So what kind of love do you do? The one your home girl hooks you up with? So where do you meet people? What is wrong with meeting someone at a supermarket? Na waa for some people's mentality.

I'm telling you my experiences and you're saying I'm acting ethical. undecided See the time I go out for errands is the only time I find myself outside on my own because my parents locked us up in the house, obviously for good reasons. It's not as if I want to be walking up and down looking for a 'guy' I want to curse. And no I don't eye guys a lot. They don't call me a snob for nothing. tongue Anyways, the location matters when you want to toast a girl. I'd rather you come as a friend first.
How can you come as a friend if that guy is meeting you for the first time, say at the supermarket?
RomanceRe: Why Do Nigerian Ladies Insult Their Toasters? by Princek12(m): 4:25am On Jan 12, 2010
I still don't get it. If you are a girl and a guy approaches you respectfully, why don't you just reciprocate the respect by turning him down respectfully, if you are not interested in the guy. If, on the the hand, the guy approaches you disrespectfully, then you may rain insults on him. But I don't see any sensible reason that underlies the blanket approach of raining verbal insults on a guy you don't like who approaches you, when that guy approaches you respectfully. It is plain immature and an excuse to boost one's self esteem at the expense of another.

RomanceRe: This Guy Has A Way With Women by Princek12(m): 10:13pm On Jan 10, 2010
You guys are over thinking this stuff; the guy may be simply paying these ladies. Since you gave him a room in your big house, that would free up some money that can be used to pay for the services of these women. You also said that Frank will not spend his money on women unless it is unavoidable; that is to say, maybe the only way he could bring them to his house was to spend money on them. Mind you, because you think he is stingy--probably because he is stingy to himself--does not mean he won't spend his money on all this women; and while you think you know him, you may not really know this guy--he may be a trick.
RomanceRe: How Do I Get Rid Of This Ex?! by Princek12(m): 6:12pm On Jan 10, 2010
@poster,

You need to move on and forget him. If the love was for real, you guys would have sorted your relationship rather than playing the cat and mouse game. I believe your problem is that you were involved with someone with whom you were comfortable, which is understandable, and the reason you think about him is because you have not met someone else to fill the void in your heart.

Try to involve yourself with social activities and date so that to your mind will be occupied, for thinking about him all the time may interfere with your quest to find to love. Further, he is probably not thinking about you as much as you think of him, and he may ignore you completely if and when he finds someone he loves. Move on baby girl.

You have already condemned 9ice without knowing fully the circumstances responsible for the divorce. But again, look at 9ice and look at the girl and tell me how you expect that kind of marriage to last.

I saw it coming. He is now rich, famous, and an international star; and he needs a girl who is on the same level as him. Just like many musicians, he is probably thirsty for a trophy, flamboyant wife. Tony Payne, I am sorry, does not meet those requisites.

SportsTogo's Soccer Team Attacked With Ak-47s In Angola by Princek12(op): 10:04pm On Jan 08, 2010
(CNN) -- The Togo national football team bus has been attacked by gunmen en route to the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.

The side were crossing the border in the Angolan territory of Cabinda from the Republic of Congo, to take part in the 2010 tournament which starts on Sunday.

Togo striker Thomas Dossevi, who plays for French league side Nantes, was on board the vehicle and told CNN "armed rebels" holding AK-47 machine guns had opened fire.

"We were attacked by armed rebels who used Kalashnikov's. We had just passed the border and a couple of minutes later we were attacked from both sides.

"We hid below the seats -- we had police protection in front and behind but we were attacked from both sides. As soon as I heard the bullets I went to the floor, the attack lasted for 10-15 minutes.

"Everyone is at the hospital, the whole team, as everybody wants to be with the injured players. We're waiting to get police protection so we can go to the hotel and sleep," Dossevi said.

Dossevi, 30, confirmed the bus driver had been killed in the attack and left three of the party injured.

