Op, next time add a date stamp to the thread title. That the only way to know at a glance that it's a new 'attack.' By the way, are there people still left in Yobe and Maiduguri? |
I think Fashola should just shut his mouth if he does not know what to say. How could ask us not to mention over 2 million death in order not to re-open some wounds. Anyway, what more can we expect of one who could not extricate himself from a common thief - Tinubu! |
What is wrong with some nigerians, to the extent that you wish bad fortune to good people? Ngozi Okonjo Iweala contrary to opposition sponsored propanganda remains one of the hard-working ministers in this administration. My heart goes out to her and her family in this trying time. I pray her innocent aged mother is returned safely home . Let good people say Amen to this prayer! |
@OAM4J, I understand your argument but yet it is not satisfactory. I have no problem with disqualification of Afam based on the ban rule as I was affected by the similar rule, along side other. The problem is that the timing was very bad and left a sour taste on even neutral observers. The fact that the nomination was not extended added intrigues to the conspiracy. Banning those who protest because you guys are Mod is also very unfortunate. I was in similar shoe like you noted, but it doesnt mean I support things done improperly because of it. Nevertheless, we have no power to stop you lots from going on with the votes, consider our protest as footnotes on this process. I and many others maintain it was poorly managed and cannot be dissociated from ethnic bigotry. Of course I understand also that you cannot keep repeating yourself, as you are not willing to see it from other people's point of view. Enjoy your charade! |
9ja_i_hail2: PointB please check your hushmail id i sent you email sometime ago regarding Eze Ndigbo constitutional drafting but haven't got your reply.ok my brother. Will check, but unfortunately will not be able to reply you until tmorow evening. |
Sincere 9gerian: If you read my earlier comment, you'll note that I'm not fascinated about any phantom fight against corruption. This is because I believe the root cause of corruption in Nig is sharing of FREE oil money. So as long as the sharing is not stopped, corruption can only be fought half-heartedly like OBJ did and GEJ is currently doing.I can barely point at these so-called tangible projects going on in the SE. Kindly be more specific! |
0lumide: SINCERE 9GERIAN IS A PDP PAID AGENT!!!! HE IS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THE CURSE OF THE LAND WILL FOLLOW WHEN THE CLOUD CLEARS!!This is pathetic. Grow up! |
OAM4J, Your apology is not accepted! Slice it or dice it anyway you like, there is an ethnic agenda in whole process. 1. Why did you decide to close the poll earlier than plan? 2. Does it not occur to you (MODs) that some of us consider Gbawe an ethnic champion and an ACN thug who is above the law? 3. What relationship does postings/bans in other sections got to do with posting/bans in polictics section, 4. Does it not occur to you that if Afam was ban earlier that those who nominated him would have nominated some other than the three people you chose, 5. Would it not have been prudent to start another fresh nomination or extend the time for this reason of late disqualification of Afam? 6. Why do Mods have to ban those who disgree with their ad-hoc laws or when they think they have no rational solutions/answer. 7. Why should discerning Igbos support this charade and injustice when obviously the Yoruba Mods clearly have no intention of allowing non-Yoruba to participate? 8. Why do Yorubas not see the ethnic bigotry in most of their posters and mod but rush to imply same of non-yorubas? Oga much respect sir, but you people should go and have your award. We have noted your message, Igbos are not welcome to contest as they alone can banned for similar offense commited by yorubas. |
Jarus: Desola ,this is very lame! Let's hear you issue same threat to Gbawe or kats when they are their elements. |
Now that Jarus has successfully made this politics section award a Yoruba affairs by excluding the leading candidate (Afam) I hope he is happy. |
