Pay such huge amout to learn nothing and obtain printed paper certificate. Reason they dash all of them first class and 2:1 while they go outside to fumble. How many of their church members can even afford this?? Convenant university isn't a glorified secondary school, in terms of the university ranking, consistently in the last five years, it comes second after University of Ibadan. |

The conference is billed to hold next month, my passport got expired but my visa validity is ti next year March. I have gotten a new passport. Can I travel with the visa? Your international passport introduces and confirms your nationality and visa allows you entry into another country. As long as your visa is still valid, of course you can travel with your new passport together with your old passport therein your valid visa. |

Wickedtruths: Arabs don't prostrate to their elders but Yorubas do. In the far north, the greeting for elders is squatting. Religion is based on culture. An Arab man is not in a position to tell me how to greet my elders. Jazakallah kairan. One has to interpret this saying within the context of either worshipping any other person except Allah or greeting an elder. Prostrating to greet my Dad cannot be interpreted as a form of worship and should not be condemned. Wa'Allahu A'lam |

dario078: "She started losing her confidence" oga o,what did you do to encourage her?
If she was convinced you loved her regardless of what other people said, their opinions wouldn't have mattered. Did you tell her that no matter what people said you loved her? Did you assure her that their opinions were not important in the scheme of things? That was a long time ago and we were young. I didn't have the mental strength to deal with all the challenges then and I wasn't prepared to marry out of pity. I guess she is happily married now. |

maduxs: Admin please bring this post to light. I have an albino girlfriend, we have been dating for a while now but the fact remains that the stigmatization is too much. People discriminate against her so much.
Every time I'm walking with her people looks at us as if we came from another planets. All my close relations and friends I told about her discouraged me from getting married to her. Everybody is against me, they told me how can I introduce albinism to my lineage.
I understand that she has a very poor visual acuity, she is prone to skin cancer, she will depend on me to get some certain task done especially under sun.
She is a very good girl, what I'm looking at is what is inside her I mean her personality even though she is obese, she gives me peace of mind.
Finally she is also a petrochemical engineer, and very brilliant person though her albinism has been disadvantageous to her from getting a better job. I just proposed to her against all odds even though I'm all alone.
Should I go on to marry her? Please I need advice from people with mature minds. I once dated a lady with albinism and I can relate to what you are experiencing right now. Because of the stereotypes and stigma, she started losing her confidence and that affected her psyches. We hardly go out during the day and thereafter, I started losing interest.Evetually, we went our separate ways. You shouldn't marry her out of pity, it should be based on love. Just like you highlighted, it will come with many challenges and you should be prepared for whatever might come your way. With God, all is possible. |
Family › Re: Tribute To My Late Mother..dr Rahman Adedoyin by Potch: 7:23pm On Aug 09, 2020 |
packagerz: Dear mother,
Today, I remember the demise of my beloved mother.
Certainly, death is inevitable! Every living soul has its death coupon already issued depending on when, where and how. But it is most certain that we will all embark on that eternal journey someday. In spite of this, we still grieve when we lose our beloved ones, particularly, our parents.
Indeed, the sorrow of losing parents, especially a mother, is to the extreme and an emotionally severe one.
Hajiya Mamma, I am really saddened and grieving at your demise, it has made my siblings and I feel lonely. May Aljannah be your final abode.
I am just wondering where else we can get the heartfelt love and care you lavished on us? Anyway, we take solace in the fact that you lived a good life. A life that we are all proud of.
Mamma, you’ve been the source of my progress, cheerfulness, courage, and a strong pillar upon which I rest. You taught me to be generous and God fearing, even when you were bed-bound and could not talk, you beckoned on me to do good to others, you prayed for me even when I could not comprehend what you were saying, but seeing you raising your hands up is explicitly and unambiguously clear to me that, you were praying for me.
When you left us, I was comforted to some extent when I heard people around you emotionally proclaiming the same songs with us (your biological children) that they’ve lost a pillar, meaning; you’ve been a pillar to all and sundry not only to us (your children) Allah (SWT) said in the Holy Quran 31: 14 that, “And We have enjoined upon man, care for his parents. His mother carried him, increasing her in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the final destination.”
I’m indeed very grateful to you (my parents) and I pray to Allah to accept all your good deeds and forgive your wrongs. May He also accept and reward us abundantly for all we’ve done to give comfort our parents.
It is important to mention at this point, to anyone who’s reading this piece and whose parents are still alive to do well to take proper care of them by providing them with basic necessities of life. Please, do those things that make them feel happy, loved and appreciated, like a child in the arms of his nursing mother.
Of course, the gesture should be extended to their siblings and friends. For those of us that lost ours, the best we can do is to fervently pray for them always and seek the means of creating avenues for good deeds and charity works to dedicate the rewards to them.
‘’My Lord and Sustainer! Be kind and have mercy on them as they cherished, nurtured and sustained me in childhood.”
Mamma you strong and also encoutage me until you departed. According to a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) who said; when a Muslim is sick, the sins falls away just as fire purifies gold. I pray may your protracted sickness wipe away every atom of your sins.
Tears drifts down my face as I’m writing this piece with my heart fiery from the innermost, telling me that, from now on, I will spend the rest of my life here on earth without my loving, caring, and encouraging mother. It’s really an irreparable loss which has created a vacuum that cannot be filled.
I fervently pray that, all you’ve prayed for us during your lifetime continue to follow us until our last breath. I can’t finish this without appreciating all those that stood with us at the time of our grief. No doubt, your presence at the funeral prayers, your outpoured prayers and consolations via direct calls, text massages, and on social media was overwhelming, calming, and encouraging. I really can’t thank you enough but I pray to Allah to reward you abundantly and may He continue to keep us together and forgive our deaths.
Adieu Hajiya Mamma! Continue to Rest in Peace until we meet to part no more.
Dr Abdul Rahaman Adegoke Adedoyin MAYE OF YORUBA KINGDOM May Allah forgive her and grant her aljanah firdaus. |