--Togo striker Thomas Dossevi

It is understood that captain Emmanuel Adebayor, who moved to Manchester City from Arsenal for $40m last July, escaped unhurt.

A statement on the official Web site of the English Premier League club read: "Manchester City can confirm that striker Emmanuel Adebayor is uninjured after this afternoon's attack on the Togo team bus in Angola.

"Club officials have spoken with Adebayor and though shaken by the terrible events, he is unharmed."

Dossevi told AFP that two players, goalkeeper Kodjovi Obilale and defender Serge Akakpo had been wounded.

"One of them (Akakpo) took a bullet in the back and the other (Obilale) was hit in the kidneys," Dossevi told AFP.

Romanian side FC Vaslui stated on their official Web site that defender Akakpo, was shot and badly injured in the attack.

The club said, though, the 22-year-old was out of danger after being treated by doctors. A statement on the club's web site read: "[The 22-year-old was] badly injured in an ambush in Angola, Serge Akakpo is now out of danger.

"Akakpo was struck by two bullets in the attack and has lost much blood. His condition was stabilized by doctors.

"FC Vaslui have been in touch with relatives of the player, who confirmed he has undergone surgery, which went very well."

Midfielder Moustapha Salifou, who plays in the English Premier League for Aston Villa, has also emerged without injury according to his team's official site.

Salifou spoke to his brother Eddie back home in Togo in order to reassure the family of his safety a statement read.

Togo are scheduled to begin their cup campaign against Ghana on Monday, though Dossevi told CNN he was not sure whether the game would go ahead.

"We don't know about the game, we haven't thought about it as our thoughts are just with the teammates that are hurt and the bus driver that was shot dead.

"I believe it would be more intelligent to change the matches to other cities because it is dangerous here and there is not enough security."

All these names you mentioned, the only one I find absolutely 'English' is Queen. The rest of them seem to be an anagram of their actual names or their names morphed into something else. A lot of well known designers go by their names or something afro centric. What's English about "Amanjide" or 'Maufechi'? Its neither here nor there abeg.
It may seem that the actual insecure person here is your friend who believes that unless she has an "english' name, she/he will not sell.

You ridicule yourself. I'm Igbo, so there's a possibility I'm among the generally fine naija babes. Hit your head on the wall!!! grin grin
You can say whatever you wanna say, your prerogrative. And since you are Ibo, it is possible you are fine, who knows. In Nigeria, most of the Adaeze Igwe look-alike are usually Ibo chicks. I haven't seen your picture, and I am not hitting my head on no wall. If I saw more Nigerian girls who looked like Adaeze Igwe, and even if you yourself saw many Nigerian Nigerian chicks who look like Adaeze Igwe, then I will not be saying Nigerian chicks are worwor. I rarely see them. That is the reason why I said a lot of Naija girlz are worwor.

FYI, if I were a Naija ho, I would bluntly tell it to your face!!! I do not fear anybody neither do I need your approval.
Is this really about condemning a particular behaviour but rather blacklisting Nigerian girls in comparison to others? Were you condemning a behaviour when you categorically called us the least easy on the eye species of females on that Nigerian girls are wowor thread? Ohhh, we also get blamed for being 'ugly', something we have no control over? Can you boast of ever saying anything positive where Nigerian women are concerned since your stay on NL? I hope you can take this as a joke and not take this personal , since having a different opinion of things means you are what the topic of discussion is. Please let us stop the deceit. From past threads and this latest one, let me help you say it loud and clear with no iota of pretence, Nigerian girls suck!!! Q.E.D!!!
This thread is about condemning a particular behavior. Regarding the worwor thread, as a matter of opinion, I did say a lot of Naija girls are worwor, and that by no means I am passing blame on Naija women for being ugly. I did also say that Ibo girls are generally fine, so how does that mean that I condemned every Naija girl. Get a life! You probably fall in category of worwor chicks, since those are the ones who usually get defensive and are ready to throw a tantrum at the slightest mention of worwor. The real, fine-arse, Naija chicks who read will relate and know what I'm saying, while the worwor, flat-arse ones like you will get defensive and attack every guy who opines about worwor, ugly and local Naija chicks on this thread. No wonder you will never, ever show your picture.

