Macaulay10:Check it if you will find Stanford or MIT.. Its only schools that accept WES and as you can see its published by WES |
This is the list of schools in both the US and Canada that accept WES evaluation for graduate and undergraduate admissions. https://applications.wes.org/access/awclients.asp |
So does that make the exam tough or what...? |
hill55:Have your tried any other test prep apart from Powerprep? I am also in similar shoes as you are... But mine is just 145 in the verbal |
Good evening house I have a very few questions that I want someone to help dissect and give an answer to. The questions are listed chronologically as thus: 1. I am currently preparing for GRE and will be writing in July. I have tested myself with the ETS powerprep and my average score for both timed 1 and 2 were good compared to my program requirement (Q160 V154) but I have tested myself on Magoosh prep and got a very low score in average ( Q157, V145), I even got as low as 155 and 143. Verbal been giving headache. Now my question "which of these two emulates the real test" Or do I just start reading from start and assume I have not read anything? 2. I have been searching and searching for schools to apply and one deficiency I have is that I am limited to only schools that accept WES evaluation because I have HND in Electrical and electronics engineering and evaluated to be 3.6 of 4 but came up with this list of schools. I. Florida institute of tech: A tier 1 school but ranked 601 in the world, I don't understand why it is like this but if someone can just help explain why a tier 1 research institute is ranked so low or am I getting it wrong? Because I thought a tier 1 university should be ranked as high as 1-200 Ii. Florida state university. c. Georgia tech: requiring a competitive GRE score and that's why I need to ace that thing III. North Dakota state university. Although I can circumvent the GRE according to the requirement. IV. Illinois institute of tech: GRE score as high as 312 Thanks, please ignore any grammatical error because nobody in infallible |

Anyone who can help? I don't find this GRE verbal section interesting at all.. How do I improve, my exam is on the 2nd of July. I can't even comprehend any passage when I read them less of picking out what the author might be saying... My sentence completion is also poor. I have learnt the strategies but vocabularies are just too much and I forget too quick... The Quant section is getting more interesting.. I had my first simulation before reading and got a score of 153 in d quant section. I know I will improve to a higher score before d test. |

i have registered for GRE with BY Mafit and will be preparing against June ending. Here is my Study plan. I need your input, output or probably modifications. 1. Because i am a core engineering student and I think quantitative shouldn't be a problem but just to avoid had I known, I have decided to prepare for quantitative in the first two weeks (14days) with these materials: a. GRE MATH REVIEW b. Magoosh math Video series c. GRE Official guide 2. The Verbal section is really my weakness and not just because of anything but all these vocabularies but I have decided to use Màgoosh GRE vocabulary app and I am going to dedicate two hours everyday to master each deck... I was able to master 51 of common words in the first deck of this app in just a day. I will also dedicate the next two weeks after quantitative for Verbal section with these materials: a. GRE official guide b. Kaplan c Magoosh video series for verbal 3. AWA is another part that seems not too hard but someone can easily fall off if enough preparation is not made to attack this section. I have decided to prepare for this section with just one week with these materials: a. GRE pools of topic on both issues and argument b. GRE official guide c. Kaplan d. Magoosh video series 4. The next two weeks for practice test on Magoosh and powerprep. That's approximately two months for preparation.. I need your input and advice cus I am a little scared of this test and I can't afford to write it twice. And to note that my target score is 155, 165 and 4.5 in V,Q and AWA respectively |