Nothing gladdens a man's heart than waking up every morning with your wife and children beside you. How do we raise a good family when husband and wife live thousand miles apart?
Many women are good and bringing them abroad will not only strengthen their husbands financially but also contribute to raising wonderful families. We have seen cases where husband loses his job shortly his wife arrives, and the wife continues to shoulder the responsibilities until the man is back on his feet. It is just that these days, we marry for wrong reasons, and top on the list is physical appearance.
No marriage is perfect but when lives are at stake, it is better to go separate ways.

Rgade: This government is really out to destroy the public education sector and people are cheering the administration. You are try to cut cost of governance, but it must be the already under funded education sector that the deductions will be made from. How much was allocated for education in the 2020 budget, just N48bn. But even that is too much for this cattle administration that has no value for education. The lecturers can remain on strike, schools can remain shut down for the rest of the year, Buhari and his henchmen don't give a damn as long as they get more money to loot. Is it Buhari that cares about education, or zainab, or malami, which one of those Fulani shit heads gives a fucck about education. Thank you. I am appalled by comments coming from many people here. Many are speaking from the position of ignorance and probably many have become victims of sadistic behaviours from some Professors, and it will be wrong to think all university lecturers are bad. These are the facts: 1. Some lecturers do visit two or more universities plus their place of primary university. However, they are few and ASUU do not approve these appointments, the university management does. ASUU is just an association of academic staff and its membership is voluntary. It is the duty of the university management to sanction anyone who has committed an infraction and not ASUU. Therefore, no one can blame ASUU. 2. Before the Introduction of IPPIS, a university Professor at bar (Conuas 7 step 10 ) earned 6 M per annum, which translated to 500k before deductions. The total deductions then (tax, union dues, and pension) was around 30k and take home pay was around 470k. A Professor who was on step 1 was earning around 385k. 3. With the introduction of IPPIS, a Professor at bar now earns around 6.7 M. With total deductions of 138k, the total take home pay is now 416k, while a new Professor earns 330k. How long does it take to become a Professor in Nigeria university? About 15 to 20 years? A Professor at bar? You need to spend 10 years as a full Professor. Kindly judge for yourself. 4. Why did ASUU embark on strike? How are/were the states of our laboratories, libraries, classrooms, theatres, hostels? Anyone who has been to Convenant University, Afe Babalola University and some notable private universities should do the comparison with respect to research investment, infrastructural development. Should we blame ASUU for the decay? 5. Let us do the Nigeria analysis. Some of you who work or know someone who work in the following places: CBN, FIRS, Nimassa (sp), NHIS, IPPIS etc; can we compare their salaries with university lecturers? If you say no, why? Should we blame ASUU for demanding for improvement in staff welfare? 6. Lastly, let everybody go and read Babalakin's reports on revitalization of University education. He proposed 350-500k school fees for Nigerian students. How many parents will send their children to public primary and secondary schools today? What befell the primary and secondary education is coming to university education if... |

