A terrible experience if you ask me. I have forgotten the technical name, but it has to do with inequlibrium between the vibration around you and within your eardrum. It is advisable to chew gum during this period to initiate a counter vibration to reduce the effect. |
automaticcarzz: Have you forgotten some PDP Governors voted for him too?Minority judging from the numbers. Question is how many of those can he really count on when the chips are down. Quite frankly Ameachi is dangerously isolating himself, in this business of numbers. I do wish him well, he seems a dogged fighter, I hope he understands though that 'discretion is a better form of valour!' |
Congratulations to Ameachi. I however wonder what it profits Ameachi to win reelection but lose his party's support. Perhaps he is warming up to decamp to APC as I fail to see how this re-election will serve him in PDP. |
Rest In Peace, Father of Africa Literature! |
Buhari has completely lost it with this! Those of us who oppose him based on principle and his attecedents are very much vindicated. His bigoted and irrational way of thinking did not start today, and is not about to end. In Buhari's logic, it was OK for boko haram to kill several policemen, burn police stations; kill innocent civilians randomly, destroy churches and public places but wrong for government to fight back. In Buhari's warped and bigoted mind, it is great for Boko haram to seize people, terrorize towns and city openly in the hilux pick-up, but when government picks up the guntlet and challenge their reign of terror it is blue murder! Buhari is as devilish and wicked as they come; he has no sense of decorum. People like him anywhere near the corridors of power will only promote bigotry and deaths in hundreds of thousand, provided it is not of 'his' people. I hope he continues to talk more frequently so that we continue to gain more insights into his twisted and evil mind. |
Might just be the Swaziland witches maintaining the approved 150m altitude flight path even though they are in Nigeria airspace. ![]() https://www.nairaland.com/1289668/witches-allowed-maximum-150m-flying |
Social security is not a bad idea, but it is very important that it is well thought out and implemented. The question really is does Imo State have the money to throw at social security? And must it necessary start with unemployed graduates? Do they have the necessary infrastructure to implement this? What alternative projects have been foregone for this social security program? That said, employing these graduate in full time government job and paying token is called - underemployement, itself a malaise. It ties them down, and limits the ability to explore other potentially better opportunities/options. |
@Op, There are two things Buhari is good at: 1, butchering unarmed colleagues in cold and 2, failing to win presidential elections! To expect him to comment on critical national issues requiring wisdom and tact is asking for too much. My cat and an effigy stands better chance of articulating a reasonable position than Buhari on these sort of issues. Make no mistake Op, Buhari taciturn mien is nothing but a mask to disguise his utter cluelessness on national issue. Why begrudge him? |
@Op, Contrary to what some of my people will say, many Igbos will rather vote Rochas than GEJ in 2015 if he is contesting as President. Not because he is the most qualified from SE, but simply because Nigerian Presidency is all about time and chance - opportunity. It doesn't come easily, and it is not for the smartest or the most intelligent. It simply for the best positioned. While Rochas disruptive move from APGA to APC have left a bad taste in many Igbos, clinching the APC ticket could change alot in his favour. If there is one thing going for Rochas, it is his oratory skill; and then his ability to connect with different people. Hence, depending on the 'marketing' SE can be persuaded in favour or Rochas. Actually, GEJ remains the best Nigerian president so far, but bad media from SW and violence in the North appears to undermine his performance. If he is not contesting against any SE/SS of note, he will nonetheless win massive votes from these two region. Rochas will provide very steep competition for him if he runs as President. |
^^^^ The job of the President is to create policies and enabling environment for the things you listed, not to do them himself. The International Airport, and a free trade zone in SE are such enabling environment. All he need do now is to ensure successful take-off/implementation. Smart business men will take it up from there. |
