donfortune48: Without surge on bolt, it won't reach that amount. Don't mind Pearl1910. @Pearl1910 as much as I wish my bolt and uber is up and kicking now. A 1.4 surge can't still b compare to indriver on a normal good day, we've been there and done did it. Those days of fixing 3MB, if you take a trip of 3 to 4hrs to magodo phase 2 on a surge of 1.5 is 5k and they will still remove 25% and you will b left with 3.750k. The only time you will get 7 to 9k doing 4hrs is on 1.9 to 2.0 surge and take away 25%, what's the difference? I'm heading home, took someone along my route, prolly 10 mins away from my doorstep for 4500 (that's even d last option on d bidding range after dragging for almost an hr) and the commission is willingly, what else do u think I should long for? You said with fuel, do u use water for urs? |

InfinityEstates: In my own opinion, if a driver is going to be kept waiting for more than 5mins, he should be told about it. But we know that would never happen. What you'll hear is, "I'll be right down". And then when you call after 5mins, you'll hear, "Oh, are you here already? Don't worry you'll see me now."
For me, the only time I'll wait for more than 5mins is if; i. It's a long trip. ii. It's a 'good destination' (Good road network + No traffic). iii. It's a surge trip (preferably 1.9 ) iv. Everywhere is dry (Not more than 10mins on this one).
Bottom line is, when requesting a ride you can actually see the number of drivers in your vicinity. If there are lots of drivers in your area, and you are not ready, don't request, as a driver may just be at your gate already. You just said it like a true driver, you do what works for you. We all can wait for 20, 30 mins as long as the trip is everything. I think everything both bad and good works for a purpose. My driving style these days is more of the lazy driver type, mainland to island, 3 or 4 trips on the island, then back to mainland, so I have enough room to give riders time to mess up outside my first and last trip pending on traffic situation and we all know early morning riders barely take time, it's that aunty queeneth that is going to the mall or want to go see one man that will take all d time in the world and still bring make up kit to the car. I've nurse the tot of removing that up mirror they use to pull and caught them of guide let me see if that will make them end the trip or they will stretch neck to view from side mirror. Sometimes I give them time to mess up to the point of them not even believing it. Awww! U r not angry I took ur time, so cute! Me we just b looking like, madam free me, I don't need someone to spoil my day or mood, I just want to focus on what I set out to achieve and from there convo starts, we both enjoy our trip. But for those that we enter, no sorry, no courtesy, just bone face and b pressing phone. May d gods help them to forget something in the car, whatever binds us is from pick up to destination, after that nothing concerns me with what they forgot, they should find their way to get it, ain't moving an inch for manner- less folks. |

deedee44: As in.. I always wonder if they are even serious about embarking on the trip. Over 1 hr you will still be seeing the same request from the same person Indriver is a crazy app, can b use for different purpose and a ride is never actual on Indriver. Some has taken 2k from island to ikeja and won't stop trying from the moment they are set to enter the bathroom, till they are ready, that's when they will accept a reasonable price. Some book ahead before traffic, cos they know the price will shot up and keep you waiting till when they are ready. We get sense for this country nah our forefather's sins just they disturb us |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by pope191: 6:20am On Jun 12, 2021 |
radautoworks: davit, let me tell you why some people order ahead. Sometimes it can take up to 20-30 minutes for a driver to arrive and you have no idea before you book what it will be.
E.g. in the US it usually takes 2-7 minutes to get a ride so I usually book about 5 minutes before I think I'll be ready. When I went to Italy, I did the same and had to wait almost 40 minutes past midnight for a ride!! From then, the whole trip I would order 15-30 minutes before I was ready. I suspect that is what is happening. Some people (especially ladies) are anticipating waiting a long time in an undesirable place and taking measures to avoid that. Exactly what I want to say when I'm up... we should cut riders some slack, 10 mins wait is not bad. The only difference here for me is the wait on Indriver e.g early morning trip from mainland to island or close hour trip where a rider books a ride from 4:35 cos he or she knows by 5pm everywhere will be red and now the driver gets there 3 mins after booking. Meaning driver have to wait till 5 and end up doing trip that's is supposed to be 1 hr for 2 hrs, that's not fair. having said this, I feel drivers should take that waiting time of a thing easy and understand from the view of the riders if it's not intentional, If riders can wait for 10, 15min's for drivers to arrive, so what's the big deal if a driver is found at the other end? The only thing I tell riders and it's because of how volatile indriver can be, is to tell them the ET to destination and if the changes doesn't commiserate with the price due to delay from them, then I'm sorry, I'll have to abort mission. |

