Stanley Okoro needs to be in this team. He can use his pace and fitness to threaten the opposition from the right flank. |
odemwingie gooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaal credit to yakubu for not being selfish |
The team is still useless. You cannot always rely on luck and hope to do well; we should rely on work ethic and putting competent officials to lead our team. Amodu is not the right coach for the Super Eagles. |
Googler:I really need to know the name of the specific animal whose meat is called bush meat. Or is the specific animal called "bush meat?" I thought that it was just colloquially referred to as bush meat, and that there was a specific name to which the animal is referred. Thanks anyways. |
Can anyone tell me what it's called in English. I used to eat it Nigeria, and it tastes so good. I was trying to tell one of my oyinbo friends but didn't know the English name. Help a bro out! |
kai, I wish I had this rice when I was in boarding school. I for dey chop rice and geicha and palm oyel every night |
Why would all these cynics complain about the purported $1M gift? If you see on TV the substantial amount of dead bodies on the streets, the thousands of children who became orphans in a flash, and the amount of hungry people who walk over dead bodies without sufficient food and barely any sleep, then shut up and leave Fashola alone-- if for any reason, for humanitarian reasons. |
waleski:True talk, Waleski. I would not date mama gee even if i was offered $1mil to date her. |
Mama gee is just desperate for attention. She posts threads with potentially inflammatory, sexist topics, however nonsensical or moronic, just to get attention. I am not surprised that she started another dumb thread--the shape of Naija men's head--given that her recent threads have failed to garner the amount of comments/responses she craves. Perhaps, her self esteem is tied to number of comments people leave on her thread. Given that she dislikes Naija men so much and her big mouth, I challenge her to post her boyfriend's picture, if any, so we can see what kind of guys she dates. I bet they are probably ugly. But mama gee is free to prove me wrong. I dare her. |
Igbos are very tribalistic, some even villagistic. Some Igbos would not even marry another Igbo who is not from the same village. |
How will you test-drive the product if the legs are closed? Don't you know that these days, you have to test-drive before you commit to buy, much less buying. |
If you are a rasta and can identify with dreads, wear it; if you are a rapper or hippie and think wearing earrings or braiding your hair will make you look more "cool," then wear it; if you are a p-i-m-p and think perming your hair will give you the domineering look with which to subjugate females, then perm your hair. As for me, the profession to which I am working towards forbids earrings and braids and any unprofessional look, so I can't wear it. Nevertheless, I never desired earrings and braids, just a personal prerogative. I think men who wear earrings are somewhat insecure in their manliness or personality and therefore feel compelled to wear earrings to compensate for the shortfall in their personality or masculinity. Some feel wearing earrings somewhat validates their ability to be a "happening guy." |
H2O2:I do understand that natural disasters are a point of life, but I did not consider the natural disaster in and of itself in stating that there may be a link between the prevalence of voodoo and Haiti's problem. I looked at Haiti's history of extreme economic turmoil, the string of Hurricanes and flooding that devastated Haiti last year, and this current 7.0 earthquake in purporting that there may be a link. Concededly, other economic factors like corruption and mismanagement are equally compelling reasons for impeding economic advancement, but that by no means precludes the possibility that the prevalence of voodoo as an equally compelling reason for the impedance of economic progress. For example, if you go to a witch doctor to pray for prosperity, it is not uncommon for the witch doctor to ask you to bring your child or parent as a sacrifice. Since I am not God and do not know the reason why this disaster struck Haiti, either of the foregoing reasons could be responsible for stunting Haiti's economic growth and the earthquake, but only God knows why Haiti has suffered from this severe natural disasters, which we can conclusively say are not attributable to other economic factors like corruption but attributable to the unknown. Like I said earlier, I cannot adduce any concrete reason why Haiti is deserving of this disaster because I am not God, but I do know that God has once sent a flood to destroy the earth, and only He knows why a disaster of this magnitude as well as the floods happened to Haiti. |
H2O2:It can be explained from the Bible. When God destroyed the earth with a flood, when it rained for forty days and forty nights. Genesis 7:12. Also, even if our God is a merciful God, He is also a consuming fire. Hebrews 12: 28-29. Also, the Bible says for the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. Hebrews 12:29. H2O2:You have said it that an extreme christian may have proclivity for evil, but the Bible will not support that evil. People who practice voodoo, on the other hand, are by their very nature intrinsically evil, for the practice of voodoo does not espouse love, peace, but evil, and the voodoo sanctions even the most atrocious and evil act. If you look at communities that have people who primarily practice voodoo, you will notice that they never really progress and live under the most backward conditions. Again, the practice of voodoo espouses and sanctions hate, murder, and any other heinous acts that you can imagine. Christians and people of other faith, on the other hand, even if they have extremists who may have the proclivity for evil, those people are more or less the exception rather than the rule, and the religion will not sanction such evil acts. |
9jaganja:U.S. is not under abject poverty like Haiti. Haiti practically has nothing and is too poor for a country located in the western hemisphere. It's other half, the Dominican Republic, has substantially better economic conditions than Haiti. |
