The last time I checked there is no one principle of management, we have many management principles so what are you talking about? I think you've chosen the wrong person to discuss principles of management with....lol Why do you think a hiring manager would demand that a candidate must have certain educational qualification with 15 years experience to stand the chance of being hired as a manager? |

Politics › Re: Victor Uwajeh: US War College Confirms Buhari Didn’t Submit Any Credentials by Polchiz(m): 11:03pm On Nov 12, 2018 |
abbey621: Point A: A manager in a corporate setting is expected to have general knowledge of specific area/areas that he or she is managing not advanced knowledge. In fact all my years as a technical professionals and an I. T auditor, I never worked with a manager who knew close to half the things I knew. When I became a manager I started knowing less and less about the micro tasks each of my auditors were engaged in and I focused more on the macro engagements. I think you are confusing managerial skills with technical skills, a manager can get his or team to work more efficiently by deploying effective team building tactics focused on key metrics, such a manager need not be an expert but must know who or what to rely upon when answers are needed. When you've managed 15 to 20 staff members and also hold two Masters degrees, maybe I've received some lectures on advanced management...lol
Point B: The Nigerian Constitution only requires a WAEC certificate for any presidential aspirant. In the U.S., no formal education is required, surely your expectations are based on your own thinking and not what is written in the Constitution! Furthermore, formal education is no guaranty for success, as witnessed by our Ph.D holding ex-president, perhaps you meant non-formal education/experience? Are you saying someone who led during the military era and also led during the Democratic era such as Obasanjo would be classified as a less educated leader to someone like GEJ who holds a Ph.D? Sometimes formal education is highly overrated! You still do not get it. What you do in your office and what is written in Nigerian constitution are not dogmas. I am talking of an established principle under ideal condition. It does not matter what is obtainable in your office or Nigeria. |

abbey621: I think you've jumped the gun a bit, your response is directly against everything I've learned from graduate studies in regards to leadership/management, the president is important no doubt but emphasis should be more on the people actually carrying out his directives, this is the core of effective leadership, at least this is what my years of experience and educational qualificatins taught me. The president's fate is determined by the people he appoints, is this not correct? As a manager in a Fortune 50 company, I can tell you that my job would be on the line if the people I manage are incompetent at their jobs. Yes I could fire them and replace them but ultimately their efficiency/inefficiency determines my fate. At least in advanced societies this is true, in 9ja we are fond of blaming everything on the president hence we might not place heavy priorities on the cabinet memebers but the premise still holds! You need serious lectures on advanced management. A manager should atleast possess two times (double) of the skills and knowledge of the people he is managing. It is not enough to give order and directives, you ought to supervise the work and ensure that the people you are leading are doing the right thing. In big multinationals, a director or general manager must have the general knowledge of the activities and operations of all departments. With this you can easily coordinate them in order to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Quality control principles requires that a manage detects impending problem and act swiftly to bring it under control. THE BEST WAY TO LEAD IS TO SET AN EXAMPLE. How do you set an example if you do not have the knowledge? In political leadership, a president is expected to be highly educated with robust personnel management skills. He must also understand governance. Education is not just going to the school to acquire certificates. Education broadens someones thinking ability. It improves your cognitive evaluation and behaviour. It equips you with 21st century skills and promotes excellent comminication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Your approach to task and conflict resolution is enhanced by education. In fact education makes you a problem solver. You are not expected to be an all-rounder but you ought to know what exactly is expected from the people you manage. You cannot do this if you are an illiterate. |

My advice for the planned publication:
1. Let it be a plea and nothing but a plea. We have to beg DPR Management and The petroleum ministers (Buhari and Ibe Kachukwu) to help us and bring the recruitment to a successful end.
2. We should not say anything to implicate Mr. Ahmad Rufai Shakur and Mordecai Ladan. It is wrong to spit on the plates that you eat from.
3. In our own interest, we must not accuse DPR of nepotism.
4. We MUST use corrier service and deliver the letter to the two major players instead of going public.
In summary, the essence of the publication is that we have waited for too long (2 years). It is almost 4 months since the first batch were contacted and we beg them to release the remaining appointment letters.
Most importantly, we MUST deliver this letter privately to the two major players, Alhaji Rufai Shakur and Mordecai Ladan via corrier service instead of going public. |