ujchief: or what? U want to impress Desola and ur tribesmen by banning me? Are they not impressed already that u'v given them the green light to win without a contest? Are they stil demanding for a pound of my flesh? Pls click the ban button, its the least u can do to prove ur powers to Desola, at least, she'll stop calling u a betrayer. You see when Jarus banned me earlier this year, it was simply because I protested against Coogar's candidacy as judge during the Political Debate prep period. I begin to ask myself if it were Gbawe or Kats protesting the way I did, would they have been banned by Jarus? If no, what could be the reason. It was a confirmation that Igbos are always subject to different sets of rules. What was kats and gbawe never banned for 'insults' with strong words (the citation) for my ban? Have they not used both in this forum? Why different set of rules for Igbos and Yoruba in Nairaland? Why must the mod sacrifice Igbos to make their tribemen and women happy? Must everything in Nigeria and Nairaland be tribalistic? These are pertinent questions for the Mods and Management of Nairaland to answer before they destroy the forum! |
alj harem: are you actually following pointb nwunye'm ?My man alj harem, you are smarter than this. Or have you fallen blind to the shenanigans that is going on here? Why should Afam be disqualified at the last minute? What did he do to merit 6 bans that Gbawe and Desola and even Kats did not do double? If Afam was banned earlier like I was, I am sure we wouldn't be here arguing over this. Isn't it obvious that the whole thing set for Yorubas to win, by Yorubas Mods of politics section? Even a child knows this! |
Desola: Yes, yes, Gbawe was a demon on that thread!Fixed. So what was he never banned? |
Jarus: UjchiefAs if been Igbo is not enough reason to ban him! What are you warning him for, have you stop getting hard-on when you ban Igbos? Is that part of the arousal process for you ? |
afam4eva: Now, let's also not forget that the rule about disqualifying contestants who have been banned were intentionally orchestrated to disenfranchise people who are not in the good books of the owners and cabals of this forum. It's a sordid tale. I am especially amazed that Gbawe manage to escape banned this year despite his unadulterated hate against Desola and co whereas others were banned for frivilous reasons. Till date I dont know what exactly I was banned for by both Jarus and Mukina. I guess it was to pave way for Gbawe and his Yoruba folks for this award. Nevertheless disqualifying you (Afam) certainly blew the lid in their faces. It's a sad day in Nairaland today! Ethnic bigotry has been elevated to official level - Jarus is the poster boy! |
I dont think any sensible Igbo should have anything to with the Politics Section election winner this year. Jarus, and co have managed to sectionalised it! |
Demdem: u and who?Ok. No problem. You Yorubas should go and have your Yoruba election for your Yoruba folks, after all we (Igbos) have had our own abi no be so? |
afam4eva: If a candidate doesn't meet the criteria of election, his username should not even be updated at all because all the nominated candidates are supposed to be investigated like was done for some candidates early on in the nomination and i want to believe i was not found wanting and that's because all my bans even though undeserved were not in the politics section. Now fast-forward to the eleventh hour when myself, Katz and Gbawe was the final nominees and realizing the fact that Nairaland has an ethnic twist to it and knowing that some Yorubas will vote for Katz/Gbawe while some Igbos will vote for me, they probably didn't want an Okoro to win so a discussion that probably went thus ensued...Well said. And next year, it just might happen to Ndu_chucks who sees nothing wrong with it now! |
ndu_chucks: Afam is a gentleman and as far as I can tell a very honest individual. Given that he was on the thread when people were disqualified for having been banned more than 2 times in the course of the year, I would have expected Afam to ask for clarification from Jarus, or even reject his nomination, because he knew quite well that he has been banned more than 6 times during the year.Is is Afam that is suppose to keep a log of his ban? For your information, I didn't even realize that Mukina once banned me, let alone when and for what! People like me who don't take the forum too seriously may not even realise they were banned. What I expected rational folks like to ask is: Why weren't we informed earlier by the Mod that Afam is not eligible. If he can do that for myself, beaf and others, why not for Afam? Why must Afam suffer for the Mod's negligence? And is it really a case of negligence, is not probable that something more sinister is in the works? |
PointB: I think it is very unfair and smacks of deliberate attempt to disenfranchise Afam. It's very hard not to read ethnic undertone to Jarus' action. First Jarus banned me for his self gratification, Mukina for God's knows what, and that formed the basis for my disqualification. My disqualification was 'early in the day' and I have long accepted it and moved on.Just in case. This is where we are: |
