Geomac: You are only being economical with the truth. And what exactly is the positive news about a drug baron (US*), a certificate forger (Gani*), a master of perjury, a bastard (Bakare*), a thief (Nigerians*) and boko haram sympathizer (Nigerians*). What's there to cheer about in Tinubu the notorious? * - according to |
I wonder what will become of the plantain seller, if after this reconnaissance exercise, Fashola rolls out his bulldozers to stop the lowly seller from obstructing traffic, polluting the environment, and constituting nuisance. I sincerely hope she will not be sent 'back to her village!' This somehow reminds me of the 'okada' riders! ![]() |
Afam4eva: It seems buying roasted plantain or corn is one of the ideologies of ACN/APC. No wonder Rochas joined them cos i remember he set the pace for others to follow in this regard. It's actually the other way round. Rochas, of APGA once famously bought roasted corn by roadside long before the alliance was conceived. The alliance (axis of _) are the one copying from Rochas playbook. |
eggheaders: you can say that loud to the uba brothers and the drug baron that use money to buy the stool of aguleri. laughing in Japanese. And how many people revere these brothers amongst our folks? |
Most people from across the Niger don't hold thieves, fraudsters, and drug barons, certificate forgers, etc in high regards, especially if they continue to shamelessly press for acceptance in public sphere. |
Personally, I would like to see Rochas/Ribadu combo! Double R! Double Respect! |
slimghost: Am done giving you attention.Believe whatever you want to but when the time comes, we Igbos will talk to Rochas. Keep on deceiving yourself. My guy quit prancing around. It's a greater betrayal to hang Rochas to dry for foolish pride! We true Igbo will need no prompting to drop GEJ for Rochas, a better all round leader, when the time come. Blood is always thicker than water! |
9ja_I_hail: @Sincere9geria, In as much as i love your ways of analyzing issues but on this i beg to disagree with you. How can a sane man like you kick against the idea of Rochas becoming president, can you point out reasons why GEJ is better than Rochas? My brother, kudos for adding to your voice to this. I don't also like the way and manner Rochas treated APGA, but if he lands the APC Presidential ticket why should we begrudge him his price? I don't know why we should wait for 2019 for a president of SE extraction, when Rochas is available, willing, and able. I think those kicking against Rochas as President have ulterior motives. |
The Imo governor noted that on his arrival he went to Sabon Gari where many of his people live, ' but after going round and meeting with virtually everybody all of them denied that the story of killings of Igbo people were cooked for unknown reason, as such they are baseless and unfounded'.He was in Kano; and had meeting with many in Sabo Gari. Perhaps couldn't meet everyone personally, but he did make an attempt. Question is, how many other Igbo leaders did this at that time? He said already he had directed that all those that have started running away to stay behind as there was no basis for their leaving Kano, as the government of Kwankwaso is doing all it could to ensure the safety of all the non indigenes and the teeming people of the state. That's is right call for a leader. Even if he ask them to leave. They won't leave, at least not all of them. He said that Igbo's were assets not only to themselves to the nation wherever they go.Who would fault this well articulated thoughts? |
slimghost: On your first point, that's arrant nonsense. SO because we weren't the only ones killed there, our leaders should have allowed it to continue? What nonsense?. Rochas goofed big time on that and many igbos are yet to forget that.Describe it any how you like. Rochas is not responsible for the death of Igbos in the North. How many times have they been told to come home? Besides, what power does Rochas, or any SE governor has to stop the boko haram madness. You may think that he goofed, but most Igbos will remember him as the only SE Governor who actually care to check on Igbos in the North during that period. In anycase, what I still don't get is: Why we must support GEJ when Rochas is contesting as president? Is is that GEJ is a better all round person leader than Rochas? Or we should simply pass this chance and wait until 2015 for some 'messianic' Igbo leader? |
slimghost: In many ways. 1.How can a man run to Kano and plead with Igbos to stay back and be slaughtered just to impress his hausa brothers? Well meaning leaders like Obi and Uwazurike were sending buses to convey umuigbo back home and this clown was busy playing politics.1. Igbos were not the only one 'slaughtered' in Kano (indeed the North). At some point the attacks were randoms; we bear the brunt more obviously mainly because we are ubiquitous. Besides, Igbos who stay in the North opt to stay there, we can't force everyone to come home. 2. There is no way you can be certain of that. In any case, politics is two way thing. Either you are reached or you reach out. Much as I personally don't like APC, I am willing to give them a benefit of the doubt if the field a SE President. So should most Igbos. Rochas has always been passionate about serving, why should we be the one resisting him. I am ashamed at some of the comments here. |
slimghost: Not exactly Desola. Chime will thrash GEJ any day, anytime in the SE if presented by a big party, and so would Utomi. And which permutation will throw up Chime? You think PDP will give him the ticket? How about his health concern, you thingk Nigerians will overlook that? And then his politics, how many people know Chime outside the SE Zone? |
To well meaning Igbo, not given to subjecting themselves to the dictates of other ethnic groups. The options should be as clear as cloudless day. If the merger party produce Rochas as president, we should support him same way we supported GEJ; otherwise GEJ all the way. Igbo cannot continue to play second fiddle, especially where there are options. Rochas is passionate, and full of ideas. He is currently the best positioned politician from the SE Zone for the presidency. I understand the sentiment to choose GEJ over a born-to-rule, but why can't we support our own, Rochas, as President, even when by all accounts, he is an upgrade over the current occupant of Aso Rock? |