Ferguson0709: Dear BrockSamson, I want to raise few issues here and I want you to objectively and critically look at every angles to it. 1. Not all those interviewed will get the job 2. It's not possible for a recruitment of this magnitude to be 100% merit except if we want to deceive ourselves, if I'm wrong Buhari's daughter will not be in NNPC and those who voted for him running after NPower 3. Not everyone objecting your protest has a godfather or is an SH candidate. Some people still want to give DPR the benefit of doubt, hence, their persistence. 4. Majority of hopefuls here depends on Marvel's info cos they believe he's in the know and he said the new list is imminent. Reason why people are asking you to back down on your alleged protest. 5. If you still think you have been cheated and the protest and publications is the best way to seek redress, kindly go ahead with it. I wish you all the best, who knows it might be for our own good in the end. BUT please make sure you explicitly explain that this action is a decision of you and some others and kindly be bold enough to put your NAMES AND REF NOS there. Good luck my friend I am just laughing. Sir Ferguson, the publication is the best option now. It seems you have already checked your name and you are sure that you are successful. What happens for those who are just waiting hopelessly? When exactly will they release the appointment letter? Today? Tomorrow? Next month? Next year? Next ten years? And Marvel65 has disappeared which implies that his job is over. |

it happens a lot in Italia
Foster parents training the blacks from day 1 not to be black
you get my point Scientifically speaking, there are potentials inherent in an organism as a result of genes (DNA). These traits can be influenced by the environment. However, the environment itself doesn't confer a trait in an organism automatically. Natural Evolution takes millions of years. In genetics, we talk of domestication which people don't really understand. Briefly, it has to do with transforming a wild organism into an almost entirely new organism that can adapt at home. This takes millions of years as the new environment has to gradually interact with the gene thereby modifying it. It must interest you to know that the organism can never lose its entire genome. This is why DNA test is still applied to indentify the origin of a man. Lukaku is from DR Congo and he looks like them. Pogba is there and many other examples. The DNA is still the repository of genetic information. It determines even intelligence. |
Politics › Re: Meet Major General Rogers Ibe Nicholas: Leading The Nigerian Army Against Shekau by Polchiz(m): 10:07pm On Feb 08, 2018 |
Ugosample: Environment plays more role than genetics.
Simple and short
An Albanian raised in Canada is a Canadian as a Canadian with German parents
But in Africa, due to stupid strong tribal identities, people like you can think the way you do.
Environment shapes people Stop writing history and talk science. Can a bird lose totally its ability to fly because it was raised in an environment where there are no trees? Nobody is doubting the role the environment play in the phenotype of an organism. However even the environment has to alter the gene before it can manifest. Food is considered an environmental factor but no amount of food can make Buhari grow as fat as Papa Ajasco. When two African parents gave birth to a child in England, does the child automatically become an English man in all ramification because he was born and raised in English soil? Alteration of DNA sequence due to environmental factors is what people don't really understand. |

belovedaja: This publicity is unnecessary from my point of view. Nigeria army is nigeria army and not igbo army. If there was no marginalization, if there has been Fair play and equity. This publicity justify and reveals that there is indeed marginalization of the Igbo's in all sector of Nigeria.
Besides this the best of my knowledge can not be called Igbo. Someone who have spent less than 0.5% of his life in Igbo land and was not born there or schooled there, neither does or has business there can not be Igbo indeed. Go ahead and kill yourself. He is Igbo, the governor of Borno also called him Igbo and acknowledged his efforts. In science, what makes an individual is the gene and environment. An Hausa man who has lived most part of his life in Enugu can never be an Igbo man. The gene must play its role. And yes, the gene plays the major role in terms of cognitive ability, bravery and intelligence. |
