deji15:They did not withdraw the budget but published bogus figures on the 'Budget Office' website? Laying a budget (containing unconscionable figures) on the floor of the National Assembly in the full glare of the whole wide world and causing the 'Budget Office' to publish another version with different figures on their website is a SCAM. It is a criminal offense. |
By this withdrawal of the insane reckless spending proposal on frivolities and possible replacement with the same overall figure, it would mean that they merely redistributed the budgeted monies to be stolen. This is the greatest scam in the history of Nigeria We recall that Patricia Etteh was forced to resign as the Speaker of the House of Representatives over something like this which figure was not up to 1/thousandth of this grandest scam. |
SHAME! This criminal act must not be allowed to go without any recompense. This is an admission of guilt. The senate should go to the root of this crime against Nigeria and meet out appropriate sanctions on those culpable. An impeachment proceeding should commence as appropriate. |
This is just the beginning, by the time they leave, most of our institutions will be so battered that they would be difficult to recognize. |
otiigba1:Was he even so good as an army general? He was overthrown effortlessly even while he had a credible intel (by his own admission). |
This is how far a NEPA bill can take you. When people asked you to prioritize your functions and allocate a larger proportion of your time to the economy, you said you must do what you have been nursing to do for 35 years. When people who know a little more than you advised that you look in the direction of what concerns almost 99.5% of the population [in the present] while you pursue your LIFETIME AMBITION of 'jailing corrupt people', you responded with even more platitudes. Unfortunately, you surrounded yourself with mediocres who are too scared to confront you, people who are too excited to be called 'ministers' than giving you quality advise. And the results are there for everyone to see. Corruption has gone up more than 100,000%, [we now have a FORGED BUDGET] designed to be stolen [THEY HAVE DO IT FROM THE ROOT] even when fundings are going to come from borrowings, UNDER YOUR WATCH. Even achieving your LIFETIME DREAM as a 'jailing president' is not coming off. You can't even pull it off. Suspects are still not taken to court. Those taken to courts are not being diligently prosecuted. The people surrounding you are deceiving you. Nobody runs an economy by BEGGING. Ngige is a medical doctor, he knows more than that, he won't retain his doctors and nurses if there are no patients in his hospitals or if the patients don't pay. Even the doctors won't stay. Have you checked the foreign embassies lately? Nigerians are checking out in droves. We are back to the Andrew is Checking Out days. Do you know what it means? It signifies a COMPLETE LACK OF CONFIDENCE IN YOUR GOVERNMENT. Even people praising you up and down are leaving. And have you checked our embassies abroad for the number of visas they have issued since you came in for comparison with other times? Your government doesn't present any opportunities for any foreign business to explore. The regulatory risk is too high. Policies flip-flops are rife. Uncertainty is the order of the day. They can't easily take their PROFITS back home. And they are not running charities. No one prays to work and not reap the reward of his labour. Nigeria is bigger than what you can handle at this time. And that's the TRUTH. |
How many Boko Haram do we have in Nigeria? Were we not told that one Boko Haram has been decimated? Why is the UK military coming to train Nigerian troops on tackling a decimated terrorist group? Why will they waste their time and human, material and financial resources on a non existing threat? |
Is budget FORGERY part of change? |
It is better to appeal to Buhari to quietly resign at this point. This current scandal is just the tip of the iceberg. What this man will do to Nigeria sooner or later, even the most irrational follower of his will be ashamed. To Buhari's supporters, it is now time for you guys to swallow your pride. The man you supported does not have the capacity to lead Nigeria at this period. He doesn't know his left from his right. It is when people don't have anything to offer that they accuse everyone on the street. They will accuse the city wizards and village witches. It should not take this long for any intelligent person to notice changes. There's is not a single positive change in anything so far for over 8 months. Only a change of personalities. Swallow your pride. You guys have made your point. Jonathan is gone. He won't come back again, you don't have anything to fear again. Allow Buhari to take his leave honorably. As you can see, all these errors are committed by himself. They are unforced. If these unforced errors are this scandalous, what will happen when the real hyenas/vultures of Nigerian politics decide to be on his case. They are just watching your Baba now, they are bidding their time. It's not for anything, it's just courtesy. You will pity him when they show him the stuff they are made of. And he doesn't even have the temperament to play the game. And so they will bait him to misuse presidential powers. He is not fighting any corruption. He can't. How do you explain fighting corruption with doctoring of Nigerian official documents. They have seen his vulnerabilities. He is toast now. And the economy is not even helping matters. He has bankrupted this country within a short time. And has taken off more than half of his supporters' base. |