From the same man who told Nigerians not too long ago that 'Yorubas are the problem with Nigeria' ? Wonders will never cease! |
sexkillz: Thank You. You are welcome my brother. |
Welcome on board Sexkillz, A man is judge by the legacy he leave behind. I know you need no lessons in moderating in Nairaland; I can only say that Nairaland Politic sections is filled with banana peels and potholes; some self made. Hubris nonetheless, is the greatest of them all. Ikenna, and Jarus before him, fell to this flaw. Navigating them is crucial to whatever legacy you wish to leave behind. All the best! |
Ngwakwe: When Ikenna started hitting the South East Nairalanders with bans, most South West Forumites were cheering him including Nduchuks by saying deal with Onlytruth, Dede1, Alex101, Manny4life, Biafra-reps, 9ja-I-hail etc.Words of wisdom! Ikenna is just like the proverbial river that forgot it source, I hope the lesson he learnt here are applied by him in real life. Blood is always thicker than water. |
ndu_chucks: Oga, you are not privy to the communications between the Supermod and the subject. OAM4J told us that the subject was warned to follow moderators' guidelines and he did not meet expectations in that regard. So with due respect, STFUWhat crap is this one pissing about? |
Personally, if the following are contesting I'll vote: Rochas GEJ Fasola . . . My Dog My cat My... . . . Buhari in that order! |
Demdem: and why cant she? SHe is super Mod, he is a mod. she isnt super for nothing. Ikenna erred, mukinatu corrected. whats wrong with that? what rule states that a super mod can undo the acts of a mod.I didn't say she can't unban. I only stated the proper way to do it. And this is by asking the one who banned to unban, and only do it when he refuses. That's the only way to be really 'super', the other way you suggested is 'ordinary' . |
DerideGull: I sensed you are rushing into war you never envisaged. Ironsi stood by as his kinsmen were ruthlessly murdered in northern region without batting an eye. Yet Ironis was furiously accused of favoring his kinsmen and was shamefully killed for his stupidity. Nairaland is a complete replica of Nigeria except the ownership. In fact, I am not going to vouch for ownership of nairaland since I do not have details.Ikenna, exemplifies Ironsi in several respect. He stretched out his hands in attempt to weaken, not strengthen his kinsmen. When it was time to tackle the opposition, he chickened out! How can I fire a shot for him? |
ndu_chucks: Ikenna, you have once again thrown decorum out of the window, the same way you brought your grievance against OAM4J to the public arena instead of taking it to your moderator section. The Supermod is your superior and has every right to undo any error on your part. If you have been banning people for offenses which do not warrant a ban, then the supermod is within her right to correct your wrongful act. You of all people should understand why rules must be followed.Ikenna has gone (for good or bad I could care). But the allegation against Mukina2 is valid, and remain. Coming from a fellow MOD it's even more compelling. There is nothing beloved about Mukina2 who enjoys having various ethnic groups go at each others throat by promoting to frontpage threads whose only objective is mudslinging and bigotry. Ikenna banned people for small slights no doubt. But what Mukina2 ought to have done in any case is to ask Ikenna to unban those wrongfully banned, not unbanning them herself. That is the wrong way to go about it. |
Demdem: and why must u fight tribalism? what is wrong with tribalism? Bigotry is what should be fought and not tribalism. You should direct that question to Mukina2; and then to Seun who empowered Ikenna and his MODs to fight tribalism (whatever it means.) |
By the way I, and many Igbo posters find the userid below very offensive. OMO IBO https://www.nairaland.com/omo%20ibo MODs, Kindly do something about it! |
DerideGull: Bros, I can not believe you are attempting to hold brief for the moniker called Ikenna351 on nairaland. It is true that water flows to the channel it is once selected. I never thought to see any Nigerian afflicted with Ironsi syndrome. This is reason I laugh my tooth off when confused southerners cry about northerners dominating everything in Nigeria. If you play fool rest assured you will treated like a fool. History is not made a subject for nothing.Hold brief for Ikenna? No brother, you mistake my intent. Ikenna failed to listen to reasons, articulated by those who have seen the hair in his father's anus (metaphorical speaking); he dug his own grave when he clamped down on his kinsmen with ferociousness to make a point. Now the folly of his actions is glaring as he unable to exercise same ferocity on the other tribe, yet he is accused of favoring his folk. A sad irony, if you ask me. That said, I would not like to see him treated shabbily by Mukina2 of all people, who herself is the Queen of Tribalism in Nairaland, responsible for many anti-Igbo thread in Nairaland frontpage! |
