menbewisetoday:Rashes aren't a sign of HIV. You can only confirm if you test. To your second question, definitely yes. Even the HIV positive woman who carries the child for 9 month can give birth to a negative baby as long as she takes all the precautions. |
Saviour77:It's preferably taken in the morning because it's been known to disturb sleep. Other than that there's no other problem You can actually try taking at night for a few days and observe. If it doesn't affect you, then continue. |
nwaobitex: ![]() @bold, and how did yu do that? |
ifyalways:I see. Thanks |
Hello everyone, Does anyone know if one can park ones car overnight at the airport (Nnamdi Azikiwe Int'l) and the possible charges. Thanks |
sholatech:okay. ill give it a try. thanks |
Hi Guys, Pls I'll like to how one can make transfer to a third party without revealing my details. Pls its urgent. I tried quickteller, but though it doesn't display the senders name, it does show the email adress which i dont want. Is there any totally anonymous means of online transfer? Thanks in advance. |
Peeps are confusing things here. Yes, the burden may be high when one considers the total number of those expected to be infected, which is put at about 3 million. ' However, as a percentage of our population, we are just about 3.0% and such are not even among the first top ten. Regarding the CNN article, they probably used our official HCT testing numbers which is about 8 million as of 2015 according to NACA. When this is considered with our base population of about 170 million that gives just about 5% testing coverage, so they are actually quite conservative in their estimate |
candlewax:Wrong. You confuse prevalence with absolute numbers. In terms of prevalence, there are many countries ahead of us. |
This Mr Nweke sef. Development is beyond road and Las Vegas lights, abeg. HE should also consider the health sector |
EntMirror:shocking display of ignorance. . . And to believe people actually believe this pack of falsehood judging from the number of likes. @ALL, PLEASE!! To all reading this, all posted above is totally FALSE. While the ARVs given may have occasional side effects, some of which maybe very seriosu, in the overwhelming number of cases, the medication have proven to be very useful in preventing the development of AIDS and improving the quality of life. Be guided. |
With mastarcard (GTB), the card is rejected, but the the diamond bank card, I can enter the card detials but when a purchase is made, it says "transaction could not been completed". Which other bank would you recommend? |
HIV has always been free, at least in government hospitals. So nothing really new here. What I believe the paper was referring to is the fact that positive patients can now start treatment irrespective of CD4 count and certain high risk negative persons can take ARVs to prevent them getting infected. |
Hi Guys, How do you people buy stuff from ggogleplay? I was using MasterCard before it was disallowed. someone suggested dollar card, and i used that of my diamond bank but did not go through. I have an urgent purchase to make. any feedback be appreciated. thanks |
dokiOloye:Thank you sir. I made the comment in a previous thread on this issue. That UDensi rounabout and Govt, is becoming almost laughable. Floodlights, waterfountain, discolights, etc, etc, all FOR WHAT IS he trying to build LAs Vegas?? For such a poor state with so many competing priorities?? (BTW I heard some crazy story behind the Udensi roundabout. . . but lets not go there!) ![]() Yes, we all know he's doing an fantastic job in repairing roads and building bridges, and, to be fair, even outside the AI (Afikpo road, Ugwulangu-Okposi, Effium road, Oshiri, etc, are all being renovated). And to his credit, salaries are not being owed. However there are other areas that need desperate attention. Take the health sector for instance. My job takes me to primary and secondary health centers in the state, and they are in VERY poor shape. Almost everything is donor driven, which should not be. Interestingly, a state on emergency was declared in the health sector in the early days of his administration, and we were hoping for improvement, but toe years down the line, no tangible improvement. I know his apologists will say its one by one, but seriously, I do think, with all due respect, that he's not prioritizing properly. Ebonyi has one of the lowest allocation from FG and its IGR is equally low. We cant afford such luxuries as street lights when pregnant women can't receive proper natal care in a so-called general hospital. |
Come Umahi, I agree you doing a wonderful job, but I think its time you focus on other aspects besides roads, bridges and street lights. Take Udensi roundabout, what for goodness sake is he trying to do there?? High power floodlights, water fountain, interlocking tiles, etc. Total waste of scarce funds in my opinion. How about he focus on the HEALTH SECTOR for INSTANCE. It is IN A SORRY STATE!!! ![]() |
