Igbo and Igboland are a particular ethnic people in a particular region of a country called Nigeria.
Rwanda, on the other hand, is a Country of many ethnic peoples.

Whereas the entire country of Rwanda was engulfed in Civil war, the small region of Igboland was attached by all sides of the Nigerian state for 3 solid years. Lives, infrastructure and economy in Igboland were destroyed in that particular region only, and not in any other parts.

The point of the Op is that despite such great disadvantage, and with NOOOOO federal reconstruction plans, the Igbo people ,have over the years, regained their prominence, and even surpassed all other regions not affected by the war in the areas of commerce, business enterprise, middle class penetration, home ownership, and in fact, every index of well being and progress.

Now, trying to downplay the magnificence of such a feat by comparing it to Rwanda, a country that used her STATE RESOURCES for national reconstruction, smacks of Bad Belle, Sour Grapes.

‘No dialogue with separatists’

Security agents have identified the Nigerian suspected to be operating the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Paris, France, it was learnt at the weekend.

The government last week said money was being raised from some Nigerians in the diaspora to fund IPOB.

Funds were also raised from events, including a football tournament organised in Senegal, for the banned organisation.



Funds raised from the diaspora Nigerians’ donation and other sources are remitted to an account in Paris from where it is disbursed for the organisation’s activities.

The account holder was not named at the weekend.

A source said: “Security agencies are still conducting more checks before releasing the details on the fellow running the Paris, France account on behalf of IPOB and its leader.

“When the necessary investigation is completed, the findings will be presented to the French government for appropriate action in line with the laws in France.

“These agencies will also trace other accounts in some jurisdictions where funds were remitted into the Paris account.”

The proscription of IPOB has been sealed with the Federal Government’s gazette of its ban.



This puts to rest speculations of a reversal of the decision as a result of a political solution.

With the gazetting of the proscription, the group ceases to exist by the nation’s law and the government might have ruled out dialogue with Kanu.

A top government source said: “The proscription order was gazetted by the Federal Government on Thursday. So, there is no going back on our position that the organisation remains illegal.

“Whether IPOB is registered abroad or anywhere is immaterial. The most important thing we have achieved is that the terrorist group can no longer operate in this country.

“The gazette is the climax of the presidential proclamation and the decision of the court on it.

“Any Nigerian or group associating with IPOB is doing so at a greater risk.”

Asked if the Federal Government would dialogue or negotiate with the IPOB leader, the source said: “No government will relate with a terrorist organisation. Certainly, any talk of dialogue is remote.”

Following an ex-parte motion by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of JusticeAbubakar Malami (SAN), Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court Justice Abdul Kafarati, last week granted the proscription request.

He restrained “any person or group of persons from participating in any of the group’s activities”.

He ordered the AGF to ensure the publication of the IPOB proscription order in the official gazette and in two national dailies.

He ruled: “That an order, declaring the activities of the respondent – Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) – in any part of Nigeria especially in the South-East and South-South regions of Nigeria amount to acts of terrorism and illegality, is granted.

This matter has gone beyond Nnamdi kanu and IPOB. Ipob was a catalyst to the struggle we all had in mind but refused to speak nor act.

It's not about dialogue with Nnamdi kanu or IPOB, It's about reconfiguration of the Nigerian system for justice, equality, productivity, growth and progress which the present system doesn't support.

Truth be told, wrong or right, Nnamdi kanu and his group emboldened everyone to demand for what is right without fear as was the case.

Call them terrorists, call them names, the question begging for answer won't automatically erase from the peoples mind.

Once upon a time, i was made to see Yoruba people as my main enemy in this, country but not anymore.
Yes we can brag about our commercial exploits, education, talents, wealth, personalities but we lack unity.

I am a confirm onye igbo, born and brought up in the north, i am typing this because of the IPOB crisis here in the east. It's hard for me to admit but the truth must be told. I asked myself yesterday night;

Is there love among ourselves?
After analysing all these, i come to conclusion that biafra is the worst that will happen to an igbo man, biafra will be a place where hatred is the order of the day, we are always the ones playing the victim card, we call Yoruba people all sorts of derogatory names, we blame everyone one in this country except ourselves. It was a Yoruba family that welcomed and gave me shelter in GBOKO BENUE STATE the year i was posted there for my jamb exam (you can hardly see an igbo man do this for his brother, let alone a stranger) my best secondary school teacher is a Yoruba man, we lack hospitality and love among ourselves.
I didn't know about this until i left north for east, an igbo man will rather sell his brother for a plate of porridge out of greed
We call Hausa this and that yes i don't even like them (the truth must be told), their religious and ethnic intolerance is something else, but we are not better either, we have made our land less convenient for our people that's why you see igbos investing outside igbo land. You will buy land in igboland and all the kinsmen in that community will try to feast on your pocket.
Yes we have most of the most corrupt politicians in this country. Those bastar.ds we call our leaders are the ones we supposed to hold accountable, Nigeria is not our problem, Yoruba people are the only people we can team up with, they are the only one we can ally with.
I use to ask myself why most of my trusted friends are not igbos, it's not a coincidence. It is from experience.
In 2015 i relocated from the north to the east, up till now I'm still regretting my decision, i will rather die elsewhere than to be consumed by hatred in igbo land. My maternal grandfather who is supposed to welcome me home, despite all the tenants that are paying him, could not let me stay in one of his rooms. My grandfather!!
My advice to my fellow igbos is that we should eliminate hatred in our lives, only then we can come together and think of the way forward.

A reminder that sedition as a crime first appeared in the Elizabethan era, in the eras of absolute monarchy, where monarchs enjoyed the divine right over life and death, as obviously a means to maintain their monopoly of power and checkmate public dissent.

Now, in the modern era, sedition is a favorite tool amongst the world's most brutal tyrants and dictators.
We hardly ever hear the words sedition in a modern democratic state.

Hmm. I'm not a biafran but I must say that the Nigerian govt has put every foot wrong as far as the issue of biafra is concerned. The government is pushing its citizens into a state where sooner or later, everything would turn upside down and it would become a free for all fight. Carelessness in handling Boko Haram, led to What we have today. That same carelessness would sooner or later create another problem with ipobs and should this people decide to eventually take up arms against the state, I wouldn't blame them. The current Nigerian leadership is as useless as it can get and that uselessness obviously has trickled down to the irresponsible security operatives the country parades. It's embarrassing that in a democratic setting, we're experiencing this sort of nonsense. The worst military government in Nigeria, is way better than this buhari's useless government by miles. What generation do we have in Nigeria where angry agitation against the government or system , an erstwhile very positive civic responsibility, is now scorned upon by the very people whose lives are most likely to be positively affected by the positive outcome of the struggle ?

Ask people in any advanced democratic nation.
The government must always fear the wrath of the people they people that they govern.
