This only happens on Nigeria...
I don't think we operate a sane society any more, if it were to be Dino vs Tinubu... Some women would stage a protest....
These people are being punished for asking for basic amenities and staging a peaceful protest. Nothing more!... Well all I would say is karma is a bitch... |

gunther6: Congratulations everyone that got their visa's hi2chuxy and the rest. Abeg don't come here without money o within a week wey I don dey here I don see walahi. I have probably spent more in this week than probably in any other week in my life.
First don't eat out, I'm talking Restaurant( fancy and not so fancy) , buffet , Chinese takeout, Popeye, dunkin donuts you will be hard pressed to get a decent meal for less than $15 if you now live somewhere with a sales tax(which I find particularly annoying) . I mostly ate out and ordered pizzas , wings and shii and my dollar reserve is bleep bleep thank God its August and I can finally use my card, but I'm learning how to cook now.
Second if you are a shayo master abeg drop your thirst in Lagos, I swear it is expensive here. The day wey I first land I dey do big boy I declare two Jack Daniels for boys and 24pk Heineken, the two with sales tax costs nearly $190+. Afterwards I have stuck with just Smirnoff you can get a 3ltr Smirnoff for like $30, if you can cut alcohol, cut it not me with this early morning cold it does get warm later in the day.
Again have fun while you're young don't be a slave to the dollar maybe I'm naive and will be disavowed of my lofty notions later... Just maybe Softwork!!!... Chop life baba!!!!! |

slyopez: She doesn't need to know zoo anthem afterall she's Biafran.
She can recite this countless times, my darling biafra nation.
" Land of rising sun, we love and cherish, Beloved homeland of our brave heroes; We must defend our lives or we shall perish, We shall protect our hearts from all our foes; But if the price is death for all we hold dear, Then let us die without a shred of fear.
Hail to Biafra, consecrated nation, O fatherland, this be our solemn pledge: Defending thee shall be a dedication, Spilling our blood we’ll count a privilege; The waving standard which emboldens the free Shall always be our flag of liberty.
We shall emerge triumphant from this ordeal, And through the crucible unscathed we’ll pass; When we are poised the wounds of battle to heal, We shall remember those who died in mass; Then shall our trumpets peal the glorious song Of victory we scored o’er might and wrong.
Oh God, protect us from the hidden pitfall, Guide all our movements lest we go astray; Give us the strength to heed the humanist call: To give and not to count the cost’ each day; Bless those who rule to serve with resoluteness, To make this clime a land of righteousness." Anthem or Battle cry? |

MEGAWATCH: I HAVE SAID THIS, AND I WILL KEEP SAYING IT. THERE COMES A TIME WHEN THE NIGERIA POLICE OFFICERS WILL PUSH NIGERIANS TO THE WALL, NIGERIANS WILL START KIKLING THE POLICEMEN DAILY. THE EARLIER THE POLICE REALIZES THIS THE BETTER FOR THE COUNTRY AS A WHOLE, NOBODY HAS THE MONOPOLY OF WICKEDNESS AND VIOLENCE. The earlier the police realize they are just a tiny spec in the entire population, it might be too late |

I think it's time spy cameras are used on these folks, if you want to enter trouble, have Kik on your phone, or use a Vpn on your phone, or mistakenly greet your friend on what's app '' how far G'' you'll explain the meaning of G, they go as far as carrying you to station, they have a cafe there, you'll login your Facebook, yahoo mail, Gmail and other stuff..
You'll chop mighty huge slaps if you mistakenly have white folks as Facebook friends, they'll check your spam and even trash folders..
Nigerian police, they should just drop out and apply to work with efcc
If you are with a pc, they can go as far as checking your browser history, all your documents, if you mistakenly visit sites like text now, haywire, scout, tagged, or Craigslist... Dead and gone... Your money na 100k. They don't want to hear explanation
Microsoft and Google should just employ our jobless police folks who intrude on people's privacy because social media is no longer social to them, you can only socialize with your naija folks |

Fortissimo: I left employment 7 months before my visa interview. I stated same on my ds160 and was also asked about it during my interview.
@all, take generic advice you receive on NL carefully. We all have different circumstances. It's not one cap fits all.
By the way, my reason was because I wanted to concentrate on my graduate school plans. For me, that shows a serious and extremely focused prospective student. Possibly other factors were at play, but I desperately needed that mental space to deal with my grad school applications and probably more importantly, begin to immerse myself back into Chemistry after being out of it for 5 years.
Another of my former colleagues who is in University of Tulsa now, resigned 4months or so to his interview date.

Now I don't believe anything I see on nairaland, it's more of a site that misinforms more... Nigerian news, fake news makes it to front page, I can imagine international news, cooked up sh*T....
You combined pictures of people jubilating just to make FP, meanwhile some people in Turkey are happy over the coup....
For cogent international feeds, my advice don't use nairaland... Even twitter is okay, just change your trend location |
