Cuche: Visibly angry that despite all efforts to discredit Ngige, that the man still enjoys support from the people.Isn't it time u checked urself into a mental institution?.This might be the onset of schizophrenia,u know.Hearing voices, conversing with urself |
Idi Amin: I have to respond to your observations because of your high sense of responsibility. Think about it this way, do you think Ngige will intentionally disrespect a traditional institution. The Ngige I know may be stubborn but he is a not that silly. It's either he was not aware of that ofala or the opposition set that trap for him. Let me ask you, if not for Nairaland, were you aware of the ofala festival?Ofala that was scheduled since last year n he did not know of it?. Why didn't he take a cue from his rival Obiano, who moved back his own rally to Monday?.Would it have cost him much to have shifted his to Wednesday, the 9th?. |
Orimili state ko,Mbamili state ni. The only state that need be created in Igboland right now is Anioma state n then be brought into the wider Biafra/Southeast region of Nigeria, should we finally decide to go the way of regions as federating units. |
Why is there no picture of Ngige's campaign flag off?.At least chino has availed us of Obiano's own. We've been told before that Ngige pulls the heavier crowd of the two,we need pictures to verify if that be true. |
The most asinine post on nairaland yet. |
chimchim1: U no gt sense oo. Wat industrialisation re u talking abt.If u would quote me to start throwing insults, don't ever do so again ere Amadioha strike that ur pea brain. Tackle whatever assertion I made that u disagree with. Now Mr.Knowall, define "condusive environment for industries" that is adequately captured in this tissue paper called 12-point agenda?. |
shachris03: Why do you say is deceptive when it is happening in other states? Imo state implemented it as has stood true to their words. Some western states has been running free educations for their students since 1960. Scholarships are ok, but the rich and highly placed would easily hijack that. Free and compulsory Education is the key. Ngige can make it happen.U have comprehension problem,i swear.Quoted posters were commenting on his proposal to halve tuition fee in the state owned university, not basic education which is already free. |
Clerverly: Okricha! Ga ree ahia gi! Maka na ntinyere gi anya ebea, isi gi agba utu. Nwa akwo n'azu, amagi na ije di anya. Mgbe itoputara nwa okorobia bia ebe a kanyi tugharia uche na ndoro ndoro ochichi. Hapu ino n'azu igwe ome ka mmadu(konputa) na akpo mu iyi. It's 'okuko ebu nisi amaghi n'uzo di anya',not nwa akwo nazu. Again,Central Igbo is pronounced Igbo Izugbe not Igbo nzugbe. No proof as yet to term u a Yoruba guy,but u do need more tutoring in Igbo. |
Btw,there is no mention of industrialization drive, revenue generation n employment creation. This is nothing but crap. It's not worth the paper it's written on. |
Kingsley1000: “Local government electionsLocal government elections are already slated for October this year.Is he going to annul the result n sack local councils already sworn in to pave way for new elections?. How do one trust him to be faithful to this so-called 12-point agenda when he's already bn dishonest in 2 from the get-go?. |
Kingsley1000: According to him, primary andBasic education (Pry.1-JSS 3) is already free under the UBE scheme, which one is he going to make free again?. |
figment232: 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of NigeriaLie. No such provision in the CFRN 1999,as amended |
Livinus.c:Nope,I am from Nnewi.Uruagu Nnewi. |
INNO18: I dont know what the govt intends to do with this vast last land right in the middle of the townIf that's Nkwo triangle,it's meant for a shopping mall. I used to think u are from Osumenyi, not Nnewi proper.Where in Nnewi town are u from?. |
Double post |
kokoA: Am I the only one that saw "NECO" as the LP guy's highest qualification? I think INEC made a mistake there. What mistake?.Do u know of any higher academic qualification he has?.Let us know if u do |
http://m.washingtonpost.com/opinions/michael-gerson-pope-francis-the-troublemaker/2013/09/23/19084384-2481-11e3-b75d-5b7f66349852_story.htm Pope Francis’s blunt, conversational, subversive, disarming, humane, self-critical interview in the Jesuit publication America amounted to a sort of extemporaneous encyclical. He is clearly concerned that the message of Christianity has become obscured by ecclesiastical moralism. “The proclamation of the saving love of God,” he explained, “comes before moral and religious imperatives.” Just as clearly, this pope intends to be a disruptive force; the Vicar of Christ as troublemaker. Rather than leaving his critique in the realm of vague admonition, Francis waded into controversy. “We cannot insist only on issues related to abortion, gay marriage and the use of contraceptive methods,” he said. These should be raised “in a context” and not “all the time.” While the pope’s views on these topics are orthodox, his critique of legalism is radical and unsparing. The church must be more than the sum of “small-minded rules.” “We have to find a new balance,” he said, “otherwise even the moral edifice of the church is likely to fall like a house of cards.” Many casual observers