Jokay07:Regardless. The point remains that similar explanations have been made in the past which the current protagonists 'angrily' shutdown as 'nonsense'. Using your previous tactics against you now shouldn't be any big deal to you, because you have used even more vulgar language on someone else in the past. There wasn't any kind of profanity that was too big for the current occupiers of government offices and their angry supporters when they were in opposition. Twitting insane profanity about Jesus Christ by the newly elevated 'Social Media Change Agents' was common then as we saw, and it was just because of the rabid hatred for the people in government at the time. Perhaps if you guys had addressed fundamental issues of that time, things would have been different now. |
Jokay07:But you people did everything humanly possible to avoid going detailed like this previously. When they told you about shut-ins then your response was angrily largely centred on how the past administrations encouraged bunkering. Even when told that the 60% Joint Ventures production costs must be funded by Nigeria you violently shouted in anger to show your disdain for thorough scrutiny. Now that your people are at the other end, it's most convenient for you to start 'displaying your expertise' in oil and gas matters. Everyone is now a 'PhD holder' and an industry expert when Buhari's calculations on mega billions have all but failed to yield anything. By next budget, we are expecting more 'tax and audit' experts to display their newly acquired skills from Harvard on why revenues from 'taxes' failed to meet expectations. |
If/when they release all and it turned out to be Sagay's, what would be your reaction? |
Please pray for Lai Mohammed. It's not ordinary. |
Rikidony: ha ha ha ... They've already started executing the plan by installing a 'puppet government' (ask the Iranian military). Iranians didn't even bother to touch our flag white protesting the massacre of the Shites in Zaria, rather they torched the flags of those countries instead. Till date, no diplomatic or any form of response to that insolence. |
nnachukz:It is the position of many APC members. |
Yimu. Upload the unfiltered audio interview for all to hear. Post the two numbers for us to see. |
They are just wasting Nigeria's money through their incompetence. They are even about to waste over N50b on prospecting for oil in the Chad Basin. At this time of a calamitous fiscal outlook, it is the height of wickedness to throw these amount of monies down the drain. |
TimeManager: If only the APC presidential primary had not been massively 'dollarized', Buhari would have achieved his N1/$1 goal by now. |
Lai Mohammed needs serious prayer and fasting. It's not ordinary. |
Bigprozzie:Ha ha ha ha... Mr. 'Intellectual' fun ra e. Wait till bread is off the market from early 2016. BTW presidents don't rule in a democracy, they simply govern. |
Now they have N2trn sitting idly in CBN with no single economic benefit to the country. They are starving businesses of the needed financing while N2trn is rendered unproductive to the economy, even as they are shamelessly disclosing that they can't rein in the profligacy of the civil servants. At what interest rate is the CBN keeping this money for Nigeria? How much has it earned for Nigeria in your custody, Mr. CBN Governor? |
mbaeeeee:Do you mean Remi Oyeyemi is fake? |
StCapital:Is it not INSANE to convey flammable liquid in a leaking tank? |
Why Is Everyone Ignoring This Inexplicable Fuel Scarcity? Answer. It is because the people called the 'MASSES' are nothing more than few loudmouth political (pseudo-political) individuals who give directions to their worshipers. As long as these MASSES' interests are still being served and they are not disgruntled, the worshipers may even be starving to death and all you hear them say is that 'things would have been worse'. But let the MASSES' interests be on the line, and a mere RUMOR of fuel scarcity could turn the country into Tahrir Square in few hours. Within days, the whole country could be in flames. Many of the MASSES are now stakeholders in the government. The worshipers have their back. |
Food security was also tackled headlong. Even though population grew and in spite of challenges of weather in some part of the country, food supply was maintained at affordable costs. In the same vein, decades of major public health challenges like; Poliomyelitis, HIV/AIDS, Guinea Worm epidemics, VVF and Ebola were given a fight. While Nigeria was widely celebrated for successful handling of Ebola and is currently being considered for a Polio-free status, the incidences of HIV/AIDS and other epidemics have greatly reduced. |
To give real meaning to these figures, the reader is encouraged to look around his/her neighborhood for opening up of brand new settlements. All over the country, new private housing layouts have sprung up in the last sixteen years. Sixteen years ago, only a few houses and perhaps Jakande estates could be found in the entire stretch of Lekki Peninsula. Same with areas like Alakia in Ibadan. In fact, Ibadan and Oyo towns are 'almost' merging. PDP met Abacha Stove and left OANDO and CONOIL gas cylinders. |

omenka:It's a sign of immaturity not to admit you made a mistake. It's only a child that would continue to attempt to cover obvious falsehood with more lies. You didn't oppose the last administration on subsidy removal because of anything but a combination ignorance, programmed thinking, and perhaps hatred. Many of you people said then that there was no subsidy at all. While many others said it was your entitlement. Arguing that Nigeria is rich to subsidize petrol, you brought several figures of petrol pump prices from other jurisdictions to justify your entitlement tales. That was when we 'knew' how much petrol is/was sold in Iran, Venezuela, Gabon, Angola etc. The last administration was the first to identify the unsustainability of petrol subsidy. It was the first to identify those who abused it an charged them to court. It appointed Kolade the chair of SURE-P who did his bits and resigned based on his AGE (he said at 80 years he was done with public service). Kolade subsequently nominated Martin Luther Agwai to Jonathan as his replacement. Again, it's childish to attempt to cover lies with further lies. Ultimately, most lies are uncovered sooner or later. |