LinLinGentle: I have tried to convince her to come back to Nigeria before the lockdown, but she said she would never step out of the country until she gets her Pali. She said she has no business in Nigeria and even if her mum dies before she gets her Pali, she would not move an inch.
I have honestly tried almost everything. I have begged for peace, prostrated, cried, moved out, moved back in when I was piling up more debt, called pastor and his wife who have now given up on her case due to her non-compliance with spiritual advice. I have made multiple attempts to sit her down to have a heart to heart, but it's always the same roadblock. She sees me like some piece of shit that doesn't deserve her. I have seen some chats where she was talking to family and friends about how she plans to divorce me and re-marry here once she gains her grounds. There is no point in crying over a split milk. The deed has been done, look for solutions. I read tour story and I kinda believe you. The pattern is similar to what I have seen happening to close friends and folks. First, you are in a war and you have to build your own strategy and defence on how it would be won. Someone who claimed even if her mum dies she wont go to Nigeria is in for a war. Like somone suggested, get a spy camera and record her daily verbal abuses, threats and so on. All the mesaages of philandering with some guy and threat to divorce you should be archived. Secomd, how would she get her pali? If you're her guarantor, then you hold the final aces. I guess you can present all these facts to the authority when it is time to renew her or get her pali? I hope you can use this as your last card! If you dont send her to Nigeria, she will eventually send you to Nigeria AND SHE WILL CONTINUE TO ENJOY HER LIFE IN THAT COUNTRY. Third, you are being blackmailed because you are a family man. No matter what happens, trust me your children will be fine. It is better to ler her go than continuing staying with someone who has no love for you. Allowing your children to be brought up in such a frosty environment will damage their psyche forever. What you should do now? Continue acting like a vulture, you need its patience. |
Romance › Re: Should I Marry A Second Wife? by Potch: 6:43pm On Apr 17, 2020 |
dontjuststop: Hello Nairalanders,
I got married to my lovely wife on the 5th of March 2016 and we have a beautiful daughter together. Two years after the wedding I received a revelation from God through a dream that I will meet a lady that will change my life. I was scared when I woke up from the dream as I was newly married.
Fast forward to a year later I met this lady and we got talking. By then I had forgotten about the dream I had so we got talking and I wasn't really attracted to her at first. She fell in love with me almost immediately even though I disguised as a very broke person at first and I returned her gesture after which we got intimate but I made sure she knew about my marital status.
During the time I own a medium fruit juice and bottle water factory which was doing well. I noticed work began to improve at the factory and we started getting large orders from distributors all over the southwest. I struck a deal with a logistics company that provided us trailers to meet our distributor's target as we now sell thousands of packs daily. From there, I started buying lands and now have two estate projects we are now selling to recovers the spent on the project. In addition, I have started taking building and drainage contracts.
A year after we met, my wife started suspecting am seeing a lady outside the marriage and she confronted me which I obviously denied. Immediately I started scheming of how to get rid of her. In compensation for her services, I sent her to a country in Europe with the help of my travel agent, all expense paid by me just to make sure I get rid of her. After spending three months abroad, she reached out to me telling me she can't cope without me. I thought she was kidding then I dare her to return to Nigeria if she truly misses me which I thought she won't.