of Christianity, particularly in the media, have found this surprising. They tend to view religion as identical to ethics. Remove the moral nagging and what remains? GALLERY Tom Toles goes global: A collection of cartoons about international news. This betrays a very casual acquaintance with Christianity, which was founded by a subversive, troublemaking critic of ecclesiastical moralism. During three years wandering around the southern Galilee and Jerusalem, Jesus managed to offend just about every cleric he encountered, whom he variously called “ blind guides,” “whitewashed tombs” and a “brood of vipers.” True religion, he said, is not found in obedience to the letter of the law; it is an affair of the heart. And this friendship with God often comes easier to the simple, powerless and outcast — children, sinners, women, gentiles and the poor. It was a message calculated to offend legalists in every generation: Ethical religion without love is arid and misleading. Relationships — with God and your neighbor — come first. Ethics arise from a grateful and transformed heart. Over the millennia, this strain of impatience with legalism has provided Christianity with an advantage. When the church becomes ossified, legalistic and hypocritical — as all institutions periodically do — it is the radical reformers who carry on its most authentic tradition. This was true of the original Francis, the one from Assisi, who knew the power of a dramatic gesture (he once stripped naked in the public square to shame his materialistic father and begin a life of poverty). During his recent interview, Pope Francis was more modest but no less ambitious. Every time he speaks, you wonder what uncomfortable truth is about to be exposed. Those who hope that the pope’s reform agenda is identical to liberal Protestantism are likely to be disappointed. Many mainline churches have distanced themselves from legalism by throwing traditional moral views overboard and embracing progressive causes. In some cases, this has been a panting, unsuccessful search for relevance. Francis is taking a different direction. Rather than surrendering the moral distinctiveness of the Catholic Church, he is prioritizing its mission. In the America interview, he vividly compared the church to “a field hospital after battle.” When someone injured arrives, you don’t treat his high cholesterol. “You have to heal his wounds. Then we can talk about everything else.” The outreach of the church, in other words, does not start with ethical or political lectures. “The most important thing is the first proclamation: Jesus Christ has saved you.” There is a good Catholic theological term for this: the “ hierarchy of truths .” Not every true thing has equal weight or urgency. But this does not adequately capture Francis’s deeper insight: the priority of the person. This personalism is among the most radical implications of Christian faith. In every way that matters to God, human beings are completely equal and completely loved. They can’t be reduced to ethical object lessons. Their dignity runs deeper than their failures. They matter more than any cause; they are the cause. So Francis observed: “Tell me: when God looks at a gay person, does he endorse the existence of this person with love, or reject and condemn this person? We must always consider the person.” This teaching — to always consider the person — was disorienting from the beginning. The outsiders get invited to the party. The prodigal is given the place of honor. The pious complain about their shocking treatment. The gatekeepers find the gate shut to them. It is subversive to all respectable religious order, which is precisely the point. With Francis, the argument gains a new hearing That opinion piece says it all for me. |
asha 80: it seems you are onground in nnewi precisely...where do you think the ordinary guy is tilting towards to?Right now,a slight majority of the youth(at least, those I sampled their opinion) tilt towards Ubah, largely due to his spending. He's followed closely by loyalty n support for APGA(Obiano is still largely unknown,so APGA is positioned for prime post for when campaigns heat up n he makes himself known to all).Coming a distant third is Ngige.Truly, whatever popularity he has is on d wane now. Then again, there's the deportation saga. He's not going to live that down. Funny thing,PDP does not figure in any of those whose opinion I sampled. We may be biding them adieu in Anambra, should they not be among d top 3 at d end of d day.A good thing,in my books. |
obyrich: Polygamy is against her CHURCH DOCTRINE abi? Have you forgotten that Christ did not have to make anyone repent before healing them? @ OP please keep your prayer to your self. I pity the woman who thinks that your raucous vocalisation will solve her problem. Christ healed many people out of compassion not by their own merit. Self righteousness is more despicable to God than polygamy.God bless you,my brother. I do shake my head at our modern day,so-called 'christians'.Many they will be who Christ will deny on the last day. |
akpomeme: Power is given by God. If Ifeanyi is choosen to lead his people nobody can change it. Heaven help those who help themselves.Nkasiobi ndi aruru ana |