A simple thing as a letter to the senate president and the speaker of the house of representatives withdrawing the former budget and replacing it with a new one is too much a TASK for Buhari to write? This is serious. Is this how to govern? What is wrong with this country's current leaders? |
123456abc:Shame! One country, three budgets. 1) Buhari's budget. 2) Ita Enang's budget. 3) 'Budget office's budget. |
The economy is not part of the current government's priorities. When they are through with 'looters' their next important issue is the PDP members' defection and the implications on their 2019 'monarchical' aspirations. After then they might have time. For now, the economy is secondary. |
Angry about what? What did he say in English and Hausa. |
Is this an ultimatum? |
These guys are hardly prepared for anything. All they do is blame everyone or everything. When will they take responsibility for what they signed to 'fix'? When are we going to read about strategies and plans of action? Is he going to wage war against the Saudis now? What's the use of blaming the Saudis now? Are we leaving OPEC for good? It is high we exited that organization and determine our own future somehow. |
falseman:So what will they charge him for now? Offense of "disrespect to the office of the president"? Or what? BTW, many Jonathan's criticism were borne out of PERSONAL LOSS and FRUSTRATIONS of the critics than anything. |
Are they the same VIPs that they told us that Buhari has ordered their police escort withdrawn? Which police escorts again? When did they return their escorts? |
Charge people to court and face the economy and Lassa Fever. Enough of this mass hypnotherapy exercise. It may not work beyond a certain time. That time is fast approaching. |
It is Nigeria's structure. It is the structure. Nothing is wrong with Nigerians more than anybody in the world. Human societies are as efficient, strong and virile as the system they are built on. The solution is not superficial CHANGE. Not miracle. Not a strongman. Not a SUPER HUMAN. Not a SINCERE man. Not a dictator. No! Corruption is a symptom. By electing a SUPERMAN some people thought they had solved all the problems. That's like treating ringworm instead of a deadly leprosy. It's the structure, the structure, the structure, structure, structure, structure... People hardly know what is going on until they get to Abuja. But they don't have a grasp of the problem even still, that's why someone feels taking pictures would have helped. If you don't fix the structural crookedness you will just be taking 'pictures'. If you search the archives, you will see that PICTURES taken in 1960s, 1970s won't be different from the ones taken in 2016, except for the people inside. Nigerians, wake up! This is just the tip of an iceberg. Fortunately, there's a National Conference Report that can serve as a starting point. If we begin to implement the report, some of these structural imbalances could be addressed. Perhaps in 20 to 25 years we might begin to see a semblance of a just society. If we don't address this issue, we will just be recycling people and falling for cheap CHANGE. Each person will just be coming with his own 'anti corruption' priorities. Jonathan with his own focus on electoral/political 'corruption'. Buhari with focus on money/treasury 'corruption'. Saraki's agenda could be white-farmers/agricultural 'corruption'. El-Rufai's own focus could be masterplan 'corruption'. Fashola focusing on landscaping 'corruption'. Amaechi's priorities might be militancy 'corruption'. Obasanjo's direction was international affairs 'corruption'. Abacha's onslaught was on the failed banks 'corruption'. But as soon as each one of them leave, the incoming guy simply abandons the earlier plans and concentrate on his own. And all the state's resources will be deployed to prosecute his own 'anti-corruption' agenda. |
Add that to the Lassa Fever outbreak that is claiming tens of lives without any concerted efforts at stopping the spread. |
akinsbaba2015:The reason why intelligent people don't go into mindless outrage is to still be sensible enough to read and filter information properly. It is doubtful if your outrage is allowing you to read simple posts. It is even more worrisome that you don't have the capacity to process basic information. Otherwise, you would have saved yourself of rantings about 3 court cases when one of the cases (alleged illegal possession of A PISTOL) has been under reference here all the while. The more you post here, the more your infantile reasoning is revealed. |