To my surprise, she returned to the country a week later and I was shocked as I couldn't believe my eyes. I was disturbed that I had to confess to my pastor what I did outside my marriage. He was visibly angry with me but after listening to my story he calmed down and prayed for me. After the prayers he said he would have asked me to marry her if I wasn't married yet. Then he reminded me of how he preached to me earlier not to marry yet but I was blinded by love.
The most shocking part was when he told me God sent her into my life to bless me and she is behind all the blessings I was coming across ever since I met her and I decided that I shouldn't send her away unless she decides to leave by herself. I love my wife and I have sworn nothing will ever separate us but sometimes I think of marrying her but I don't know if I can handle the headache of having two wives. If I ever make the decision to marry her, I will build or buy her a house and tell her not to come near my family.
Am sharing this here so as to gather advise from people with experience in such matter. You are free to insult me as much as you like as long as you can add something reasonable to the discussion. I know I am not a saint, all I want is an advice.
Many Thanks! The only problem I have with you is infidelity, which is a sin. Apart from that, nothing is wrong in a marrying a second wife. It is a 'White man' mentality. You could have informed your wife before going into that relationship. You dont need her permission anyway but she must be informed. What works for mr A might not work for mr B. I have seen men who marry more than one wife and are happy and I also know of men who marry one wife and are living in hell. Follow your heart. |
Politics › Re: Salihu Yakasai: Dethroned Sanusi Won’t Have Access To Visitors – Ganduje’s Aide by Potch: 6:24pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
domack99: The Director-General, Media and Communications, Kano State Government, Salihu Yakasai, has said the deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, won’t have access to visitors.
He said this while making clarification on the removal of Sanusi on Monday.
The Kano State Executive Council had on Monday approved the immediate removal of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, announced the unanimous decision of the council at a news conference on Monday in Kano.
He said the removal of the monarch followed alleged disrespect to lawful instructions by the state governor.
After Sanusi’s removal, there were speculations that he could emerge as the presidential or governorship candidate of a political party in the 2023 general election.
But Yakasi via his Twitter handle, @dawisu, said Sanusi would be kept in exile and would not have his freedom as expected.
“Clearly, some people are ignorant of how dethronement works. When an Emir is dethroned, he is sent to exile in a remote location and will basically be under house arrest and won’t have access to visitors. A person under these circumstances will be after his freedom and not the next election,” he tweeted.
https://punchng.com/dethroned-sanusi-wont-have-access-to-visitors-gandujes-aide/ This Ganduje aide reels of ignorance! There are two issues here (1) Dethronement and (2) Banishment The Governor is within his right to dethrone a traditional rule but issue of banishment into exile has been set aside by a court of high jurisprudence in the case of Jokolo (Fmr. Emir of Gwandu) vs. Kebbi State, as banishment into exile contradicts the 1999 Constitution of freedom of movement. |

