I'm not so emotionally fragile as to have my ego be hurt by being asked to wash dishes by my kid. If my kid says "dad, I'm in a hurry to get somewhere. Could you please do this thing because I can't do it right now", then I'd do it if I'm disposed to. If I'm not, I'll explain right back and we figure out a way to resolve it.
