XperienceNaija: Enjoy this funny street interview/vox pop brought to you by Experiencing Niaja, your first choice in discovering the latest experiences and tourist sites in Nigeria. Yes, we need your own answer to this same question too. "If you become the president of Nigeria for one day, what will you do?" See Nigerians view about the question and what's your own answer too?
aanuoluwami14: Money because I worked for it. They love spending anyhow because the source is questionable
There r people who earns much, they dont pay bills, they don't know what to do woth the money other than spend it. No be everybody wey spend anyhow be thief. If i earn 400k n i don't pay rent, why can't i spend anyhow?
cococandy: What’s the guarantee that things will change after the remaining two years? In my experience, once prices increase in Nigeria, they hardly ever come back down. Traders get used to selling at that high price such that even when they buy cheaper, they still want to sell at the higher price. People just adjust to the new prices and carry on
We truly have horrible leaders but we are primarily our own problem.
Once a sane leader comes in, his advisers may tell him to review the border closure on some items, food can come in from other countries till we can solve the insecurity bedeviling the country. When there is enough food and commodity in the market, prices will fall. Those who r supposed to be in the farm are in idp camps all because of fulani herdsmen. The ones that r fortunate to be in the farm, have to pay the bandits landing fees before they can access their farms. Lets just rejoice nnamdi kanu has been caught.
Darkseid: This is exactly what I do these days. If change remain good, at least I won't be disappointed. I just pity salary earners, and some states are still failing to pay 18k per month.
Are u a politician? Are u not earning salary or wages? Abi u dey feed on people... If everybody become business men, how will it help other sectors? Stop pitying people,
Hammyaladin: See those people up there shifting goal post. Some days back a notherner was killed in the east( that pdp state man) I've forgotten his name.
Who said banditry doesn't take place in the North?!
How many news do we read hear on Nairaland of people been guned down in the Eastern part of Nigeria.
Insecurity in on the rise in every part of Nigeria!! Let's hope the government does something about the whole thing.
daviesmania: stewpiidiot government that dose not no what the citizens need... akwa ibom state is known for her good roads and that unfortunately is not the problem of that state... 70% of akwa ibomites lives below poverty line and all we hear all the time is road road road... udom is fraud. to say the very least.
What do u think should he do to address this? I know he is trying to bring in foreign investors to the state, bua is on ground with the fertilizer plant, heard there is massive project ongoing in ibeno axis... Interms of employment, he has been employing people into teaching service,in the last 6yrs, thr r 2 of such recruitment so fa that i know of. So outside these, what should he do? Please don't tell me to do what akpabio did, unless u can pinpoint industries those who benefitted from the jamborees kind of empowerment enjoyed.
FirefliesSun: You are still luck. The reason why I said this is because you still get to wake up in good health. All you just need is to think of a way forward. Things are bad in the country and that's a fact.
If you hear other graduates story ehemmmm u will cry. There was one I read a while back in jobs & vacancy section, I think the moniker is Aabuja , he talked about being a 2016 graduate. Check the thread, you will see people who are still unemployed at over 8 years after school. People who are still stucked with their aged parents.
Even me as it is,if I looked back and had to choose between working for other people, being emotional abused or being between learning a trade and being self employed: I will learn a trade. What can 35k do at the end of the day
Am a 2007 graduate... Till now no job... Am now at the mercy of family...
We plenty for here oo I did laundry for 4yrs, i dry finish, covid19 put a final lid to the biz, cos for 3months no pants to wash, landlord come add him own trouble increase rent. Paying rent in shop and house. The area my shop was situated was unique, once there is no light, there will be customers. Once nepa bring light for the week, business will slow. So either turn devil advocate so u have jobs to do at the expense of ur generator or u be on the side of the community guys and pray make light come and u go back empty. Apartfrom the stress, i had serious issues with my health, wasnt lasting long while making love to my woman. It affected our relationship so bad that she thought i was getting sex elsewhere. Not knowing my system was constantly on fire. Am not even talking of insults from Customers, customers that will give u clothes worth 10k but will be picking 1weekly till the clothes finish for ur hand without u seeing what u use the money for. Those that will give u clothes and later u realised they turned ur shop to their wardrobe. Those that will owe u money for ages, those that will tell u without them giving u clothes, u cant eat. The best customers too that will pay before service... Have seen stuffs
Imagine if this gross misappropriation of Nigeria's money was squandered like this to the imaginary 13,000 nameless beneficiaries under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, zombies would have stormed this thread and call GEJ unprintable names.