RomanceRe: Who Makes The Bigger Ho: Nigerian Gals Or African American Gals? by Princek12(m): 10:07pm On Jan 06, 2010
Stillwater, I now believe you have problems. It is usually women who fall into the category described by the thread who get overly defensive.  What's up with the warfare and personal attacks? I never said all Nigerian women are materialistic hoes; The poster has every right to direct his thread at the specific group of Nigerian women. For all you women talking about if these dudes don't have sisters at home--if my sister were a materialistic hoe, I would call her out.

These bitter feminists just get mad when men condemn a particular behavior that which they dislike. No one is here condemning all Nigerian women, but the point is that it is the duty of everyone to clean up a community; that is, everyone should join hands  to condemn an immoral behavior. If there exists a thread that condemned men who were irresponsible, that is men who don't take care of their family, I would join hands and condemn such men, even if my own  father was among those men. I am a realist, and good is good, while bad is bad. Y'all women can support these materialistic, hoish behavior, but I hope you will speak against it God forbid your daughters wanted to go in that path. I know I would.

Oh please!!! How about I start up a thread and say the character of the Nigerian man can be likened to the stench emanating from a skunk which is as a result of their backward, despicable, and  irritating culture. Let me see how reasonable or rational you will respond to me.
You are free to start whatever thread you want to start. I would still respond rationally to you. I would look at other Naija men to see if I ever smelled anything, ponder about your point, and respond to you. Because you may have a point.

If the poster says Naija girls are hos, think about all your girl friends and other girls you may not know, ponder about the possibility that they have hoish behaviors, and  think  about whether they excessively respond to money before you make your statement. There may be some truth to what the poster is saying. You girls must want guys to shut up and not condemn hoish, overly materialistic behavior. Even if you are not a materialistic ho, there are chances that your gf, sister, cousin, or someone you know is a materialistic ho. So why are all you all females acting as though these kind of Naija females don't exist? If you are not that type of chick, then don't take it personal, for the statements are not directed at you. But the materialistic hos know exactly what the poster is talking about.

ThoniaSlim:
And so you feel every woman who responds to this has got the same problem?

Geez how daft can some peeps be. . .If the poster wants clear opinions then he should quit the generalization and limit it to the number of girls he's probably associated with who have got this character. . .instead of coming here and making unnecessary insinuations!

And oh. . .before you all go throwing stones. . .remember you all also live in glass houses! Its not like you peeps are saints yourselves! Bomboclats!
Of course, every woman that responds to this probably does not have the same problem. For that reason, a reasonable response would stress the poster's improper generalization, tell the poster to restrict his statements to the girls with whom he involves himself, and if possible, refute the poster's argument. But none of you girls has responded in that manner. With regard to your point that Naija men are not Saints, you have the freedom to inform the poster of the behavior that makes Naija men not worthy of being Saints--but of course, that will be a straw argument, since it would be a response that deviates from the point at issue. It is a free world.
RomanceRe: Who Makes The Bigger Ho: Nigerian Gals Or African American Gals? by Princek12(m): 4:54pm On Jan 06, 2010
Instead of Naija girls to respond to the substantive points in the argument, their responses are usually, "leave us alone, jooo," "why don't you go and find the other girls?" These implies that Naija girls somewhat acknowledge the truth of the statement of the poster but don't want Naija men to speak out. You females should be happy that Naija men are speaking out, because it shows that the men have a vested interest in the community.

