She comes across as a bad mother; buying a Range Rover for a jobless son with little education and probably no useful skills. How will he maintain the car? Emeka Offor, as a father should, expects his son to be a responsible man of his own. Emeka Offor is screwed obviously. Not true. There has never been any real attempt at restructuring Nigeria by any civilian administration. And I don't think any sitting president will agree to restructuring because that will dilute his absolute power.
Our only option would be for the national assembly to do it and pass law that would require the incoming president to implement it, whether he likes it or not.
Restructuring is the only way Nigeria can be saved from disintegration.

The government is talking nonsense. SR do not need to explain further. It's an apartment that they bought. The apartment is part of several other apartments in a large building. Of course General Buratai did not buy the whole building (which contains several apartments).
It's investment property. This type of investment is common in financially developed countries. The issue is not whether they bought the whole building or just an apartment. The issue is that he invested $1.5million which is suspected to be corruptly acquired.

Is there any difference between looting public money and extorting money from the public? It's very obvious that the funds General Buratai used in buying those Dubai properties are proceeds of corruption. Yeah, I know about that book by Walter Rodney. I have to make out time to read it. And I think every one of us should read it. I agree with the general premise of the book about how Africa has been kept backward by the colonialists. But today it is us, the elites, who are under developing Africa.
All the elites do is embezzle money here and transfer to Europe, Asia or North America.
And if any of these people are accused, people take sides based on which ethnic group they belong to. We need to start being objective for a change. We cannot continue to blame the mess we make on colonialists who have done well for their country and themselves. We need to start taking responsibility for our mess.

The information Sahara Reporters provided shows that Buratai bought those properties with illegally acquired fund. If you don't have any problems with that, then you should not criticize other ranking government officials who also acquired expensive properties.

Yeah right. How much have the "colonial bastards" stolen from their countries and deposited in Nigeria? There is rule of law in London. If the mayor of London or prime minister of U.K. is accused of corruption, there is a transparent machinery in place to deal with it. If allegation is true, culprit goes to prison. Over here, the accuser goes to prison. We need to change. We are beyond corrupt. I guess we are fantastically corrupt. With the information Sahara Reporters provided so far on Buratai, in a sane environment, he would be facing thorough investigation and resignation. But here the Army that should be carrying out investigation is already defending him. Shame on us.