Once it's 3pm, I can only take trips to surulere or Yaba and go home.
If I no see reach 4pm (only when I'm on the mainland) I'm blowing home empty.
I was at MM int'l 3pm today. Map was showing me 45mins to go from int'l Airport to local Airport. 32mins from int'l Airport to Ajao estate, I just enter express, blow down to Cele and connect home. Can't really tell much about today's traffic, except for my last trip vi to berger spend like 3 hrs and I took the trip for 4500. Both of us have been dragging the price from 3200 for like 1 hr. I don't know why riders do that, they will b on one particular price for minutes/hr. |

northbird: Indriver peeps, avoid Mobolaji Bank Anthony trips inwards ikeja. Same Indriver riders r abusing, just air your mind and wake to 1 star the next day. I couldn't drive today, 3 hrs traffic from V.I to mainland shut me out today, the stuffs I have to put up with riders yesterday was that bad. Started out from first request, rider booked a ride from Berger bus stop to Lekki, I drove down to Berger bus stop, a lady approach the car as if I pulled over to pick pessangers to VI and I wave my hand in the no no way. Rider spot me and was approachin, I didn't know what he and the lady that approached the car earlier talked between few seconds, only for me to unlock the door and the 2 hopped into the car. Me: sorry I don't pick unknown person like that Rider: who told u she's unknown? Me: are both of you going to the same destination Rider: crack a smile, she will drop at VI Me: Oga both of u should get down from my car please Woke up to see 1 star, had to call him back this morning and ask if there's any atom of sense left in him, cos if he have no one to tell him, I will. Where does he place safety measure, or does the car belong to him? Does he even think in his right sense to notify me about the third party or he just think he has the right to control me, because he booked a ride. The last ride from V.I to Ijayi housing estate, rider won't let me use map all beacuse she wants to get food, I didnt answer her like 3 times and decide to give her sense of belonging for the 4th time only to get stuck in traffic, spent 3 hrs on this trip and the nonsense girl lack courtesy, what do I expect? 4 trips with 3.8 rating tells a lot about her. Already about to get home when she called that she left a phone cord in the car, I confirmed it and she said, when will u bring it in my mind: is like u want to b unfortunate; told her to find a way to locate me and get her cord, if she's thinking of me driving down back to her house, then she have to wait till the day I"m around that area. I wish my uber is active in time like this, not all this 1.5k trip inside flood, like the one I got from Agungi to phase 1, tried to rush down to pick rider, see flood almost half of the car. |

dru23: Those in Army uniform have limited power .. Just because na army does not mean he will get his way ....make I gist my own.......
Few months ago when I was in the country .... We got a call from one of my uber driver.. The driver enter 1 way road .
And the road safety or lasma whatever they call themselves.. So they told the driver that he has enter 1 way road ... Na so the driver they fight with them back and fourth.. Claiming he knows his right etc ..instead of the stupid driver to settle these guys small change na he was forming tough man and dragging with them etc...
Na so road safety crew carry my honda civic to their station... Once it got to their station they said that for them to release the car we go pay 100k naira etc .. That once they enter the information into the system the car will be auction etc ... Meanwhile driver is fighting with them etc .. Driver called us and explain to us what was going on .. Driver said make we no worry he get Army friend. ... Driver call his army friend to the garage ... The Army guy arriving trying to flex his muscles .... After army flex his muscle tired and left ..na so driver called us ....... Lucky for me one of my friend knows the top Oga at the garage or station .. He made a phone call to the Oga ...my people got their and the driver was sweating looking dumb and stupid... My people went to the Top Oga saw spoke to the Oga within 5 minutes matter was settle .... He said make we pay 100k and we go avoid the car getting auction off .... Na so we pay the money 100k naira and car was release ....... It is more profitable for them to auction out the car than for us to pay that 100k naira...
So my point here Army power get limit.. Just because you know army does not mean that they will be able to ride people in situation.... In civil matter army get no power etc ...... If you see the level of confidence the driver had because of his army friend.... He was so embarrassed that Army friend no fit do anything at all ..
The only regret I have is that I didn't fire the driver after that incident .. My team advice me that I should let the driver pay off the 100k naira by him paying extra 5k weekly...... The driver only paid about 20k naira before dropping the car ... The driver still owning me over 60k naira till today .. Driver promise to pay till date we no hear from driver....... This is why in this business you can't show no pity to anyone.. It is a doggy eat dog business .......but like always dru23 will always prevail Is the person Felicity? Just asking if we have to cut exemption or b watchful of such driver. I guess that's part of the reason we r here.

adolphus08: Dear colleagues, believe it or not e hailing in Nigeria is slave labour not to be used as a permanent source of income. Considering the risks and stress. Make sure whatever you get from it is fuelling your escape plan. Even their bonuses are useless. Whenever they realize you are hitting your target. They start sending you long pickups. As if challenging you to cancel. I usually pickup and tell the person how far I am and he will cancel. But if you meet some wicked babes they will insist you come then cancel when u are half way there. Just yesterday I got a pickup if 17 minutes. Outside the radius I set. I just gave up and didn't answer. But the recent issue is how do you guys protect your tyres and suspension now that we are entering rainy season? Two days back I had to drop a rider in a flooded place and my back left tyre was punctured in two places. This evening I passed through a flood and dropped a rider. As soon as we exited the flood I heard my front left tyre hissing. I came out to meet it flat. I suspect it's even damaged. The rider fee of 1.8k minus bolt commission and my fuel is nothing compared to the cost of getting another tyre. So please do you guys have any tips for reducing maintenance cost during rainy season? Especially tyres and shock absorbers. Yes it is slavery to some point, but try to get your kick before it all nosedive. Things are truly hard in these country right now and I honestly don't know how many people that survive purely on honest means without undercover. Don't know how many people that receive 250k per month in this country, but ordinary mini flat, is edging towards 500/600k per year, most ppl now combine money to rent house, just to tell you is not easy anywhere as tot. |