Ikenna351: His own rules? Forum rules? So when other tribes insults yorubas and i act, it becomes forum rules. But when a yoruba insults other tribes and i act, it becomes Ikenna's rule. Hmm! Good to know. Its becoming very clear the type of people i work with.Lol @ the bolded. Somehow you remind me of one Major 'Kaduna' Nzeogwu, - the naive soldier who thought he could fix Nigeria! Welcome to Naija politics! What elders saw sitting down, cannot be seen by a child even if he mounts Iroko tree. Ngbanu continue to fight tribalism by banning your folks! Em, Good Morning! |
OAM4J: He was advised and warned not to moderate according to his own rules but to follow the forum rules and if he feels there is need for more rules he should make a case for it, yet he continued doing things his ways. This is not a military section, it is politics section, there is a civil way to go about things yet he will not follow that route. He has an assignment to do, when he goes overboard, those who supervise his actions have a duty to correct his errors.I understand you. I have commented on his method and pointed out the need for him to co-operate with established norms and unwritten codes; well, judging from the plethora of complaints, it is fair enough to say, Ikenna hasn't changed, at least not much. But I cannot say categorically if his method is working or not. But if he doesn't get the support of Seun/super MODs, I think the reasonable thing for him to do is to resign. Tribalism is NOT easy to fight, especially in a country where ethnic affiliation is stronger than national one. Nigeria is intrinsically a tribalistic country, Ikenna chose a tough course to pursue -ending tribalism, and then he chose to do so in yet tougher way. Tough! As for Mukina2, well, I stand by my earlier comments! |
justhelp: yeah under-employment and pea-nut but you need to think positive and give credit to their Government that engage their youthn, at least they are sitting at home or roaming the street or carry gun and kidnapp people, they are useful the state and they living their life, let other state govt emulate them and see what Nigeria would become,so learn how to encourage government that is try to reach people and change life.Under-employement is under-employement; it is different from armed robbery, kidnapping, etc. Even if other states emulate Osun by under-employing their workforce, it is still under-employment, nothing stellar! |
eggheaders: Oga oam4j,willywilly is back with Willy*Willy.at christkid cry me a river.how does raphead family eggheaders. raphead: olori eyin ni ooo.Interpreted: Olori eyin = egg head! https://www.nairaland.com/newpost?topic=1288692&post=15723630 You think only you and your folks alone understand Yoruba? |
Actually long before Ikenna got his fangs, there is no self respecting poster who doesn't know that Mukina2 is the mother and numero uno promoter of tribalism in Nairaland. Ikenna's post lends support, and perhaps credence, to the allegation. |
With massive under-employment, no thanks to agencies such as Oyes, that pays graduate pea-nut, this is not unexpected! |
Ikenna351: I would like you to address that question to Mukina2. Let her come and tell you why she has been fueling or encouraging hatred among tribes in Politics section by unbanning some members here that i ban, who have persistently have been insulting other members and their tribes with all form of derogatory names. While I have (re)stated my objection to high-handiness of the new MOD aka Ikenna, I think it is disrespectful for Mukina2 (or any other MOD for that matter) to unban forumers banned by Ikenna (a fellow MOD) without consulting him or explaining rationale for such action. It is even worse if in undoing Ikenna's action, protection of another ethnic group is the overriding motivation for the action. Put succinctly, if Ikenna's allegation (against Mukina2) here is true, Seun should either call Mukinat2 to order, or relieve Ikenna of the MOD responsibility if he thinks he is not doing a good job. Ikenna should throw in the towel if this allegation is not redressed. ** PS ** It amounts to bigotry to hide this post!! |
Bad move then declaring state of emergency. Should have just allowed them go! ![]() |
