firstEVA: this should be it.
So if you admire a sexy lady it's already unfaithfulness? Come on postmann Firstly, let's begin with your choice of word 'sexy'. This is a demeaning word. Proper word: beautiful. Describing someone as sexy cast them as a sex object, f***able, good for sex only or primarily. So when someone dresses sexy, to be appreciated for her body parts and curves , she debase herself. And anyone who admires someone in a sexy way is actually admiring her as good for sex. Meaning the eyes of the admirer has traveled through all the erotic zones of the object of admiration. This is called lust! And it's unfaithfulness if the person is in a committed relationship. There are innocent ways in admiring a beautiful woman, by looking at her face and not thinking dirty. Not admiring her backside, bobs or thighs. But I admit that because of the cultural decay of the 21st century, the first thing you see in a woman these days is her hip and backside, and worse, the area where her thighs come together. Because they lost their dress sense with tight pants and short body-hug tops and hawk their figures instead of their brains. But still the standard doesn't change. Lust is Lust. |

Ishilove: Thank you lezz, for including me in your subjective phrasemaker's list.
If you think I am all those unflattering adjectives which you have described me with, well then, that is most unfortunate because it shows how little you know this moniker.
For every dickhead that says shyte about me, there are 100 who think differently so I am not moved by the inconsequential rants of a few trolls who got banned for breaking the rules which I was hired to enforce.
I will never be a mod again because I left for personal reasons which a few nairalanders are privy to, but in my next life, I will follow the same pattern, and even do more now that I know the level of bile and insanity that fuels certain nairalanders who have nothing better to do than to follow me around and spew the same stinking garbage that comes out of their anus each time they pull down their dirty boxers down.
Sticks and stones, tools... it will be a cold day in hell the day I give a flying fvck what faceless internet scums think about me.
Cayo naro
*unfollows thread* Hmmm lezz! You've struck a cord here! Now you've put her on the defensive. Well, not like I ever knew her or got banned by her, but I got all the bellows of complaints against her. But now, I think those bellows were cries for justice. |

lezz: What if Rule 21 were to be enforced by Moderators?
No one has ever got the stick for breaking that rule yet. I suspect rule 21 is more of an advisory and preferential imploration to grace posts with standard English than the need to keep nuisance out of threads.
But still, Some Nairalanders have taken the pain and effort to write in an enthralling manner with certain panache and precision. Their literary efforts and phraseology draped in all shades of styles are as different as their personalities.
These nairalanders either have the innateness to write in an attention-grabbing way or they slogged to develop their writing proficiency which often entertains me more than the message they seek to convey.
I have selected 10 nairlanders whose pennings have served and entertained my mental perceptions for the entire duration of my nairaland stay. I beleive good writing is a mark of superior breeding and peerage .
I should point that their entire posts/threads are not without some gramatical blemish (As are mine or anyone else's) which is to be expected given the nature associated with writing on an online platform like this; most posts are done on mobile gadgets in between daily routine of work or studies, and always with swinging epinephrine and emotional reflections.
There is little moment for proof-reading and even less for aloofness in critical appraisals for grammatical marrings.
Seasoned, professional writers have the time of luxury and materials to have their scriptings error-proofed either by themselves or professionals. No such luxury is availed a nairalander who writes post and threads in real-time and often with emotional attachments.
The top 10 phrasemakers in my subjective conclusion to have graced Nairaland in recents times are --- in the order of hierarchy:
1.. TV01 . ( Rich in clever placement of everyday words and has a varied stock of simple and sophisticated vocabulary)
2.. TheSonofmark (Word-generator, clever use of compound words in depicting situations)
3... Mizmycoli ( good narrator and logical in composition)
4... Ishilove ( prudish and sanctimonious but a good writer still)
5.... Mindfulness ( philosophically to the left but a a brillaint wordsmith, argumenta- tive still)
6..... Tonyebacarnista ( A prose specialist)
7......
8.....
9......
10......
There are a couple of Moderators who actually deserve the cut, but I do not want to expose this thread to the risk of being perceived as an attempt to kiss up to any moderator, especially after being the subject of many bans I consider ridiculous. Hmmm! I see you took my advice on number ( ), since you considered leaving out the occupier for holding a view contrary to yours. If you had done like you threatened , I would have come after you with my stick. By the way, you came up to my thread, had a passing glance and went as quietly as you came. If you ain't gonna comment on my thread, then don't visit. @ishilove, you seem to act out the very adjectives the OP qualified you with. By the way, you re not the person in the empty bracket. |

sinequanon: Not anything.
Anything more than flirting is off limits.
All I am saying is that, unlike for most men, flirting can act as a release valve for women. They don't actually take it any further. It just helps them with confidence in themselves.
But, if you shut off the valve, it can suddenly explode, and she will cheat.
So, it is counterproductive to be a control freak. Now you've drawn a line! And I respect it. |

sinequanon: I can see why some Nigerian relationships become dysfunctional when the couple moves abroad to the US or UK. All this control freakery becomes much harder, and folk end up doing things that wind them up in jail.
You are with a woman. A woman is attracted to men. That is her biology and psychology. No amount of control freakery is going to change it. So you'd better learn how to live with it.
It is better to allow your woman to flirt and dress the way she wants!
The reactions and compliments will make her more self-assured.
If she is the multiple partners type, you will know early and she will soon be gone, because you have given her plenty of rope to express herself. Let her go.
If she is the loyal type, her confidence will strengthen her loyalty, because the loyal types only cheat when they need validation or have become bored.
So, going with the flow of what a woman does naturally, is a win-win situation. She will be happy, she will be loyal, and you will be happy. Or..
she will be gone EARLY, and you will be happy and grateful. Quite some liberal point of view. Everyone's opinion is welcome. So are you saying in your relationship with your significant other, anything goes? |

ATMC: You don't stop living because you are loving. Where to draw the line on unfaithfulness should be based on your vow. Did you vow to have intimacy. with only him/her, then if you do otherwise, you are being unfaithful.
Did you promise to chat with only him/her, share secret with only him/her, kiss only him/her then do not do otherwise for you will be rightly accused of not being faithful to ur vow.
I won't consider my partner's admiration of another as an act of unfaithfulness because he didn't promise to admire me alone. I feel pain though that he admires another but instead of charging him with unfaithfulness, I will deal with the jealousy in me.
I expect he understands this. Largely true. But there are different kinds of admiration. A sexual admiration (lust) in this case, I, in my own opinion considers it unfaithful. And of course there is righteous jealousy; A right to be jealous when what truly belongs to you, or what you are entitled to is being given to another. |

Like what constitutes and indecent dress, people's opinion differs. There isn't a straight definitely line. opinions seem to vary. While almost all (if not all) people agree that public nudity is unacceptable, there is divers opinions to what what constitute an indecent dress.
Some conservatives would outrightly condemn any kind of pants/trousers for women, some liberals feel it's OK for ladies to put on pants as long as they're having a top long enough to cover their thigh regions. The preferences vary even further.
But where would you as an individual draw the line of unfaithfulness? What actions would you consider an act of unfaithfulness by your significant other?
Most of us probably would agree sex is a red card. But what about other actions? Like hugging, flirting, kissing, online chats, fantasising, sharing personal secret, dates, going out for lunch with the opposite sex, and of course sex?
Where would you draw the line of unfaithfulness?
Is your significant other aware where your line of unfaithfulness is drawn? Does he/she know the detail of your interactions and activities with the opposite sex? Would it be awkward if he/she knows?
Please candidly share your thoughts on this faceless platform where your own line of unfaithfulness is. |