akinsbaba2015:lol... Your 'schooling' is funny. Even when it shows clearly that you are the person being enlightened on civil conducts you are still deceiving yourself shamelessly. Who says you are not entitled to your mindless outrage? If that is what your life depends on, why not? But it doesn't stop people demanding for the right thing to be done. Intelligent people don't lose their minds on hearsay though. The sensible thing to do is allow the law to take it course through open and transparent judicial process. What happens if Dasuki ended up not being guilty, won't you have a heart attack? Nigeria will not descend to lawless autocratic society no matter how you hate to hear that. Take an accused to court for trial, allow him to defend him/herself, if he or she is found guilty he/she is punished accordingly. If found not guilty he/she if discharged. |
akinsbaba2015:You are still mastubating. You didn't know there was anything like an OPEN COURT until now. You haven't seen/heard of an accused pleading GUILTY to criminal charges until you were shown. Yet you still want to continue in your confused state of mind. Buhari should bring his charges and evidence of wrong doings against Dasuki and other in an open court, not the MEDIA. So far, the charges preferred against Dasuki in an OPEN COURT did not mention what the MEDIA has been TRYING him for. Dasuki has pleaded NOT GUILTY to the charges preferred against him so far. Buhari had wanted to TRY Dasuki in SECRET for an alleged POSSESSION OF A PISTOL without permission. Dasuki had rejected a SECRET TRIAL and preferred to be TRIED in an OPEN COURT. Dasuki and others are innocent until proven guilty. That's how civilized societies are run. |
akinsbaba2015:A) open court Law n. A court in session, especially a court in public session in a courtroom, rather than being engaged in proceedings closed to the public, as in a judge's chambers. open court n 1. (Law) a court or trial to which members of the public are freely admitted http://www.thefreedictionary.com/open+court B) Suspect in Abuja bombing pleads guilty http://thenationonlineng.net/suspect-in-abuja-bombing-pleads-guilty/ There you have them, kid. Some things are beyond your capacity. When you come to a public forum, you stay quiet and learn. |
mikeywise:Are they court documents? They are still MEDIA documents. Why not bring the documents to the court? Everyone saw Buhari laid "documents" on the table of the National Assembly last year. Only for the "documents" to be "stolen" in the new year. Is it too hard for Buhari and his government to be TRANSPARENT? |
ayosogunro1:All this long grammar would not have been necessary if Dasuki and others are properly charged in an open court. From what we know, no mention of ARMS "EXTRA-BUDGETARY" sentence in any of the charges preferred against Dasuki at this moment. Dasuki has pleaded NOT GUILTY to the charges preferred against him. What is right is for the government to bring all these "documents" to the OPEN court and allow Dasuki to defend himself. What is wrong is PUSHING "documents" into the media for Dasuki to be tried EXTRA-JUDICIALLY. NOTE: He was once arrested for having CHACHE OF ARMS in his houses only to be charged for possession of AN UNLICENSED PISTOL in the court. And they attempted to cover up with a SECRET TRIAL at the time. |
TonyeBarcanista:Dasuki and the DFA have pleaded NOT GUILTY in an open court. |
emperorchedda:That is a shameful act. That is very very shameful indeed. Does that mean that any document can be stolen and doctored in secret by Nigerian presidency without due process? How will any stakeholder/partner trust any agreement with Nigeria henceforth? How do we citizens trust documents from the presidency? Does it also mean they will use forged documents to prosecute those people they have accused of corruption? This is ROGUE governance. |
tuale4u:It can be adjusted at any point, through due process. Stealing a budget to amend is not tolerable. It's a crime. |
Shame! |
The problem is, if you ask anyone there for the woman they attempted to rob now no one will tell you s/he has seen her. What about asking these guys who they are and why they 'attempted' to 'rob' a woman of her N200k since they can still talk? What about giving these guys the basic first aid treatment and show that Nigerians are humans and not beasts? When the president doesn't believe in the rule of law and hold the judiciary in contempt, the citizens too will take to jungle justice at the slightest 'rumor' of 'armed robbery'. That these guys are still alive is thanks to the training the Nigerian policemen have had since the civilian government started. Now that we are gradually sliding into militarization, the next victims like these guys may be shot without trial. And then any company executive or random citizens walking on the road may just be accused of 'armed robbery' and lynched by the mob. |
