You could push for equality of the sexes without going under the 'feminism' label. You could decide to love yourself more, challenge yourself and compete against your male counterparts, all these can be attained without you calling yourself a feminist.

Feminism is a very boring topic to discuss in Romance section. A guy created a thread asking if it's relevant in Nig, the thread was created in this section. First set of responses were the usual, feminist are pained...who will wash plate and who will wash pant talk.

Then a smart mod moved it to another section. Oh Lord!!!
The conversation took a different turn, we talked on sexism as it affects males and females. We talked on the excessive victim mentality played by some women...the thread was lit and educative.

What you see happening is different from what is. I have never been affiliated to a man who declared himself superior to me. There are men who loved to be challenged with reverence.

Arguments like who will cook and who will be on top during sex is only belittling the cause. I don't care what you do in your homes, so long as no one feels used. There are men who are also used by their wives. It isn't a female problem. So, marry the type of person you want, no surprises in marriage. All hands on deck, except you both want otherwise.

Women are naturally wired to depend on men, same way men are wired to find comfort in women.

The society now protects the right of women, also there are many perks that comes with being a woman but some of us are so fixated on championing for equality.

In our now society is there anything that the men do and women ain't allow to do? Equal pay, advancement careerwise, contesting for electoral position etc

The question is what actual do some female want?
Do they want to relegate the men to the background?

In a large part of my academic career, i came across brilliant, i mean genius females. It took the grace of God and some tricks to outwit them, but guess what, i loved the challene, they helped me improve on my performance indices.

They ewouldn't come to close to me today if we competed, ( I saw a few recently ) Guess what helped shapen my ability to perform, " those ladies ".

I won't raise up my daughters to suepr-egotistical, and by this i mean that anti-men stance, i'l rather train them to see the opposite genders as humans, and let them sort things out themselves. We need to be careful, too muhc independence of opinions, ideas and position threathens the core values in a normal relationship, which is why the feminism movement attracts many attacks.

Independence when it's too tough, threathen a core value in relationships " cleaving ", because people can't easily compartmentalize their minds, when they become fixated on my ideas, my ways, my principles, it messes things up and affects cleaving process in relationships.


Like i always say, why i lend my voice to women emancipation, i believe a healthy relationship is better as the needs of you ladies are catered for in such a relationship. The labels are confusing.


I reiterate, i'm yet to meet a feminist that can tell me the history and objective of feminism and what they want, most times, it's saddled with confusion and theatrics that are not clearly defined