Juwohn: Who is doing your medical aid for you? You can apply and pay for your medical aid yourself and online https://www.ingwehealth.co.za/ At Vick6666 This case is bad. One, the first mistake was coming home to apply for study visa extension. You should have applied in SA. Two, because of the forged medical aid, you may have been flagged, which I think comes with a stiif penalty, usually a visa ban for some period. What you should do: 1. Write to your school and demand for a new admission letter or extension of study letter. Also request for your academic reports. And a letter from your study advisor or supervisor if you are a PG student. 2. I dont know if you may have to pay your school fees. Anything to show your status as " current student". 3. You will have to write a comprehensive letter, maybe with the help of a lawyer. 4. Submit all these documents together with a new medical aid and re-apply. 5. Be prayerful and hoping for the best. |
Education › Re: IPPIS: No January Salary For Unregistered ASUU Members (photos) by Potch: 11:31pm On Jan 23, 2020 |
What you need to understand 1. University management is run by the Vice Chancellors, DVCs, Registrars, Bursars and principal officers. ASUU members do not run universities but are critical members in Nigerian university system. If there are recruitment irregularities, the university management and the governing councils should be held responsible and not ASUU.
2. ASUU like any other organisations has some bad eggs but they're insignificant and this cannot erase what ASUU has achieved over the years in in making sure that university education is accessible to everybody. In fact, the reason why the government-ASUU negotiations have broken down is that the federal government through its representatives are proposing school fees of between 300k-500k for students in tertiary institutions. ASUU is currently fighting this!
3. The issue of IPPIS is complex. IPPIS is not owned by the government. It is owned by some people and in fact, the AGF is alleged to have some stakes in it. IPPIS too is not immune to irregularities. However, ASUU is not against IPPIS but wants some issues to be addressed and federal government is currently engaging and studying the alternative template designed by the ASUU.
4. More than eighty percent of university lecturers are yet to be enrolled into IPPIS. If salaries are stopped this month, ASUU will invoke NO PAY, NO WORK . I pray the circular is fake! |
Family › Re: I Need Advice..6 Month Marriage by Potch: 7:18pm On Jan 18, 2020 |
BligsMiss: Hi Everyone, please do away with my English I'm writing this from a sick bed.
My name is Aisha, 27 years from Nigeria. I meet this guy 4years ago when I was in school, when you see him, he's religious, he prays 5times daily, he's from a good family.infact he's the most religious in his family, everyone call him Alfa.
This is the number one factor that makes me fall inlove with this man because I knw I'm weak when it's comes to religion, and I need someone who will enhance my family and children in future.
He proposed when I was in school then I said yes, but everything must be done till after my school which is about 2years time then. Later he had the opportunity to travel out of the country for his masters, he called me to come over to ibadan then, I spent a week at his place in Ibadan (No s3x then) he doesn't even make a move. Which gives me 100% assurance that I'm in a safe hand. But we later did before he traveled out finally.
We discussed and planed to go to registry so it will be easier for me to come over later(He's going as a married man).
Everything works fine as planned. My mum gave him very huge amount of money then when we were both looking for money to settle some of his school fee. 2 years later I went for my NYSC. And finished February 2019.
During my final year in school I went for some programming course that I have stated developing Applications, Website for big companies, before I graduated I make more 200k in a month. During my NYSC I opened one big office that I employed more than 8staffs working for me and everything is going well in Lagos.
He invited me immediately after my NYSC and I went to meet him in abroad. My office still function in Lagos til now.
Immediately I got to his place I have started putting some things in place to start my Programming job there and gradually it paying but not that much.
I got a new phone and laptop because he told me he's settling some bills then which I understand. I'm not the lazy type infact sometime I need to do cleaning for oyinbo to help him settle some bills then when i dindt see client for programming work. (If I didn't support him as a wife who will?) I knw it's part of my responsibilities.
Two months after I moved in i got pregnant. We clocked 6months yesterday that I have moved in to his place.
