Buhari is having HOME TROUBLE this early? That's ominous. Seems nobody believes this guy is SMART enough to lead Nigeria. Well, except... |
bettercreature:You are dancing on the grave of innocent victims of Boko Haram attacks. Human blood is sacred in the sight of God, He will surely avenge the spilled blood. The consequences have far reaching implications on many generations of evil doers and their supporters. Repent! How many Christmases witnessed bomb explosion since 2011? |

DonUjay:Has Buhari freed them now? Knowing that what they did was right according to him, why is he still keeping them? Why not just set free his 'freedom fighters'? |
abimic:But that was how they helped sensationalized and burnished his image to get elected too. |

That's a symptom of a very serious mental health issue. You need to see a physician. |
Laziness! When you are done with educating your children and they are successful will others who don't have the opportunity not tag you (and your children) as 'CABALS'? Mentioning only a few people with pedigree to buttress a questionable hypothesis is an insult to millions of Nigerians who brazed the odds and became a success through their own efforts and the blessing of God. Goodluck Jonathan, Tony Elemelu, Ayo Fayose, Ali Baba, Cosmas Maduka and thousands upon thousands of hitherto ordinary people (and children of ordinary Nigerians) have risen through this same system and have become outstanding in their vocations. You can't teach Femi Otedola who to hire into his organization. He determines how to spend his money. There are other organizations with different policies from his. They reserve the rights to hire who they so wish. Many organizations with such 'elitist' policies have been ran aground by the so-called 'foreign-trained-super-employess/managers' while several companies are thriving even with the "local' hires. Ultimately, the market will determine the fate of every business. Go out and compete. You can't afford be intimidated even before you start. And don't attempt to preach hopelessness to young people. |

