote a book "There was a Country". Accusing Awolowo of committing Progrom. What a tragic write up. The question to ask is who started the war? Can I continue to feed my enemy to have more strength to battle me.

Igbo would never change. Domination is in their blood and they can only be satisfied if they have what belongs to you and you have not

The first question that came to my mind was whether this was a private or government venture.

With $150m anyone can build 10 or more of what I am seeing in picture.
If that project truly cost $150m, then as a commercial enterprise, it is dead on arrival.
I am guessing that is a govt guaranteed foreign loan , ADB or world Bank financed venture that is guaranteed to go under in a few years, take on more debt , and at the end of day, pushed into Nigeria's foreign loan portfolio as usual.

Very simple.
How does the word " Hatred " come into the picture ?.
In your zombie universe, I guess criticizing an elected public servant, the most important one in this case, is akin to expressing hatred ?

Let me say something to you and all other idiots like you.

To whom much is given, much is also expected.
The presidency of Nigeria is not a family inheritance.
It is a reposed Trust.

The president is a servant of the people on Loaned time.
He owes us accountability, including on his health and ability to perform his functions.

As of today, the people of Nigeria do not know the exact health status of the president.
We don't know what ails him, the prognosis for recovery and fitness for the rigors of his office , and most importantly, how much of our scarce foreign currency reserves is being used and has been depleted thus far to treat the president.
Unconfirmed rumours has it at around $30m so far.
That is an aberration in modern statecraft and democracy.
This can only happen in a society and leadership where integrity has ZERO value.

Rather, on his return from his very secretive and very expensive 107days medical vacation abroad, the gratitude Nigerians got from their president on his first taped broadcast came in the form of threats to his critics and sections of the country.

Obviously , Buhari's second missionless journey into our national politics has shown itself to be another Great Tragedy of Misplaced Trust.
Now, if you tell me that all the above is equal to hatred, then I can be of no help to low IQ individuals.

tommynico:
It's really disheartening to read online the bitter and hateful words being used by both parties. Majority of us ( Yoruba and igbo) have friends from the mentioned tribes, why can't we just see ourselves thesame way we see our individual friends. I know this country can be tiresome and at times confusing due to the decisions and desires of some powerful few but I do believe we can still rise above this negative rivalry and instead compliment ourselves and become better. History as well has given us reasons to be at odds but we have come a long way, even up to the point of intra tribal marriages which have only bonded us together as a sign of prosperity and goodness. It helps no one to hate but it is much more refreshing to the soul to live happily with one another because hatred will only make see the other from the fault side and not the possible goodness in them. Please my dear brothers and sisters from both sides of this widening gulf, we should stop it all before it consume us all, Let those who want to be apart do so with respect to the other group and not with hatred.......

Oga lalastical.....help us preach the gospel please.
Outside of national politics, the Igbos and Yorubas live side by side, share friendships, commerce, intermarry, etc.
Just like brothers and sisters in a family, there are mutual suspicions, but no serious malice.

In federal politics, this is where the daggers come out.
And the reason is not far fetched.
The inverted federal system we run in Nigeria keeps the major tribes, especially the progressive elements, permanently scrambling for crumbs at the center.
Each one sees the otheras a long term threat.
Though each has a slightly different reason for being suspicious of the other, the underlying causes are the same.

We will never be the one to initiate war or using warfare or violence of any kind to pursue our agenda. It is not worth it.
My dear friend, please read and reread your post again. Pls.

This is the problem I have with your type.
You are either less than 15 yrs old or simply a liar.

And this is the main reason your masters deliberately refrain from teaching you basic Nigerian history in schools.

If case you are more than 15 yrs old, kindly point to us any instance in the history of Nigeria where Igbos have used or resorted to violence to achieve anything ?
Was it not the Violence and confusion in the West that laid the ground for the 1966 military coup in Nigeria, and the subsequent events that led to the Civil war ?
Was it not the political Violence in West 1983, and the agitation for fall of the Shagari government by non other than Awolowo and his UPN that gave the Buhari the impetus to overthrow the democratic government of Shagari ?
Was it not Awolowo that was the first Nigerian jailed for Treason against his nation, simply because he could not stand being outside of power ?

How many political riots and mass killings have you ever heard or read about in Igboland ?
How many genocides of other tribes or communities has been committed in Igboland since the amalgamation of Nigeria ?

When have the Igbos ever declared war on anyone , group or ethnic region ?

And you have the idiocy, the foul lying mouth , to refer to Igbos as a violent people ? grin undecided

Now, considering and inspite of deliberate federal neglect since 1970, aside from Lagos, the former Capital and commercial hub of Nigeria, there is no Southwest State that can boast of higher standard of living index or indices than any SouthEast state. Ogun and Oyo states benefit from the proximity to Lagos. The rest are basket cases, just like many other states in Nigeria.