One day I was using his phone to work, I don't even check his messages, (I trust him 101%) one message popped in via messenger from random girls , I was forced to check that day. I saw my husband exchanging nude pics, s3x chat, with olosho, I didn't believe. I just keep quiet and monitored this, some days after, I saw his cousin (I knw her very well) s3xchatting with him also.(I was so mad with this) I can't withstand this I asked him and he denied.
Immediately he got to knw I'm aware of where they communicate. He blocked the ladies off his Facebook. I was glad and keep on with him.
Few days later I found out they changed mode of communication (it's now via e-mail) My God that's always by my side. I wanted to login my email on his PC, immediately I open Yahoo Mail, his messages popped in and he forgot to log out.
I saw some unexpected messages. I saw him patronizing prostitue, watching Indecency even after I have moved In, Exchanging n*de pictures, going to all Adultfinder site to hook up with prostitue. I was so sad and mad. I don't knw what to do because I didn't expect all these.
I called his brother and I told him all these, I screenshot some of these and their conversation for him to knw I'm aware and I keep records.
His brother called him and he said there's nothing like that. That the lady(his cousin)asked him for money blablabla.
I forgive him and forget. We moved on.
Recently, I have not bn sleeping. Infact I can be up from morning to next morning, I think all these are associated with pregnancy sometimes.
3days ago, I was awake alone in the house. I have pressed my phone the thing don hot. I said lemme check some mail on PC. Immediately I opened Yahoo mail. Hmmm!
My husband now have a new email account, new twitter account, new Facebook account all for his cousin, but God almighty that will make him got exposed. He forgot to log out, the house system and this used to be on 24/7.
Could you believe this man still communicate with his cousin, infact they exchanged video sexchat, begging the girl for nude pics and sechat, the lady will now ask him money Inreturn and he will send it to her.
As at a night before I saw this, my husband still send message to prostitue asking for her price , where do they meet bla blabla!
I asked myself if it was a mistake that he did, ever since I caught him and confronted him, why did he choose to continue? Why are they running helter and skelter to keep their conversation going?
Why did he continues with all theses nonsense despite I have moved him?
Wil he stop?
What exactly does this man want? you have never ask me for sex and I tell you No. Even when I was on a bed rest
Is this not a one chance marriage?
This is a man I have loved despite his physical challenges.
This is a man I'm planing to spend the rest of my life with.
This is his cousin, who knows who it might be in future?
Are my children safe?
Is this how marriage used to be?
I have sacrifice alot in this marriage yet all these are happening to me!
God Why?
I went to the hospital yesterday for my 2nd trimester check up, my GP said my BP Is high I need to rest and eat. Right in me i knw there's something I need to talk out, I cannot tell my parent or friend or anyone. I just want to say it out Most marriages start this way, though different challenges. Insah Allah, you will get through this phase. Some married men of many years still watch pornographic images and videos, let alone a marriage of six months. It may be possible that he has a high libido and may not be compatible sexually. However, cheating is not the answer. The only concern is cheating with some random cousin and prostitutes. A cheating partner is a potential conduit for many problems-diseases to you and your child. Not a bad idea if you call his mother. Good luck. |
Education › Re: Can I Still Go Back And Write My Carry Over After 2 Years? by Potch: 9:33pm On Dec 23, 2019 |
Circulate: it's a regulated rule that when a student have carry over's or fail a course after the stipulated period of rounding up his/her course of study, such student can be given a period of 2 years to write and pass that course or courses and if not being able to pass within such period, such student will b given a Certificate of Attendance (COA) instead of the normal Certificate.
Its been over 2 years now since i left school cos i failed some courses and have not done them and a new calendar is starting next Month and I want to know if it's still possible for me to go back and rewrite my failed courses.
MOD pls help me push this to front page for myriads suggestions. Based on the university regulations, absent from lectures for one semester without valid reasons means you have withdrawn from the programme. Failure to register for two academic years without you applying for suspension of studies is also withdrawal from your programme. I don't think you have a case. |

