Dogalmighty17: Weldone Nigerian army for this. But really with all the billions allocated for security over the years, I'll love to see our troops in full combat gear, night vision goggles, thermal or heat seeking cameras plus drones overhead that can keep an eye on the enemy and his movement before the troop get there. Combat in the 21st century is about smartness in technology. Why aren't these being leveraged on?
Nigeria's special forces are a complete joke. A major part of the money is embezzled by the Generals, of course. |

omoharry: Now all those idiots that were shouting sai Baba! Calling us wailing wailers back then have all gone mute. Thier arrogance back then was something else! Well, Hunger and hardship knows no tribe nor religion. They foolishly voted Buhari and expected him to perform magic. Then they also went ahead to vote in Tinubu again so that he can continue where Buhari stopped . Now hardship x 2 is what we are all seeing .. we we warned them against voting for these old and incompetent leaders but they felt tribalism can do magic over competence . Well! Here we are back to square one .May God save us till 2027. Well said. |

eerekake: Did Nigerians vote the Tinubu that's ruling us. Our system in nigeria has broken, nothing good is working. Our politicians have eaten up the system with their greed and corruption. Amaechi should go and sit down somewhere. Even if he was rigged in ( and I believe he didn't win but was rigged in), it was Nigerians that carried out the rigging. Every nation gets the leadership it deserves. Nigeria is no exception. |
Politics › Re: Amaechi To Nigerians: Whatever You Voted For Is What You Deserve by poseidon12: 1:09pm On Jan 21, 2024 |
eazzzy1: People vote according to the options they have. Sometimes they have no choice than to vote the least worst person. Excuses galore. So Buhari was the least worst option in 2015 and 2019? And Tinubu was the least worst option in 2023? Political science clearly tells us that every nation gets the leadership it deserves. Nigeria is no exception. It is a fact that when Nigerians go to the polls, their number 1 yardstick is ethnic affiliation. Otherwise, an incompetent tribalist like Buhari would not have come anywhere near Aso Rock. And a morally decrepit criminal like Tinubu would not have been nominated by his Party. |

Brendaniel: If they know how to end it why have they not done it? What are they waiting for? The man is right. They know what to do but they don't have the political will to do it. If State Police and Local Government Police are created, Nigeria will become a much safer place. But the Northern elites do not want local control of the Police because they are afraid they will lose the stranglehold they have on Nigeria and it's crude oil resource. The Southern political elites will not take steps to introduce local control of Police because they are scared of annoying the Northern elites. Without restructuring, Nigeria is a dead end. |

happney65: Yes, lack of more hands in security. We have like one police officer to 20,000 people
We need more hands and it should be funded massively The problem is not the number of Police personnel. The problem is with the structure of policing. Even if they increase the number of Police, it will not change anything. The present centralised police structure is useless. There should be State Police that should not take orders from Abuja. There should also be Local Government Police that should not take orders from the State Governor. |

RhinoChest: Obi, what’s your business? The relationship between the President and Vice is their business, and you shouldn’t come in because you don’t know the dynamics.
Security issues will be solved, and we need new approaches, from surveillance to modern intelligence gathering and preemptive arrests. We need foreign partners, modern armed force with the best training, new reorientation, modern gadgets and how to use it, etc.
Obviously, quicker things can be done like regular patrols around hotspots, etc.
You don’t need to run your mouth and delegate how a government you are not part of ought to run. So says a fool. During their campaign, they promised exactly what Obi is asking them to do. I wonder what is wrong with most of you. |