slimghost: Onlylies, go and sit down one place. If the yardstick for supporting an empty tout like Ifeany Ubah is because you are from Nnewi then you need to reassess yourself! No sane true anambrarian would support a man like Ifeanyi Ubah to lead my beloved state. I 'd rather vote Ngige than this criminal! Why waste energy responding to that tripe?.Ignoring his rants,I find,is the best way to deal with an airhead like him. |
Dkobo: jealousy ebe ifeanyi ubah no!Nwanne,je gbalu ogwu gi ñuo. Why should I be jealous of Ifeanyi when am trying so hard to help him spend his money d way he wants to?.U aren't making much sense,u know. But for coming from Nnewi,we don't even have any other thing in common. So tell me,why would I be jealous of him?. Btw,u are yet to state whether what I wrote earlier on on this thread be true or not. |
Ah,yes. The same rent-a-crowd that was at Ubah's campaign, will be at Ngige's or whoever's?. Tis the crowd that votes Nov.16 that matters. |
Dkobo: na jealousy go kill u!Hahahahahaha. Jealousy nebe? |
ik4life: if you are sincere answer this, since you said you are one of the people renting crowd for him;the people you organized for the onitsha rally have they been paid, how much where they paid and who gave you the money to give your purported rented crowd?Dude,u don't want to go into all this on a public forum with me.What Ifeanyi Ubah's campaign has done/is doing, starting from the voters registration period till this moment,is borderline illegal.U n I know this.Just do what u feel ur conscience can accommodate.Canvassing for him online is not so bad, just stop selling the blue butter that he's going to win or that he has any real plans to develop our state. He doesn't.He's in it for the money, same thing u are in for doing this. |
oge101: I also heard that the people that attended his flag off campaign in Onitsha were not paid to increase the number, they actually came of their own free will, he is quite a popular man. But really why won't people attend after what this man has done for us (Igbos). I must say that his actions are commendable.Dude,u lie n u know it.Most of Ifeanyi's crowd are bought n paid for.I know this cos am a unit executive of one of the groups purporting to promote Ubah's candidacy. We know how much is made available for the rent-a-crowd n gotv operations. This is not the place to start airing our linens, but u urself know most peeps are just there for the largesse he's doling out n are not going to vote him.I know am not,tho I be from the same town. |
Donchyke39: If you were not in Anambra between 2003 and 2006 then consult your dictionary.I was in Anambra 1995-2005,so.....define that word, please |
eGuerrilla: @Sincere 9gerian,WTF?! What B.Sc?.From which institution?When did he graduate?. |
Bensonn: me a tout? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha, slimghost/chino/kingbang talking to himself again. Hahahahaahhahahahaahha, oya use another of your numerous accounts to reply this one, lmao!Of a truth, your stewpidity is legendary. |
chukwudi44: Bros the entire xtians of SS/SE/MB/sothern Kaduna/xtian niger/xtian adamawa/xtian bauchi will still vote in GEJ.Erm.....am sure am not included in that ur combo,am I bro?.I didn't ask u to speak for me and mine, speak for urself. |
Capital Cee: See let me tell all these stupid beings here, Ngige awarded and kicked off the construction of Nkwo to nkwo in 2005 it was only completed during peter obi's administration. So you will tell me when the road right in front of my compound was constructed. Look warrior or what ever you call yourself. Dont be a brute who is a kid? I tell you again peter obi never did anything for my ppl, he only collaborated with emma bishop Okonkwo to construct some roads in Ichi. If you dont know sometin keep quite and stop being insultive.I tara akwu,k'otu eze gi di?.This shows u are really a kid posting on here.Nkwo to nkwo was done by Obi,even here in Uruagu where there's much grouse against Obi no one can dispute nor twist that fact.As to ur Onitsha-Owerri rd assertion,I laugh in Spanglish. If u cannot come up with any other thing in support of ur preferred candidate,I advise u shut it than continue making a show of urself. |
Capital Cee: i cant name a many of them, but i know some specific ones, there is this network roads along st. Micheals road in ozubulu linking nnewi in one side and bursting out to ihiala lga on the other side, theres one linking nkwo-ezulogu in Oraifite to uruagu in nnewi, that road is in a sorry state for long before ngige came in, there is another troublesome bridge before nkwo-edo callled ekulo, work has started there before when he was governor until he was removed, infact currently even with foot you cant pass there becos it was since abandoned. The federal road coming from onitsha heading to owerri,(according to ,my father, the name of the lga was derived from that road 'ekwusigo') the road has been killing people, even some of my kinsmen. It was that period he was ruling dt d road was biult. The general perception is that ''Ngige rulu olu oge ochiri''The Nkwo-to-Nkwo road was built by Peter Obi.It passes thru my village from where am typing this. As to ur nonsense about the Onitsha-Owerri road, construction was flagged off before the 2003 election.Get ur stories straight before u embarrass urself here BTW,are u from Oraifite?. |