It is only ugly, bhitch arse men who will take a woman's obnoxious behavior without speaking out, and it appears those are the kind of men Naija women prefer. That is the reason that lot of these Yankee Naija women are single or end up with old or married or ugly arse men. If the real Naija men don't speak out and then flock to these Akata or oyinbo girls, you Naija girls are going to start running your mouth like Akata girls by saying, "all these brothas go after white women when they become successful."

Why don't you all women for a change listen to these criticisms, ponder about it, and see whether there is any credence to it. Like they say, there is no smoke without fire, and instead of telling the poster or other men to go for akata or oyinbo girls, ask to see the specific experiences that led him to the conclusion. You girls know how you act and how your friends act so just compare and contrast the statements of the poster with your friends' behaviors; that way, you can come up with an intelligent response rather than attacking the poster's character or making a strawman argument--responding with a different topic just to deviate from the point at issue.
PoliticsRe: Senate Gives Obama's Admin 7-day Utimatum To Remove Nigeria From The Black List by Princek12(m): 4:30pm On Jan 06, 2010
Waka to those people who are giving America seven days ultimatum. You guys need to visit the North to feel the heightened level of animosity against the west. Why hasn't the govt. given all those Muslims  in the North 7 days ultimatum to stop practicing Sharia Law and follow the law of the land? The point is that all those Northern Muslims sympathize with Al Qaeda, and it is only a matter of time before Al Qaeda capitalizes on that sentiment by convincing one of those malos to carry a bomb on board a U.S. bound plane. The move was a preemptive move on the part of the U.S., for there are no compelling evidence of home-grown terrorism.

Inferiority complex? Pretentiousness? Lack of imagination? Their own names are lovely. Seems to be a Nigerian thing. Other countries use their own names or geographical monikers and succeed in fashion. If they've been using their names the world would have gotten used to it and they'll probably have gone a lot farther in carving a niche internationally, since they'll be better respected. Nigerians in other professions succeed internationally with local names; in Hollywood and elsewhere. The didn't change names from from Adewale Agbaje or Chiweltel Ejiofor or Taiwo Ajayi Lycett to Tom Ford or Miguel Cruise or Francois Jolie out of blind imitation. undecided
You are right. If the had stuck to their names, the world would have gotten used to it by now, which will aid in carving out a niche for Nigerian fashion designers. Imagine a Nigerian designer marketing her line under Tiffany Amber?

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I am sure you have seen a lot of intelligent ladies around who according to you lacked the beauty factor but I can assure you that beauty is more than what you see.

Try and talk to them first instead of sayin ewwww and walking away instantly. As for the beautiful girls who lack depth, it isn't good to generalise. She may talk about her hair, shoes and make up. But instead of allowing her to initiate every conversation, why don't you bring out a topic?

I for once can't start blabbing about serious issues with every tom and jerry because just like you, I may think they can't handle it. But the moment they bring them up, I start the rapping.
The poster has unequivocally stated that he has not met any beautiful Naija girls, that he desires to meet some, and that all he has met is olodo wowo Naija chicks. How can you try and talk to people you have not met? Meeting the pretty Naija girls is a condition precedent to talking to them. Take it easy, abeg!

If what you are saying is true, thanks be to God that the days are going away where a man's wallet dictated who Naija girls will date. That way, the girls can at least find young, attractive guys who have potential to mate with, and not just mate with a guy just because he got a fat wallet or is willing to take care of the chick. Consequently, it will reduce the amount of wowoness which is too rampant. It is sad to see Naija girls with good genes mate with old, ugly or single married men, just because he is "taking" care of her. As long as their money does not get into their heads, there will be no problem. When it is all said and done, reasonable men do not care about a woman's car or her money, but they care about her substance.

In fact their level of feminist-outrageousness is more grand and far worse than the whiteys they emulate.

Tell me about it. At my church, instead of them to open up, interact, and network outside their clique, they attend night vigils and pray relentlessly, forgetting that heaven helps those who help themselves, and that the word of God says watch and pray.