H202 Even if 80% of the population are catholics, a significant percentage within that 80% catholic population also practice voodoo. You cannot concurrently worship God and the devil, no way. Let's call a spade a spade. We have seen how the practice of voodoo can impede the progress of communities such as Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode, Ifon, and the likes. Instead of bettering yourself, the evil mindset which underlies the practice of voodoo militates towards harming your fellow brethren. As a christian, I will never sanction the practice of voodoo, but I am not the one to judge whether there is a correlation between the practice of voodoo and the recent disaster plagued Haiti, as well as three Hurricanes that happened last year. Only God knows, but, again, nothing good can arise out of the practice of voodoo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpeLdXeIbwA this link may put things in perspective. |
H2O2:You are something else. Why are you twisting my logic and using syllogism in twisting my argument? Did I say nothing good can arise out of all nations, or did I say nothing good can arise out of Haiti? Of course not. And by the way who told you voodoo is pervasive in all nations? Voodoo is openly practiced by too many people in Haiti, and we all know that (at least if you believe in God) that voodoo espouses hatred and evil. So what do you expect from a country in which a catholic priest can preach by day and be a voodoo priest by night, openly. |
They might as well accept the offer. What other options do they have? From the looks of things, nothing! |
please what do you say that makes you sound so intelligent? wow. I guess those guys are not the one for you, probably not intelligent themselves or intimidated by your intelligence. |
poster, do you really expect me to read that incoherent narrative of yours? You must be silly if you thought so. |
@poster, I'll advise you to find a Nigerian girl who was born and raised here. The big issue is that the Nigerian girls who immigrated here and are from poor families in Nigeria usually act different from the ajebutter Naija chicks who immigrated here. The girls who were raised from poor families were usually unexposed and are already living the American dream just by getting a visa to come to America. End result, these girls lack the social skills to interact with someone like you who, even though was raised in America, is a guy from Nigerian parentage. The Ajebutter girls were already living the highlife in Nigeria and many came here merely to attend school, not as a means of fleeing from the purported poverty in Nigeria. Another thing is that a lot of these girls may have been raised in the village or under limited exposure and never attended parties or social events like the ones in America, so, in their minds, dancing with a stranger is a taboo. Trust me, some of these Naija girls will not dance with you unless they've known you, or their friend introduces you to them, which is plain senseless because you could possess all the characteristics that which they seek in a man. Nevertheless, they have been culturally programmed to shy away from men who are strangers, regardless of whether they are attracted to the man or not. They will date a buffoon who was introduced to them by their friends rather than take their chance on a stranger who could potentially be the man of their dreams. I know it sounds illogical, but, trust me, it is village mentality. A way to circumvent this huddle is to offer to "take care" of her or bring her out of poverty. In other words, offer to spend money on her. Go find Naija chicks from affluent backgrounds or the ones who were born here because, even though they are still not as initially friendly to strangers like American girls, they are more easier to deal with than these village girls who were fortunate to get an American visa. |
Voodoo is pervasive in Haiti and, as such, nothing good can arise out of the practice of voodoo. |
On the average, white women appreciate more than akata women black men who neither dress nor act thug-like, are articulate and speak proper English rather than Ebonics and street language, and who do not have a criminal record. Akata women, overwhelmingly, have now subconsciously evolved to view, for example, thuggery, indifference to responsibility, having a criminal record, dressing and acting like a hip-hopper, driving a car with grande chrome wheels, and not having an education or ignorance as defining characteristics of masculinity. White women generally detest such behavior. You can't say the same for akata women. |
Because the culture permits it. |
you guys apparently don't know more about the music industry to come to such conclusion. An artist's primary goal is to make a hit record. That way the artist can please his superiors and execs in the record label. The American hip hop industry, just like the Nigerian hip hop industry, has witnessed the emergence of main stream artists like Gucci Mane, Soulja Boi, among others. In both industries, many mainstream artists are high school dropouts and don't generally write quality music. As a result of consumer taste, artists who painstakingly write good music have now been relegated to minority status. With the global recession and increased environmental stress, the average music listener wants a song with a catchy beat and chorus while not particularly concerned with how good the song is written. In short, artists make songs in response to consumer demands; that is to say, many consumers do not particularly care about good written songs. |
A LovePeddler is a LovePeddler, whether she is beautiful or ugly. Beauty is not relevant in determining whether a girl is LovePeddler, and being a LovePeddler is an innate characteristic. |
send her to mama put or Iya Tawa or Mama Ibeji; they will teach her. |

That assertion fails to establish a nexus between wrongdoing and voodooism. It's a religion to them, just as christianity is a religion to you, islam, etc. There are nefarious christians as there are nefarious voodoo-practitioners.