berem: whats funny? make i no make my choice again? In case you didn't read the first one, here is another explective from your knight in shining armour - again at Desola: Gbawe: Silly shrew, why don't you go to page one, confront your uncouth behaviour and apologize? Would that not be a decent way to let the issue "rest" than this your nauseating pretence and shameful attempt at playing victim? You should read the whole thread! https://www.nairaland.com/1052173/tinubu-calls-abolition-senate/7#12249187 |
berem: whats funny? make i no make my choice again? No just making sure you know what you are doing hailing a woman basher - Gbawe! https://www.nairaland.com/1052173/tinubu-calls-abolition-senate/7#12248791 |
olawalebabs: This is the type of comment that earn people ban, can't you present your point in a civil way without resulting to insult? And asking you to get out for your lack of objectivity is an insult? What if I had called you mumu? |
berem: anyone who insults or tonguelashes women on political section is not worth being my candidate. "TEAM GBAWE". Gbawe: My brother, I thank you for your words here. Your writing always shows pragmatic wisdom. Beyond any doubt in my mind, speaking up as you do here marks you out as a decent person concerned with equity and fairplay.https://www.nairaland.com/1052173/tinubu-calls-abolition-senate/7#12248791 Before you hail anyone research! |
berem: anyone who insults or tonguelashes women on political section is not worth being my candidate. "TEAM GBAWE".I laugh cho cho cho! Team Gbawe indeed |
olawalebabs: Human being with short memory. #okijajujuInMindMy friend, get out of here! What has Okija got to do with this? Did Afam disqualify Okija? Was he not even among those who stood against Okija's disqualification? If anything, it can be argued that the Okija issue have been paid in full by my disqualification. Why must Afam be disqualified now to pave way for Kats and Gbawe? Guy be objective for once in your life! |
I think it is very unfair and smacks of deliberate attempt to disenfranchise Afam. It's very hard not to read ethnic undertone to Jarus' action. First Jarus banned me for his self gratification, Mukina for God's knows what, and that formed the basis for my disqualification. My disqualification was 'early in the day' and I have long accepted it and moved on. But to disqualify Afam, at this time clearly smacks of conspiracy, orchestrated out sheer hatred and glaring bigotry aided by ethnic bias and or personal malice of the persons or group of persons involved, with the ultimate aim of paving the way for their favorite. The nonsense excuse put on is exactly what it is, contrived nonsense! Why was Afam not disqualified immediately he was first nominated like myself, Beaf, and even Desola (even though it was reversed)? What did Afam do to warrant even been banned that Gbawe, and Desola didn't do in multiple folds, and yet they were given all clear? Why was it only after Desola has called her boyfriend Mod uncharitable name over Afam, did the 'management' meet to disqualify Afam? Let us not forget in a hurry that nomination was abruptly brought to a close contrary to the rule? Is this not a glaring case of conspiracy and duplicity? This are question objective minded people of all side of the divide should seek deeper answers to. If the the Mods and Management of Nairaland have any modicum of objectivity left for this exercise, a Fresh Nomination should be called. The 'decent' nominees have a responsibility to speak out NOW as this is currently panning out to be very disgraceful an exercise. Under this circumstance, even a child will be ashamed to be 'honored' with this inanity of an award! Darkness is rising... He who come to equity, must come with clean hands. A fresh nomination or reversal of Afam disqualification is the least that is expected to right this glaring injustice. |
Slice it dice it anyway you like! The old bigot and fanatic wil NEVER win Presidential election in Nigeria. Buhari's time has long past, he is now a relic of the past! |
I dont think electoral college will be accepted in Nigeria. Nigeria is fictionalized along ethnic and religious line. Electoral college is simply an instrument of power grab by those with fictitiously large population figure. It is dead on arrival! |
What is Electoral College? Another roundabout way of allocating huge numbers to themselves based on fictitious census figures . Bloody frauds! |