rentAcock: Many lecturers became lecturers because they couldn't become doctors, engineers, pharmacists etc. They are not only unqualified to teach, they are also frustrated, hence the reason they fail students. We need a total overhaul of out educational system. So who trains the doctors, engineers, pharmacists, etc.? |

salford: She is not telling the whole truth. A phone holder or parking on the side of the road to enter address would have saved her from a fine. It is irrelevant if she was on Google or changing phone's music playlist connected via Bluetooth. I am a Special Marshal. The lady was not telling the whole truth and thank you for setting the record straight. Driving a car requires you to place your two hands on the steering wheel. Anything short of this is an infraction of the traffic rules. The FRSC is not against the use of Google map but how you use it. |

whitebrown: Three Nigerian men were arrested on Long Street on Wednesday morning following two separate drug busts in which drugs worth more than R1.1-million were seized.
EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said following up a complaint at 5am, metro police officers apprehended two men, aged 42 and 45 around 10am.
“The two suspects were found in possession of rock, Cat and ecstasy, all valued at R10 100.”
At about 10.30am, the team proceeded to another block of flats on the same street where blocks of Cat, crystal meth and heroin valued at R1.1-m were uncovered before a 39-year-old male flat tenant was apprehended, said Mokheseng.
Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sgt Dipuo Ditsheng said the suspects were detained at Kempton Park Police Station for dealing in and possession of drugs.
Kempton Park SAPS commander Brig Samuel Maredi applauded the involved members for uncovering the drugs and ridding the streets of thereof.

There are many honest and hardworking Nigerians in South Africa who are positively contributing to the economy, they should be supported as long they remain crime-free. |
Education › Re: How Do I Deal With A Biased Lecturer? by Potch: 5:56pm On Oct 22, 2019 |
Resivim: Good day fellow "nairalanders".
There exist this very young (say) lecturer in my department who is always in charge of most of exam scripts of students. In fact most lecturers hand over students' scripts to him for marking believing he's trustworthy. But the main thing is, he's now aware of almost all the best and class toppers in class including those who wish to play their games so low...and he usually mark those who seems not to be familiar with him down while gracing the ones he's familiar with even though they don't usually give (1/4) of what those marked down usually give.
This has been occuring for several times now, many silent aims of the best students seem to have been dashed....he will just reduce their efforts to like *B* or a more lesser grade when they Indeed deserve *A* and even get the highest scores..
THE QUESTION NOW IS, HOW DO YOU THINK WE CAN DEAL WITH THIS SELFISH MAN, OR PREVENT HIM FROM INFLICTING SUBESQUENT HARMS TO OUR MOST DESIRED GOALS.
Most of us hate this man's attitude! , let alone of moving closer to him.
I will be so grateful if this really gets to front page, it's one of the challenges those called "BEST STUDENTS" face. How come he is in charge of all the students' scripts in your department? Is he directly involved in the teaching of all courses involved? If not, that is not right! Send anonymous letter to the Dean of the Faculty if you have a strong evidence, your accusations must be based on facts though, not conjectures. If your HOD is approachable, you can go as a group with hard facts. Don't know if this will work in Nigeria though? |

thebosstrevor: Nigerians always say they are one of the smartest people in the world, they boast and beat their chest that they are so intelligent and smart and nobody can beat a Nigerian, but then again with all these bragging, Nigeria is not developed and cant boast of a middle class
My question to you Nigerian Folks, if Nigerians are one of the smartest in the world, why isnt Nigeria developed? pls do not mention bad government, i am tired of hearing that. Nigerians are smart but are being led by dull people. From the presidency to the National Assembly, majority are secondary school cert holders. Most smartest people in my set are now in the USA and Canada. |

Qhan: Hi Guys,
Please is R850,000 gross salary in cape town a good pay for someone earning N550K net in Nigeria?
Also, which area in cape town has high concentration of Nigerians and what is the average cost of rent per month in such areas.
Thanks. R850,000 is about R71,000 per month before tax I guess. Your take home pay after tax deductions, pensions, and medical aids could be around R40,000-R45,000. This is what an average university professor in SA takes home every month. This will put you among the top 25th percentile on a national income hierarchy. If this is a permanent employment , it is good. You will be able to buy a house ( if you are a PR holder), and of course most banks will give you loans for cars and anything... Your children will go to better schools. However, you may have to be careful of a place with high concentration of Nigerians...Congats. |