FALSE!! FALSE!!!! FALSE!!!!!!!!! Pls everyone should disregard OP's post. IT is largely false. by the way, has tribune suddenly become one those jobless bloggers? how can such a poorly researched, shitty article be found on their platform? surely they should have a health editor who would have gone through?? Well, for the sake of the less informed: Firstly, THERE's NO SUCH 'list of BANNED ANTIMALARIAL by EU'. This is simple common sense. why should EU be so interested in a disease that affects less than 1% of their population?? Itz like saying AU bans drug used for cystic fibrosis. And just for the records, EU CANNOT impose such a ban. The only antimalarial I'm aware of a ban in the UK (not EU) is mefloquine, due to its alleged association with anxiety and neuropsychiatric conditions. Secondly, It IS true that some of those drugs are being discouraged by WHO, but its due to their widespread use as artesunate monotherapies, which contribute to growing resistance. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH KIDNEY FAILURE PLSSSS!!!!! http://www.who.int/malaria/areas/treatment/withdrawal_of_oral_artemisinin_based_monotherapies/en/ Its instructive to note that aretsunate is a major component of the ACTs currently approved for malaria treatment. eg coartem, lumaterm, etc. If indeed it were linked to kidney failure, I'm sure we'll all be dead by now. Halfan though effective is discouraged due to its untoward effect on the heart. Lastly, there's no 'panic in medical forum', yes, I know that. Just to reiterate, those drugs listed on OP's post are indeed not encouraged, but its due to risks of increasing resistance due to monotherapy, in the case of aretesunate, or due to heart issues (halfan). Pls nothing like kidney failure here. thanks |
Totally false and rubbish article. Close to 60% of positive persons will not experience those symptoms. |
SalamRushdie:hush! ![]() |
SalamRushdie:white lies. 45k for ARVs?? when the drug is given free of charge in over 2000 facilities across the country?? see ya lying mouth |
Henryfour:This is sooooo NOT true. In terms of roads, Umahi is arguable one of the best performing gov. I travel a lot, so I know. Moreover he hs commenced grading of Ugwulangu Okposi road. Dont forget his allocation is one of the smallest in the country. |
WOW! Going from the responses, Benue state clearly takes the unenviable crown |
FKO81:This is not Ebonyi state teaching hospital. Its federal teaching hosp Abakaliki I (FETHA I) formally FMC. The actual EBSUTH is the one located along the expressway, now known as FETHA II. |
OP, luvly pics. You should include pic of Udensi and govt house roundabout, especially at night. ITs truly magnificent. But Umahi should do something about the health sector ooooooo. Its in a very bad shape |
MarieSucre: MarieSucre:Abeg stop making noise. |
I did a google on the prof's name and come up with a number of publications. Quite a prolific guy, I must confess. However, his claims to have found a CURE for HIV is the problem I have. There is no indication whatsoever from his write up that his drug was able to TOTALLY WIPE OUT HIV FROM AN INFECTED PERSON, which is what a cure should do. What his drug alleges to do is to reduce the viral load in body - possibly to undetectable levels. NEWSFLASH: All other ARVs currently in circulation do exactly the same thing!! DUH! BUT THEY ARE NOT CONSIDERED CURES!!! Is there promise in this his new discovery? Quite possibly. He actually admitted the agent has been used as a drug delivery for other medicines for quite sometime but he is perhaps the first person to use it for HIV. But his method of disemination is quite unbecoming of someone with his experience |
FALSE NEWS!! |
what kind of shitty reporting is this? How did they come about that figure? Even if all those men are actually infected, how can they prove she's indeed the source? Even if we can believe she slept with all 500 men, and even if she's positive, it doesn't mean she infected all of them. A single act of sex, even unprotected, doesn't guarantee the transmission of the virus, especially when its vaginaal insertive (ie woman to man). For the lady to be that prolific in the distribution of the virus would mean she's either in the primary infection phase (ie she got infected just a few weeks before the sexcapades) or is in advance stage (3 or 4 AIDS) - both scenarios are quite unlikely. If I didnt know better I would assume it was an attempt to victimize the poor lady. The fact they had to mention she's from the southern part of the country is instructive. |

Abbey1987:Thats very good of them. that exactly the offical rate |

IS he trying to build LAs Vegas?? For such a poor state with so many competing priorities??
And just for the records, EU CANNOT impose such a ban.