But since it happened under the watchful eyes of Baba lifeless A.K.A "Mr. Integrity" let us just laugh it off and blame the PDP as usual.
In the words of apc stalwarts, these things didnt start in our govt, we inherited it. Na so dem dey talk... Very useless people. U rode under the mantra of change but it seems u r competing with continuity in all bad we campaign against. God punish those supporting buhari Those who r in this forum praising buhari in Jesus name.
Another issues am having in nigeria is giving out contracts to individuals to collect tax unbehalf of the govt.. We have firs, sirs and lirs... This is absurd.. If the manpower in these agencies aren't enough, employ more staffs to do the job than giving the contracts to firms that will make more monies for themselves and shortchange the system. Nigeria should start thinking positively and strengthen its institutions than empowering and building strong men at the expense of the entire country
mrvitalis: This socialist done come again ...that means you are exclusively removing minimum of 95% of business in Nigeria from the tax bracket
Everyone should pay tax even if it's #5 pay it
Lottery winnings and bet winings also should be taxed
Freelance earnings , YouTube earnings and the likes needs to be taxed minimum of 30%
Show deals and entertainment industry should pay 40% tax minimum....this would raise the needed revenue
All private primary and secondary schools with school fees above 300k a year should be taxed 40%
All universities with school fees over 600k should be taxed 30%
All car owners should pay a road maintenance tax ranging from 50 k to over 2 million a year depending on if it's private , commercial , type of car etc
Everyone holidaying abroad should be charged $3000 dollars tax
Student who school abroad should be charged 40% of their total school fees before allowing them serve in nysc
Imported cloths should be taxed 100%
This is how u make money to run your government but this socialist won't agree
This is the way to go... U don't sit in ur office and enact laws and policies that won't fly. Every businesses in Nigeria pay taxes. U pay to the state govt, the local govt people will come and give u tax receipt.. So the vp shouldnt think they r formulating good policies when in other terms the policies r not on ground. In calabar the state govr cried on live tv that taxis, restaurant and smaller businesses should stop paying tax cos of the pandemic, less than 2weeks after the live cries, touts return to street harassing motorists and taxis to buy tickets. Naija na cruise...
mugnmuffin: Dear Nairalanders, I have an issue that has been on my mind for weeks now. My fiancé and I have been dating for over three years. I love him and he loves me too. We are physically attracted to each other. We’re both catholic but since I graduated, during my service year I gave my life to Christ, got saved and left the Catholic Church. So I’ve been a Pentecostal Christian since then. He on the other hand is still catholic. I subtly try to nudge him to consider getting saved, i.e acknowledging Christ as lord and savior and becoming born again but he is content with his laidback Christian life.
Earlier this year, he asked to meet my parents and I let him. My parents like him especially because my younger sis is married and they have been waiting for me too. They’re glad I’ve someone. However, after the introduction,I regret it. I’m now certain that he’s not the one. I think about my spiritual life and how lukewarm he is about the things of God, I think about kids and how we’ll raise the, with such differing views about God and I’m discouraged. I feel like I’m settling because he checks all the boxes on the checklist of physical attributes. Another mistake I made is, I didn’t pray about this decision and that worries me because anything that involves him,I just act with pausing to ask God, but I always ask God about other aspects of my life. So it’s like my associating with him is a minus for my spiritual life and that’s a huge cause for concern.
At this point, I want to tell my parents I am not convinced it’s him but I’m afraid of the disappointment this will cause. *sigh* I’ll appreciate your thoughts, comments, criticisms...
Tinubuadvocate: You are very wrong man this man has never execute any tangible projects in his senatorial district. He only advocating for terrorist. I still don't know why federal government not take him to court .