Literature › Re: Olaokun Soyinka Writes Tonye Cole Over Airplane Seat Saga Of Wole Soyinka by Potch: 9:41am On Jun 27, 2019 |
9jaBloke: I think this issue is being overflogged. Let's analyse the players:
Prof. W.S; He is over 80 years, so it is very possible that he took that seat by mistake If it was deliberate and he prefered window seats for obvious reasons, he should have planned it better-Ask for the seat during booking, most airlines would be happy to indulge him. He didn't see it as a big deal so he got up. There's absolutely nothing petty about WS.
Bobo Fine; He is young and probably exuberant and may not have recognised or even known WS He may have gone the extra mile to get a window seat He is opinionated and non-conventional We don't know his story (no one actually knows this guy's story so we can't keep judging him). He might have a condition, he might have been unstable, goodness knows! He was operating within his rights so he actually commited no crime.
Tonye Cole: Was okay to have tried to reason with Bobo Fine but should have stayed out of it after the incident. Had no business uploading that picture. Probably did it to trend and gain national popularity for his Guber ambition.
Nigeria: There's already the underlying issue of lawlessness and lack of regard for orderliness. There's also the issue of the elders' demand for respect and their sense of entitlement. Also, many Nigerians will rather go sentimental and more often than not, the real issues are left unaddressed.
Me: I totally totally adore Prof. Wole Soyinka, I've read almost everything he has published and his views and policies resonate with me. I will consider it a privilege for him to have my seat on a plane (deliberately or mistakenly).
That said, If i catch any unidentified elder on my seat, you will surely have to 'gbe bodi' but i will definitely demand it very politely. It's not really about respect. I have maximum respect for senior citizens. I defer to ladies, children and the elderly.
I just think we have to restore order and enforce some basic social principles so that this country can have a good shot at working. " I will consider it a privilege for him to have my seat on a plane (deliberately or mistakenly)". This sentence represents class, quality education, good home, and respectful lineage . May God bless your parents. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Politics › Re: IRI, NDI, EU Reports: I’m Embarrassed To Be Nigerian -ozekhome by Potch: 7:12am On Jun 21, 2019 |
Antoeni: A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Mike Ozekhome, has described the just released report on the last presidential and National Assembly elections by the EU Observer Group, The International Republican Institute and the National Democratic Institute, as a damning case of deep-seated corruption in Nigeria.
Ozekhome, who said he was embarrassed to be a Nigerian, alleged that corruption has not only eaten deep into just the electoral process, but also into the entire moral fabric of the society.
“Cancerous and leprous corruption, especially within government circles and among those opportunistic few who control the levers of power and means of production and distribution of scarce national resources, has completely eroded our national ethos and cherished moral values and elevated mediocrity and hypocrisy to high heavens.”
The human rights activist said the electoral process has been horrifically bastardised, monetised, militarised and privatised by the rulers, elite and their prostituting collaborators and allies, both local and international, who see politics as a full time profession and a ‘do-or-die’ and ‘winners-take-all’ occupation.
“The 2019 elections were probably the worst in the electoral history of Nigeria, killing more people and causing more incalculable casualties than any election in Nigerian history,” he claimed.
He alleged that aside the uncontrolled and uncontrollable activities of the Boko Haram insurgents and rampaging herdsmen and the genocidal killings recorded during the three-year Nigerian-Biafran civil war progrom, no event has recorded more mindless cold-blooded killings on Nigeria as did the last elections.
“The Nigerian Situation Room, leading local election observers and monitoring groups, also passed the same damning verdict over the last presidential election that suffered acute lack of integrity, transparency, credibility fairness, freedom and acceptability. The incumbent government was so desperate to win at all costs since it had no credible or viable record of performance to rely on that it threw caution to the wind and militarised the entire elections to its advantage.”
