GEJ tried buh failed... should we allow him to repeat such failure for another 4 yrs?

m just sick & tired
Oga wa Mr Sense.

You guys are frantically defending this Buhari when in fact your defenses have further implications. ‎

This is what one of your 'best' lawyers (Festus Keyamo) put up in one thread...

“The Law on d entitlements of former Heads of State says they're entitled to 3 cars each to be changed by d FG every 4 years + other benefits.”

Adding that “The cars given to former Heads of State are ppties of d F.G as they must be returned & replaced every 4 yrs. They can't be declared as gifts.”
What do you have to say to that?

Your lawyer has rightly pointed out that Buhari cannot list these vehicles as his assets.

It looks like he is saying Buhari maybe guilty of illegal conversion of government property to his own.

How do you see it?

Politics › Re: Fashola Calls For A Change In House Rent Collection System In Nigeria by porka: 3:41pm On Dec 16, 2015
The one he spearheaded in Lagos led to landlords increasing their rents while agency and legal fees also doubled - rents that cost N100,000/annum (N200,000/two years) before Fashola's one year maximum rent law were swiftly increased to N150,000/annum.

It is one thing to pander to the masses after many anti-people policies in the last one month, it is another thing to further pit the same masses against each other in a class war (landlords vs tenants).

Does Fashola have a house where he is collecting the rents in arrears? Where exactly has this type of rent collection system work that operate a similar financial system to Nigeria's?

By the time Buhari is done with his mediocre presidency, almost all Nigeria's institutions would have been bastadized and destroyed.

As it stands now, Nigerian banks have been labeled as corrupt and unworthy of any legitimate transactions by Buhari and his media propaganda while the CBN has been directly accused of corruption by Lai Mohammed without regard to the negative implications of such tags.

It is not out of place for the Office of the NSA (or Ministry of Defence) to purchase bullet proof vehicles for ex-Heads of State. Don't forget the report says "out of security vote", not out of arms procurement budget.
It is the duty of the FG to protect ex-Heads of State.
What is out of place is the ONSA settling political campaign bills!
Luru should not be mixed with sapati.

Copied from Jarus' wall

You people continue to spin from one non fact to another.

Where in the court record was Dasuki accused of using 'arms procurement budget'?

Where in the charges is there a mention of any procurement?

The charges are in the public domain now. Dasuki has not been charged for misusing any 'arms procurement budget' (at least not this one) please get educated.

Don't just rush to kill an accuse, you may be committing murder. Scrutinize everything before you make your judgment. Any rational person would know that Dasuki as the NSA manages funds for security purposes.

'Arms procurement budget' or whatever you people call it is a figment of your imagination.

You've already hung him at the stake before spinning your justifications. It's immoral.

They can still get Dasuki jailed if they want to, provided he is found wanting for some unlawful deeds, but demonizing him this way is very evil. There will always be someone on that seat, we should not play politics with National Security of Nigeria. It's dangerous.

When has giving FULL account of an NSA's stewardship become an issue

When an NSA has been subjected to endless and vicious public trial and pummeled by uninformed citizens just for doing his job, why is ts a crime to take all issues holistically beyond selective mob jungle action?

He is now giving full accounts of his works a problem.

That's what you get when you chose to politicize the National Security of a country.

Who does that?

The national security of any country should be greater than any partisan consideration.

By the time Dasuki starts talking properly, different from EFCC sources, many of our government security operations would be in jeopardy.

Many government informants would have been exposed and security compromised.

And by the time the consequences start manifesting, they should take full responsibility for what they have caused.

4C2215131:
Me thinks, FG is trying to err on the side of caution. What do I mean? Sell well above acceptable market price now (btw, now is the best time to remove subsidy given the state of "crude oil affairs"-it's selling at an all time low right now, so subsidy removal wouldn't bite too hard as ideally PMS should be selling for even less than N87 right now-market don fall press the thing na!) and be protected when market forces actually push the price up to N97. Given that the product has been accepted at N97, there wouldn't be any uproar from the pocket of the populace who are already used to buying it at N97 and who may not even know the workings of the market as it affects the price of PMS.
Every time you armchair analysts do your mumbo jumbo analyses you end up looking pathetic.

You have been making conjectures since Buhari came in and then end up going offline every time yet you won't stop.

Crude oil is not selling at an all time low price. It's selling at $36-$38 per barrel currently and those are not all time low prices in any way. Crude oil once sold for $8 per barrel during Shagari's administration.

'Ideally' does not explain the economics of fuel pump price. PPPRA's calculations are different from your own 'ideally' conjecture.