How does this work? You received an alert (code) supposedly from Facebook on your phone. A 'young man' called you to send the 'code' to him since he 'mistakenly' used your number. Then you sent your password to him. Is your password the same as that 'code'?? Update: Ok. It seems the 'young man' tried logging in to your account as you forgot your password. A reset password (code) is generated by Facebook which was delivered to the registered number on that Facebook account. To access the 'code' the 'young man' simply asked you to forward the 'reset password' (code) on your account to him and NOT his own as he fraudulent claimed. You innocently thought is his. That's egregious Sorry about that. |
IS IT JJC or CULTURE SHOCK? Is there any human being on this earth who won't experience culture shock when/if s/he gets to an unfamiliar place? Even with the best chaperon by your side, there's bound to be one thing different in that new place from where you are coming from. Similar stories are being told/written by foreigners of their visits to another country but they hardly tag them as 'JJC' stories (the term is suggestive of a low self-esteem). That's hardly a positive mindset of a scholar (except you are a comedian trying to elicit laughter). What is wrong with asking questions about finding your way? How come the hotel staff didn't show you how to switch on the room light and you didn't ask? If you found it difficult asking simple questions on arrival how have you been coping with 'strange' things in your program? Like things that would make you an expert in your field; not just reading and making 65%. It seems you are completely overwhelmed by these 'counting of bridges' to recognize that you are on a higher scholarly pursuit. |
Compare Buhari's current message with Jonathan's when the latter was in office as a president. Compare Jonathan's current message with Buhari's when the latter was out of office as a former head of state. |
adams009:Is that why they should be massacred in their hundreds? Fulani herdsmen block the highways with their cows routinely. They cause traffic gridlocks every now and then, you dare not hurry them lest they pull their 'daggers' at you, yet not a single cow has been killed by the Nigerian army on account of that. 'Aluta' students block the highways every time they have issues with their managements. They vandalize vehicles and cause untold hardships on the road users in the process. Yet, they are dispersed with teargas while 'accidental discharges' are not treated with levity. Often times the affected policemen are discharged from service. Should students be massacred this way now? Should soldiers be drafted to begin shooting students anytime they block the highways now? Are Nigerians so heartless that human lives mean nothing again? Imagine citing a video showing unruly youths on the road to justify the massacre of hundreds of people in far away facilities several hours after the fact. |
biltem:You don't feel bad. You are dancing on their mass grave. |
Both of you write poorly. Is that how they write in Guyana? Nevertheless, Mr. Onoja should relax. It is not that easy to practice medicine or dentistry in Nigeria. In fact it is not easy at all to practice in any medical profession in Nigeria. The medical sector is one of the most regulated sectors in Nigeria. There's no way these guys will just enter the country from Guyana (or anywhere at all) and begin to practice medicine. Medicine and dentistry graduates are subjected to a very thorough licensure process by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). Their acquired skills are put to rigorous tests after which successful candidates are awarded practicing license to operate in Nigeria. It is not only a crime for anyone to practice as a doctor or dentist without a license by the MDCN, it is also a crime for any medical facility or organization to engage the services of an unlicensed person(s). While it is not out of place to 'alert' the country on what you think is a potential danger to the Nigerian society (irrespective of your MOTIVE), it is better to appreciate the robust regulatory standards, instruments and institutions already in place to prevent and sanction such infractions. |
dammytosh:Your analogy is unsuitable in this context. The federal, state and local governments do not have a fiscal relationship like a family unit. The financial relationships between the tiers of governments is clearly written in black and white, the so-called 'head' does not have any rights to withhold the finances of the other units. This much was well established by the Supreme Court in Lagos/Tinubu vs FG/Obasanjo case. Nigeria is governed by the constitution and extant laws which does not support any 'husband' from saving any money for the 'rainy day' on behalf of 'wives or children'. The excess crude account was challenged by the Governors Forum and not a few opinion leaders supported the challenge then. They argued that the constitution of Nigeria does not not have a provision for 'saving for a rainy day' by the FG on behalf of the states and LGs. In place of that, the FG enacted a law which established the Sovereign Wealth Fund but which must be funded by the contributions of all the tiers of government. There's absolutely nothing any dictator can do about the 'sharing'. The governors used the opportunity of minimum wage increase (leading to an increase in their wage bill) to justify their 'sharing appetite' which had a wide support among the labour unions and civil society people at the time. |
SweetSoup:It's yours to figure out, Ogbeni. If you are still fixated about votings that ended more than 8 months ago, then you are entitled to your fantasy. |
Gbawe:You have bought a market now, how you deal with it is yours to figure out. If you need help you seek for help. But no one will allow you to turn fact on its head. We have seen how you were jubilant about the amount that have been 'recovered' and the 'wastage' that have been blocked, yet we are witnesses to how 'computer crash' always happen at the end of the month whenever salaries are due for payment. |
Gbawe:It began to nosedive when Buhari and his directionless government took over. When everyone seeking foreign exchange suddenly became a 'thief and money launderer' (courtesy of the only ONE with INTEGRITY in Nigeria). When every small business owner doing his/her thing in a corner suddenly found it difficult to keep up with the supply of basic components of his/her business. You are probably not a business owner and perhaps don't know what SMEs mean. Your best bet is to ask your neighbors, friends or pick a newspaper and read. When we talk of SMEs, we are not referring to O'YES labourers cutting grasses on the highway in Osun. |
dammytosh:Who approved the recent 'bailout' for state governors? That person must be the most 'visionful' leader ever. |
vicadex07:No, they didn't pull a gun. They applied what is known in democracy as political 'pressure'. It is a weapon used in NORMAL societies. You don't have to be a suicide bomber to achieve your aim in a democracy. |
olabukola: It is very difficult for humans to admit failures. It is even more difficult for we black people. Instead of acknowledging that they miscalculated and seek for help they want people to just keep quiet and watch them do further damage to Nigeria's economy and minds. No one will allow anyone to run away from their responsibility. Their best efforts have not yielded any tangible results and they can't acknowledge that they overwhelmed by the tasks. Instead of coming clean to Nigerian people, they want to somehow find one excuse or another for their failures. |
vincent10:Don't mind these people. They are frantically looking everywhere for excuse to justify their bad choice. When the Governors Forum was busy blackmailing the federal government with the support of some of their lawyers, they kept mute. Now that they have seen what their foolish actions have yielded they into they quickly turned to revisionist mode. |
Gbawe:Your submissions above have no basis in fact. From every known record available, SMEs witnessed tremendous growth in the last 16 years than any time in the history of Nigeria. Records also indicate that there was significant growth in middle class in Nigeria in the last 16 years. |
@Kagame Plus, the increment in workers' salary from N5,500 minimum wage to N18,000 minimum was responsible for an increase in recurrent expenditure. Infrastructure spending - Railways, roads, power transmission lines, universities, AIRPORTS upgrade, etc. @Op This government and its supporters based their CHANGE on WRONG assumptions. |