Abagworo: I've said it times without number that were Ojukwu to be from Imo, Anambrians would have done worse than Rivers State. It is as clear as day.My guy, keep the Anambra sentiment out of the the discourse. You can discuss Rochas on his merit or otherwise. There is no point fanning the amber of intra division over this. |
slimghost: Not while his IGBONESS is still in question. In which way is his Igboness in doubt? |
Igbo here should stop slating Okorocha. I think he has and edge over GEJ in terms of vision, charisma, etc. He'll certainly be an upgrade. I don't buy this idea of him being a sellout in any case, a man has to accept his destiny. If his destiny is to lead Nigeria to greater height so be. But I think it's mischievous to think that GEJ is better than Rochas. In terms of what if I may ask! |
Abagworo: Rochas has not come out in the open but I have this question for my Igbo brothers that were attacking Amaechi that he wants to contest VP. Are we going to give Rochas massive support if he declares? If Rochas is presented as flag bearer of a major political party, well I suppose GEJ will have to take the back seat. |
These folks still don't get, do they? FG is NOT, repeat, NOT negotiating with terrorists! |
It is naturally for sadists, bigots, fundamentalists, terrorists, and their sponsors to embark on suicide missions. Suicide is the naturally consequence of such exercise. Buhari, having met those categorisation, is gravitating along a natural path. He will not be missed! |
4chi: If and when it comes down to the rubber, NO TRIBE WILL EVER ALLIGN WITH THE IBOS!! Their aggressiveness ,uncouth and unrefined nature and the abysmal lack of tact is a clear disincentive@bolded, you mean for example the fellow who made this comment: You see in the case of the Niger Delta militants, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua sent an aeroplane to bring them, he sat down with them and discussed with them, they were cajoled, and they were given money and granted amnesty.Or the fellow who made the comment in my tagline, huh? ![]() |
@Op, What we (Igbos) need is to close ranks within ourselves; not with hausa, yoruba, or ijaw, but with and within ourselves. |
The baboons strut; the dogs barks. Soon the dogs and baboon will be immersed in monumental lost, dealt by the shoeless fisherman! |
Why not Rochas/Fashola? SE will not vote for VP this time around! Either a SE candidate or GEJ. Pronto! |
lol, The flower planter, getting a hit! ![]() Anyways, I learnt he graduated from flower planting to flower watering. What does he do these days, since we are in the raining season? |
“The country has moved forward; it may not be exactly good but we are not where we used to be. It will definitely get better,” he said. Mr. Esele urged Nigerians not to be pessimistic about the country but work with the government to ensure that they all benefitted from the dividends of democracy. Mr. Jonathan had said that Nigeria’s economy had attracted a lot of Foreign Direct Investments, with an impressive growth in Gross Domestic Product in his first two years in office.Esele clearly knows what he is talking about - he leads the Trade Union Congress. Nice to hear from those who give fair and honest assessment of things; very unlike those moved by clannish, sectional or partisan politics! |
aurenflani: Attack Buhari? Are u insayn? Attacking Buhari means only one thing! No opposition - dictatorship;paving the way for your gej's govt to fall like a pack of cards. Seriously Buhari is more than your insolent, rude potrayal in the eyes of millions.Didn't he threaten the peace of Nigeria, even more than the other groups mentioned. If security services need to monitor groups and individual who pose security threat, it makes a lot of sense to start with those who wished blood upon 'dogs and baboons.' And Buhari is clearly not above the laws of Nigeria, despite what ignorant folks might think. |
Something good came from Sa-liar Reporters for once. Nice write-up! |
~Bluetooth:I find myself agreeing with you for the first time. Why threaten non-violent MASSOB, and reforming OPC while MEND is fomenting trouble in the creeks, threatening at one time to attack muslims and mosques, then pipelines and installations? Why not monitor and challenge MEND? And while at it, how about Asari Dokubo and his NDVF, and at personally level Ango, and 'dogs and baboons' - Buhari? |
I think the most important lessons derived from the Civil War is: 'How not to prosecute a war' But given the circumstance then, declaring the Biafra as a sovereign state was the right call, and gallant were the men who sacrificed their lives that their families will have dignity, respect, and most importantly freedom. Unfortunately, Nigeria learnt little or no lessons from the event, as evident from disinterest in having a proper dialogue, let alone addressing the issues the led to it. Today drum beat of war sound loud in the desert and creeks, while secessionists cries grow louder by the day. Sooner or later Nigeria will again be forced to confront these, having failed to do what is necessary to build a nation. Whether or not, Nigeria can successfully deal with ghost from it's past is yet to be seen. |
The Security Services in the present administration are more professional and thorough; their many successes have saved many lives despite the occasions the terrorists have succeeded in carrying out their dastard acts. Suffice to say, a more professional security services is one of the benefits bequeathed Nigerians by the rise of terrorism in the North. Kudos to these brave and diligent men and women of the security services; this is another blow against terrorists and their sponsors! |
Powerful woman she is then. Amechi's should have tangoed with his mate, rather than picking a fight with a woman. By the way, I didn't read any of those propaganda and beer parlour scoops. |
babyosisi: Wole Soyinka should be careful not to destroy the legacy he has built by involving himself in unsavory affairs. This is the long and short of this thread. Perfectly articulated! |