And if Buhari's government knows that fuel price should be below N87 it would have reduced it long ago. Buhari would have been the first person to announce it to the world.

Why are you people too eager to deceive yourselves? Even what Buhari is not thinking about, you will attribute to him. Is that not foolishness?
Politics › Re: Fuel Subsidy To Go Next Year. FG To Sell Petrol At 97 by porka: 9:15am On Dec 15, 2015
4C2215131:
Technically it isn't. Given time (when the market stabilises hopefully), and local refineries are up and doing, we just might buy PMS for N50/litre.

Hopefully (yes I know, so much "hopefully" in my projections, but it's not impossible. Things may get worse before it gets better).
You people base your hope too much on magic.

Check the PPPRA's website, even if all oil are refined in Nigeria the pump price would still be above 80 naira per litre.

Education is better than wishful thinking.

If this report is credible then I think we have been very unfair to this government judging from the comments read so far.

I am very impressed that while subsidy is removed,we will still be buying at 97naira and that i believe is not only fair but very commendable if we juxtapose this to the wickedness of the former president who woke up on the first of January 2012 to announce over 100% increase in pump price and that act alone gave me the pointer that he is a very wicked and clueless president that despite the huge cost of crude at that time, he still had the mind to inflict such pains on the electorates and i can remember how many people who traveled home were stranded.

I say once again, kudos to the Buhari led government and we appreciate.
Don't be a f00l.

Subsidy is now 10 naira per litre even when the oil price is $38 per barrel.

How would they have increased it beyond 97 naira.

I am shocked at your comment. You do not accuse people without relying on facts. Are you on her timeline on Twitter? The campaign is still on, meetings are still held. She has also publicly challenged and encouraged the Buhari administration to find the girls and as you can observe the Army is doing its best scanning the entire sambisa forest to bring back this girls if they are still alive.

Now, in your own capacity, what have you done for those poor girls? Rather you criticize someone who is pressuring the government to carry out its responsibility. Very well I say this without any form of malice that you are an insensitive and wicked Nigerian and you contribute to the problem in this country.

Your thought process is wicked and if you have the privilege to serve the public, I can confirm you would not be different because those who oppose your policies would be seen as enemies. You are a disgrace to civility and human kind.
Publicly assailed and humiliate Jonathan (with fake Chibok 'parent(s)').

But publicly challenged and encouraged Buhari.

Double standard.

I respect this woman a lot. If not for her group the chibok girls would mean nothing to we, wicked and selfish Nigerians. It is not easy fighting and pressuring the government to do the right thing, especially when such government only think about how they can make quick cash gains.

I have said previously and continue to say it - we are victims of our own circumstances. Our nonchalant attitude is irritating. We adore corrupt politicians and hold them in high pedestal. We admire wrong people and consider them our Heros. Why won't politicians ignore their civic and responsible duties and continue to steal from the treasury.

May I remind insensitive Nigerians that this woman can be like us - insensitive to the plight of our nation, ignore the ills of society and live a comfortable life abroad - just like Ngozi is doing right now. She chose to fight in her own way, to fight and put our wicked government in check. We need more people like her and not pastors who still frolicks and dine with corrupt politicians.

Perhaps because the bail out funds were not grants but simply lines of credit (a form of loan).
I doubt that there there is any requirement for the president seek approval for mere credit. By its nature credit may not even be utilised after it is given.

NASS needs to approve govt spending, but offering credit cannot be classified as spending.
The federal government is a guarantor of those loans though.

Which means should they default on payment the FG is bound to repay.

It's not certain what the law says about FG guaranteeing internal loan , but NASS must definitely approve FG guarantee of states' external loan.

Normally, states' borrowings from the money and capital markets are guaranteed by ISPO issued by the DMO and the Finance Minister, but Buhari's presidency is not a normal one. Firstly, these loans were approved by Buhari himself as the de facto minister of finance for over six months, and secondly, the transactions are between the states and the CBN which makes things even more unusual.

The bailout fund was done openly and not in secret like these other issues so we can debate its legality or otherwise and citizens can even go to court. Also the elected representatives of the people in the Natioanal Assembly are aware and have the opportunity to raise objections.
The CBN Act establishes the CBN as Banker to government and empowers it to make loans to ALL tiers of government which is what the bailout money is in part. Part of the bailout money is Excess Crude money which also has queries about its constitutionality and I believe is already before the courts. FG has no authority to maintain excess crude funds without consent of states
Are National Security issues debated openly?

Do you know what the security act says? Is Buhari not spending money on national security now? Are they being debated? Please let us know where the debate is going on.