They said no company would trade oil on behalf of Nigerian government again. They said government would deal directly with the refineries abroad. They have now APPOINTED OIL TRADING companies. Is there any explanation for this? |
End of first quarter 2016 is around the corner. We shall all be alive to witness the modulation by God's grace. |
“I believe if you are in touch back at home you would have been told that already there is some improvement in power.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/treasury-looters-now-returning-stolen-funds-buhari/ |
O boy, see Turenchi. 'Jagaban' don vex. Mercilessly! |
adconline:Don't mind them Sir. They thought that Nigeria's economy is like Lagos State where you direct LASTMA to confiscate people's vehicles in order to generate 'IGR'. They are now discovering that it's one thing to target MTN for N1trn fine to fund your budget, it's another thing for MTN to be cowed like an average Lagos motorist would. |
mazeltov:You guys are looking for free financial consulting services up and down now that realities are setting in. High level financial services are highly priced. They don't come cheap. What you can do is take these criticisms back to your think tank (if you have any) and thrash them out. He has done well by highlighting the pitfalls in the proposed fiscal framework. You don buy market. Deal with it. |
PapaBrowne:Have they even successfully borrowed the money? Going by the INCONCLUSIVENESS of all their actions, don't be surprised that they find it difficult to even borrow from anywhere. We told them this lady is not the right choice for a finance minister at this point. That position is not for third rate economists, but they won't listen. Add that to the vice president announcing that their government can't be bothered about portfolio investors. He said that nations do not give a damn about the capital market development in any way. That is the Chairman of the Nigeria's Economic Council for that matter. It turns out that they are now going to that same market to borrow to fund their budget. The same budget that their worshipers have been dancing around for, saying it will LIFT THEM OUT OF POVERTY. |
The APC 'adherents' were taken to tasks during the campaigns. They were serially asked about their plans for the economy. What did they think about the dwindling oil revenue? Have they thought through the global oil politics; the US/Saudi Arabia's war on shale oil? What about Iran's nuclear deal (it was still under negotiation then)? How would they respond to China's reported economic decline? What about the oil glut? Have they considered the widely acclaimed diversification efforts in AGRICULTURE and SOLID MINERALS by the Jonathan's government? Have they taken a look at the oil production quota of Nigeria? What about the much applauded successful privatization of PHCN? And the BIGGEST (the most fundamental) of all, the STRUCTURE of governance: the FISCAL administration of the country. It happened that none of these was under any consideration. NONE. Anywhere you found an APC 'adherent' then, you heard something like - 'Nigeria is rich', 'don't tell us Nigeria is broke', 'multiply 2.5m barrels of crude oil by $60 a day and see how much Nigeria is making', 'the amount of money they are stealing in this country ehn', 'it is corruption jooo', 'don't worry 'General' Buhari will collect all the 'looted' funds back', 'he will collect all the private jets in the country and sell them', 'petroleum subsidy is a scam', 'Baba will deal with oil bunkerers', 'all of them will go to jail', 'it is bad governance that causes all' 'remove the thieves and you will see Nigeria will turn to Dubai', 'just watch and see', 'Jagaban is this, sai Baba is that', 'bla bla bla...'. Fast forward to December 2015. APC in government. No policy direction. Lackluster cabinet. Collapsing economy. Foreign exchange crisis. Half of the middle class wiped out. No salary. SMEs closing down. Multinationals downsizing. Banks laying off staff. Bank credit shrinking. Multifaceted security challenges. Unemployment crisis worsening. Capacity utilization reducing. Government exhausted 80% of 2015 budget in September and yet almost all road constructions have stopped. Federal scholarship canceled. Etc. And you tried to engage the few vocal APC 'adherents' left, you are hearing, 'PDP has ruined the economy for 16 years, what do you expect in 6 months?', 'the current budget is Jonathan's, wait for Buhari's budget in January', 'Nigeria needs to diversify from oil', 'Agriculture is better than oil', 'Nigeria don't even need foreign exchange, what are you buying in dollars?', 'Multinationals use foreign exchange for money laundering', 'PDP chiefs stored dollars in their wardrobes', 'Nigerians need to pay tax', 'Nigerians must pay higher for electricity, 'light' is not cheap', 'bla bla bla...'. Next time, don't move near something that you don't have the CAPACITY to deal with. |
Eyah. And MTN that they relied on to fund their N6trn budget has refused to pay. What will they do now? More than 50% of their budget may be borrowed as we are seeing it now. While they have pummeled the last administration for borrowing to 'pay salary' it's looking like they are set to surpass that record - borrowing to feed/welfare program. Next time don't go near what is clearly beyond your capacity. |
Elosky20:Crude oil is sold in dollars all over the world. It's not only in Nigeria. Do you want the South Koreans and Indians to buy crude oil in naira from Nigeria? Where will they get naira? |
gtrust:Why then did he 'declare' federal government property in his ASSET DECLARATION FORM? |
Buhari's N6trn budget o o o |
It is not ironic that many Muslim leaders and followers are falling upon themselves to show how they warned and warned this fellow but no one has been able to show any evidence of similar warning made to Boko Haram's leaders? We didn't see such condemnation of killings and slaughtering of human beings by Boko Haram from fellow Muslims as we are seeing for 'blocking of roads' by El Zakzaky's followers. What is responsible for this? |

The question is when the local economy is comatose, how would the populace buy bonds to borrow the FG money. You buy bonds when there is excess liquidity and you want to save long term. There is no money in the system, hence there is gonna be little or no investment in bonds. Worse still, Nigeria has been taken off the Emerging Markets Bond Index, so no Foreign money coming into our bonds. When that happened, the FG said, to hell with JP Morgan.
